CHAPTER TWELVE: The Party

The glow the moon provided in the night sky illuminated the whole kingdom like a giant nightlight. There was not a cloud in the sky so the stars could be seen twinkling around, like fairies dancing in the night. The weather was perfect, and Anna's ball was going on without a hitch.

Elsa was still in her room, getting ready for the masquerade ball when Eunice came in with a tray of tea.

"Have some tea Elsa, it'll calm your nerves." Eunice could sense the anxiety resting in Elsa's eyes, like she was unsure if that was the right thing she should do. Despite being only two years older, Eunice has already matured. Due to the fact that she had two smaller brothers to feed including her mother who wasn't doing all too well, she did the best she could.

Eunice poured the tea into a cup and handed it to Elsa. "Careful, it's hot." She said.

Elsa gladly took the tea and blew the steam. She then took a sip, careful not to drink too much to burn her tongue. Her eyes settled on Eunice's brown ones.

"What?" Eunice asked.

Elsa took another sip from her tea before replying.

"Nothing. Well, I just wanted to say thank you for what you did. You know, the emotions and stuff." Sincerity was flooding through her voice.

Eunice was suddenly struck by guilt and fear. She forgot to tell her master that the effect wouldn't last forever. She gripped her hands together with a force that made them perspire cold sweat. A sheepish smile crawled up to her face.

"Yeah about that, I kind of forgot to tell you that it is only temporary and that-"

Elsa almost spit out her tea but luckily she didn't. She just stared at Eunice with wide eyes. When she gulped down the liquid sitting in her mouth she asked her maid in disbelief, "What?"

"Please let me finish, Elsa," Eunice had found her courage to tell Elsa the truth.

Elsa bobbed her head, indicating that Eunice continued.

"Like I said the effect only temporary and will only last for a few days. The time limit actually depends on how bad and how much bad vibes you're dealing with. I only managed to trick your brain into thinking that your memories were only bad dreams, but it's only a matter of time your brain figures out it's been tricked. The only way for it to be permanent is if you do it yourself. If you're powerful enough, you can even alter your own memories, change them into new, happy ones. But only you can do it." By this time, Eunice had already found a seat beside Elsa on her bed, her right arm placed on Elsa's left shoulder.

"Wow Eunice, you seem to know a lot of things. Anyway, thank you again."

There was a small pause before Elsa spoke again.

"So how long do you think this effect will last?"

"How long do you want it to last?" Eunice gave her a smile on encouragement.

Elsa let out a small laugh. "You're a riddle Eunice."

"I know, Your Majesty, I know. You should be good until the day after tomorrow."

"Oh." Elsa looked down to the floor with a frown.

"Come on now, let's not worry about a future that we're not sure about. Let's focus on what is going to happen now. Lighten up, you're supposed to see your friends tonight."

"You're right." Elsa said and stood up with a smile.

"I'm always right." Eunice joked. They both laughed together.

"Do you think I'll get caught?" The princess asked her maid who was busy putting on her wig.

"No." Eunice simply replied. She was too caught up in fixing Elsa's hair she didn't have time to concentrate on their conversation.

"What if they don't recognize me?" Elsa glanced at Eunice's reflection in the mirror.

"I think your boyfriend still knows what you look like." Eunice grinned.

"It's been two years! A lot can change in all that time- wait Jack is not my boyfriend!" She exclaimed defensively.

"I didn't say who your boyfriend is though…so that means he is."

"Eunice!" Elsa jumped up and turned to face the giggling maid.

"Wait! Your hair!" Eunice gasped in horror.

"Whoops." Said Elsa when she turned to face the mirror. She sat back down and silently apologized to Eunice, who in return stated it was her own fault.

"Alright. Your hair is done. Hmm." Eunice walked around to get in front of the princess.

"I don't suppose you know how to put on make-up, do you?" Eunice questioned with her left hand holding her chin and her right eyebrow raised as if she was thinking.

"No. Mother usually does it for me."

"That's alright. I'll go get her." Eunice said while walking to the door. "I'll be right back" she assured before closing the door and walked through the hallways in search of the Queen.

Before she could get back, Elsa heard heavy footsteps coming towards the door. She knew this wasn't Eunice or her mother. She knew whose footsteps those belonged to. It could only be her father.

