Anyway onto the chapter!

Jack was out, giving a light dusting of snow when he was suddenly attacked from behind. He fell to the ground with a groan of pain. Looking up, he saw summer, spring, and fall sprites.

"May I help you?" Jack asked.

"You disappear for three years without a word and leave Mother with your monstrous work." The summer sprite said, "We missed you."

"Somehow I doubt that." Jack said about to stand up only to be pushed down by a red shoe on his chest, harshly sending his back to the ground. "See what I mean?" He gasped out.

"Now that's no way to talk to us." The spring sprite said as both she and the fall sprite walked up next to the summer sprite.

"I say Frost should be taught a lesson about disappearing." The fall sprite said, "The poor Guardians must have been so disappointed. They have to put up with you and then you just up and disappear. They must have been forced to find you, for surly they couldn't have sought you out themselves."

While they spoke to Jack two more voices whispered into his ears, two that only he could understand.

'They speak the truth and you know it. Why would the Guardians search for a murderous, cold, traitor like you?' One hissed in his mind.

"Don't listen to them Jack. You're wonderful and the Guardians never gave up searching for you. You're part of their family." The other whispered into his ears. This was too much. Four voices struck his mind with venomous words that left the pain and poison of them. Another voice of his closest friend that never lied whispered soothingly into his ears, trying to sooth and be rid of the poisonous words that tried to puncture his mind.

"SHUT UP!" Jack shouted, lashing out. The wind saw his distress and she forced the three sprites away.

"Oh now you're goanna get it." The summer sprite growled. With that, before Jack could even attempt to reach his staff that was over near a tree across from him, the sprites sprang forward and attacked.

Jack attempted to shield himself from the pain but he felt it all. He felt the kicks and punches and claws. He felt the bruises and scratches and burns. He felt any blood that leaked from the wounds that pierced skin. Any bones that broke or cracked. He could feel the wind trying to keep them away and it seemed to be able to tire them out for they had to use much strength to reach Jack on the ground.

Soon they stopped and told Jack they'd be back, leaving him pained on the ground. The wind tried to comfort Jack as he lay on the ground gasping in pain. He crawled over to his staff and asked the wind to take him to his lake. The wind picked him up as gently as she could and delivered him to the frozen lake, next to a specific tree.

As Jack was laid next to it, he reached into a hole near the roots and pulled out a case. He began to fix his wounds, freezing what he could, and then grabbing an old gauze and, placing snow in it, wrapped it around his chest. After his wounds were taken care of, Jack curled up in a snowbank and slept.

Soon he was awoken by the wind.

"Hmm…What is it wind?" Jack groaned as he awoke. He cracked his eyes open and saw the northern lights in the sky. He pushed himself up, wincing from the pains of his wounds, and stood. Pulling up his hood, he headed to the Pole.

When he reached the Pole all eyes of the others turned to him as he opened the window.

"See I said I wouldn't have to get him." Bunny huffed.

"Oh hush Bunny." North said, "Jack! It is good you came willingly this time!"

"Actually you probably would have had to send Cottontail if it wasn't for the wind." Jack said.

"Oi, Snowflake. Why's your hood up?" Bunny asked.

"What's it to you?" Jack asked.

"Just strange as all." Bunny replied. "Why? You hiding something from us?"

"No of course not." Jack responded, a little too quickly. Seeing the looks he got he sighed, "Let's just get on with this."

"Right!" North exclaimed. So the Guardians reported f progress and if there had been anything happening. Jack spoke nothing of the beatings, voice, nor Pitch. He spoke only of his plans for this winter and nothing else.

When they prepared to leave Bunny stopped Jack, "You'll tell us if anything's going on right?"

"Of course." Jack lied. Bunny raised an eyebrow and stared at Jack before nodding and leaving through his tunnels.

"Jack will you be staying here tonight?" North asked.

"Er no." Jack answered, "You know winter to spread and what not. Besides you have to prepare for Christmas."

"Yes I know. Well do try to sleep alright. You have room here." North said. Jack nodded and was finally able to leave.

He spread winter here and there before retreating to his lake to rest when he heard something. Opening his eyes, Jack looked up from his snowbank to see the sprites from yesterday.

"I didn't realize you liked me so much." Jack said with a smirk.

"We don't. We just wanted to continue with your lesson yesterday." The fall sprite said.

"How about you don't." Jack said, "I think that would be a much better decision."

"No." And the beatings began once more. And deep inside Jack desperately wanted to fight back, that voice wanted him to give into that anger, but he knew he couldn't. He didn't know why but he just couldn't.

The next day Jack decided to go bug Bunny for a little before spreading some winter. He quickly hid his wounds and headed out.

Bunny was painting eggs when he smelt the wintery pine of Jack Frost's sent and heard his laughter.

"Alright Frostbite where are you?" Bunny said standing up. He began to follow Jack's laughter and sent but it seemed that it just changed. One moment he'd be going left next he'd go right. Then Bunny slipped on a patch of ice. "JACK!"

"What? Can't I visit my favorite kangaroo before I go out to spread some winter joy?" Jack asked suddenly floating before Bunny, once again with his hood up.

"I'm not a kangaroo mate. And why you got your hood up again?" Bunny questioned.

