Thank you all for reviews/follows/favorites.
Me: I shoveled the drive way today and the snow was so sparkly and fun! Jack must have made those flakes!
Pitch: So? What does that matter?
Me: Meh! Anyway so to answer so questions. I realize that wallah is not spelled correctly but whatever. And yes this arc does go back to the beginning! Let's give another shout out for Liliana Dragonshard for this arc! This is the second to last part of the arc, sorry if it's short!
Anyway onto the chapter!
Jack panted as he looked around the forest. Some fall and spring spites were attacking him just out of pure hatred for his season, and he wasn't in the mood to deal with them. They had each landed a few hits on him, some worse than others, but he's been able to hold them off for now. He had tried to leave upon the wind, but she hasn't answered him for a while now and he didn't know why.
He heard a rustling behind him and turned to shoot ice at it, when a familiar accent called out. "Don't shoot us, you bloody idiot! It's only us!" Out of the trees came the other Guardians.
Jack scowled, "What are you doing here?"
"The wind came to get us." Tooth said fluttering forward. As she took note of his injuries she exclaimed, "Oh Jack, you're hurt!" But as she reached out towards him, he backed away a little.
"I'm fine." He muttered before turning to the wind. "And I was fine, wind! You didn't have to get them!"
"You're obviously not fine, Frostbite. Now what's going on?" Bunny frowned. Just as Jack was about to answer, thorn covered vines shot out of the ground and towards them. Instantly, Jack shot ice at the plants, shattering them from the frigged temperature.
"Just get out of here!" Jack snapped, "I can deal with this by myself! It's my battle!" With that he tried blowing them back with a gust of air, before turning back to the battle at hand. The Guardians watched as three sprites appeared before Jack, two fall and one spring, and used their powers over nature against the winter spirit. They watched in fasciation and slight concern as Jack held the three off, without even taking a breather. They probably would have stayed still longer if it weren't for the sharp vines aiming for the winter spirit's back, at the same time they each shot a wave of heat at him.
Jack formed a wall of ice and turned quickly when he caught the sound of something flying through the air. Just as he turned to defend himself, he found a boomerang cutting the vines that were seconds from stabbing him, making them collapse to the ground.
He turned to look at the Guardians, each having their weapons ready, as they prepared to back Jack up. North laughed as they came to stand by the Guardian of Fun's side. Jack, in response, froze for a moment, staring at them in surprise. Then he shook his head and turned to the sprites, stepping up further then the Guardians to face the sprites.
"Look, I don't know what you want, but I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now. Now get out of here before I freeze you solid!"
The sprites glared. "We could have taken you." Jack scoffed when one said that. "If it weren't for your Guardian friends interfering. We'll be back Frost!"
"And we'll be there to back him up!" North exclaimed. A frown grew on Jack's face at the comment, but with one last glare, the sprites left.
Now it was just the Guardians. "I was fine, you know." Jack spoke. "You didn't need to join in like that."
"Ah, but we did!" North exclaimed.
"I can fight my own battles. I've been doing it for 300 years."
Tooth placed a hand on Jack's shoulder, ignoring how he tensed before relaxing. "But you're not alone anymore. We're here to help you Jack. You can trust us, we'll always have your back." Then she grabbed his hands, preventing him from running away. "Now come on, let's get those wounds checked on."
With that they traveled through a portal back to the pole. Jack's wounds were cleaned and patched up. As he prepared to leave the Pole afterwards. He was approached by Bunny. "Remember, Frostbite, call on us if you're in any trouble. We'll help you, you know."
Jack hesitated a moment before nodding. "…Thanks." And as he left through the window, no one expected a small amount of trust to spark ever so silently in the winter child that would affect his relationship with the Guardians in a positive way, making them grow closer and finally have a happy family.
so that was that. I'm really sorry if it's too short!
