Kagome knows there is more to Sesshomaru than what he initially portrayed. While thinking on it she finds Rin in a dangerous situation and helps her out putting herself in considerable danger resulting in a terrible accident. Sesshomaru makes the decision to help her and becomes curious about her as well allowing her to travel with them.
