Storm POV

I woke u late in the morning, lying on the deck. The weekend had finally come. I felt the warm sun on me.

"Shouldn't you be getting up?" Miles came outside. "Why? It's the weekend..." I protested. "Yeah, but we have a bunch of animals to take care of today." Miles stated. "We do?" I asked. Yeah, taking care of the house means watching everypony's pets. C'mon, they're all downstairs." Miles said as he went inside. I stretched out and looked at the sun. "Argh...I just wanted to relax..." I groaned as I walked inside.

There were six animals. A cat named Opal, a bunny named Angel, a turtle named Tank, a baby alligator named Gummy, and Owlicious. "Ok...so where do we start?" I asked. "Well...what do these guys eat?" Miles asked. "Twilight left a note for us. She said she left food for the animals by the door." Drift said. "Ok, let me get their food." Miles walked over to get the supplies. "There's another thing...make sure that Angel gets his food exactly the way he likes it...make sure Tank gets time to fly around, and make sure Opal is well rested..." Drift read aloud. "So...who's taking Tank?" I asked. "Well, who is better of the two of us at flying?" Drift asked. "I guess I could take him." I said. "Ok, I'll make sure that the pets' food is prepared." Miles wandered off into another part of the library.

He came back into the room levitating food for every animal. "Here you go, everyone." Miles said as he placed the food in front of every animal. Angel glared down at his salad, then kicking it. "Huh? What's wrong?" Miles asked. Drift picked up the letter. "Did you prepare it right?" Drift asked. "I thought I did." Miles said. "Well, the list says it needs lettuce, cucumber slices, carrots, tomatoes...etc..." Drift read. "Let me see that." Miles took the letter. "Are you kidding me? Who puts cherries on a salad?" Miles asked in frustration. "Well it's what he eats, according to what Fluttershy said." Drift stated. "Ok, let me take this and see if we have everything..." Miles said as he left grumpily into the kitchen.

"By the way, where is Daisy?" I asked. "She left to go play with her friends. I think she said they call themselves the Cmc?" Drift said. "Oh yeah, I met them." I replied. "Yawn..." Opal yawned and stretched out. She walked over to her bed laid out for her under the table. "Okay, this seems ot be going well so far." I say to Drift. "Yeah. But don't jinx us, you know something could go wrong." Drift warned. "I know, I know." I replied. Tank hovered over to me. "Are you ready to fly, Tank?" I asked. Tank nodded. "Alright. I'll see you later, Drift." I said as Tank and I headed out.

Drift POV

I waved to Storm as she left with Tank. That left Miles and I to take care of the pets. Opal was quiet and laying in her bed, Owlicious was perched on the table, sleeping, Gummy was just...being Gummy? And Angel was waiting for his salad.

"Okay, here you go, Angel. I made the salad exactly the way you want it." Jake brought out the salad. Angel inspected it as it was placed in front of him. He then gave a thumbs up, but showed no emotion.

"Where did Storm go?" Miles asked. "She went to take Tank flying." I started as I walked over to the table, "Honestly, the animals seem pretty relaxed. This isn't gonna be so hard." I then felt a fluffy thing under my hoof. "MEEEOOOOW!" Opal shrieked and started freaking out. She started running frantically around the room. "Oh! I'm sorry, Opal!" I said as I started chasing her around the room, trying to catch her. Opal then jumped onto one of the curtains, scratching them. "Get off of those!" I grabbed Opal and yanked her off the curtains, until *riiiip*

"Oh no!" I set Opal down, who had contained herself. "They're ruined!" I exclaimed. "We'll have to get some new ones for Twilight then." Miles said. "I don't have any money to pay for these..." I said regretfully. "Here, Storm and I have gotten quite a lot form work already. This should be enough for curtains." Miles gave me some gold bits. "Okay...but I can't leave you with all these animals to take care of on your own..." I said. "Well as long as I don't freak out Opal, things should be fine. Owlicious can help too if she gets out of hand." Miles siad. "Well let me take Angel then. He seems eager to do something today anyway." I said. I walked over to Angel. "Hey Angel, want to come with me?" I asked. Angel finished his salad and nodded. He then climbed onto my back. "Ok. Miles, We'll see you later." I said. "Later guys." He said.

I headed out into Ponyville, finding myself at the curtain store. "Welcome, how may I help you?" The clerk pony asked. "Hi, I'm looking for some yellow curtains, kind of like the ones at the Golden Oaks Library." I said. "Oh yes, those are lovely. Lets see..." She went into the back to check for them. She came back out. "I'm sorry...we don't seem to have any premade...I can have one made for you in only a couple of hours."She offered. "Yes please." I replied. "Alright...so you wanted yellow curtains? I'll get right on that. Come back in say...two hours." She said. "Thank you." I said.

Angel and I headed outside the store. "Well, it will be some time before the curtains are made. Want to go visit the cutie mark crusaders?" I asked. He looked a little unsure, making chattering noises. "C'mon, I want to check in on my sister anyway." I said. Angel shrugged and leaned against my mane.

I headed down to the CMC's clubhouse, where Daisy said they would be. "Hello?" I walked up to the door of the clubhouse. "Oh, you must be Daisy's sister." Sweetie Belle said. "Yup. I just came to check on her." I said.