Her heart started to beat abnormally fast. She took quick shallow breaths while her eyes darted around the room to look for an excuse not to see him. When her eyes settled on the door to her bathroom, she ran to it as fast as she could and locked the door.

There were a few knocks on her door before her father called her name.

"Elsa?"

She didn't answer, she just stood there leaning against the door, silently listening to his actions.

"Elsa, are you in there?" the sound came from outside her bedroom, he didn't come in, she thought. This was when Elsa decided to answer.

"Yeah, I'm just washing up for dinner." She shouted, to make sure he heard her.

"Alright. I'm just checking."

Elsa slowly opened the door and poked her head out to check if he left. When she confirmed that the coast was clear, she made her way back to her vanity and patiently waited for Eunice and her mother.

After a few minutes, she heard the door open. She jerked her head to see her mother walk in with Eunice behind her.

"Oh, Elsa. You look absolutely beautiful. Are you sure she still needs make-up?" Gerda said, the last sentence intended for the maid.

"Mother…" Elsa said as a wave of bashfulness flooded over her. Her cheeks glowed a bright pink.

"Well, your Highness, it wouldn't be necessary since she'll be wearing a mask but just as a part of her disguise, she would definitely need it."

"Very well." The Queen said. They spent a few minutes on the make-up and then they were done.

"So uh, what country am I supposed to be from?" Elsa asked as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.

"The Kingdom of Fjordane." The Queen said proudly.

"Fjordane? Isn't that where Aunt Jodi lives?" Elsa asked.

"Yes, my dear."

"Gosh, I haven't seen Aunt Jodi in a long time."

"Well, my sister has always been the workaholic type and since your Uncle George died, she's been busy managing the kingdom herself."

"Aunt Jodi is a very strong person. That's why I admire her so."

"She is." Gerda smiled.

"Alright, the party's going to start soon. You should get down there, young lady." Gerda said when she glanced at the clock.

"Okay. Thanks, Mama." Elsa gave her mother a kiss on the cheek. She went over to Eunice and gave her a hug. "Thank you, Eunice."

"All in a day's work, Your Highness."

Elsa then opened the door to see if anyone was around. When she confirmed that mostly everyone was downstairs, she quietly made her way to the ballroom. She came in from the kitchen, making up an excuse that she got lost on her way to the bathroom.

When she finally arrived in the ballroom, she immediately started searching for Jack. She hadn't seen him in a long time and she could barely imagine what he would look like. To make things worse, it was a masquerade ball. Everyone was wearing masks, even the waiters and servants. The King and Queen were the only ones who weren't so it was easy for Elsa to steer clear of them.

Just when she was in the middle of the crowd, the band started to play and the guests each grabbed a partner and started to dance.

Elsa was unluckily chosen by a young man who was clearly older then she was. She groaned and mentally cursed at the musicians for such awful timing.

"You look lovely tonight." The young man told her as they started to waltz. Elsa blushed at the compliment, but because of her mask, he didn't notice.

"O-oh uh…thanks?" was all she could muster up. Despite being behind a mask, Elsa could still tell that this person was handsome. Her thoughts made her blush even harder.

He chuckled lightly before continuing.

"So, mind if I ask what your name is?"

"Uh…my name? It's uh…well-"

"Are you alright? You seem to have forgotten your own name." He beamed.

"I'm sorry, it's El- I mean yes, it's Eliza." The man chuckled again before speaking.

"So, where are you from Eliza?"

"Fjordane."

"Okay, Eliza of Fjordane, let me introduce myself. I am Prince Christian of the Southern Isles" he said proudly.

"But I'd like you to call me 'Chris'."

Elsa nodded.

He gave Elsa a twirl to which she was almost knocked off balance and accidentally stepped of Chris's foot.

"I'm sorry, I don't do this often." Elsa apologized, embarrassment prevalent in her voice.

When Chris got a hold of Elsa's right hand again, he noticed the drop in temperature.

"My, what a cold hand you have. Are you nervous?"

"No, I just...I get that a lot."

They didn't talk after that, they just let the music stop and they were on their separate ways. However, before Elsa could get far, the Prince grabbed her hand and said, "When you're ready for another round, I'll be right here."

"Yeah, sure." She hastily said before jerking her hand out of his grasp.

