Me: Yeah another chapter!
Pitch: Make this short your falling asleep here.
Me: :P
Anyway onto the chapter!
Jack was hanging out at the Pole with North when suddenly his expression went cold and he gazed out the window.
"Jack?" North asked as Jack stood up and grabbed his staff.
"I have to go." Jack said before jumping out the window. North watched Jack's form grow smaller and at one point becoming lost in a swirling of snow before leaving his sight. The lights of the globe caught North's attention and he turn towards it just in time to see Jack's light vanished only to be replaced with a dark gray one.
North sighed. He should have guessed that it was something like this considering on how fast Jack had gone from happy to cold. North decided to wait for Jack's return in case he wanted to talk about what he had witnessed.
When Jack did return, it was almost night. The boy's hood was up but North caught sight of large dark eyes under it, holding a haunted look within them.
"Jack, are you alright?" North asked approaching the child.
"I'm fine." Jack replied in a dead, world weary voice, sounding much like the 300+ year old spirit he was.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" North asked gently.
Jack glanced at North before replying, "…No I-I'm good."
"Jack-"
"You know what North? I'm tired I think I'm going to go take a nap." With that, Jack was gone. North sighed. He knew Jack would have to talk about it soon or else the horror of what he'd seen will continue to grow and fester until Jack breaks down completely from fear, and North defiantly didn't want Pitch anywhere near Jack.
So when North was walking to Jack's room and he heard muffled whimpers, he knew he had to take action.
Entering the room, North found Jack curled in on himself, taking deep breaths as if to calm himself.
"Jack." North whispered causing the boy to jump slightly as he made his way next to the child and sat next to him. "Jack please tell me what happened."
"North, I don't want to talk about it. I'm fine." Jack lied with a shaking voice.
"Jack, please I just want to help you."
"North…I-I." Jack sighed and finally said. "It was horrible! There where people eating live people! Some of them were children and they had called me! N-North it was just s-so heartbreakingly scarring! Those poor people! S-Skin was missing, limbs, eyes! A-And the BLOOD i-it was everywhere staining everything and…and e-everyone! I-It was just-" He couldn't say anymore and the images flashed through his mind.
The children moaning in pain, asking to bee taken from this torment along with their families. Jack did as they asked but didn't stop there. He frozen the cannibals solid and then quickly left. This isn't the first time in all his years he's seen stuff like this, but it doesn't make it any easier to see or even smell. The smell of rot and blood filling the air around the people.
Jack was so wrapped up in the memories that he didn't notice North pulling him into his arms and gently shushing him.
Once Jack took notice of this, he curled his fingers into North's shirt and took comfort in someone helping him through this. IT wasn't long until Jack fell asleep, but there were no nightmares.
North gave one last smile at Jack before tucking him in and exiting the room. Usually Jack would have nightmares about what had happened.
But this night, golden dolphins danced above his head.
It's short I know but I'm tired.
