Callen stood over the crib looking in at his two day old son. Christopher looked up at him and kicked his feet.

"Hey little buddy you ready for some breakfast?"

Chris gurgled and kicked his feet again. Callen took this as a yes and picked him up. He carried him into the bedroom to Mac.

"Someone is hungry."

"Here had him over."

Mac took him and Chris latched on proving that Callen was correct. "You better get breakfast for the girls they will be up soon."

"Already on the table."

Mac looked at a very cheerful Callen. "Ok what's up?"

"Nothing."

"You're in too good a mood."

"I am in a good mood. My little boy is here and healthy you're not threatening to cut anything of mine off if I touch you again." This made Mac chuckle. "And I get to show off baby pics at work today."

"While I sit here all day taking care of the baby."

"Do you want me to call Hetty tell her I'm staying home with you?"

"No its just hormones talking that's all."

"Ok if you're sure."

"Callen we will be fine. I've done this before."

"No you did this with your parents help before."

"Daddy what's for breakfast?" yelled out Anna.

Callen stuck his head out of the bedroom. "Cereal on the table."

"Ok."

Just then Callen felt a tug on his leg. Clara stood there looking up at him. "Hi daddy."

"Hey baby girl want to go see mommy?"

"Mommy." Said Clara putting her arms up so Callen would pick her up.

"There's my little princess."

Callen put Clara onto the bed. She moved to look at her brother.

"Hi brudder." Clara said and touched his little hand. "He wittle mommy."

"Yes he is but he will grow up fast."

"I big swister now?" Clara looked up at Mac.

"Yes you are."

"Oh tay."

Clara scrambled off the bed herself and ran out of the room.

"She is getting so big." Said Mac.

"Yes she is."

Callen went to check on the girls then back to make sure Mac didn't need anything.

"Chris needs a diaper change."

Callen made a face but took his son to get him cleaned up. Mac headed to the kitchen for coffee and to see the girls.

"Mommy when is Grandma Sara coming home?"

"In a few days."

"Ok I want to play with the bunnies."

Deeks had offered to feed the bunnies while Sara and Victor where in D.C. He had Donny helping him as one of his chores.

"Maybe Uncle Deeks will take you over after school today with Donny so you can help feed them and clean their cage."

"Can you ask him mommy?" Anna looked so happy at this idea. Mac called Deeks and asked him.

"Yeah sure I'll take her with us. Donny will be happy to have someone to play with."

After the girls ate Callen loaded them into the car. Anna off to school and Clara off to Kensi's to get a ride over to her moms. It was too soon for Mac to look after both her and the baby. Callen wanted her to get as much rest as she could.

He waved at Mac as he pulled away from the house. Mac went back in to check on Chris and hopefully grab a shower. A few hours later Hetty called to check up on her.

"I'm fine Hetty. Chris has eaten and had a bath and diaper change."

"Mr. Callen has been a bit worried."

"I'm fine really. Chris is an easy baby just like Clara was."

"That's good. I talked to your mother she will be home a few days early, Victor is staying a bit longer."

"Wow no one thinks I can take care of a baby on my own." Said Mac a bit miffed.

"Sara is just so excited to see the baby. I told her you were fine."

"Ok. Tell Callen to bring home food as I'm not cooking tonight."

Hetty chuckled and said she would.

That afternoon a delivery truck showed up. The man brought in two large boxes for her then left. Mac looked at the return address. D.C. Navy Yard NCIS headquarters.

She got a knife and opened the first. Inside was a card signed by Gibbs, his team, Ducky and Palmer, Abby and the director. Also directions for photos of the baby to be sent ASAP. Mac laughed and started digging thru the box. There were several wooden toys, hand made by Gibbs. A train, truck, boat (of course a boat) and a few wooden animals. A copy of Tim's new book.

Next Mac started pulling out stuff Abby must have picked out. Where she found baby clothing with skulls was anyone's guess. There were also clothing for the girls all goth.

Mac put them away and moved on to the larger box. She opened it and read the note. *You will need to cut the sides of the box to get it out. Shouldn't be too hard to put together. Gibbs.*

Ok what exactly did he send? It was very well wrapped so she started to carefully cut away at the box then the massive amounts of bubble wrap and padding. Once she had everything off she stood back and just stared.

Sitting there was a miniature Gyspsy wagon. The entire thing was wooden and hand carved and painted. Mac had never seen anything like it before. She grabbed her phone and dialed long distance.

"Gibbs."

"All I can say is oh my god Gibbs."

"The packages came?"

