Chapter 9: A Blessing

The next day, a black car pulls into the driveway with two men emerging from the inside. Miki opens the door and greets them as they approach her. "Are you Miki Moshimo?" The first man asked her. "Yes, I am. Glad you could make it." She replied. "I'm Father Redmond and this is Psychic Vinnie Foster, I believe that he might be useful for this blessing."

"It's a pleasure to meet you both." Miki shook her hand with both men and welcomed them into the house. Miki and Vinnie entered the living room, but then Vinnie noticed that Redmond didn't come with them. "Father, aren't you going to join us?" Vinnie asked. "Not at the moment," Redmond replied, "I have more important business to take care of." Redmond proceeded upstairs while Miki and Vinnie began their discussion. The priest entered an empty room and opened up his briefcase to begin his blessing.

Meanwhile downstairs, Vinnie and Miki began discussing the situation, which affected the family over the past couple of days. "When have these paranormal occurrences first started?" Vinnie began. "Actually, it all started on the day after we moved in, real early in the morning," Miki replied, "Kiyoshi woke up early and sighted this thing in our house."

"Did he describe it to you?"

"Yes, he stated it was short figure, but it had horns and claws. It kind of reminded me of a gremlin."

"Hmmm… Interesting. This may sound like a…" Suddenly, Vinnie began to feel light-headed and slouched onto the couch as Miki quickly checked on him.

"Hey! Are you okay? Vinnie?" Luckily, Vinnie was able to hear her and quickly replied. "Yes, I'm fine. I just sensed something. I think it's coming from upstairs.

"But Redmond is up there, but… Oh God."

Vinnie and Miki quickly dashed upstairs to find Redmond. The room, the walls, and Redmond's were covered in flies while they swiftly flew all around the room. Redmond was on the ground, curled up to protect him from the flies. Vinnie attempted to aid him, but was a force quickly pushed him back onto the wall. Miki ran over to the windows in order to let the flies out. The flies quickly swarmed out of the room as everything became quiet again. Vinnie quickly got over to Redmond's side and helped him up. "What happened?" Redmond faintly asked. "I'll explain later," Vinnie replied, "Come on downstairs, you just fainted." Vinnie and the priest went downstairs in the living room leaving Miki alone. However, when she turned to face the room one last time, she noticed some crimson words written on the wall. "GET OUT," it read and Miki quickly went downstairs to aid the others.
