A/N: There is no excuse as to why I took so long to get this chapter out, truth is I forgot about this story all together. But hey I'm keeping up the sherlock tradition of once every two years! I'll try and update this throughout this year but I won't make promises that I most likely won't keep. Sorry about the wait though! Also I didn't really know what to write for this chapter... SORRY AGAIN ABOUT THE WAIT
Chapter 6
"John!"
John stopped and turned towards the unknown voice. His jaw dropped when he saw a obviously alive Sherlock running towards him followed by a strange man.
"Sherlock? Is that really you?"
"Yes John it's me."
"How is this possible? I asked you to stop being dead and..."
"I heard you."
"But you can't be here! I saw you die! You jumped off a roof for goodness sake!"
"What can I say John, you know my methods. I'm known for being indestructible."
"Why couldn't you have told me it was all fake to begin with though? Do you have any idea what it felt like to watch my best friend die? I'm a doctor I'm supposed to save people, how do you think I felt thinking that I failed to save my best friend?"
"I know the feeling." The Doctor whispered under his breath.
John whipped around to look at him. Anger obvious in his expression. "Who is this?"
"I'm The Doctor!" The Doctor said cheerfully.
"Look John, I know you're mad at me, but right now I need your help." Sherlock said ignoring John's earlier question.
"And why should I help you Sherlock? You let me believe you were dead, I have no reason whatsoever to want to help you!"
"John, please just hear me out..." Sherlock began.
"No! You hear me out! You let me believe you were dead, that you were a fraud. You let me believe that the only person I trusted since Afghanistan was a liar and lied to me the whole time a knew him. You were my best friend Sherlock and this is how you repay me? Well you know what, I'm done! Done! Done with you and done with your lies. They were right about you, you know. You're not a sociopath, you're a bloody psychopath!"
"John..." The Doctor began.
"You shut up whoever you are!" John yelled.
The Doctor cautiously approached John and put a hand on his shoulder grounding him. "Sherlock did what he did for a reason John." The Doctor stated.
"What reason could possibly justify lying to me and making me believe that my best friend was dead?" John yelled in outrage.
"I did it to save you John. You had to believe I was dead or else Moriarty's snipers would've shot you dead. I only did what I did for you John." Sherlock stated, looking into his best friends eyes.
"Moriarty died!" John yelled.
"He 'died' to make sure I'd go through with the fall. He was the only one who could call off the snipers so while he was alive I had a way to stop them."
"John, what he's telling you is the truth." The Doctor interjected.
"John, right now it doesn't matter if you forgive me, all that matters is that you trust me. Do you trust me John?" Sherlock asked holding his hand out in front of him.
John looked conflicted, like he didn't know how to respond. He bit his lip in thought before putting his hand in Sherlock's and shaking it. "I trust you."
"Good because right now I need your help." Sherlock stated.
"My help? With what?" John asked in confusion.
"Basically there's this monster alien thing inside Sherlock's brain turning it into goo." The Doctor summed up.
"Wait what? Monsters? You can't be serious!" John exclaimed.
"Once you eliminate the impossible..." Sherlock began.
"Whatever remains however improbable must be the truth, I know I know. It's like your catchphrase or something. So this monster thing, why do you need me?" John asked.
"Well the monster is erasing Sherlock's memories, if he can get them back and beat out Ninetta then he gets to live, if he loses well then we become mush alone with his brain given that we are inside it right now." The Doctor stated.
"Ninetta?"
"The monster." The Doctor clarified.
"Okay but why am I important?" John asked.
"John, you're the most important. Why else would she have deleted you first?" The Doctor stated.
"If I got deleted then how am I still here?"
"Sherlock accessed the memory or something, I don't know! I'm an alien from outer space I can't be expected to know everything!"
"John, please I need your help on this. On the outside I may seem like my usual snarky self but inside I'm terrified, my mind is who I am and without it I'm nothing. Please, will you help me with this?" Sherlock asked.
"Of course I'll help you Sherlock, you're my best friend." John responded with a smile.
"Good, now let's go reclaim your memories and stop Ninetta. GERONIMO!"
"Seriously another catchphrase?" Sherlock asked.
"What?" The Doctor asked jokingly.