"Yes!" Mac circled the wagon. "The wagon is amazing."

"Hetty called when she found out you were having a boy. She asked me to make it special."

"It's unbelievable. The kids will love it."

"You didn't wait on Callen to put it together did you?"

"Of course not. You know that man can't but together a cardboard box without help."

Gibbs laughed. "Good point."

"Tell everyone thank you for the gifts."

"I will. Anything you want built for Christmas?"

"Well Anna has been asking for one of those Victorian doll houses. One of her friends at school has one."

"Ok one doll house coming up."

They talked for a while before Mac heard a car pull up. It was Callen.

He walked in with Clara and stopped dead.

"What the…"

"Gibbs." Mac took their dinner into the kitchen. "Hetty asked him to make it for us."

"It's amazing." Callen was on the floor opening the back doors and looking in. He rolled it forward and back. Yes her husband was one big kid.

"It's for the kids Callen."

Clara looked at it and then at her mom. "Mommy what is it?"

"It's a Gyspy wagon. A long time ago our people lived in them."

Clara made a face and picked up a wooden horse and started playing with it. Her daughter was happy with the simple things just like her father.

"Gibbs is making a doll house for Anna for Christmas." Said Mac in Russian.

Callen looked up in awe. "She is going to love that."

"Deeks is feeding Anna tonight so let's eat while its hot." Said Mac.

They ate then Clara and Callen went back to play with the toys Gibbs sent. Mac fed Chris again and brought him into the living room putting him in a baby seat. Clara showed him the toys telling him what each one was.

"Don't let him have any Clara he's still too little to play with them."

"Oh tay mommy."

It was close to eight when Deeks brought Anna home. They both stopped and looked at the wagon.

"Wow where did you get that?"

"Gibbs."

"Sweet."

"Mommy it's a Gyspy wagon. Is it for me?"

"It's for the entire family. You have to play with it carefully ok."

"Sure mommy."

"Mom is coming home early."

"That's good." Said Callen.

"Ok I got to go Kensi and the kids are in the car." Deeks couldn't take his eyes off the wagon.

"Hetty asked him to make it." Said Mac.

"That thing is way cool." Deeks smiled and headed out.

"Callen I'm going to help Anna get ready for bed. Don't break it."

Callen looked up at her funny then rolled his eyes.

Clara was fast asleep when Mac tucked Anna into bed.

"Mommy we have to do a family tree for school."

"Ok I can help you with that."

"I want to put everyone in it. Not just our family but everyone."

"Well everyone is our family."

Mac smiled down at her daughter. "Not all families are related by blood. If you're lucky you find people along the way that become your family. Those are often the strongest families."

"I don't know if I should but down that we're Gyspy."

"You don't have to if you don't want to. But you can be proud of who and what you are."

"What if no one likes me after they find out?" whispered Anna.

"Then they were not your friends to begin with."

"Ok mommy."

Mac tucked her in and checked on Clara who was sound asleep clutching her stuffed bunny.

Mac went to find Callen. He was rocking Christopher trying to get the little boy back to sleep.

"Come on little prince its sleepy time."

"Looks like Chris takes after you in the sleeping department."

"Clara did the same thing when she was born too. Refused to sleep in less I was holding her."

"Well you two have fun I'm going to bed."

Mac walked slowly out of the room. Callen got up and followed.

"You ok?"

"Callen I pushed your son out of my who haw two days ago what do you think?"

Callen looked confused then started to laugh. "Sorry that's just really funny."

"Men." Mac said and started to get changed.

"Your mommy is a funny lady Chris. But never forget she's the boss. Gyspy mothers are always in charge."

"You got that right mister." Said Mac leaning in for a kiss. She put one on Chris's head too and he yawned.

"Don't stay up too late."

"I'll try." Said Callen turning to walk down the hall to the nursery.

Mac got into the bed and found a comply spot. She was still sore but it was getting better. It helped that Chris was only five pounds one once when he was born. She didn't struggle like she thought she would.

She couldn't wait till the doctor gave her the go ahead to work out. The baby weight was killing her as nothing fit anymore. Mac snuggled into the blankets and fell asleep.

Across the hall Callen was pacing with Chris in his arms. "We love you so much little prince. You are going to be so spoiled by everyone." Chris had his eyes closed and Callen realized his son was finally asleep. He laid him down and backed out of the room quietly. He looked in across the hall on the girls, both were fast asleep. After checking all the doors and windows he headed to bed himself.

It was Friday night and they guys had tickets to a ball game. Mac invited Kensi and Nell over for a girls night in. Sara had come home the day before and offered to take the kids for the night.