She began her search again, and when she got tired she decided to sit down on a bench against the wall. She was too busy scanning the room and didn't notice a few people sit down beside her. The person closest to her began to speak.

"What was that all about?"

The voice made Elsa freeze. It was oddly familiar but sounded strange all the same. She turned to face the person, but due to the mask, she couldn't make out who it was. She felt a force hit her foot and looked down to see the cause of it. It was the person's feet, rubbing together as if trying to take the boots off.

She gazed into his dark brown eyes, as if trying to remember a memory. She began asking,

"Do your shoes hurt you?"

"No, I just feel weird wearing shoes. Unless of course, their ice skates, then they don't bother me at all." His voice sounded playful and mischievous, like he knew who she was but she didn't know who he was.

She gazed intently into his dark brown eyes, as if trying to recall a forgotten memory.

"You still haven't answered my question." He said.

"I'm sorry. What was that again?" She smiled. Even though she only had the slightest idea of who this person could be, she still felt comfortable talking to him.

"I asked you what the dancing was all about." He said in an almost protective tone.

"Uh…" Elsa felt uneasy, like the conversation turned from comfortable to weird. She stood up and was about to walk away but the person grabbed her hand, almost pulling her glove off.

"Elsa" he said firmly. She instantly grew nervous at the words. Her eyes widened. She tried to run away but the person wouldn't let go of her hand.

"Let go of me!"

"Hey, hey calm down." He said. He slowly removed his mask.

"It's just me."

She focused her eyes on studying his face. He looked so oddly familiar, yet so strange. It took a few seconds for her to observe every tiny detail of his face before realization hit her square in the face. Two years of not seeing each other have taken its toll on Elsa.

"Jack?!" she almost gasped.

"The one and only" he smirked.

"Gods! I almost didn't recognize you!"

"Yeah, I heard the same thing from Anna."

"I mean seriously, you are"

"Strikingly handsome?" he smirked.

"Pfft." She began to giggle.

"You are just like your sister."

"What can I say? I taught her everything she knows."

"Not everything"

"Well not everything-everything I just-"

The band's music cut her off.

"Shall we?" Jack asked while holding a hand out.

"Why not." She replied and they walked to the center of the ballroom.

"So how did you know it was me?" Elsa asked.

"Are you kidding me? I'd know your voice from anywhere."

"Well that's sweet." She said semi-sarcastically.

Jack didn't seem to hear what she said because he didn't leave a remark.

Due to their lack of experience dancing on an actual ballroom, Elsa accidentally bumped into another couple and lost balance. Luckily Jack caught her, aside from her shawl which fell to the ground, revealing her dress that lacked of decency.

"Sorry" Elsa said to the couple who only smiled back in return.

She bent her knees to get her shawl that laid on the floor and noticed Jack staring at her. Her cleavage specifically. When Elsa was standing up again, she gently slapped his cheek and returned the shawl to its place on her shoulders.

"It's rude to stare." Elsa snapped.

"I'm sorry. You've grown so-"

"Shut it" she cut him off. She did not want to hear what he was going to say.

"Sorry." She saw the visible part of his face flush red.

"Why are you wearing that dress anyway?" he said in a protective tone. Let's not forget he was like Elsa's brother.

"It's part of my disguise. I wanted to see you guys so badly but my father won't let me out. If it weren't for my mother, I wouldn't be here right now. How is my sister doing, by the way?"

"You mean you haven't seen your sister?"

"No. Ever since father convinced me to stay in my room, well I almost never got out."

Jack immediately felt pity for his friend. He mouthed an 'O' at her.

They tried for a while but no matter how hard they tried, they just weren't used to dancing on solid ground.

"Want to try outside?" Jack suggested.

"I'm sorry I'm just afraid to use my powers." Elsa got his little hint that he wanted her to make an ice rink outside, but she wasn't ready to let loose the forces that were silently gnawing at her soul.

"I understand." He said as he recalled the King's confession two years ago. He promised not to tell anyone, and he didn't.

"You always do. Thank you for that."

"Now don't get all squishy on me and start crying. We're past that part right?" he joked.

"Whatever." She smiled and let her cheeks heat up.

"Seriously, we aren't getting anywhere. How about a break?"

Elsa nodded. Jack led them to where Merida and Hiccup were sitting.

"Where's your sister?" She asked Jack.

