"Well, that was easy." Shadow said.

He, along with ML, finished their fight with the Androids in a mere 2 minutes.

ML took a look at Shadow, and did a theatrical bow.

"Hmph." Shadow grunted. "Don't get cocky, robot."

The black hedgehog heard some gears whirring in the yellow and orange robot.

"Whatever." Shadow said, before noticing something on the ground near one of the Androids. "Hey, what's this?"

MEANWHILE, AT EMERALD COAST

"Is the plane patched up yet?" Sonic asked.

"Not yet." Tails said. "Me working with technology without my tools is basically like you trying to run without toes."

"I've tried that before, and I ended up falling into a lake." Sonic said.

"Oh yeah, I remember that." Tails said. "Amy had to swim down to save you, didn't she?"

"Please don't remind me." Sonic muttered, obviously embarrassed.

"What? I think it's nice how she cares for you that much." Tails said, bashing the X Tornado's engine with a rock. "I wish I had someone like that."

Oh my god, keep him out of his usual guilt trips, Sonic. The blue hedgehog thought. Not another word on the subject.

"So, what happened at the talk between you and Amy?" Tails asked.

"Something made me snap out of my feeling for her, and it made the word 'bitch' slip out." Sonic said.

Upon hearing this, Tails stopped bashing the rock. "Sonic... There is something seriously wrong with you."

"No, there is something seriously wrong with the one who got me into that conversation in the first place." Sonic said. "People can plant feelings, it doesn't always make them true."

"You called Amy, the girl who has the strength to destroy the entire Egg Carrier with one swing of her PURSE if she wanted to, a bitch." Tails said.

"I didn't say I called her a bitch, I said the WORD bitch." Sonic said. "As in using the phrase 'son of a bitch'... Just with 'son of a' muttered really quietly... And having a really long space between 'son of a' and 'bitch'."

Tails dropped the rock, and clapped very, very slowly.

AT EGGMAN'S BASE

"What do you MEAN they all got away!?" Eggman shouted at Decoe and Bocoe.

"The communicator in the Androids suddenly went down, along with the the tracker in Metal Sonic." Decoe said.

"Where was Metal Sonic when the tracker went down?" Eggman asked.

"From our records..." Bocoe said, looking at the screen. "Around 5 kilometers northwest from here."

"What about camera feeds?" Eggman asked.

"Nothing was salvaged." Decoe said. "His hard drive may or may not have been damaged."

"AARGH!" Eggman shouted. "No no, it's fine, as long as we're able to get our hands on the seventh Chaos Emerald before they do."

"Do you even know where it is?" Bocoe asked.

"Don't make this worse, or I will have you disassembled." Eggman muttered.

"INRUDER ALERT!" the security system screamed.

"Who is it this time?" Eggman asked. "That pesky hedgehog again?"

"Well... You're not COMPLETELY wrong..." Decoe said, pointing at the security monitor, which has such blurry footage that all he could see was multiple red streaks across the screen.

"WHY IS HE EVEN HERE!?" Eggman shouted. "That stupid rodent... You already bested me once..."

"What are you going to do?" Decoe asked.

"SILVER! Pursue the pyromantic hedgehog." Eggman said.

"'Pyromantic' is not a word, doctor." Bocoe said.

"I won't let him into the control room!" Silver shouted, as he flew through the halls.

Eggman grinned. "I suppose Shadow destroying my Androids had a slight silver lining after all."

IN THE HALLS

"Where are you, you fatass!?" Storm shouted. "I made a knuckle sandwich for you, and it's nice and toasty!"

"Can I have a bite?" another person roaming the halls asked, as Storm slammed into the wall on his right.

The red hedgehog looked up to see the silver hedgehog... Well, Silver.

"It's time to finish this!" Silver shouted.

"Normally, I would agree, but I'm in a hurry right now." Storm said, pulling out a red Chaos Emerald. "Bye."

Before Storm could continue, Silver whipped out his... Again... Silver Chaos Emerald.

"CHAOS CONTROL!" the two said in unison.

An electrical spark appeared in between the two, and a portal opened where the sparks were.

"Oh, so you managed to open the portal FOR me." a deep voice said from the roof.

The two hedgehogs looked up, only to see Shadow drop from the ceiling.

"You again!" Silver shouted, holding him arm out, only to have it caught and squeezed by Storm.

"No need to fight him." Storm said. "After all, your opponent is me."

"You're both idiots." Shadow said, shaking his head.

Storm paused for a second. "On second thought, shoot him. Shoot him in the god damned face."

"Or, you can listen to reason." Shadow said. "Storm, the data you want is right here. I grabbed it from one of the Androids." he added, holding out a data chip to Storm, who quickly swiped it before giving Silver an opportune moment to do anything. "Although, you should know that mostly everything on that data is completely useless. The only way to truly find out about Solaris is to follow me 10 years into the past."

