1. Chapter 1

Unknown Town

Tris POV

I hop onto the train, not knowing where it will lead me. My parents just screamed at me. I asked them if I could date my friend Al. They told me I was to young to date. That felt like a hard punch in the stomach.

I never told them I used to date a guy named Tobias. We trusted each other with our lives until I found out he died in a car accident. I had locked myself in my room for days. It was all so sudden, it happened so quicky.

I recently found out he loved me. A few months after he died, his mom let me in his room. I found a journal he wrote in. He talked about how much he loved me and how he wanted to marry me and have a family. He wanted to train the new initiates with me. I cried in his room who knows how long.

Now here I stand going who knows where. I wipe away my tears and realize I need to lay down. I walk over to the corner and push my back down the wall until my butt reaches the floor.

I then decide I no longer want to date Al. I like him better as a friend. I want Tobias.

I stand up and look out the window. A sign says we are reaching a place called Dauntless. I've heard Tobias talk about this place! He wanted me and him to live here and someday raise a family. I am so excited I can barely wait.