"With your sister."

*At Elsa's room just when Elsa went down to the party*

"You should get dressed. The party is starting soon." Gerda said to Elsa's maid.

"But Your Majesty-"

"Here." She handed Eunice a dark blue ball gown in which she got from Elsa's wardrobe.

"But-"

"It's alright. It's too big for Elsa, besides, she said she didn't like it."

Eunice just stared at the Queen in disbelief.

"Go on now, before I change my mind."

"Yes Your Majesty. Thank you!" Eunice exclaimed in glee and scurried to the dressing room to change.

"Guys." Jack grabs Merida's shoulder. Four people turned to face them. One had a blue on with wild orange curly hair all over the place who was easily identified as Merida. One had dark brown hair and wore a suit. Part of his left leg was made of metal, like he had been into some sort of accident. Another one had her blonde hair fixed in an updo and she was wearing a lime green dress. Her shoes were of the same color of green with white puffs near the tips. Beside her stood a man with red hair and wore a suit of a dark blue.

"Who is this?" Merida asked almost bitterly. She narrowed her eyes at the girl in purple, whose arm was interlocked with Jack's. Elsa narrowed her eyes at her as well.

"It's Elsa" he leaned in a bit and said softly.

Hiccup's and Merida's eyes widened while the other two stared in confusion. However Merida narrowed her eyes once again and stared at her intensely from head to foot.

"It doesn't matter who she is." Hiccup heard her grumble. Apparently the others didn't.

"Woah, woah. No need to be so hostile." Hiccup placed an arm on Merida's shoulder. Jack only glared.

"Hey, you can't have all the ladies. Leave some for me." He joked.

"Can someone please tell me what is going on?" Elsa looked at each of their faces with confusion.

"Jack didn't tell you yet?" Merida asked proudly.

"About what?" Elsa jerked her head to look at Jack.

"Uhuhuh" he laughed sheepishly while rubbing the nape of his neck.

"You know what? I'm gonna go get a drink." Hiccup said and left the scene. Apparently Elsa could feel the tension and decided to go with him.

"Yeah me too." She instantly followed behind him.

"Okay, since Jack is a chicken to tell me. What is going on?" Elsa said almost frustrated.

"Well you know how Jack had a little crush on her two years ago? Well obviously she's his girlfriend now."

"Well that's not surprising. Since when did they get together?"

"I don't know. A week maybe, after you left."

"What?!" She felt a knife of betrayal stab her in the chest. She didn't know where it came from and she didn't know why it was there. What she did know though, was that the feeling wasn't pleasant.

"I know. Even I was shocked."

"So uh, what happened to your leg?" Elsa changed the subject.

"Oh you mean this thing?" He stomped his metal left rapidly to the floor to make it clatter.

"Long story, and it involves a dragon."

"What? A dragon? You mean a real one?! What happened?"

"I'll tell you some other time. For now let's enjoy the evening."

Suddenly there was the clatter of silver against glass. The whole room fell silent except for one person.

"First of all, I would like to thank all you for coming. Really, thanks. And thank you Mama and Papa for this wonderful party. Please eat your fill and have a great day- I mean night."

"That's Anna!" she whispered. She watched her sister smile at the guests and laugh together with Holly. She almost regretted not spending enough time with her because of her long visits at Burgess. There is only one thing you cannot give up on and it is family. In that moment she just realized that and felt guilty. Had she neglected her own sister over some random boy who loves to pull pranks and cause mischief? No, she thought to herself, but the other part of her brain wants her to admit the truth. Maybe she did, and maybe she wanted to make it up to Anna.

And in that moment unbeknownst to Elsa that she just made a crucial decision.

"Come on, let's get something to eat. I'm starving!" Hiccup's voice snapped her back into reality.

"Oh right." She followed him to the buffet table in the great hall and got some food.

"This should be enough." Hiccup remarked at the mountain of food on his plate.

"When was the last time you ate?" Elsa asked as they made their way to the tables.

"About ten hours ago." Hiccup blankly answered as he searched for vacant seats.

"No wonder." She said, holding back a giggle.

"Ah! Here we go. A whole table to ourselves. Let's hope the lovebirds find us here." He said right when he sat down. The table was long and rectangular, made for six people. Around them were the same long rectangular tables occupied by the other guests. At the front and center was where the royal family sat. It was where the royal family of Corona sat as well.

