Chapter III ! Found My Way To You
His Dad left to check some leads, but left him without any more details. Sam was ready to shout at him for cutting him out from the search of his brother. It was just typical, they always treated him like a baby that can't do anything by himself. He had enough, but this time he decided not to go into any arguments with his Dad, he'll just go and start the search for Dean on his own. Surely they have computers' in the hospital, and Sam Winchester was no stranger to breaking into restricted spaces.
He sneaked his way to the second floor, and was almost at his destination.
'Hey!' The voice called behind him, he fastened his pace and tried to get away.
'Hey! You are not supposed to be here, are you listening to me?' Alex did not like it when people ignored him, and what was this guy doing here anyway? It was ICU.
'I was looking for a bathroom.' Sam tried to channel his inner Dean, figuring it will work better with this guy than his puppy dog eyes that worked better for old women and teenage girls.
'Very funny, now get back to bed. What's your name?'
'Michaels, Sam Michaels.'
'Ok Sam do I need a nurse to escort you back to bed?'
'No I'm ...' the commotion behind them stopped his train of thought, he saw several nurses run into one of the rooms. The doctor who stopped him, Kerev according to the name tag, glanced at him again before rushing after them. Sam spared a glance inside the room, and saw them cover the patient in cooling blankets. He couldn't see his face but there was something familiar about the person on the bed. Unconsciously he started to make his way inside the room, when Karev once again came into his line of view.
'I've told you to come back to your bed. There's nothing for you to see here.' This time he did escort Sam to his room, also he paged Doctor Webber who immediately threaten with sedating him. Damn it, he was starting to really dislike this hospital.
OoOoOoOoOoOo
Meanwhile John was also not a happy camper, damn police station was packed with people, who knew Seattle was so prone to crime. He had to wait for half an hour to finally see some officers.
'Hello sir, how can I help you?' He decided to go with almost a real story, he didn't of course plan on telling the police that he already knew his son's car was here.
'Hi, I'm hoping you can help me, my son went missing few days ago and I'm checking the police stations in hope to find some information.'
'Did you report a missing person?'
'No I figured that in such big city, his case would not be made priority as he's 26 but it's been four days and my own attempts at finding him are failing.'
'Ok, well you need to fill out this form, and then stand in this queue over there…'
'Listen, it will take ages, can you at least run a scan on his car see if he was maybe speeding, and I will be on my way, one of my friends is a private detective so I will forward the information to him.'
'I guess I can do that quickly' John sight in relief, at least one thing went smoothly.
'Sir, I found your son's car, I'm sorry to say but he was in an accident.'
'What? What happened why wasn't I informed?'
'From what I can tell your son caused the accident, he crashed the car, and then was transported to the hospital, no one informed you because…'
'Because what?'
'He hadn't had any ID, also the report states he was in coma for two days and I'm sorry to say but apparently your son has amnesia.'
'Amnesia? Oh my god Dean.' He's son had no idea who he is, he was probably scared and lonely, he needed to get to him fast.
'He's in Seattle Grace Hospital.' The officer yelled after him, but John already knew where his son was, was already making his way back, to where both of his boys were healing because he left them alone. He in his stupidity decided that they will be fine without him. He should have known.
John was not a perfect father, that's furthers from truth, but he loved his sons. He tried, to keep them safe and maybe making that his priority resulted in him neglecting their happiness, but at least they were alive.
He decided to check on Sam first, and maybe he will ask Doctor Webber about Dean, he was after all a Chief. He thought Sam was asleep but the second his son heard him, dark eyes where shooting daggers at him.
'Where have you been?'
'I was checking the intel from Bobby.'
"I know, but where? I'm not a kid anymore Dad and Dean is my brother I have a right to know.'
'I know Sammy… and I'm going to tell you now.' He took a deep breath. 'Dean is here, as in the hospital, I don't know exactly what state he's in, I'm going to ask doctor Webber, hopefully we will see your brother soon.'
'If he's here then why didn't they call us? …Dad is he badly hurt?'
'Sammy…your brother has amnesia.'
'God Dean.' Sam sat with his mouth open, his big brother, his hero didn't remember him. He felt tears welling up in his eyes. They need to find Dean right now!
'We need to find him Dad, doctor Webber should know where he is.' He pressed call button without even thinking about it. 'Do you think it's permanent? What if he never remembers us?'
'He will Sam, if not I will find a way to fix it.' Before Sam was able to response Webber walked into the room.
'Hello Sam, John is there a problem? How are you feeling Sam?'
'I'm fine.'
'Actually it has nothing to do with Sam, we figured you would be able to help us.'
'What seems to be a problem?'
'My oldest, Sam's brother Dean, as you know went missing a day before Sam was brought here, I went to a Police station in hope of some information, they were able to find his car, he was in a car crash. And they say he's here.'