"Ok so what's the plan?" asked Kensi carrying in a pizza.

"And why did I need to bring the camera?" asked Nell.

Mac pointed to the wagon.

"Oh wow. Deeks told me about it."

"That thing is amazing." Added Nell.

"Hetty had Gibbs make it for us. I want to take some shots of Christopher in front of it and get the best one framed."

"Ok but he needs his gyspy outfit." Said Nell laughing.

"Nell we really are not the blingy gyspy family."

"Oh come on it will be cute."

"Ok but I ordered this outfit when I was pregnant and found out it was a boy. It's a traditional Romanian Gyspy outfit." Mac showed them. Kensi agreed they needed lots of photos now.

They ate first then dressed Chris up in his Gyspy prince outfit. Mac propped him up with pillows covered with the baby quilt Sara had given them and stepped back. Nell took several shots. Chris was loving all the attention and kept smiling at his Aunt Nell.

They then put the traditional out fit on him including a baby hat.

"That is too perfect." Said Kensi.

"I got outfits for the girls too. I want to get photos of them all together when mom brings them home."

"This is too perfect."

Sara got the girls home before the men came back and they got them changed. Anna knelt next to the wagon and held Chris with Clara sitting next to them. They wagon was behind them and the girls were at each end so you could see the wagon.

Mac looked over to see her mom tearing up.

"Your father is going to love this."

"Well I did a lot of research and this is what our family would have worn around WWI."

"I have an old photo of your father dressed like that as a little boy. Oh he will never believe it."

After Nell got a lot of shots they got the kids ready for bed. Mac wanted it to be a surprise for the others to see once they picked out the best ones.

They just got the kids in bed when the guys walked in the door. Kensi laughed as Deeks finally got a chance to take a close look at the wagon. He and Callen spent half an hour talking about it.

"Ok Deeks time to go we still have to take Nell home."

"Yeah ok I'm coming."

Deeks and Kensi dropped Nell off and swung by her mom's to pick up the kids. Both were fast asleep so they decided to just sleep there so they didn't have to wake up the kids.

"So did you have a nice time tonight?" asked Kensi as she watched Deeks strip.

"The game sucked but it was amusing to listen to Callen talk about Chris all night."

"He's so proud to have a son."

"Yeah but he's still kicking himself for missing the birth."

"With this job you never know what you'll miss." Said Kensi. She felt bad for Callen but worse for Mac she had to do it all alone.

"Kensi do you think we could try for another baby?" asked Deeks.

"Um yeah not any time soon."

Deeks looked at her. "Deeks right now two is enough. I'm not sure how Mac and Callen are going to handle three plus the job."

"Ok fine."

"Maybe when Lilly starts school." Said Kensi.

This cheered Deeks up. He was such a great dad.

Monday everyone was out on a case so Nell called Mac. "Hey you want to stop by and see the photos?"

"Of course. I'll be there in an hour."

As soon as Mac walked in Hetty took the baby. "Give my great-grandson to me and you go talk to Nell."

Mac went upstairs. "Nell did you tell Hetty?"

"I told her you were planning a surprise for your dad."

"Oh good one."

They spent a half hour looking at photos and picking out the best ones. Nell promised to print them all but they choose six to enlarge and frame. One would be sent to Gibbs as a thank you.

Mac headed downstairs and ran into Callen.

"What are you doing here?"

"Hetty wanted some baby time and I needed to get out of the house for an hour. Plus we were low on diapers."

"MacKenna…"

"Don't MacKenna me." Mac said poking Callen in the chest. "I needed some time out."

"Choose your battles man." Said Deeks walking by.

Hetty was taking Christopher around introducing him to everyone. The little boy was loving looking at everything. But when he saw his dad his eye lit up and he reached out to him.

"There's your daddy Chris."

Callen took his son and held him close.

"Still mad at me?" asked Mac.

"No."

Callen finally handed the baby over so he could get some work done.

"Mom is making dinner tonight don't forget?"

"Yeah no chance at that." Said Callen. He loved his mother in laws cooking.

Mac drove home and fed Chris before changing him. Sara picked her up after picking Anna up at school and they headed to the beach house.

When Callen walked in the door he had Kensi and Deeks with him.

"Hope you don't mind two more. Mom took Lilly and Donny to the movies and dinner." Said Deeks.

"Of course not." Said Sara.

They ate and Deeks and Callen argued who was a better Agent him or Sam. Kensi just shook her head at her husband. Victor sat back and watched the boys laughing at them.

