Now onto the chapter!
A year. That's how long Jack has been a Guardian for. Now, it wasn't a long time in immortal standards, but to Jack this was very exciting. He has finally been with actual people who liked him for a year! This was so exciting and Jack was practically radiating the joy he felt! Ok well, it wasn't officially a year yet, because while Easter had passed, its day changes meaning that it wasn't the same day as usual. So in reality, while Easter had passed about five days ago on the 31st, the day he became a Guardian was still a whole days away. But the fact remains that it's practically been a year!
Jack had happiness rushing through his veins as he delivered snow to the respectable areas of today. Tomorrow would be the day when it had officially been a year and he just couldn't wait to see all of the other Guardians and-wait. Jack stopped in his flying. He didn't know how the other Guardians would react to such a day. While to him it's almost the biggest day of his life, the others might just find it as another year gone by. It not like he made that much to the team, just simply another Guardian to protect the world. Not that big of a deal, right?
For some odd reason, the thought that the Guardians wouldn't think of tomorrow as such a big day caused pain to soot through his chest. Like, they really didn't care he joined their group and was just another piece of the game. As these thoughts filled his head, the wind seemed to sense his distress as she ruffled his hair. Being brought out of his thoughts, Jack shook his head. "It's nothing, wind. I'm fine." Maybe he should celebrate the day in silence, that way he won't be scolded for celebrating what would be considered nothing.
The rest of the day was pretty mellow, his joy from before never able to come back, only in small doses that he used to play with children. Then when the day was done, he sat upon a tree at his lake, watching the sun set until twelve o'clock struck. He smiled a thin smile, knowing today was the day that declared a year as a Guardian had passed. Gazing up at the moon, he said. "Thank you, for making me a Guardian." He then closed his eyes, preparing to sleep in the moonlight, only to have his eyes shoot awake at the sound of a familiar voice.
"Oi, Frostbite! Get down here!" Jack turned to look down at Bunny before floating off the branch and landing before the other.
"Hey, Cottontail what's up?" Jack asked, leaning on his staff.
"I need you to come with me." Bunny said opening HHa tunnel and motioning for Jack to follow him. Raising an eyebrow, Jack stared at the Guardian of Hope questionably but decided to follow him anyway. They both jumped down the hole, traveling down the spring tunnel and into the Warren. Jack had been here a few days ago to help out with Easter before the party at the Pole. As they slid out onto the grass, Jack looked around, taking in the, for once, quiet place since Easter was done.
"So," Jack drew out. "What did you bring me here for?"
"Well, Snowflake." Bunny said turning towards the other. "It occurred to me-to us-that today happened to be a special day."
Jack's breath caught in his throat. Did they remember what today was? Dare he hope? Swallowing thickly, Jack spoke. "Yeah? And why is that?"
"Oh, come now Frostbite. Don't tell me you forgot? I honestly thought you'd be smiling big and bright as soon as the hour hit." Bunny spoke with a smirk as he continued to lead him through the Warren. Soon he stopped, and Jack was met with an area full of decorations.
"You see Jack, happy-" Bunny was cut off by the other Guardians appearing and North blowing a loud.
"HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!" Bunny frowned at the other before turning back to a wide eyed Jack.
"What he said." He said with a smile. Jack stared at them in shock before a large smile broke across his face and his eyes shinned with happiness and tears.
"I'm so happy! I thought you wouldn't remember or that it wasn't important! I was just thought-" Jack broke off.
Tooth smiled. "We wouldn't forget this Jack. That would just be terrible if we did. We knew how important this day would be to you so we put this together, Sweet Tooth."
"You worry too much!" North laughed.
"Yeah, and I honestly thought you'd be exploding with happiness, not letting us forget." Bunny said nudging Jack's shoulder. Jack laughed in return.
Sandy joined in by shooting off fireworks of dream-sand and grabbing a drink off the table of food. With that, they started their party and the light upon the globe grew a little bit brighter.
So that was that!
Me: So yeah that chapter goes back to the beginning, pretty much after chapter 17.
North: Pretty far back.
Me: *shrugs* It doesn't matter.
Tooth: Its nice you took a break from the torture.
Jack: Yeah, at least this was happy.
Me: For now. Hey Pitch!
Pitch: Yes?
Me: Want to hear a really bad joke!
Pitch: Not really.
Me: *ignores* Knock knock.
Pitch: *sighs* Whose there?
Me: Pitch.
Pitch: Pitch who?
Me: Hello I'm Pitch Black, have you seen my eyebrows?
*crickets chirp*
Pitch: -_-
Me: Hehe. *sweats as I look at the deadpan expressions* Bye! *pushes a button and transports away*
Jack: Who do you think will find her and team up?
Bunny: Don't know.
Everyone: Feel free to comment, suggest, ask questions, etc.
Happy Anniversary!
Until next time! :D
