Whelp onto the chapter!
Another Christmas had come around but Jack no longer shied away from the Pole in fear of messing up. No, this year Jack stayed around and even helped out with making some of the toys! North was overjoyed that there was another Guardian who enjoyed carving ice as much as he did. Heck, Jack was even more of a perfectionist then him, making sure every curve and detail was perfect. The only difference was that Jack didn't freak out over them being destroyed like North and only laughed it off. But even so it was a really great time for the both of them.
Finally the night of Christmas Eve came and this time Jack was there at the departure. As North put on his suit and prepared to leave, he walked over to where the other Guardians stood with a wide smile upon his bearded face.
"Jack!" He exclaimed, arms wide open.
The winter spirit raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"You must deliver snow yes?" He received a nod in response.
"How would you like to go with me tonight to give presents?! We do jobs together!"
Jack gaped. He knew he would be here to see North off and he might see the big man as he was spreading his own gift, but to join him on such a night! That surprised the young man.
"Well?" North's voice broke through Jack's thoughts, regaining his attention. A wide grin broke across Jack's face a joy sparkled in his eyes as he nodded enthusiastically.
North's smile grew somehow even larger as the two headed over to the sleigh. The two entered the sleigh and, with a joyous shout from both of them, they took off down the ramp. Throughout the night, Jack watched with wonder as North popped down each chimney and out to deliver presents. Sometimes, as Jack was working on the delivering snow part, he would gaze at North through a window to see him place down each present, eyes lighting up each time.
By the time they finished, joy and excitement was racing through Jack's veins. The two landed back at the Pole and the Guardians had their annual party, eating dinner and sharing gifts. At the end of the night, Jack took off towards Burgess and entered the hole in the ground.
"Pitch?" He called out to the darkness, cradling his gift in his arms.
"What is it Jack?" Pitch asked as he appeared from the shadows, brow raised and arms behind his back.
"I-uh…well it's Christmas and since it's a time for family I thought I should visit you and give you…this." With that Jack revealed the gift in his arms. It was an ice sculpture of a nightmare with tendrils of ice wrapping around it and flowing outwards in a majestic way.
Pitch gently took the sculpture into his hands, golden eyes lighting with happiness and gratitude. Offering a soft but sincere smile to his grandson, he said. "It's lovely Jack, thank you."
Jack beamed a blinding smile at him and rushed forward, wrapping his arms around Pitch in a hug. Pitch hesitated a moment before hugging the boy back.
It was short but sweet and fluffy.
Me: See Pitch? You got to be happy in this chapter, you even got a hug and gift.
Pitch: how lovely.
Well anyway, feel free to comment, suggest, etc.
Until next time! :D
