VI: do you remember
Characters: Levy, Gajeel (duh) & cameos by Lucy, Cana, and Erza
AN: This one really turned out better than I thought it would, and if I'm being completely honest, it's probably my favorite. I recently realised, however, that most of these (actually, all of these, with the exception of the first one) are school - centred. Sorry...I do struggle coming up with good prompts for AU. You'd think it'd be easier - but no. That is certainly not the case. In light of this discovery, I am currently accepting any & all prompts for consideration. However! I DO NOT DO SMUT AND/OR LEMON. You have been sufficiently warned. If you don't like it, suck it up. My stories, my rules. Anyhow, now that all of that is out of the way here is the next chapter of time and time again. Please read, enjoy, and review.
P.S. Please feel free to yell at me in all caps to express your anger at my once - again tardiness in your review. ;-;
**note: the headcanon here is that Levy has had a really rough long week.
"DO YOU think - ?"
"There's no way. It's just unprofessional."
"Shut up, Erza. Besides, who are you to talk about being unprofessional? I've seen the way you watch Mr. Fernandes."
"Cana! Please!"
"Oh, everybody hush up! Here she comes!"
The classroom door swung open to reveal a petite woman in her early twenties. Her aquamarine hair was pulled into a loose bun at the nape of her neck, its nonchalant look embellished all the more with a pencil stuck through the middle. "Bon matin, class."
She lifted an eyebrow.
"Je souhaite que vous avez fait vos devoirs."
A collective groan escaped the entire class simultaneously.
She bit back a small smile.
"Think they're making bets?"
"No, that's something I would expect more from the boys in your class." She laughed against his chest as he sifted his large palms through her sky - kissed hair. "They just like to fantasise about what we do, like where we go on dates and things like that."
He smirked. "What else do they talk about?"
"Gajeel," she said in exasperation.
"Yer the one letting yer mind roll into tha gutter, pint - size."
She nestled closer, shifting on the couch cushion as he flipped aimlessly through channels.
"Although, they did call our relationship 'unprofessional.'' He hm - ed and furrowed a brow before settling on BBC for some good ol' Doctor Who.
A yawn escaped her. "I'm so tired.."
"Mmm."
"I have so many papers to grade, too. Ugh."
Gajeel's palm slid to her neck and begin massaging the small knot there with his fingers. She curled even closer into his warm, strong side and nuzzled him. Within minutes; she was fast asleep.
He felt a smile curl across his lips.
"Bonne nuit, mon petit moineau." He placed a soft kiss onto her temple before scooping her into his lap and closing his eyes.
The next morning, she poured herself a cup of coffee and shook some cereal into a bowl and prepared to go through the many, many papers she needed to grade. To her immediate surprise, however, she found every single one already graded and marked up properly. Heck, it even looked like her handwriting. But how - ? She was pretty sure she hadn't done them yet, so how - ?
A hand brushed her back. "Got bored last night after putting ya to bed so I did them for ya," Gajeel's voice said into the pretty curve of her ear. I know how tired ya've been, he thought. She looked up at him with shining eyes. "Thank you so much, Gajeel. I really owe you one." He grinned sharkily. "Don't think I won't hold it against ya later, girl." He tugged on one of her locks gently before opening the cabinet to get his own coffee cup.
"Je t'aime, Gajeel."
"Je connais," he answered without missing a beat.
This time she didn't hold her grin back - she let it pour from her like sunshine.
