Me: *sighs* Fine. It looks like you guys get to chose who joins me here.
Now, onto the chapter!
Years pass
And belief fades away
Childhood figures fall into myth
And what they do evaporates into thin air
Presents no longer come from a man with a red coat
Teeth are no longer taken by fairies
Dreams no longer come from a man of gold sand
Eggs of candy no longer come from a large Bunny
They fade away, lost to memory
But seasons never end
Snowflakes and cold wind stay in mind
For they do not need belief to be seen
The seasons will live
But holidays may not
Tears fall down snowy cheeks in such a way they could be like snowflakes. They shinned so gently but were so fragile. They could be whipped away or fade away as the things around them soaked in the like they gave with no resistance shown. But no fight could be put up to survive. They were powerless to the fate that was given to them, an unchangeable plan set with nothing able to go against it, no matter how much one tries.
And why do such thoughts drift in the air and mind of the young winter spirit? Why do such sad eyes stare off into the distance with rivers gently flowing down his cheeks only to fall and shatter into nothing? The reasons behind this depressing sight were because of a realization given to him by one of the spirits, a realization that no matter how hard he tries to deny, he knows it is truth. No excuse can change the fact given to him.
What is the realization, you may ask? Well, it is known that all spirits rely on some type of belief to survive, whether it be fear or belief it did not matter. There were those who had holidays or stories that kept their belief strong, while others had representations. But should those things end and their connection with the spirit be severed, the spirit will grow weak and fade. So, not only may a spirit die from the secret spell known by Mother Nature and Man in Moon, but they may also grow weak and slowly wither away from disbelief.
But what does such facts have to do with the tears flowing down from the dark blue eyes? Everything, this has everything to do with the cold drops of water that fall without end. He was reminded that, should children stop believing in the Guardians where not even a single light flickers upon the globe, Jack will live past the others unless he chooses to fade away by MiM or Mother. They may not always believe that Santa brings presents or that teeth are taken by fairies but snow and cold temperatures will always fall unless heat melted it all away. People will always know that the season of winter comes and goes as months pass, and Jack, being the representation of winter-King of Winter itself, that belief goes out to power him, even if they say it simply comes from Earth.
He would lose his family without a say in it.
No. Jack shook his head. He would not dwell on that right now, not while they were still here. And if this comes to pass, he would definitely have a say in it. No one would take his family away from him again. He rubbed his eyes with his arm before plastering a smile upon his face, no use in making them worry about nothing.
Then he took off into the sky, going to see one of them to make the fear fade away until time came for it to arise once more. And, upon the large globe at the Pole, a certain moving light glowed brightly.
But even if holidays go away
And just the seasons remain
Family bonds will last forever
And stay strong together
Even if only one
Can keep them together
So that was that! Yeah I know it wasn't the next part to an arc or anything but a story I was reading inspired this don't remember what it was called though so credit of inspiration to that!
Feel free to suggest, comment, ask questions, etc.
Until next time! :D