When Chris started to cry Victor was the first to go get his grandson. "Now what is the matter little prince?"

They had dressed him in his Gyspy Prince outfit and Victor loved it.

"He's been fussy afternoon." Said Mac.

"He just needs some grandpa time don't you?"

Chris settled down and Victor carried him out onto the deck.

Micha was the same way always fussy at night when he got tired." Said Sara.

"Daddy come see the bunnies." Said Donny from the deck.

Deeks went out and helped Donny and Anna put the bunnies in their play pin. Clara happily giggled and sat in the middle letting the bunnies bounce all around her.

"So Deeks want's another kid." Said Kensi.

"And?" asked Mac.

"I told him maybe in a few years." Kensi sipped at her wine. "I just don't think I can handle one more. With Deeks it's like I already have three kids."

"Don't forget two dogs and two bunnies." Added Callen.

"Oh don't get me started on the animals. Deeks brought home fish last night."

Mac laughed and shook her head. "Yeah I draw the line at fish."

"But you told Anna she could get a lizard." Said Callen.

"I said a gecko." She looked at her husband. "What they are so cute."

"You should have seen Deeks last week when he found a mouse in the garage. He screamed like a little girl." Said Kensi. "Donny wanted to keep it as a pet but it got away and we couldn't find it."

"So Deeks is afraid of mice huh?" Mac smirked at Kensi. "Maybe you should get Donny a pet rat."

Kensi looked at Mac an burst out laughing. "Oh no. No rats. Deeks refuses to go in the garage now."

"Wasn't Deeks freaked out once over a bug at work?" asked Callen.

"Oh yeah the cockroach. I had to kill it for him."

This made them all laugh.

A WEEK LATER.

Mac had a doctor's appointment so she stopped by the Mission afterwards with Chris. Nell grabbed her and dragged her upstairs to see the photos. Each was framed beautifully thanks to a friend of Eric's.

"I had a set made for Hetty, your dad, Callen and Gibbs."

"Oh Nell they are perfect."

"What is perfect?" asked Hetty walking in.

"Here Hetty."

Mac handed her three framed photos. "Oh my look at them." One had all three kids dressed up. One just the girls and one just Chris.

"That set is for you."

Hetty shook her head. "What a wonderful surprise."

Mac carried a set downstairs for Callen. She put them on his desk as Nell made them smaller so he could keep them on his desk. A larger set would hang at home.

Mac sat on the couch to feed Chris and wait. Callen walked in and stopped to give Mac and Chris both a kiss. He sat down and his jaw dropped.

"I hope you like them."

"MacKenna when did you do this?"

"The night you guys went to the ball game."

Callen showed Deeks and Sam the pictures. Then sat down next to his wife. "I love them."

"Nell printed larger ones for home, a set for Hetty and one for dad plus a set to send to Gibbs."

"Oh I sent those out this morning. We had some files that had to go to DC so I added the package."

"Thanks Nell."

Callen wrapped his arm around Mac and held her while she fed their son. Kensi sat and watched and sighed. Nell really did a great job with the photos. Maybe she should dress her kids up like little Vikings and take their photos for Deeks. What a great birthday idea that would be.

That night they stopped by the beach house to give Victor his set of photos.

"What is this?"

"Just a little something."

Victor opened the box and gasped. "The children look at them."

Sara showed Mac and Callen the photo of Victor as a child. Christopher looked just like his grandfather.

"Sara we must find a good place to put these. I want everyone who comes to see how beautiful my grandchildren are."

Mac smiled when she realized her dad was crying and got up to hug him. "I didn't want to make you cry dad."

"I can not help it. I never dreamed to have such beautiful grandchildren that are so proud to be gyspy."

"Grandpa will you help me with my family tree project for school?" asked Anna.

"Of course I will little one."

"Mommy can I wear my gyspy dress when I do my report?"

"If you want to."

Mac had found out that the parents were encouraged to attend the afternoon that their children were presenting their projects.

"You know I have an old trunk we brought from Romania with lots of things from the family in it. You can use some of them if you like." Said Sara.

"Thank you grandma." Anna hugged her tightly.

Victor had left the room and had came back with a hammer. He pulled down a painting and hung the largest photo of the three kids then hung the other two next to them. Anyone coming in the front door would not miss them.

Mac laid her head on Callen's shoulder and held Chris close to her chest.

CHAPTER NOTES.

Up next. Anna's project and what happens when Kensi decided to dress the kids up to take their photos. It doesn't go as she had hoped.