'I'm sorry to hear that John, but we have known your other sons name I'm sure we would already inform you he is here.'
'Well, that's the thing, apparently he has amnesia.'
'Oh, oh…wait we only had one John Doe recently…' but Sam interrupted him before he could finish.
'That must be him, can we see him?!'
'Well, I don't really have any confirmation that he really is your family, do you have his ID, or maybe a photograph?'
'Yeah, wait a second.' John pulled out his wallet, and a picture of Sam and Dean he snapped when he saw them in Nebraska after Dean was cured from his electrocution. He had to do it to constantly reassure himself they were both alive.
Sam wondered what picture his Dad was showing, if it was some old one from before he went to Stanford they may not recognize his brother.
'Can I see?' He took the picture and instantly knew they were telling the truth, the picture was of both boys Sam grin almost splitting his face while Dean looked mildly annoyed with a mixture of relief and worry.
'That's him, I guess I can take you to him …do you want to go now?'
'Yes, of course now is perfect!' Sam was already out of bed, and heading out of the room when someone stopped him.
'Sam, I'm aware you already did some trips around the hospital today, yes young man I have eyes everyway, but hospital policy says wheelchair.' Sam groaned but decided not to push his luck.
OoOoOoOoOoO
He led them to the second floor, John was pushing Sam's wheelchair while trying to gather as much information about Dean as he could. He wanted to know what was wrong with his son. They were getting closer to his room when suddenly Sam freaked out.
'No, no, no..!'
'Sam?! What's wrong, maybe you should stay in bed?'
'No Dad, I've been here before and I saw Dean, I mean just a bit of him, not his face and …he was in a bad shape Dad!'
'I'm sure he's fine now, let's go.' But soon he was proven wrong, Dean was surrounded by nurses, a doctor by his side, checking his vitals. Cooling blankets around him, oxygen mask on his face. Countless machines attached to him, his head and abdomen where covered in bandages, his leg in a cast. God his son was a mess. Sam was out of the wheelchair before John could stop him.
Meredith was checking on John again, they we're still trying to bring his temp down, it was a slow process. His body was very weak from the surgeries, it wasn't defending itself from the infection. He needed a help breathing now as well, she was adjusting his medication dosage when Richard walked in with two men in tow. One of them was also a patient, before she could react the young man approached the bed and stared at John with a mixture of saddens, worry and relief.
'Dean, can you hear me? Come on bro, I'm here I found you, you're going to be alright. And guess what Dad's here too, I know shocker right. Come on big bro talk to me.' But Dean was out, he was mumbling, tossing his head a bit, but too far gone in a fever.
'Excuse me, who are you?' The doctor asked him, Sam ignored her still focusing all his attention on his brother.
'Grey, those gentlemen here are your patient's family, they just found out he's here, can you tell Mr. Michaels what exactly is wrong with his son.'
'Yes of course, can I just ask you what his real name is? We have been calling him John so far, we asked him what he would like to be called, told him that right now he's a John Doe, and he said it sounds familiar so he will stick with it. Is his name John?'
The man in front of her looked like he just won a prize, he got teary but quickly scolded his features.
'No, he's names Dean.' The young doctor seemed disappointed. 'But my name is John…does it mean he will remember us.'
'Dean, that suits him.' She smiled to herself happy that her patient found his family, but she was quickly back to business. 'Mr. Michaels, I don't know how much you know so I will start from the beginning. Your son was brought to us on Wednesday. He suffered a major trauma to his head, abdomen and right leg. We couldn't operate all at once because his heart wouldn't handle such a strain. He was bleeding into his brain so we decided it was our priority. During the surgery Doctor Sheppard was able to stop the bleeding he also discovered the reason your son crashed the car. He already suffered a blow to his head before driving the car. Later on Doctor Bailey repaired his spleen, fortunately he avoided splenectomy. Doctor Torres fixed his leg, it is a very bad compound brake but she's a great surgeon and although it will take some therapy he will be fine. Now our biggest concern is the infection. He was fine for the first three days after surgery but, he's weakened. It's hard for his body to fight this infection, but we're helping him. The next 24 hours are crucial. If he survives, then I'm sure he will be on his way to recovery. I almost forgot. His amnesia is caused by the swelling to his brain. But our scans showed no permanent damage, he should get all his memories back.'
John was speechless for a long second. Dean really did a number on himself this time. But he will get through this, he has to get through this.
'That's Dean for you, never doing anything half way.' He tried to joke but both doctors saw right through him.
'Can we stay with him now?'
'Of course go ahead.'

Here it is chapter three. Hope you like it. I'm sorry about my medical knowledge literally all I know is from watching medical shows like Grey's. Also I don't have a beta, and my writing is a bit rough. Also big thanks to Taraneh for your reviews xx (They are only showing on my email so I couldn't respond). And thanks to anyone who favorites the story x