"Speaking of, who are the other two who were with you?" She asked before she started to dig into her meal.

"The blonde haired girl is Merida's cousin, Bell while the red haired one is Bell's boyfriend Peter." Hiccup explained in between chomps.

"They're only visiting for a month and after that they're going back to London." He continued.

"London? In England?" Elsa asked.

"Yup." He confirmed after he gulped down the food in his mouth.

"Wow. I thought they were from Scotland or something. Oh well, close enough I guess."

"There they are! Hey guys! Over here!" Hiccup yelled at the two couples, waving his arms around to capture their attention. Each of them were carrying plates, walking towards them.

Bell and Peter sat on the opposite ends, while Hiccup and Elsa sat side-by-side on the long side of the table. Merida and Jack sat opposite to them, with Hiccup opposite to Jack and Elsa opposite to Merida. [Dudes, do you get it? Here.]

"So since you obviously haven't met my cousin yet, this is Bell and that one over there is her boyfriend, Peter." Merida introduced in a way that would annoy Elsa.

"Actually Hiccup already told me but nice meeting you two." She turned to face each Bell and Peter.

"Nice to meet you too." Peter said with a smile. Bell pretended to clear her throat and glared at him. Peter's smile was instantly wiped off his face. Elsa noticed their behavior and concluded, I guess it just runs in their family.

"You noticed too?" Hiccup whispered in her ear.

"Did I say that out loud?" she whispered back.

"You kind of whispered it but I certainly heard what you said."

"Ahem." Merida quietly coughed to get their attention. All eyes were on the two with different expressions.

"Sorry." Elsa apologized and Merida let go of her glare and turned to Jack.

A conversation commenced among the young people but unbeknownst to all of them was a secret quarrel between two dark entities.

"Chaos, I see our paths have crossed once again." The deep feminine voice spoke out.

"Ah, my dear Snow Queen, it's been a while. What ever happened to that annoying wind of the north?" Chaos replied back. Although its voice was represented by a male, chaos had no specific gender. It was simply an entity, a dark entity. It had no allies and no enemies. All it ever does is cause chaos, hence its name. It feeds upon misfortune, bad vibes, fear, and everything that is the opposite of good. Chaos is everywhere, and only the strongest of people could get rid of it from their bodies by themselves.

"Your power does not work on me. Although I am weak, I can still best you." The Snow Queen retorted.

"Oh of course you can…but can she? This little girl is no more fragile than broken glass." It taunted.

"Hah! I know what you want Chaos! But this 'fragile little girl' is mine! I will not permit you to enter her body while I'm still around!"

"Then I'll just have to find a way to destroy you. And then the power of the moon will be mine!"

"Never!"

"Are we having a staring contest here?" Peter happily asked.

"Elsa, are you alright?" Hiccup gently shook her shoulders. Suddenly Elsa snapped back into reality and felt a bit of a headache. She put her left hand on her forehead and asked the others, "What just happened?". She almost fell out of her chair but luckily Hiccup caught her. The same thing happened to Merida.

"You were staring at each other for like five minutes. It was scary." Jack explained.

Elsa was taken aback. She quickly checked around to see if her powers had somehow leaked out of her control. Fortunately, there wasn't a sign of wintery magic anywhere to be seen.

"Yeah, and both your eyes turned pale." Hiccup remarked.

"Are you alright?" Elsa could hear Jack say to Merida softly.

"I'm fine, I just have a small headache." She gently told him.

It was a bad idea coming here. The Snow Queen said to her.

For once I have to agree with you. She thought back reluctantly. She thought she could hear a faint laugh but decided to brush it off.

"Jack, where's the necklace I gave you?" she asked him when she noticed its absence on his neck.

"Oh uh, Merida said I would look more manly if I didn't wear it." He beamed.

Wrong answer. She thought.

"So where is it?" She pressed.

"In my pocket." Elsa frowned at his answer. She had worked so hard on it and he wouldn't even wear it. She felt hurt.

She glanced at Merida who was smirking at her. After a few minutes of awkward silence…

"I'm going to get some fresh air." She said and stood up.

"I'm going with you." Hiccup attempted to follow her.

"Thank you but I just need some time to myself." She hesitantly said. She bit her lip.

