Chapter 4:

Sherlock instantly realized where he was and walked purposely down the hallways. To The Doctor it appeared that he was searching for something imparticular. Sherlock eventually found a door he seemed to like the look of and pulled it open. Inside was what looked like a police office.

Sherlock walked into the room like he owned the place. The Doctor trotted along beside him. Inside the room sitting in the police office was a teenage version of Sherlock talking (well more like arguing) with DI Lestrade.

"Look kid, I don't know how on Earth you got in here, but you can't take case files from my office. It's illegal. In fact you breaking in here was illegal."

Teenage Sherlock turned towards Lestrade with calculating eyes. He scanned him up and down before smiling and saying "you're not going to report me Lestrade. Even if you did my brother would make sure I got off scot free. I know you're stressed at home. Your wife presumably, I can tell your wedding ring appears unkempt and dirty indicating troubles with your marriage. I'd assume that these would be caused by you having to work long hours-"

Lestrade stared at him flabbergasted. "How on Earth did you know all that?"

"I didn't know I noticed."

Sherlock sighed and said very simply "Let me help Lestrade. I think I've proven to you that I'm perfectly capable of being a great detective. You heard what I just deduced about you and given the fact I managed to break in here without any of your idiot men knowing surely is worth something."

"I can't give you any cases kid. It'd be illegal and I'll get fired."

"I can assure you, you won't. My brother is very high up in the government and would probably be able to pull a few strings."

"I don't know..."

"At least let me give it a try. I promise that I won't disappoint you."

"If you're sure kid."

"I'm more than sure." The teenage version of Sherlock said as he strolled towards the exit.

"Wait. One more thing, what's your name? And how did you even get in here?"

"My names Sherlock." He said simply before strolling out the door.

Lestrade sighed and put his head in his hands. Sherlock silently walked over to a drawer of case files in the corner of the office and began browsing through them. The Doctor attempted to follow his movements but ended up tripping over a lamp, landing with a loud "THUD."

Lestrade looked up and stared at The Doctor in shock.

"Who are you?"

The Doctor looked over at Sherlock for advice, but Sherlock was too busy looking through the case files to notice the plea for help. The Doctor looked around awkwardly trying to decide on an answer.

"I'm- I'm um... I'm John Smith."

"What are you doing here?"

"Good question... I really don't know what I'm doing here. I'm just kind of... here."

Sherlock suddenly pulled out a couple of case files and jumped up with glee. "Found it!" The noise startled both The Doctor and Lestrade.

Lestrade obviously recognized Sherlock.

"I'll just be taking 'John Smith' here and be leaving now. Laterz!"

He grabbed The Doctor's hand and practically dragged him out of the room. That could've gone better. Sherlock sat down on the floor of the hallway and opened the case files he'd grabbed. The Doctor looked at them and realized that they'd been given titles similar to John's blog. He loved reading John's blog, John always had a story to tell.

Upon closer inspection The Doctor noticed that the case files he'd grabbed were 'The study in pink', 'Reichenbach fall', 'The sign of three,' and 'His last vow'.The Doctor looked at him in confusion.

"Sherlock? Why'd you grab these cases? That room was full of them, why these ones in particular?"

"Shut up and make a deduction!"

"I'm not you Sherlock! I can't just look at you and know everything about you!"

"It's obvious! Think. What do all these cases have in common?"

The Doctor leaned over Sherlock's shoulder and looked at the cases.

'The study in pink' when Sherlock and John first met. 'Reichenbach fall' when Sherlock jumped off a building to save John. 'Sign of three' when John got married to Mary and Sherlock was his best man. 'His last vow' when Sherlock said goodbye to John... again. Think Doctor, what do they all have in common? Eureka! John! They all involve John.

"They all involve John!"

"Well done, you made a completely obvious deduction."

"But still, why these cases Sherlock? Why John?"

"I need to remember him."

"So, why do you need these cases then? Doesn't he have a room in this gigantic mind palace of yours?"

"Of course he has a room! Come with me."

Sherlock tucked away the case files and dragged The Doctor down a hallway. The Doctor cracked a smile trying to resist the urge to say Allons-y! Sherlock stopped at a door and pulled it open. Inside was a completely empty room. Sherlock looked shocked as he stared into the void of the empty room.

"It's gone. All of it, it's just... gone."

Suddenly Ninetta appeared.

"Hey Sherlock."

"What did you do?"

"Well... I have complete control so I did what I do best... I deleted some things."

"You can't just do that!"

"Oh but i can. I can do whatever I want. I run the show now. How about a little game Sherlock? If you win, you can live and I'll never bother you again. But if I win, you either die OR you live your life with no memories. I can't decide which would be more fun to watch..."

"This isn't a fair fight."

"You're right. Fine I'll tell you how you can win, only because I know that it's impossible for you to win. If you wanna win the game, you have to get all your memories back and fight me off. But once somethings been deleted... well it's virtually impossible to get it back. Good luck, Sherlock Holmes."

With that Ninetta vanished. The Doctor looked at Sherlock who was now looking blankly at the room as white as a sheet. The Doctor went up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Sherlock? What's she talking about? What was in this room?"

"I can't believe it, she deleted it... all of it."

"Sherlock? What did she delete?"

"This room, it was John's room."
