Chapter 11: Sunset

PART ONE

"Why didn't you just tell him where you found her?" Cassie was pacing around the small bedroom, her eyes red and puffy and hair un-brushed. She looked about as good as she felt, and Felix wasn't helping the matter by glaring at her, his face a scowl.

"Are you taking his side in this?" He snapped, making her take a step back in fear. "I found Rush! Isn't that good enough for you people."

Cassie sighed. She had never seen him like this and it was beginning to scare her. He wasn't being honest with her; she could see it in his eyes and the way he moved. He was being so defensive. She was glad he was safe, she felt the relief wash through her body, but she was also on-edge. "I'm not taking any sides. I just think you should have told him. Can't you see how much he cares about Rush? He was terrified."

"I care about Rush too!" He yelled, making her jump back once more. "I was the one who stayed behind! All Yoyo did was invite strangers into our Garage when he should have stayed behind too. I can't believe you all still let this joke be in charge."

Cassie seemed to shrink a few inches, her whole body slumped. "I don't want us to fight." She said pathetically, feeling suddenly so small and helpless. She expected Felix to break at that…to see a glimpse of her old boyfriend in there somewhere. Instead, his scowl intensified… his face distorted and ugly in its rage.

"And I don't want you to be such a cowardly bitch!" She trembled at this, trying to hold back the tears.

"You don't mean that." She cried, moving her hands to her face. "You can't say that."

Felix frowned. "Yes I can. You left me there alone. You took his side over mine, when I'm the one who is supposed to be your fucking boyfriend!" He kicked off his skates, sitting heavily down on the double unmade bed. "Why don't you go and suck his cock you two-faced slut? I'm off to sleep. I think I deserve it." He laid down flat on the bed, not looking to see Cassie's face as she rushed out of the room, slamming the door behind her with a loud bang.

PART TWO

The sun was setting over Kibogaoka Hill, the warm glow of the sunset reflected off of the still water of the reservoir and the shiny windows of the abandoned houses. Trixie and Beat skated at a slow pace, side by side, along the rickety rooftops.

"So where do these Rudies hang out?" Beat asked, gazing over the pylons and high-rise buildings in the distance. The Hill was old. The houses had been built to accommodate the growing population, stacked on top of each other like dominoes. The population had declined in the first decade of the noughties, making the district obsolete. The houses were cheap and the population poverty stricken. He found himself wondering about Boogie and Garam who had made this place their home. Maybe they saw some kind of twisted charm in the broken streets and run-down shed-like buildings.

Trixie turned to look at him, her caramel skin looked radiant in the orange light and he felt a pang of lust as she smiled at him. "They moved out a few weeks ago. I think they went back to Hikage…that's where they're originally from right?"

Beat frowned, trying to understand. "There's no one here?" He asked, a little confused.

"Not anymore. Luckily your old GG friend isn't much up to date with the comings and goings of Rudie gangs."

"So why did you bring me here?"

Trixie grinned, her eyes playful. "I just wanted you alone."

There was an old abandoned Ford in the park overlooking the reservoir, its blue paint flecked with rust and the tires bald. Beat had picked the lock on the front door and jumped into the driver's seat. Trixie climbed in after him, straddling his lap, her back pressed against the steering-wheel. The roof was low and she bent forwards to keep her tall frame from hitting it.

"Where are we going old-timer?" She grinned, grinding her hips against his jeans, enjoying the way he held back a moan as he hardened beneath her.

"I don't think anyone has driven this thing in years." He smiled, moving his hands along her exposed lower back. "I didn't look at the number plate but I'm guessing this is from the early noughties. They don't make them like this anymore."

"I take it you have a licence?" She replied, adjusting her hips. This time he did moan aloud and her smile widened.

He shook his head. "Never needed one." His moved his hands to her cropped gym top, brushing the hard nubs of her nipples beneath the fabric. She grinded her hips harder, enjoying the sensation of him against her denim shorts.

"You rebel." She whispered, sliding the black tank-top down to expose her breasts. Beat peered up at her through long black eyelashes before moving forward and cupping her in his palm, taking her right nipple into his mouth, his tongue grazing the surface, making her gasp his name out loud.

The park had been abandoned for years. The district was almost empty of life. The houses were beginning to decay, their windows gazed down like dark dead eyes. Nobody would see them.

PART THREE

The Garage was quiet and dark. Yoyo sat alone on the old couch on the upper level, trying to wrap his mind around the day's events. He looked up as Gum joined him on the deck, her eyes dry, she had cried enough already that evening. She gave a wave as she approached him and he smiled gently. She wore a loose-fitting blue cotton dress and her skates, battered and worn, scratched along the ceramic tiles.

"So what's the plan then?" She asked as she sat beside him.

He turned to look at her. "Tomorrow, if Felix is willing to play along, we'll head out to the Skyscraper District again and hopefully this time we'll find something."

"And if we don't?" She asked coldly.

"We'd better just hope Beat and Trix have found something out from the Love Shockers." He sighed. "I'm sorry about Molly, Gum." At this her gaze snapped towards his. "I know it must have been really hard for you to do what you did."

Her expression remained unchanged. "You don't know anything Yoyo." She sighed, standing up to leave. "I just hope we find them soon." She skated slowly towards the stairs as Yoyo lifted his head towards the sky, silently praying.