"You've had two years Elsa. Was that not enough?" Jack had stood up too, his voice filled with anger. Based on his expression he was probably mad at her, because his eyebrows were furrowed and his lips were pursed.

Elsa was dumbfounded. Not once in her entire life had Jack yelled at her. Her eyes widened with fear. She could feel her eyes tear up. Oh no, not again. She thought to herself. She believed that she was over with crying. She thought she was ready to face the world. But who knew all that courage and strength could be brought down by one person. Walls started to build up between them fast.

As soon as Jack noticed what he had done, he was instantly filled with regret. He wasn't sure where that came from, it just happened. His face softened and his eyes were full of worry.

"Elsa…" he mumbled. Before he could apologize, Elsa had already walked out of the scene.

Jack started after her, but Merida grabbed his hand.

"She just needs some alone time." She said in the most sincere way possible.

"I was just going to get a drink." He used as an excuse and jerked his hand out of her grasp. Merida, however, wasn't convinced but stayed where she was with a displeased face. The others, except for Hiccup, had no idea what was going on so they decided to leave them be and continued their conversation.

"I'm going to greet the birthday girl." Hiccup excused himself, but Merida grabbed a hold of him and sat him back down.

"Oh nononono. You're not going anywhere."

"So, you like me?" He asked. His question only earned a small slap on his cheek.

"Sorry, no harm in asking." Merida only glared.

Elsa made her way to her room as fast as she could and shut the door behind her. She leaned on it for support but eventually gravity led her down to the floor. She was crying, not only because her best friend yelled at her, but also because she chose him over her sister. She recalled past memories and thought to herself how stupid she was. If she didn't return to that village she would be happily living with her sister who didn't at all gave her this much pain. She felt guilty for neglecting her own sister. She who would never leave her, over some kid she knew she had to let go sooner or later. How could she not see this coming? Or if she did, why did she choose this path? Many questions swirled around in her head but not even a single answer came. Maybe she should have listened to her father, than to act childishly. But isn't it in the nature of a child to be childish? She was so confused at that moment and so she didn't want to think anymore. She forcefully took off her mask and flung it across the room. But along with the gesture, a blast of magic hit the wall and spikes of ice began to grow from it. She could feel the floor get covered in frost and the temperature of the room drop dramatically. However it didn't bothered her, like it always never did. She could feel snowfall in her room, but this didn't stop her from sitting on her vanity and wiping clean her face that was full of make-up. She froze when she heard a knock on her door.

"Elsa?" It was only Jack. She sighed in relief but then she got tense again.

"Go away, Jack." She yelled.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I was stupid. I shouldn't have shouted at you. I don't know what came over me. I just suddenly felt angry and I let out on you. I swear I'll find a way to make it up to you…I promise."

"How about you jump in the fjord and drown yourself." She said bitterly through the door.

"Why are you even angry at me? I don't understand. I've known you all my life and now I don't even know who you are. Please don't leave me in the dark."

I don't even know who I am…she sadly said to herself. Even though she was busy changing into her nightgown, she still listened to everything he was saying. She wanted to open the door wide and hug him until he couldn't breathe but pride was holding her back, and she had a lot of it.

After that Jack had nothing else to say. There was a few minutes of deafening silence and she assumed he had left. Until she heard footsteps walking down the hallway.

"Ahem." She heard the voice fake a cough.

"Wake up!" The voice demanded. Elsa easily identified this as her maid.

"Eunice?" She called out. "Who are you talking to?"

"Elsa? Your Highness, are you aware of the young man asleep on the floor in front of your door?"

Jack fell asleep? She thought. She opened the door slowly but the weight of the boy leaning on it caused it to open furiously, causing and him to hit his head on the cold, frozen, snow-covered floor. His eyes flew open and instantly sprang to his feet with a startled look. Jack glanced at the lady in front of him wearing a dark blue dress and a white mask and his gaze darted to the girl behind him who was in a nightgown.

"Elsa?" He asked, eyes begging for an explanation.

"You fell asleep on my door." Elsa explained with impatience settling in her voice. Her arms were crossed and she had the expression of distaste plastered on her face.

"Sorry about that." He quickly returned his gaze to Eunice.

"Who is this?" he asked curiously.

"I should be asking you the same question." Eunice said with the same impatient look on her face.

