Chapter 11: An Imaginary Friend
Miki went across the main hallway to find Takeo in the living room playing with his toys, but she realized that he seemed to be talking to someone that didn't exist. Becoming puzzled, Miki went into the living room to talk with him. "Takeo," Miki asked confused, "Who are you talking to?" Takeo turned to her and smiled. "Oh, hi Mommy," Takeo replied, "I'm playing with my friend, Petey."
"Who's Petey?"
"He's my friend, I met him when we first came here."
"Can you describe him for me, Takeo?"
"What do you mean, Mommy?"
"I mean what does he look like? Is short, tall, fat, skinny, old, little?"
"He is short like me, but he is old like Daddy or you. He looks like a toy robot, but broken."
Suddenly. Miki began to feel a presence emerge in the room, but for some reason, Takeo seemed unnoticed about the strange apparition. After that, Takeo stated, "Petey is standing right behind you." Although that Miki actually does feel this strange feeling, she tried to tell herself that it's just her imagination and quickly replied, "Uhhh… There's no one there, sweetie. It's just your imagination."
"No it's not, Mommy. He's really standing behind you."
"Yes it is!"
Suddenly, some of Takeo's toys flew across the room and Miki quickly grabbed Takeo and dashed out of the room. "Kiyoshi? Kiyoshi?" Miki called.
Later that night, Kiyoshi and Miki were in the kitchen talking about that incident earlier that afternoon. "It seems that Takeo knows this ghost as well, but as an imaginary friend." Miki declared. "An imaginary friend?" Kiyoshi asked.
"Yes, apparently he calls it "Petey" He states that he first "met" this apparition when we first moved in here. I believe now it's time to call some investigators to find out what's going on."
"Maybe, we should also get the priest and the psychic to come over as well. Hopefully this time we can destroy this menace once and for all."
"Agreed, I don't want that kids to become psycho by this 'thing' and neither do I."
"Then it's settled, we'll find someone to help us and you get the priest and the psychic."
After their conversation, Miki and Kiyoshi went upstairs to bed, but behind their backs the sinister face appeared from the window with its face shifting into a grin. An evil, menacing grin…
