OK so this is the last chapter to this arc but there will be a sequel. What I need help with from you quys is how is Jack going to come back to himself? I need help with the order of gaining back his childhood. So what should the order be for regaining;
Memories
Hope
Wonder
Fun
Dreams
And why in that order. Like why would he regain them in that order or which one can transition to the next with slowly bringing Jack back. Like the first will be a small effect then so on until we have our Jackie back!
I don't own ROTG
Onto the chapter!
It was the same thing over and over in this dark place. Sleep, pain, wake, sleep, pain, wake. There was sometimes eat in there but it was rare. Everything was so dark and dull. There was nothing in this world of sorrow. How long has he been here? Who was he? What was his purpose? He didn't know.
"Poor Jack Frost." Was that his name? "You're losing yourself. Losing your purpose. HA! You should just give up! There's no such thing as hope and wonder, joy or dreams. Memories don't last and you are unloved! The world is made for cold. You are cold! Who cares for you other than to use you?! No one! You are a danger and a tool for use in a world without care! Give up! Give up!"
Giving up sounded so nice but something held him back. But what? He feels like there are people looking for him and wouldn't forgive him if he gave up but who? There's nothing in this world, just like the voice said.
He heard the cell door open and saw her enter. Time to start the cycle again.
Would this ever end? Most likely not.
The Lady grinned as she looked down at the winter child. It's been three years since she had taken him and she's feasted ever since on this child's center. No one has found them and even if someone came close, she just moved. Then a few days later put the child back in a cage. It's not that the cage was necessary since the child was so weak and broken already. No it was for if someone should come and try to get the child but that is unlikely.
She smiled as she watched the child fall asleep and walked over to him. Placing her hands upon his chest and the glow appeared. She sighed contently when suddenly laughter echoed throughout the cave. How? No one should be able to find this place.
"So this is where you've been keeping the boy." A voice said.
Taking her hand away, the Lady stood and exited the cell, closing the door. "Who are you? Show yourself."
"Do you really need to ask who I am?" And with that Pitch stepped out of the shadows, "I must say you did an excellent job in keeping him hidden."
"How did you find me, Pitch." She asked in her wispy Russian voice.
"I admit it was quite difficult. But send out a few mares here and there and you find things can be found easier." Pitch said.
"What do you want Pitch? Last I recall you did not like this child."
"Yes well while I may be enemies with the child I don't wish to break him."
"And why is that?" She asked raising a dark eyebrow, "What does he mean to you?"
"I don't have to tell you that."
The Lady began circling him, "There must be some reason. Something that no one knows but you and maybe another. Hmmm. What could it be?"
"Are you finished? Because I think I'll just take the boy now." Pitch said as he watched her.
"No. You shall not have the child. He is mine to feast upon." The Lady growled.
"I think you've fed enough." Pitch said.
"But if you take the boy I go back to the children. You wouldn't want that since you rely on a child's fear. Leave me the boy so we're all happy."
"No."
"Why ever not?"
"I'm taking the boy. Besides you should know his fear and belief is more powerful than any other child's."
"True, but you have all the children of the world while I have this one."
"I'll say it one last time. You are not keeping the winter spirit and you shall never feed like this again."
She grinned, "Oh? And how are you going to stop me?"
It was Pitch's turn to grin and with a wave of his hand nightmares attacked The Lady and she was dragged away from the domain. Pitch then walked up to the cell and opened the door. Looking down at the winter spirit he could see how he was effected by all this. The boy was obviously malnourished and thinner than usual. There were dark bags that hung under his closed eyes and his skin was paler then it should be. When Pitch picked up the unconscious spirit taking notice how he was actually only a little lighter than the last time he picked him up, back when he turned him into Jokul. Jack's skin was a little warmer than it should be but frost still crawled up Pitch's arms before melting.
Using the shadows, Pitch came to Antarctica dropping Jack in the snow while he waited. The wind swirled around them and brushed across the unconscious boys face before leaving. A few minutes later the wind returned with a woman. She had long wavy black hair with green eyes and wore a green flowing dress. She landed and kneeled next to the unconscious winter spirit and placed a hand on his head.
"You sought him out and saved him." She said looking at Pitch, "Why father?"
"I don't need a reason." Pitch scoffed, "Why don't you take him back to his family already."
"Will you ever tell him the truth?" Mother Nature asked.
"Why must I tell him?" Pitch asked, "You're his mother."
"I am busy trying to keep everything in balance." She said glaring at Pitch.
Pitch rolled his eyes and left saying, "Just go fix your child."
Mother Nature looked at the place Pitch stood for a few seconds then turned to the spirit in the snow.
"Jack? Jack Frost? Awaken my child." She called to him. She watched as dull blue eyes that looked more like storm clouds open and gaze at her. "Oh my child. What has happened to you?"
Jack just stared at her with an expressionless face, not uttering a sound. Looking into his eyes Mother Nature saw the lack of spark. There was no wonder or hope, no happy dreams or joyful memories. There was no mischief or fun.
"Oh Jack." Mother Nature whispered, "Sleep. For you shall receive the help you need." She closed the winter spirit's eyes and took to the skies. She arrived that the Pole and opened the doors. When the yetis saw her and what was in her arms, they sent for North. It wasn't long until the large man came and froze upon the two.
"Mother Nature, you found Jack." North said in awe.
She said did not respond and only said as she handed Jack over to him, "The child is broken. I leave it to you and your companions to fix him and bring him back."
With that she left, leaving North looking down at the spirit in his arms.
So that was that.
Feel free to answer the top question and I would greatly appreciate it if you did. Who ever has the best idea for the sequence of it will be mentioned the entire arc.
Feel free to comment, suggest, flame, etc.
Until next time! :D