"What are you doing disturbing the princess?" She asked in a protective tone.

"Eunice I'll take it from here. You can go back to the party." Elsa's voice softened.

"Not until he leaves."

"It's only Jack, besides I have ice powers. He can't harm me."

"Alright, but you will be held responsible if anything happens to her." She eyed him intensely before leaving.

"What was that all about?" Jack asked.

"Quiet! I'm still mad at you." She said as she pulled him outside and headed to the nearest balcony. A trail of frost followed her every footstep.

"That's what I don't understand. Why?"

His question remained unanswered so he asked again.

"Why are you mad at me Elsa?"

"Elsa?"

"I don't know!" She exclaimed, a blast of ice shot out from both her hands. Apparently she was holding Jack's hand, causing the magic to flow into his hand and all over his body, paralyzing him, but fortunately not to the extent of turning him into an ice statue.

"Jack!" She rushed to catch him. But Jack was already on the floor, taking in shallow, short breaths, his eyes almost rolled into the back of his head. She took of his mask and dropped it somewhere on the floor.

"Stay with me." She gasped, tears were already flowing down her cheeks. She put a hand below his head, acting like a pillow against the cold, hard floor.

"Jack, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." She sobbed. Her head snapped to see if anyone was around.

"Help! Help!" She began to cry out. Suddenly two guards came rushing into the hallway to her aid.

"Princess Elsa!" One of them said.

"I'm fine. It's Jack, take him to the clinic immediately!" She ordered.

"Right away, Your Highness."

Without hesitation, they slowly began to pick up his body.

"Ow!" Jack complained.

"Careful!" Elsa scolded. The two guards instantly followed her orders and carried him as gently as they could to the clinic, with Elsa silently following behind them.

They laid him on a soft white bed where he would feel more comfortable. His vision was hazy and blurred and his life flashed before his eyes.

"Jack, stay with me, please!" She pleaded as an endless number of tears flowed down her cheeks. The doctor was silently checking him up, trying to find out what exactly happened to him.

"I'll be right back." He said and disappeared into another room.

Jack slowly reached into his pocket and took the necklace out; grimacing at every wrong move he would make to hurt him badly.

"Stop it. You're hurting yourself more."

"Elsa…the necklace…" He forced himself to speak even if it required every ounce of energy he had left. He could feel himself slipping away but he was holding on to something that wouldn't let him drown in the depths.

Elsa couldn't help but regret her earlier doings. She felt a searing pain in her whole being. How could she?

Jack held on to the necklace, his eyes fixed on Elsa. He was trying to tell her something but she was too busy grieving over something that hasn't happened yet.

"Elsa…" he said barely under his breath. Her attention transferred to him and then to the necklace.

She wasn't quite sure if it was pure instinct, or if that something told her to do it, but she held onto his hand with the necklace in it and brought it to his chest. What happened next was incredible.

The necklace started to glow and suddenly all of the magic that was pushed into his body was sucked into the crystal, making it a tiny bit bluer. Elsa let out a small gasp. Jack only smiled, eyes brimming with pure joy.

Her eyes widened, and a giant smile appeared on her face. Her tears stopped flowing. The doctor who was ready to give him an elixir stared in awe as the scene unfolded before him. And before he knew it, his patient was back on his feet, smiling at him.

"It's okay now doctor." Elsa told the physician. They slowly made their way out of the clinic and back to Elsa's room. Since Jack was still a bit weak, Elsa had to support him as they walked.

"Hey, say something. You've been silent ever since we were in the clinic." Jack said. They were now in her room, both seated on the chairs that faced the fireplace. Elsa's eyes were fixed on the fire, but her mind wondered someplace else.

She turned to face him, a blank expression plastered on her face. In the blink of an eye, she clung onto him as if he would leave her like he almost did half an hour ago. In the blink of an eye, she swallowed her pride and let her true emotions show. And in the blink of an eye, he forgave her.

A/N: I suppose that is enough for now. You know, I suggest you read this story slowly and passionately to soak up all the trashiness this story has to offer. Except of course for the action scenes, if there happens to be any. I highly doubt that.

Thank you again for all the reviews and follows and whatever. Sorry if you have unanswered questions. I am the Queen of slackers if there is such a title. Anyway, hi and bye!