Storm sighed. "Sure, why not." he said, jumping through the portal.

Following him was Shadow, but not quite Silver.

The silver hedgehog stayed behind to look around a bit, questioning whether or not he could trust the two who just took off.

After a while, he made a descision, and leapt through the portal just in time to have it close directly behind him.

OVER TO ML

The yellow robot succeeded in it's objective of stopping the Shadow Androids from catching up to Sonic and Tails, but now ML had to find them.

With that in processor, it decided to run off in the direction of the line of air that was closest to it, heading away from Eggman's base while doing so.

AT THE EMERALD COAST

"Almost done?" Sonic asked. "I have a red hedgehog to punch in the face."

"You mean the red hedgehog who just broke you out of Eggman's prison?" Tails asked. "For the second time?"

"Yes." Sonic said. "That guy gave me a hammer to the face."

"And he could easily do it again." Tails said. "He showed me his weapon."

"It wasn't a HAMMER, buddy." Sonic said. "Still, I'm giving him a 'coup de poing'."

"You know French?" Tails asked, increasing the strength of hitting the rock against the engine.

"No." Sonic said. "But do you not?"

"I don't know why you would expect me to." Tails said. "I'm an engineer, not a translator."

"Don't engineers need to know other languages too?" Sonic asked.

"Where did you get that information?" Tails asked. "The only language on this planet is English!"

That is, unless you're watching the original Japanese animes, or playing the original Japanese games...

Speaking of which, did you know that Dr. Robotnik didn't exist in Japan? In that country, his name was always Dr. Eggman.

And that shocked all of the little kids reading this.

"Whatever. Do you need any help, by chance?" Sonic asked.

"I'm really just hitting the engine trying to get it to work." Tails said.

"Very scientific, buddy." Sonic said.

"Said the mis-coloured 3 foot tall hedgehog who lives on another planet and can change his fur colour and fly by collecting 7 mystically powered emeralds to his best friend, the two-tailed fox who can fly by spinning his tails in a helicopter-like fashion and, although is half your age, has twice your intellect." Tails said.

"Did you just come up with that on the spot?" Sonic asked. "Jeez!"

10 YEARS AGO

Storm, Shadow and Silver dropped out of what appeared to be a small flash, which appeared because of Chaos Control. The three hedgehogs dropped onto a metal floor, making a dull "clang" whenever they took a step.

"I'm getting an odd sense of déjà vu." Storm said, looking around the brightly-coloured metal hallway with technology on the walls. "Anybody else?"

"I guess it kind of resembles Eggman's base." Silver said. "Just a lot brighter."

"Yeah... That's gotta be it." Storm said, as he continued looking around the hallways. Have I been here before?

"We can't be focusing on that right now." Shadow said. "We have to look for the source of Solaris."

Again, what's with that word? Storm asked.

The trio kept walking, until they heard some commotion further down the hall. The three hedgehogs looked at each other, before running towards the commotion. On their way, they heard on explosion, causing Storm to double his speed.

"What's with him?" Silver asked.

"Hmph." Shadow grunted, as the two sped themselves up to catch up with the red hedgehog. Eventually, the three came across a broken window, which looked high up into a circular room, and in the center, there was a circular tube made of glass, although it looks like that broke too.

Crawling out of the tube was a purple liquid, which appeared to be moving on it's own. Flying in the opposite direction was a flame, which, again, appeared to move on it's own.

In the center, however, lay something that would forever change a certain red hedgehog's life forever.

In the middle of the tube, somehow unphased from the explosion, was a red baby hedgehog.

"What is going on?" Storm asked, rubbing his head.

"It doesn't matter. For now, get both your past and present self out of here." Shadow said, completely unphased by the situation. "I'll pursue the shadow of Mephiles."

"Then I'll go after Iblis." Silver said, as the 3 hedgehogs hopped down.

"Wait!" a man in the center of the room shouted. He resembled a fox, kind of like Tails, except he was much older, and had grey hairs instead of white. Was this Tails's dad? "Take this scepter in order to seal Mephiles." he said, handing the scepter to Shadow. "And you," he said, pointing at Storm. "Take the little baby, Sol, and use him to seal Iblis away."

Sol? Storm thought. So this baby... It IS me?

Nevertheless, the red hedgehog picked up the other red hedgehog, and followed Silver to chase Iblis.

EMERALD COAST

"If you're just gonna bang the engine with a rock until it works, can I send out an SOS?" Sonic asked.

"No. We don't want Eggman's robots, androids, or whatever finding us." Tails said.

