Warning this one is a bunch of time skips and POV changes. Got to read all the way through to understand it in full and why it keeps flashing back and forth. Sorry if it's slightly confusing!
Seira Gardner
It's been a few days since the Santa Claus incident and finding out that my baby sister is also my future granddaughter. Mess up family tree but hey, it's my family get over it. I stretch up happy as can be. Today we are leaving to go back home to Arkansas. We are heading there for Christmas. Sir and Lady were already told about the extra people coming along. Hank is pack and ready. From what I can tell he's nervous and it's in a way kinda cute. Victor is well, lets say he's not looking forward to meeting the future in-laws besides Rany-pa and the twins. Pete is I'm not sure. He seems fine with it but when I get near him the smell of nervous and scare cross over each other strong with him.
Ray is now bouncing on my be excited. She's letting her blond hair show now. Her hair is natural fluffy, curly I mean, and has dark roots. She looks like a little kid by how her hair is. She's excited to be heading home and see our munchkins more then I. I didn't think that was possible till I found out that few mutant kids have been saved from Friends of Humanity and brought there.
I look over my shoulder to where Amber is. She's fidgeting. "Stop." I told her going back to my book, it's a random one that I took from Ray's collection she's gotten since she became a DeBlaca. This one is about a family of witches. Seven sisters and the youngest will pass on the witch powers to her children, which going to be seven girls when they are born. It's really interesting.
3RD PERSON POV ~ Unknown Location
Running through the woods is a girl with sandy blond hair and black eyes. Fear struck her hard as she ran. The girl behind her is slightly older trying to keep up with the younger girl. "Come on Lane!" The younger girl called back reaching to her. The older one with black hair and Asian characteristics reach forward for her friend as a man came out of no where and caught her pulling her down the side of the tree that the younger one was climbing. "Lane!" The younger one scream in fear. "Lane!" she scream out as tears fell down her face. She kept climbing though. Claws out and eyes black from fight.
"Seira go!" Lane scream out as she fought with the man. Lighting form around her as she try to escape but the man had on plastic jacket and gloves. He wasn't affected by her shock. The cold was getting to both young mutants but the older one was knocked out. Seira look over the edge of the tree and softly sob for her best friend, her only friend.
Three years ago she was caught by Friends of Humanity and that's when she met Lane. Lane was only about five years older than her. The girl is about nine years old and scare for her life. "Where is the Fetal?" She could hear a man growl out. The man that scares everyone. He has short blond hair that he keeps comb back and dark blue eyes. He's tall and well built. Always with a frown or scowl on his face.
"She went up the tree. We can't see her. Nasty creature." Another man said in perfect speech. Seira whimper softly as she pull her legs closer to her.
"She won't survive long out here." The boss, the scarier one, said as they walk off. Seira waited another ten minutes before jumping from the branch she's on to the next one. She wants go to back and save her fifteen year old friend but she doesn't know how to. She can't yet but she will.
TIME JUMP~ Christmas
Harper's POV
I skip out of my and Amber's room with Amber straggling behind me. "I hate mornings." She whine slightly. We all do but Christmas mornings are always special to everyone. I got down to the bottom floor and smile as I saw the kids already around slightly pushing each other and laughing. Lady Rha is already passing out the gifts and then when she got to the six new kids she stopped. With a warm smile she got down on to her knees and whisper something to Lena who nod her head. The little Native American mix with African child ran upstairs as fast as she could then three minutes pass she squeal. I turn around to see her try to come downstairs with more gifts. Hank got up and help her and her dark skin and hazel eyes pop at him helping her. "Tank yous, Mr Ank." She said with a big smile.
"You are very welcome, Miss Lena." He said softly patting her dark curl hair and they came down with the gifts. Lena look at each gift and gave each color gifts to the newest kids.
"You got us gifts too?" The one with orange eyes asked. She's about fifteen, maybe sixteen.
"Of course we did." Lady said with a warm smile. "Everyone deserves a gift on Christmas." The one with Orange eyes got some tears in her eyes from joy and hugged Lady of the Orphanage and then got down on her knees hugging Lena who squeal with happiness. I smile and glance back to the only grumpy party though he's not really grumpy just slightly annoyed with Lena's squealing, she's seven she's going to squeal.
