Ok so this is the next chapter.
Thank you all of you who reviewed, followed, and favorited!
Me: This chapter and the rest of this arc for this is dedicated to Liliana Dragonshard for sending me an amazing poem which is shown in the beginning here. It is amazing! (I didn't steal anything! Liliana gave me permission to do this!)
Pitch: For the amount of time she wrote it in, I must say it is very impressive.
Me: Pitch you have a heart!
Pitch: I thought this was already a fact?
Me: It is, I just wanted to shout that.
Pitch: Alright?
Me: Well anyway Onto the chapter!
"Jack Frost; How it Begins, How it Ends"
By: Liliana Dragonshard
A young boy,
With mischief in his eyes,
Played along with his sister on the lake,
But was about to die.
The ice crackled and splintered,
That cold, frozen winter,
A young girl just above,
Across from the brother she loved.
A bit of Fun to Ward off Fear,
As the Moon watched very near,
With a bit of jokes and laughter galore,
He ended trading his life for hers.
Below the ice, sinking fast,
But brought back up, safe at last.
Snow-white hair and icey blue eyes,
Jack Frost was made that winter night.
Happy but confused, he looked to the Moon,
The man would not answer,
But foresaw a disaster,
And left the poor boy alone.
Three hundred years,
Now thats a long time,
To be left alone,
Our poor winter sprite.
An evil man,
Pitch black, darker than night.
Through several hurdles all heroes leaped,
For the evil man they must defeat.
In the end, they made it through!
And Jack was made a Guardian, too.
With believers who could see him and memories restored,
Our winter spirit could never be bored.
As time goes on and he has his fun,
He'll think back to how it begun.
With a family now to watch his back,
He's happy as can be.
And that's simply that.
Jack didn't remember much of his past life from the glimpse he had received during the battle on Easter, only knowing that he enjoyed fun and mischief as well as how he became a spirit and not having a clue on who he relied on, if he relied on anyone. The rest of his memories is taken up by the years of isolation, the unanswered questioning to the moon, and the loneliness. He also remembered always having to watch his own back, as if he was never safe from angry spirits. And at first, he thought he'd be able to grow comfortable with the Guardians, and it seemed that way with how they were getting along in the beginning.
But then Pitch played with his mind and through him through shadows. He framed him and the Guardians chased him away before he could explain. Bunny even almost punched him! So now he walks around them with tense shoulders, prepared for any blows that he believes will come one day.
He watches his own back, he doesn't trust them enough to. Not yet.
And of course the Guardians noticed the way he would watch them with caution and the way he held himself to brace himself from any blow that he thought would strike.
But they didn't know what to do about it. They would attempt to make it as safe as possible and as relaxed and happy as possible whenever he was around. Bunny would attempt to joke around with him and while Jack responded to the banter, returning with his own shots, but it didn't help. The boy would continue to stay locked up behind his walls, watching his own back and not trusting their subtle movements.
Who could have guessed it would have taken an angry sprite to spark the trust in Jack.
So that was that!
Me: See Liliana wrote an awesome poem! Anywho there will be like one or two more parts to this.
Pitch: Joy.
Me: Feel free to comment, suggest, ask questions, etc.
Until next time! :D
