Part 95

The food was amazing Wes decided after just one bite. He was sure Mitch was the one behind the catering, he had exceptional taste when it came to food and drinks. Besides, Wes had heard Austin and Justine mentioning to Joseph that Mitch would handle the food if he handled the music. All in all it was looking to be a successful evening. Austin's oldest brother was acting as toast master so he was the only one that knew that the Warblers were going to perform. Wes ate happily, not thinking about the performance yet or he'd get nervous. But he couldn't help to feel just a little sad at times… when he saw how lovey-dovey the newlyweds were. It made him miss Julia. He'd sent her a few pictures from the reception and had gotten cute and funny little remarks. He had nearly laughed out loud when she sent him the message that:

"If you dance with another girl you are dead meat Montgomery. I have a hammer and I know how to use it."

But seeing all the couples around made him miss his girlfriend. He wasn't the only one missing their significant other though. Some of the other Warblers didn't bring their plus one and they were missing them. Wes sighed and looked up when he noticed the staff moving tables back. He grinned and nudge the Warbler closest to him. His friend grinned as well and winked. Wes looked up when Austin's brother hit on his glass.

"And now", Adam said with a grin. "It's time for the bride and groom to have the first dance. But instead of the song they wanted the band to play I've got something else in mind. It's time for a special surprise for the bride and groom, courtesy of the Dalton Academy Warblers… current and alumni."

Austin, Justine, Joseph and Mitch all looked surprised when the Warblers got up and walked out on the big dance floor. Well Bastian rolled onto the dance floor and stopped beside Wes and Malcolm. All three winked at each other. The Warblers started doing backup and the trio in front started singing. Justine and Austin stood a bit from them, happy that their friends were going to sing for their first dance.

During the guitar solo the trio looked at each other and nodded. Malcolm and Wes held their hands out to Bastian, he gripped them and got up. The Warblers nearly forgot to do their singing and Justine and Austin had still to notice anything. They didn't notice until the lead trio put their arms around the two of them and sang again:

Justine gasped and she and Austin stared at Bastian. Then Austin hugged Bastian tightly, Bastian hugged him back and pulled Justine into the hug.

Justine and Austin got trapped into a big Warbler group hug, but they hugged Bastian between them. Bastian couldn't keep his mouth shut of course.

"Ya know", he said. "I'm gonna steel the groom for a dance later one."

"Pft in your dreams", Justine quipped.

"Don't worry I promise to return him… most of him." But before Justine could answer the Warblers started their second part of the surprise, it was time to get the party started after all. Nathan and Otto blew in a pair of horns and then the Warblers started clapping, stomping and saying: Hey hey hey hey.

Their dance was almost warrior like as they made two rings. One smaller that surrounded Bastian, Justine and Austin. This time Joseph and Mitch joined in. Wes sang lead.

"This is all your fault!" Justine said and pointed at Kim. He just winked at her as their "warrior dance routine" continued.

All the guests cheered and Adam declared the dance floor officially opened. The Warblers lined up in front of Justine, they all wanted to dance with the bride of course. She laughed and let Mark lead her away over the floor. Austin pouted, but Bastian grinned and grabbed his arm.

"Let's go lover boy", he said and dragged him out on the floor. Wes rolled his eyes. Things were back to normal. Well… as normal as a Warbler life could be.

TBC Look I'm not dead. Just been super stressed at work, not having motivation and being stuck. Well at least I'm unstuck now for a little bit at least.