"Lena, why don't you help me pass out the adult's presents?" I ask her getting to her level. She start to nod her head really fast then made herself dizzy. She is the newest DeBlaca, she was officially adopted by Lady Rha and Sir Chris a few weeks ago. She has a dark past like most of the kids around here. She has a lips from not talking until she was five. It's cute way she tries to say h sounds but can't quiet make them yet. She's trying though.
We got over to the tree and I sat down with her in my lap. "Pete. Grrr." Ray whisper to her handing her a medium sized box wrap with blue paper. Lena jump up and ran over to the Giant man with black hair handing him the box then run back jumping up and down in front of us.
I pick up the next box and motion to Hank. "Blue Fuzzball." I said and she laugh slightly taking it running over to the now aggravated Doctor McCoy.
Amber yawn with her head in Ray's lap and I thump her. She sat up and growl at me and we then start to push each other. The twins laughing at us. "Shuddup!" Amber growl at them and lay back down on Ray's leg with her trying not to laugh at us. "Here, give dese to dem." She said handing two boxes, a red and light blue one, to Lena and motion to the twins. She nod her head and walk over to them tilting the boxes around and they open the cards and then trade boxes before opening them. I smirk and then look around noticing that no other presents are under the tree besides Lady Rha and Sir Chris's.
Rany-pa is sitting in his chair, he claim it when we first got it and ever since every time he visits he sits there, watching us. "Where are the others?" I wonder looking to him and the orphanage owners.
"Dats a secret." He said sipping his coffee with a grin. I grin back at him jumping up and running over to him. He caught me after placing his coffee down and pull me over to him making me laugh like a kid I am at heart. "Secret, meanin' ya ain't lookin' for dem!" he laugh out.
I lean back with my back partly on his chest and look up to my father figure and smile. "Meanie." I pout and he roll his eyes reaching to the side of the chair taking out a red present and placing it on my lap. My eyes got wide and I slowly open it.
I squeal like Lena when I saw what's inside the box. "Wat is it!?" Lena ask/squeal jumping in front of us happy as can be. The others look to me and I laugh as I took out the teddy bear that has a Santa Hat. It's not very big but so cute. It's black with blue button eyes and Santa hat is removable. Inside it has other stuff to put on the bear. Under the bear is another stuff animal, this one being a small white tiger cub and I hugged Rany-Paw then jump up hugging both the twins because they know my weakness to White Tigers and cuteness like that. They laugh and for the hell of it I got down and hug Lena too. She giggled.
When I hugged Sir and Lady I felt Sir put something in my hoody's pocket and I let go going back to my spot by the tree and my two sisters and my youngest I guess you can call her my niece, sitting in my lap. I reach in to my pocket and took out a small box and open it to see a necklace with the birth stone of the month that I was left here. I smile mouthing the words thank you to them and they nod their heads. The twins gave Ray and Amber their presents and opening them I bust out laughing. Amber has the Rubber Duck look a like from the hood ordainment of Convoy the movie. "Jealous." I told her and she smile pouncing the twins in to a tight hug each. She then hugged Rany-pa and Lena snuggle closer to me.
Ray tear up slightly in joy as she open her box and saw inside was old books and journals. "We found dem." Rany-pa said simply with a shrug. Ray hug them all tightly and said thank you through choke up tears. They also sat down and I saw that they took out boxes from their pockets and smile as she notice that they were necklaces like mine but with their birthstones in them. All three stones are in center of the letter "D" and it's beautiful. Gold, looks real, knowing Sir and his connections it might be real.
That Night
I walk over to where Victor is. He's the only person who didn't get a present earlier because I told the family to not get him anything. I know stuff like this he's not use to so he wouldn't know how to react or anything. I slip my arms around his and rest my head on it. He look down to me with a raise eyebrow. "I didn't think you would want to open this in front of the others." I told him with a box in my hand showing it to him. He reach down and take the small box out of my hand glancing down to me confused. "Open it." I whisper to him softly.
He open it carefully and then stop looking over the object that caught my eye a while back but I didn't know who to give it to till now. "What is it?" He ask softly I barely heard him. I roll my eyes and took out a little necklace I've been wearing for a while now and picked up the object in the box putting it in his hand and motioning to the necklace. He put it to the center of the heart shape locket and it unlock opening up.
