Silence. Pure silence lay all around them as they all stared at the winter spirit, eyes closed in concentration and face pulled tight as if to stay in control of his power that was slowly rushing through his veins. They didn't know what to do to help. All they could do was stare at him as he focused on saving them. Hopefully, he would go undisturbed and the plan would work.
If it didn't…the Guardians wouldn't be able to bare seeing the never ending pain crossing their companion's face and not being able to be relieved of it.
However, fate is never so kind.
Jack was relishing in the silence for it helped him concentrate upon the flow of his power. The other's just continued to gaze at his burned and silent form, occasionally glancing at each other; talking with their eyes since they did not want to break the silence. Their eyes, when met, would show the emotions that swirled in their depths. Fear, worry, sorrow, and anything in relation with them.
Then, to make it worse, there was a large bang and suddenly Kasakit was before them. The noise had caused Jack to flinch and, with a groan, force his fear down and turn back to the power flow. The other Guardians had Jack's reaction and their fear spiked.
"Hmm…" Kasakit hummed as he looked around at the silent prisoners. They were too silent for his liking. His red and black eyes gazed over each of them and stopped on the winter spirit. He walked up to him. "Now what are you doing?"
Jack didn't answer, only gritting his teeth as he tried to block out the sickening voice.
"Leave him alone!" Tooth screeched only to let out a cry of pain when another cut appeared upon her bloodied feathers. Jack flinched at the sound but focused more upon his power. He couldn't let Kasakit get to him. It was silent now, but Jack didn't pay attention to the sudden quiet.
Kasakit held a finger up to his lips as a grin stretched its way across his face. The other's stared in horror as his clawed hand slowly reached through the bars of Jack's cage and within seconds, curled in his hair and yanked. Jack let out a shout and he felt his unbalanced power bubble beneath his skin. His skin chilled in response but he held back.
"Now what are you doing?" Kasakit repeated. He again received no answer. Sighing, he turned to the older Guardians. "Will you tell me?" Silence with glares. "Fine, if you won't tell me, I'll force it out of you."
Jack's eyes shot open at that. "No!" Icy shot out from beneath him, coating his cage but it quickly heated up and melted it all. Jack let out a groan as he tried to control the storm within him and withstand the heat upon his already burned skin.
Kasakit smirked at his pain, throwing him to the ground. "Well, since he's already in pain I'll just move onto the rest of you." He moved to the center of all the cages and frowned. "But I don't want to do it one by one. I want to hear the harmony of your screams all together!" With that and a snap of his fingers, pain raced up their chains and from the floor and they all open their mouths in agony.
Jack could hear them. It hurt to hear such sounds but at the same time he just wanted to shout at Kasakit to stop. But he also knew that if he did, he could possibly unleash the storm that raged within his veins. But when the screams continued to ring in his ears, Jack forced his eyes open and that was his breaking point.
Before him, his friends, his family, writhed in pain. He couldn't let it continued. Anger swelled within his heart and before he knew it, he was pushing his hands to the floor, letting rigid icy spread from the pale hands. It spread up the bars, refreezing and growing colder faster than the bars could heat up. The ice spread outwards from the cage. Kasakit had noticed none of this, his eyes closed as he listened to the screams of the Guardians.
The ice continued to build and Jack felt this chilling power rushing through him. At first it scared him, making his want to pull it back. But when he looked towards the others, the fear fled from his mind. Feeling he never thought that would form in him reared their heads and took over his thoughts.
A loud snap echoed through the chamber followed by a crash. Breaking Kasakit's thoughts, he stopped his torture and turned towards the noise. Before him was Jack broken cage, the metal frozen and broken upon the now frozen water. Snow was swirling in the air and a tornado was forming near the area of the destruction. Two glowing eyes glared at him from the vortex and before he could do anything, a shout of anger echoed and he was slammed into by a powerful force and forced up against a stone wall. Something was pressed up to his throat and he stared into bone chilling eyes.
SO that was that!
*is holding onto a rock for dear life* I know it was short but I hope to have enough strength to stay here!