"If THAT'S your worry, I'd focus more on the skyline the plane left than the plane itself." Sonic said.

"Relax, nobody's smart enough to follow the right one of those." Tails said.

"Then why is there a giant dust cloud getting bigger and bigger?" Sonic asked.

"Hmm?" Tails hummed, dropping the rock, and taking a peak outside the cave the two were hiding in.

There was, indeed, a large dust cloud coming straight their way. In the center of it did in fact appear to be a robot.

But it wasn't Eggman's robot.

"ML!" Tails shouted, flying out of the cave using his tails as helicopter blades, and landing in front of the yellow and orange robot. "Before we leave, could you help us with something? I don't have my tools, and the X Tornado's engine is busted."

The silent robot nodded, and follow the fox back to the cave, where it got to work on the engine.

ML pointed a finger at the engine, shooting a skinny laser at it, fusing together a wire that got damaged.

Once it was fused, ML gave the thumbs up sign.

"And you spent around a half hour bashing it with a rock." Sonic said, hopping in the back seat, followed by Tails hopping in the front, and ML in one of the 2 spare seats.

Tails turned the plane around, and flew it to the lab.

10 YEARS AGO

Shadow finally managed to corner the shadowy liquid known as Mephiles.

"Ah, so, you're finally here." Mephiles said, using a much deeper tone than usual.

Without saying a word, Shadow held the scepter out in front of him, as it started glowing.

"Before I go, I believe I should know the name of the one who defeated me." Mephiles said.

The black hedgehog grunted. "I'm Shadow." he said. "Shadow the Hedgehog."

"Shadow... I'll remember you." Mephiles said, as he was slowly being drained away. "Your name... Your form... I'll remember."

And with that said, he entered the scepter completely, as it stopped glowing, and the usually grey handle became purple.

MEANWHILE, WITH SILVER AND STORM

The silver hedgehog held out his hand, keeping the flames of Iblis as captive as possible.

"What is this?" Iblis asked. "This... Futile attempt to keep me prisoner here for good?"

"He's right, you know." Storm said. "There's only one thing you can do to stop him; at least here."

The teenaged red hedgehog set the baby red hedgehog on a stone table below Iblis, and pulled out a red Chaos Emerald, holding it between the two.

A red beam of flame shot from Iblis into the Chaos Emerald, and then into baby Storm. Slowly, the flames siphoned into the small child.

"Had it have been anybody else doing that, I would have called them a monster." Storm said, once the flames were completely gone.

"So Sonic wasn't the Iblis trigger after all." Silver said.

"That's right, but neither am I." Storm said. "I don't know how what's happening in the future is actually happening, but I can assure you, I have no intentions of dying anytime soon."

"Then... What are you?" Silver asked.

Storm took a deepth breath. "I am the key to the success of the Solaris project, which was basically just stopped." he said. "I am Sol, the Solaris Trigger."

"So if you knew that, why did you just put this huge burden on yourself?" Silver asked.

"If I didn't the future you live in would become the one I live in." Storm said. "I had to take extreme measures to make sure that doesn't happen."

"But it still happens!" Silver shouted. "My future is still in ruins!"

"I do not know why that happens." Storm said. "But trust me. If you end up killing me, that future is gonna get a lot worse."

Silver said nothing.

"Come on. We'll figure out the rest later, right now we should be getting back." Storm said, picking baby Storm up.

Silver nodded, and the two ran outside to meet Shadow.

OUTSIDE

Silver and Storm waited not too long for Shadow to show up, holding the scepter.

Before anybody could say a word, Storm laid his past-self down, against a tree.

Shadow put the Scepter down next to him.

"Why would you leave it here?" Storm asked.

"In case you haven't realized it yet, time paradoxes are bullshit." Shadow said. "If I take the scepter with me, it won't change the fact that Mephiles will come out of it, be born of my shadow, and send the two of us into the future."

Storm sighed. "Alright, let's head out." he said.

First, Silver hopped through the portal. Following him was Shadow. Afterwards, Storm jumped through. He wasn't going to his normal time period, however.

100 YEARS LATER

"Mephiles, someone's here." Iblis said.

"Is it the silver hedgehog with the cat ready to seal you away?" Mephiles asked.

"No, it's not." Iblis said. "It's our old home."

The statement put a grin on Mephiles's face (hard to achieve without a mouth to grin with, huh?)

"Sol..." Mephiles muttered.

Whew... That took a while. Just so you guys know, there will be no SonAmy in this FanFic... Well... Maybe at the end, but after that, it won't have happened anyways. Just thought I'd point that out, in case I was kind of leaning towards it.

Anyways, hope you liked it. If you didn't go eat a freaking McDonald's cheeseburger... Which kind of cheeseburger, I don't really care.
