Do Not Own.
During the day Caesar spent a lot of time working on the meta-nanite locator. At night over dinner we'd talk about our parents and what they did. I found out I was born in Switzerland and grew up in the place that is now the Abysus. I learned that mom was from Mexico and dad was from Argentina. But I honestly couldn't remember any of it.
I had so many questions but the evening was only so long. I had to get my information piecemeal.
Since there was nothing to do until Caesar finished the locator, I just sat around playing video games with Bobo or training with Six.
Six was pushing me real hard during training.
"Oww, Six!" I protested. "Take it easy."
"Your swing's getting sloppy." Six just said as he knocked me on the floor. "Work on it."
"How's this?" I swung my BFS at him suddenly.
He easily moved out of the way. My sword hit the wall and got stuck.
"Like I said, sloppy." He knocked my feet from under me. "If you hope to beat Van Kleiss, you have to stay in top form."
"Thanks for the tip." I grumbled rubbing my backside.
He looked like he was about to attack again but held out his hand instead, "Get some rest. We'll go again tomorrow."
I looked at him in surprise. I took his hand and he pulled me up. He folded his blades up and walked out of the room.
Curious on why he cut our training short, not that I minded, I quietly followed him. I watched as he walked into Doc's makeshift lab. The door swished close. I carefully tiptoed to the door and put my ear to see what was going on.
"You should get some rest, Rebecca." Wait, since when did Six call Doc by her first name?
"I can't, Six. I need to find her." Rebecca sounded like she was about to cry.
"She could be anywhere." Six of course was devoid of any emotion.
"Don't you think I know that!" Woah, I never heard Doc snap at Six like that.
There was awkward silence.
"I..I'm sorry." I heard Doc softly say.
"You're not going to be any good to her or anyone else if you are dead on your feet." Six said gently.
Who are they talking about? I wondered. I heard footsteps toward the door. I quickly and quietly ran around the corridor. I heard Six and Doc walked out. I peeked my head around the corner to make sure the coast was clear before I stepped out.
What could be making Doc so sad? Who was she looking for? And since when did Six care?
"Rex!" A voice snapped behind me.
"I don't know anything!" I yelped. Turning around I saw White Knight looking at me funny.
"Yes, we already know that. Meeting in 20 minutes. Your brother finished making a tracker for those meta-nanites and has located one." He turned and walked away shaking his head.
My brother's done with the tracker? That meant it was show time. I quickly ran to my room to clean up. As I showered and dressed the thought of my brother made me think of family. Holiday had a sister. I stopped in the middle of pulling my shirt on. That's right she had a sister who was an incurable. Last I saw her she was put back into the Hole in the Petting Zoo. What had happen to the original Providence base? I felt really guilty. I hadn't given a single thought to what had happen to the people there, to Holiday's sister, or even Noah for that matter. This was the first time I was giving any of these people any thought. Boy, was I selfish. Well, I'm going to make it all right. I'm going to find those meta-nanites and stop Van Kleiss. With new determination I stepped out of my room. I was going to do what Rylander had charged me with. I was going to save the world.

I was the last one to arrive at the meeting room. Typical. White gave me "the look" before he passed out some files to each of us. We opened them and looked through it. I honestly couldn't understand a word it said. I waited for someone to tell me what we had to do.
"Dr. Salazar has traced one of the meta-nanites to Hong Kong." White said. "I want Six, Rex and Bobo to go and find it. Holiday and Caesar I'll need you here to locate the next meta-nanite. Hong Kong is now ruled by some gangster EVO named Quarry. He is ruthless. Van Kleiss has basically left him to his own devices so who knows what the situation is like there." Knight scowled at us.
"Don't worry. I got this." I said confidently. "We'll find that meta-nanite before Van Kleiss even knows what hit him."
"Hmmph. Just make sure you get that meta-nanite." Knight said.

Bobo piloted the jump jet while Six read through the dossier again. I was supposed to read mine but I just skimmed through a few paragraphs. I was actually thinking about other things.
"Hey, Six? I was wondering about what happened to Captain Calan and the other people at Providence."
Six was silent.
"Six?" I asked again.
Six sighed, "We lost many good people when Van Kleiss took over."
"Captain Calan?"
Six was quiet again.
"Oh." I said. I thought a moment. "What about Noah?"
"We got him and his family to a safe house." Six answered.
"And Holiday's sister?" I ventured to see if I can get any more information.
Six pulled his file up again. "Rex, worry about the mission at hand." It was his way of saying he wasn't answering the question. We sat in silence.
Ten hours later we were on the roof of a building overlooking the Hong Kong streets.
"According to this tracker the meta-nanite is buried deep under the streets here." Six said evenly.
"Great. A trip down the sewers. Saving the world is so glamorous." I grumbled.
"Hey, at least you don't have fur. You know how long I have to shampoo to get the smell out?" Bobo countered.
"Quiet." Six held up a hand. We all peered over the edge of the roof. A limo pulled up to the building and a rock man stepped out.
"That's Quarry." Six nodded to the man. Three other EVOs stepped out with him. The bandaged EVO ran to get the door for Quarry. The pale green EVO boy and insect-like EVO girl followed behind.
"Looks like Quarry has some security around him." Six noted. "But question is why is he here?"
"Do you think he's looking for the meta-nanite?" I asked alarmed.
"It's possible." Six admitted. "We need to get under the streets now."
"Well, the fastest way is to go through that." Bobo pointed to a manhole.
"Let's go." I said eager to get this moving.
"And how exactly are we going to get down there undetected? It's not like we don't stick out like sore thumbs." Bobo asked. Six pointed a small flatbed truck with a canvas covering.
A few minutes later, Bobo had hotwired the vehicle. Six and I snuck in the back. Bobo drove the truck over the manhole cover. Six using his blades sliced a hole in the bottom of the flatbed. We could see the cover. I formed my combat drill and drilled straight through. We climbed down the stairs into the darkness. Six lit an electric torch so we could see. He checked the tracker.
"This way." He motioned with the torch. I followed close to him. I could hear things scurrying around me. Rats. I shuddered. Not that I was afraid of them mind you. I just don't like the idea of them crawling so close to me.
Six stopped so suddenly that I walked into him.
He didn't even budge.
"We may have a problem." He said.
I looked to see what he was talking about.
"Ay caramba!" I exclaimed. In front of us was at least a 10 foot vault.
"Hey, you! You're not supposed to be down here." Someone yelled behind us.
I spun around. The three henchmen of Quarry's that I had seen earlier were glaring at us.
They menacingly came closer.
