Ok so this is the next chapter.
Me: This was suggested by Nikki Pond and will take the place for the Thanksgiving chapter. Sorry all of you who don't celebrate it I'll try to get the arc started soon.
Pitch: When do I come back in?
Me: After the next arc, if not in one-shots in between.
Pitch: You're cruel.
Me: That's nice Pitch.
Now, Onto the chapter!
For three hundred years, Jack would look into windows seeing families getting together to eat and make happy memories. He had yearned to be a part of something like that, not just for the food but just to be as a family. He desired to have those happy smiles aimed at him, to feel the comfortable warmth that came from having loved ones. Sure he had the wind but it wasn't the same. But instead of grieving or letting the tears in his eyes fall, Jack would decide to take care of those without those comforts. He would find any food he could and, if he found someone, he would give it to that person or people who have gone without food.
He did this every year but especially on Thanksgiving.
So that's why, when the Guardians asked him to have a feast with them, he turned them down.
"What do you mean you can't stay with us today?!" Bunny shouted at the frosty teen.
"I mean, I have my own traditions and I'm not stopping them to have a silly party." Jack snapped.
"Silly party?! Oh no, mate you see today is the day we get together with family and be thankful for them. You want to give that up so you can go do whatever it is you did for three hundred years alone?!"
"You don't know anything about what I did in those three hundred years and you don't know anything about being alone! To not have a family! You always had the Guardians!"
"Is that what you think? That I haven't lost any one?!" Bunny's voice slowly rose in pitch. "I am the last of my kind Jack! I know what it means to lose something you love! But now I have the others and I'm thankful for them! You should be too since you were alone for so long without a family or friend and with everyone hating you. If you're not going to be nice then you shouldn't deserve us as a family! On holidays you should just go back into that pitiful hole you crawl into when you were alone on said holidays!"
Jack took a deep breath to calm himself. "I'm sorry that you lost your family Bunny so I realize how important the others are, and I am thankful for that but you must understand; I can't stop what I do for Thanksgiving. It's too important."
"More important than your family?"
Jack look the Guardian of Hope right in the eyes and answered in complete and utter seriousness. "Yes." Then there was a swirl of snow around him and Jack was gone.
"Tch, whatever. We don't bloody need him-OW what was that for shelia!?" Bunny screeched as Tooth whacked the back of his head, hard.
"Why would you say that?! I understand why you would be mad Bunny but you didn't have to be so mean to him! Go find him and apologize!" Tooth screamed at him.
"What? No! You heard him, he has his own traditions!"
"Are you sure that he just not comfortable with us yet? That it's just strange for him? As much as I don't want to quote you Bunny but you said yourself how he was alone on each holiday for three hundred years."
Bunny's ears fell back and he sighed, "Fine I'll go find the bloody show-pony." Tapping his foot on the ground, Bunny hopped down it to start his search for Jack.
It took about an hour or so, noting that Jack wasn't actually trying to hide, Bunny found the boy in a small town. Sniffing out the boy's sent, Bunny found him in an ally but before he could walk up to him, the rabbit to in the scene before him.
Jack was silently placing a bag of food next to a sleeping woman who was all bundled up in old tattered clothing. After Jack finished that he took off and Bunny was right on his tail.
"Oi Frostbite!" Bunny shouted. "I need to talk to you!"
Jack stopped in his flying and turned towards Bunny with his arms crossed. "Yes Cottontail?"
"What was that back there?"
Jack shuffled his feet on the wind and looked away. "It's…what I do every Thanksgiving. Since I didn't have anything to do I figured I'd help those who didn't have much."
Bunny stared before saying. "I-I'm sorry Frostbite, for what I said earlier."
"It's ok, you didn't know."
"It's not ok and I'm sorry for blowing up at you. Can you forgive me?"
Jack shook his head with a chuckle. "Silly rabbit, I already forgave you."
That made Bunny smile. "You're too nice Frostbite."
Jack shrugged. "When I want to be."
"What do you mean by that?!"
"Nothing~" Jack sang with a smirk. "So you want to help me out and then we can head back to the Pole?"
"Sure Snowflake, I bet I can help way more then you."
"Well then you better get moving, I have three hundred years and the few today on you."
"Aw now that's cheating Frostbite." Bunny shouted.
Jack began flying away, "I can't hear you!" Jack laughed as he flew away.
Bunny shook his head with a chuckle. "Bloody show-pony."
With that he took off after Jack, laughter filling the air.
Me: So that was that.
Pitch: Oh finish up, you have to leave soon.
Me: MEH! Anyway there will be no more update til tomorrow, sorry.
Feel free to comment, suggest, etc.
Happy Thanksgiving again! And have a nice day to all those who don't celebrate it!