"I just want it up these days." Jack answered vaguely. Before Bunny could say anything, Jack said, "So what should we do before I spread my lovable winter?"

"Right, lovable." Bunny mumbled sarcastically. Then he sighed, "You want to help me with the eggs?"

Jack shrugged, "Why not." With that the two set to work. They painted for a little while until Jack left to go work winter. Once he was gone, Bunny silently followed him. He knew Jack was hiding something, for it wasn't just wintery pine he smelt today but also a metallic sent. He followed Jack and when the boy arrived at his lake, Bunny decided to confront him. But he didn't get far when three sprites appeared.

"Are you ready for your punishment today?" The summer one said.

Jack sighed and leaned on his staff, "Not today. I actually want to just check my wounds and sleep. Is that too much to ask? Besides you three should have something to do other then hit me."

"But a monster like you deserves it." The spring sprite hissed, shooting thorns at Jack. The winter spirit was able to dodge most of them while the others scrapped his arms or sides. Since Jack had his staff in his hands this time, he shot a bolt of ice at the ground before the three.

"You dare attack us with your deathly powers?" The summer sprite snarled.

"Well I didn't hit you. It was more of a warning shot." Jack answered casually.

"Winter. We shall not be another one of your victims of death." The fall sprite hissed. With that the three attacked. The summer sprite shot a flaming ball of fire and as Jack tried to dodge it, his staff was ripped away from him and thrown to the other side of the pond.

At first Bunny stared in shock at the sprites, unable to move for shock held him in place as he watched them attack Jack. Then he snapped to his senses and jumped out of his hiding spot, boomerangs in hand. He ran over just as the wind was able to for them away from the figure on the ground, and he stood in front of the injured Jack.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Bunny growled. The sprites froze.

"Oh Bunnymund! What brings you here?" The summer sprite asked.

"That's none of your business. What I want to know is why you're attacking Frost?" He sneered.

"This bringer of death vanishes for three years forcing his cold season onto Mother. Then he just reappears?! Don't tell us you aren't angry. He neglected his Guardian duties as well. Why or how you put up with him is a mystery to all of us." The summer sprite answered.

"Get out of here. I don't ever want to see you messing with Jack again!" Bunny growled taking a threatening step towards them.

"That's ok. You probably want to punish him yourself anyway." With that the sprites left. Bunny sighed and put his boomerangs away. Turning around he found Jack was no longer behind him but stumbling towards his staff.

"Jack-"

"Why were you here?" Jack interrupted.

"I wanted to know why you smelt of blood and had your hood up." Bunny answered, "I just happened to be here when they showed up." Now that his hood wasn't up, Bunny could see old bruises and scratches.

"Why did you stop them? I would have been fine if you didn't." Jack said.

"I wasn't just going to sit there and let you be attacked for no reason." Bunny said walking up to him, "Now let's look at those wounds."

"I'm fine. You can go, I'll take care of my wounds." Jack said.

"Oh no." Bunny said, "I'm not leaving you to tend to yourself. Come here."

"I'm fine!" Jack shouted as he backed away from Bunny.

Bunny narrowed his eyes, "You're not fine Jack! You're covered in bruises and cuts and burns! You're not alone! I thought you had that in your head already!" Then his voice softened as he saw Jack flinch away, "I want to help you Jackie, but you need to open up again."

Jack didn't say a word as Bunny hopped closer and opened a tunnel to bring him to the Warren. He took Jack into his medical room and sat him on a bed.

"I'm fine. I can do this myself." Jack mumbled. Bunny just shook his head and told him to take off his sweater, that was singed and ripped, and his eyes widened when he saw the ice and gauze.

"I said I could take care of myself. I've been doing it for three hundred years." Jack said not looking at Bunny.

"How long have they been doing this?" Bunny asked.

"They attacked me the day before the meeting, the day of the meeting, and today. But I took care of myself." Jack said

"Jack you could've, should've, came to one of us." Bunny sighed, "Why didn't you?"

"I always seem to be causing trouble for all of you. You deserved a break especially if you spent all that time looking for me." Jack answered.

As Bunny got fresh medical supplies out he asked, "Why didn't you fight back?"

Jack shrugged, "Several reasons. One was that I didn't have my staff because it was usually kicked away or something. The second was I didn't really want to fight back, I couldn't. And the third…well…"

"Well?" Bunny pressed.

"They kinda spoke the…the truth." Jack whispered.

"What?! How were they speaking the truth?! What truth was there?!" Bunny exclaimed as he looked down at Jack who refused to meet his eyes.

"Think about it. Even if it was Sandy who pointed at the globe, I said it out loud. I pushed you all into letting me be the bait. I was weak enough to lose my belief and give up!" Jack exclaimed.

Bunny growled and gripped Jack's shoulders, "Now listen here. That was not your fault. We went along with the plan and weren't able to protect you. None of that was your fault!"

"Yeah but-"

"Do listen to what they said ok?! None of that is true!" A small smile tugged at Jack's lips.

"That's what the wind said." Jack said.

"And has the wind ever lied to you?" Jack shook his head. "So you should listen. Now look at me." Jack slowly raised his ice blue eyes to look into Bunny's emerald green. "Next time something like this happens, come to one of us."

Jack nodded.

"Good now let's take care of those wounds."

Was that good? I hope so.

So that was that.