Nothing is in it yet but he smile getting it. "I'm giving you the key to my heart." I told him softly. He went down and softly kissing my lips and I of course kissed back. His warm strong lips fighting for dominance and he wrap his arms around me tightly keeping me warm. He loves it obviously. I pull away from him and move the leather string around his neck tying it so it wouldn't come off of him unless he took it off.
He pull me closer to him and pick me up. I squeak slightly and he carry me off to the woods close by. I curl closer to him for warmth when the wind start to blow making me colder. He stop after a while and place me down showing me a place just off our property through the woods that I never knew about. My eyes went wide and I softly gasp looking at it then back to him surprise. He just smirk.
The woods turn in to a field with rocks surrounding it. There is a creek like pond in far right side of it and a small stream that branch off of it. It's small but so beautiful. "I never knew this was here." I told him, he doesn't look surprise.
"Most don't." He told me as he went over to a tree and sat down on the roots that's above ground. The cold made the creek freeze over and snow everywhere but this place is still beautiful. I went over to him and sat in his lap curling closer to him for warmth and enjoying the beauty of this place.
Two Months Later
(February 2005)
Warmth. I curl closer to it and felt purring and opening my eyes. I sigh and then rub my eyes sitting up and glancing around. I'm at the mansion again and fell asleep watching Lion King series with Ray and Amber. We force the men to watch them with us and poor Victor doesn't understand why we cried when Mufasa died. We tried to explain it to him but he still didn't get it. The other two said they weren't trying to understand it.
I stretch slightly and notice he brought me back to my room and smile down to him. He's really getting a hang on being a good boyfriend now. He even don't growl as much between words when he has to 'sweet talk' me or as Amber and Ray calls it "Vomit-worthy" talk. He does it low though and makes sure only I can hear him. He found a way to mess with me because his deep voice right in my ear. I shook my head clear before I got arouse and woke him up.
I got up and got my clothes to go take a shower. After I finish drying off and got dress I walk out of my bathroom and smile. Victor is sitting on my bed still somewhat tired and hungry. He is grumpy when he's hungry. He is a lot like Hank and Logan that way. I let him do his morning stuff and I put my boots on and waited for him. He came out a few minutes later fully dress and look to me. "Hungry?" I ask him. He nod his head and we then started our way to the kitchen. Once there I decided to cook, rare I know but I'm in the mood to.
I made a lot of bacon, sausages, and other breakfast meats, then pancakes -blueberry and regular- and french toast. The other three fetals and half fetal came in to the room and smelt the food sitting down at the table with somewhat manors. I learn by now that only one that will have manors in the morning is Hank and that's because if he doesn't then Amber will be mad at him. He drank his coffee as Amber splits up the news paper. She got the funnies and gave him the business part. Logan look at the sports and then lost interest in it. I try not to laugh when Amber hand Ray the part with the puzzles and she worked on them.
"Ray," I felt fear. I stop what I was doing and turn to face Amber where the fear is coming from. The fear is stinking and the black goo is starting to snap out. I move the food off the burner and went over to Amber worriedly. She and Ray move so I can see and I gasp.
"How?" Ray ask with tears in her eyes. She's slightly freaking out and I don't blame her. The paper shows Ray and Pete in town walking around. Under it it shows her birth name. There were quotes from her so call father saying how he misses her and wish she will return home.
I don't know what to say or do so I pull her in to a tight hug. "He's not going to get you." I heard myself tell her keeping her close to me till her panic attack is over. When she start to breathe right she pull away and wipe her eyes. "I'm not going to let him get you." I told her straight on and she nod her head.
"None of us will." Hank comfort her.
3rd POV ~ New Jersey
A blond hair girl not even ten, if barely nine, walk through the crowded streets and wonder how she got here. She was running in the woods then heard gunshots, when she woke up she was in a hospital bed and had these bandages on but she jump out of the bed when people start to come around. She ran as fast as she could. She's scared, hungry, and alone. She's always alone.
"Hey, lil gal!" Someone yell and grab a hold of the girl's arm. Her eyes turn pure black and she push them away. Her claws and teeth sharp as she hiss at the man who reek of booze and cigarette smoke. He pull away. "Ya a freak!" He slur his words and stumble backwards. The girl then start to run scare and not sure where she is and want nothing but her lost friend.