"Hey, Drift. How's the pet sitting coming?" Daisy asked. "It's going alright..." I said. Angel then started chattering. "Wait, Opal ripped the curtains?" Daisy asked. "Yeah...how did you know?" I asked. "Uh...Angel just said so?" Daisy looked confused. "Wait, so you can talk to animals?" Apple Bloom asked Daisy. "I...guess so?" It seemed as it was new to Daisy, as it would be. "Awesome!" Scootaloo said. Angel then started chattering again. "Oh, Angel said he wants to head back to the library." Daisy translated. "Alright. I suppose Miles will need some help with the animals." I said. "See you guys later." I said. "Later, Drift." Daisy said.

Miles POV

I fluffed up the pillow in Opal's bed. "There you go. Hopefully that will be comfortable." I said as I set the pillow down. "Rreow." Opal meowed as she climbed into her bed.

Soon, the door opened to Drift and Angel. "How'd it go?" I asked. "Well, the pony said that it would take a couple of hours for the curtains to be made." Drift said. "Well that's good. Hopefully that will be done by the time they all get back." I said. "I'm sure they will. Twilight said it would be an all day event." Drift replied.

"Hey, Storm isn't back yet?" She asked. "Nope. You know, I know Rainbow Dash said that Tank needs a good flight today, but seems like the two have been gone for awhile." I replied. "Well you know Storm, she likes to let moments like this last for awhile." Maria added. "True. I'm sure they'll be back soon." I replied.

Storm POV

"Hmm..." I looked down at the ground, hovering by Tank. "I'm not used to being up so high...Do you and Rainbow Dash fly a lot?" I asked Tank. He nodded. "Makes sense. I'm guessing there's almost never a moment when she's flying." I said.

"Okay, Tank. Ready to head back?" I asked. Tank nodded. "Alright. We'll head back then." I said. Tank and I headed lower to the ground. I landed on the grounds of the park. Tank hovered close to me in the air. "By the way, how does that thing work?" I asked. Tank shrugged. "It doesn't matter. Hey, maybe we should stop at Hay Burger and get some food for dinner?" I suggested. Tank nodded in agreement. "Great. Lets go then." I said.

Tank and I headed to Hay Burger and walked inside. "Hi, how may I help you?" The stallion asked. "Hmm...Four hayburgers with sides of hayfries for each of those." I said. "Will that be all?" He asked. "That will be all." I replied. "For here or to go?" He asked. "To go." I replied. "Alright, your total should pop up on the screen." He said. "Alright...Here you go." I said, giving him the bits. "Thank you. Your meal will be ready in a little bit." He said. "Thanks." I said.

Tank and I headed over by some other ponies waiting for their food. "Howdy, Storm!" I turned and saw Stone Shift. "Hey Stone Shift, suprised to see you here." I said. "Likewise. What have you been up to this weekend?" He asked. "Oh, Twilight and her friends went to that traders fair at Rainbow Falls, so my friends and I are pet sitting." I replied, looking back at Tank. "Ah, that's nice." He said. "Hey, I heard that you were looking for a house, right?" He asked. "Yes I am." I said. "Well, my brother works in construction. I can hook you guys up if ya want." He offered. "Are you kidding? That would be great!" I said. "Alright. I'll bring him in on Monday and you can meet with him." He said. "Alright, thanks." I said.

"Meal for Stone Shift." A pony called. "Oh! I gotta get that. I'll see ya Monday, Storm." He said. "Later." I replied.

Tank and I got our food and headed for home.

Drift POV

"Alright, here are your curtains." The pony said. "Oh, they're perfect! Thank you!" I said, giving her the bits. "You're welcome. Have a nice day." She said. "You too." And I exited with the new curtains.

"Alright...Now I have to get these home. Hopefully Twilight won't notice..." I said as I walked home.

I stopped to see the lowering sun. ...You know...That sun looks so similar to our own...yet something is different about it...Oh...I wish we were all back home...I know I'm really stressing it on everyone...but...I don't have much knowledge in this world...I had so many things happening that got me excited every day...I miss all my friends...my family... I watched the moon come into view. ...I...I wish we were home... I thought. ...I'd better get back... I continued on towards the library.

I saw Daisy head back to the library. "Hey Daisy, did you have fun today?" I asked. "Sure did." She smiled. "Great." I said. "Did you get the curtains?" She asked. "Yup. Did you get the curtains?" She asked. "Just got them. We should go home and prepare something for dinner." I said. "Lets go then." Daisy hurried to the library.

"Hey guys, we're back." Daisy and I entered the library to find Jake and Zoey there. "Glad you're back. I got us all some food from Hay Burger to eat." Storm said. "Great! I'm starving!" Daisy said. "Let me just put these up." I flew over to the window and hung up the brand new curtains. "What happened to the old ones?" Storm asked. "Eh...I stepped on Opal's tail and whiule she freaked out, she jumped up and ripped the curtains." I explained. "Ouch..." She replied.

"Alright, lets dig in!" Miles said. He started eating his burger. All the animals were eating as we had our food. "I wonder how thing went at the Traders Exchange?" Storm asked. "Who knows?" I replied.

Storm POV

"Well, I'm heading to bed. I'm kind of tired..." I said. "Me too..." Drift replied. "Night everyone..." I said as I flew upstairs. "Night Strm." Everyone replied.

I flew up to the deck, it was another warm night. "Yawn..." I yawned as I laid down to sleep. I looked up at the moon that was high in the sky. ...You know...Maria has a point about being here...Not that I hate being here, but I miss home. What is it about me and Jake that called us here in the first place? I rested my head and closed my eyes. ...I might be thinking about this too much...I'd better sleep...goodnight Equestria... I thought as I fell asleep.
