Ok so this chapter goes out to Nikki Pond who requested what happened during those three years Jack was gone.

I have made my decision on the order of helping our Jackie. Because I don't want to be mean I decided to thank all of you who have given ideas. Ok so let's see who gets thanked for what:

I'd like to thank Synoel for helping me decide the order of how Jack will heal.

I'd like to thank it-all-starts-somewhere for helping me cling to the idea that fun shall be last.

So thank you all I'm sorry if I upset anyone but I'll try to get you all in because I don't want anyone to be unhappy.

I'd also like to thank everyone who's reviewed, favorited, or followed.

Pitch: You're too nice for your own good.

There's nothing wrong with that.

Pitch: *rolls eyes*

Anyway onto the chapter!

During the first year of Jack's disappearance, the Guardians looked everywhere. They searched every nook and corner but found no sign of the winter spirit. The only time they stopped looking was during their jobs and even then they pretty much looked. And every time they met up, everyone was in a sober mood, like all the fun was ripped away.

And it was. When Christmas came the Pole was so joyless. There was no contagious laughter or frozen elves. There was no name calling from Bunny or charades with Sandy. No complaining about keeping teeth snowy white or giant smiles from opening a present. It was Jack-less.

And while they should have been happy that the children were spared, they couldn't. Not when they had lost Jack.

The second year wasn't any better. In fact it was worse. The Guardians could feel the loss of a great belief, Jack's, slowly disappearing. It losing hope, wonder, dreams, and memories ever so slowly it was painful.

Then Easter came and no matter how many kids believed that day, they still felt the loss of Jack's belief. It was worse when Jamie and a few other kids asked why Jack hadn't visited that winter. Bunny had lied saying Jack was busy. All the children but Jamie bought the story. The kid was too smart for his own good.

He had asked where Jack really was and said he did not want to be lied to. So Bunny told him. He told him how Jack had been kidnapped and they had search everywhere for him. Jamie then asked if they were still looking for Jack and Bunny said yes, when really they weren't.

They still searched for Jack but not as much, instead focusing on their jobs. They still held the meetings but they weren't as frequent. They kept up belief knowing it's what Jack would want that. But they still tried not to slip into their old ways. They tried to stay in touch, tried to keep up the family but it was hard. Jack was the one that brought them together and gave them roles in the family. Now they were incomplete. Like a hole was made in their life.

But still they tried, for Jack.

The third year is when they gave up. They no longer met up for meetings and only saw the children during their jobs. They stopped looking for Jack thinking he was gone forever, for they no longer felt the painful loss of his belief because...it was gone.

Tooth was the first one to lose hope. She focused on her work and went back to staying at the palace. Baby Tooth had tried to keep her mother's hope up but it was futile. Tooth never forgot Jack and if she found him she'd say but she just couldn't keep up the hopeless searches.

Next was North. While he always had faith in Jack, he just couldn't help but believe the boy was never coming back. He went back to focusing on the toys and trying to make them incredible, but it wasn't the same without Jack trying to play with them. He had locked Jack's room to make sure nothing changed and let no yeti nor elf inside. Jack's staff, which had been kept ever since the incident, was also inside the room so nothing could happen to it and no one saw it. Phil and the other yetis missed Jack, as did the elves. But they along with North gave up on the searches like Tooth and would only say if they saw him near the Pole.

Next was Sandy. While he didn't necessarily give up on the winter spirit he, like the others, couldn't keep up the searches with having to deliver dreams. He'd keep an eye out but tried to focus on his work.

Bunny never gave up hope. While he did stop the searches like the others he never stopped hoping Jack would return. How could he? That was his center and he just had to keep hoping for the winter spirit that became his brother. If he did he failed Jack even more. The Easter Spirit said he'd always be there to help Jack and if he couldn't find him, he'd hope for him. He'd hope that Jack was ok even when he couldn't feel his hope. He'd hope that Jack would just pop up and everything would return to normal.

He'd hope for Jack's return. But sadly like the others he went back to his work.

But there was someone besides Bunny who held hope for Jack. This was Jamie. As he grew he did not lose belief nor did he think Jack was gone forever.

Then it happened. After three years Mother Nature showed up at North's door and dropped off a sleeping Jack Frost.

So that was that. I thank you all again! :D
