Here's the next chapter!
Ok I have a question. I'm planning on doing a part about the Blizzard of '68 but what I need to know is when. I could either do a random one-shot on it or I can put it in an arc that will be call "Remembering You". It will be an arc about the Guardians meeting Jack as a human. Should I put that in there showing when they, besides tooth, each first met Jack as a spirit as well?

Anyway onto the chapter!
MiM sighed as he looked down at the earth from the moon. Years ago he was asked by a malicious spirit to take his soul from the earth, but it came with a price. It is true a spirit cannot die by regular means since they just came back, but there is a spell known by both himself and Mother Nature that could kill a spirit without its return, unlike sprites that could just simply be destroyed.
Usually it was Mother Nature that dealt with seasonal deaths but she simply did not have the power MiM had to kill Jokul Frosti, but as said before that came with a price. Mother Nature would usually just pass down the power of winter to the next sprite but there were none available for they were all dead, killed by Jokul. By taking away Jokul's soul, he took away control over winter as well. This meant that Jokul's dark intent still resided within the power that now lay in MiM's hands.
He sighed as he looked down at earth once more. He needed to find someone who could handle the power of winter as well as withstand the essence of Jokul. But who? Just then, as he was looking over one of the colonies of the new land, he saw a boy with brown hair and brown eyes playing with many children out in the snow. This young boy was outside playing in the freezing air when they should be working to prepare for a harsh winter? How odd. He was also looking out for each of the children in the cold, making sure they don't freeze or get too bored. Seeing as he was only the age of about seven years, MiM decided to watch him.
As the years passed and the boy, known as Jackson Overland he learned, grew MiM knew this was the perfect boy for the job to guide winter. He loved the snow and always found the bright side of it, the fun side, even when there had been a blizzard. Yes this boy could make people see the actual joys of winter by not making it as deadly as past spirits did and trying to protect people from its deathly winds, while still bringing in the need storms and cold weather. And seeing the way he was with children, also including all the spirits he met with his unwavering belief, perhaps he could make the boy a Guardian as well; it seemed fit. So MiM prepared to ask the boy of these jobs when he was older, see if he would accept the role of the Spirit of Winter and maybe even a Guardian.
But then he and his sister went ice skating.
MiM couldn't have predicted that Jackson would die for his sister, couldn't have predicted how much of a Guardian this boy was. So when he saw the boy sink into the dark, murky, and cold depths of the lake, MiM instantly tried to take him from Death's grasp. He couldn't do it, couldn't bring enough life back into that body to withstand the power of winter. So he called Mother Nature.
"What is it?" She called down from earth, next to the lake.
"I need your help in reviving this child." MiM explained, shinning his light upon the lake.
"Why?"
"I chose this boy for winter. I need your help in bringing him back."
Mother Nature looked down at the ice, spotting the body below the ice. "It is too late. This boy has been under here since the evening. He must be gone."
"No," MiM responded, "It may now be night but I was able to restore life within him to last within the lake. I need your help to truly revive him so he can withstand winter and Jokul."
Mother Nature was silent for a few seconds before sighing. "If you wish."
The two beings focused their power on the body within the ice. They watched as the boy's appearance changed to look that of winter. Then, as the body received all its life to become an immortal spirit and MiM began to transfer winter into the boy, Mother Nature spotted a shepherds crook nearby. Picking it up, she reinforced it with magic so that it may help the young spirit control his power.
Placing it near the place where the body should emerge, Mother Nature said, "A gift for the boy. He is so young to control this without a conduct."
"Treating him like your son, are you?" MiM asked.
Mother Nature gave a soft smile. "But he is isn't he? We brought him the life that will let him continue on. Does that not make him our child in this life? Even so I am the Mother of Nature, Ruler of Nature Spirits, and you are that of your Guardians." Then she sighed. "I must leave him alone, don't I?"
"I'm sorry but you must." MiM replied. "The child is smart. He'll discover what he's here for within time and when the time comes, rise to greatness."
Mother Nature nodded before calling to the wind to watch over the boy and leaving, deciding to focus on her job instead of thinking of the child.
When she left MiM turned to the newly made winter spirit within the ice. Focusing his power, MiM made the shadows clinging to the child leave and raise him from the ice. MiM watched the fear vanish from the boy's face as he looked at the moon, bathed in the bright glow.
When lowered to the ice, that froze once more when his feet touched the cracks, MiM used the last of his power to give the boy a name that would fit his role. "Jack Frost."
The boy, Jack, looked up towards the moon before finding the staff upon the ground. As MiM watched him behave he noticed something wrong. It's like Jack had no idea of what anything was. That's when it dawn on MiM. The boy most likely had no memories of his past life for he had physically died before being brought back with new life. As a child those finaly memories of Jackson Overland were most likely transferred to his tooth box. The boy was starting this new life from scratch and MiM watched with sorrow as the child was walked though, but unable to do anything.
But while the boy may be on his own right now, MiM can't help but feel he made the right choice.
Me: YAY! done.
Pitch: *rolls eyes*
Me: Anyway feel free to comment, flame, suggest, vote, etc.
Until next time! :D