Once she felt she was safe she fell and cried in the dirty ground till someone walk over to her. "Are you Seira Gardner?" The older man ask. She glance up to him and saw him smile down to her. "I'm Magneto, would you like to come with me to be around others that are like you?" He ask sweetly but something about him didn't sit right with Seira. Hungry and lost though she really had no choice, she nod getting up and the man lead her to where other people are.
Harper's POV
(March 2005)
Sitting with Amber who's harassing Hank trying to get him to go to the movies with her. He has been stress from work, he's a Senator for Mutant kind or something like that, and she wants him to relax some. He still saying no and in truth way people been acting I don't blame him. Everyone has gone crazy the past few months trying to force an act to pass to make Mutants have to step up saying they are or not. It's not right if you ask me. It's like the Holocaust all over again.
I got up and walk over to the door looking out frowning. It's March and Victor said he had to leave for a few weeks and it's very lonely with out him here. I sigh and then felt someone walk up behind me. I turn to see Jean walking over to me. Her moods are hard to read. "Jean?" I call her and she just kept walking pass me. Alina is off babysitting and spends the weekends here with us. Ray hardly leaves the Mansion since she saw that news paper article. Amber saw and I gave her my 'you know?' look. She shrug her shoulders then glance up the stairs where she knows our sister would be.
I sigh and walk away to find where they are hiding, though I already know. Alina is training hand to hand with Logan in the yard and Ray is training with Pete and Kurt in the danger room. I got to the elevator and press the button going down to the Danger Room floor then walk in to the visual room above the danger room watching them. Ray is getting faster and better at her powers. She dodge something shooting at her and then turn invisible when a sensor was going over and didn't see her. I smile as she then came to and kicked the last thing and it went flying back. Victor showed her own to let loose her inner beast. I've learn that she's a feline like her grandfather and her invisible power is from her grandmother. Mystique is her grandmother so instead of shape-shifting like Mystique can she can show what is behind her and slowly her skin and then everything inside goes invisible.
I lean against the wall watching them with wonder. Pete would use his power by placing his hand on her head and then the metal that's part of him will cross over her skin and while she's like that she can turn him invisible too. It's really interesting how they interact with each other. "He's her mate yet with out her inner fetal awaken she was able to recognize him as her mate." I heard someone said and turn to the male voice I recognize right away. Professor was being push in by Scott who hasn't said anything yet. "It's really fascinating."
"Did you know she was Victor's granddaughter?" I ask really wanting to know the answer. Honest answer.
"I had my suspensions." He admit wisely.
3rd POV ~ Secret
Magneto walk around the blond hair girl with dark eyes and try to figure out what precisely is her power. He knows she's not a fetal though she looks like one. She doesn't heal like one or acts like one. She doesn't have the fighting instinct. He is starting to believe she's a new breed of Mutant-kind. She might be better than Fetal if he can find more like her.
She doesn't like the way he's looking at her as he circle her. "M-" She starts but lost her voice. Taking a deep breath she tried again. "Magneto, may I please leave?" She ask looking up to him. He gave her a thoughtful look then nod his head dismissing her. She jump up and ran out of the room. Once she was safely away from him she sigh in relief.
"Scary when you are under the hawk's eyes?" A voice she learn to hate ask as it came closer. The younger girl glare at her as she smile so sweetly. "Oh, Siera, you might be my father's interest right now but don't worry, he will lose it soon enough." She said as she walk pass to where her father, Magneto, is now.
Older girl with brown hair and dark eyes is beautiful and has everything handed to her on a silver platter. Seira went running after one of few mutants here that's not mean to her, Pyro or Avalanche.
Harper's POV
(June 2005)
It's been three months and yet Victor hasn't return yet. Xavier keeps telling me not to worry to much about him but how can I not? He's been gone for to long. Something is wrong I know it! He should have been back by now.
I sigh and let myself fall back on to my bed to tired to do anything else. Ray is subbing for me today. I softly cried missing him isn't the worst part but the pain that is surrounding me because he's not here. It's like something is ripping me apart. Something with very sharp claws.
I stayed curl up in my covers not wanting to face the world. Amber and Ray both came to see me as have Rogue. She's still dating Bobby though he cheating on her with Kitty and everyone, even she knows it. Logan has threaten him and nearly tried to skin him a few times but Rogue always stop him. Bobby hasn't figured out why Logan is so protective of Rogue yet. Not many knows they are mates just she is to young to be claim as of yet. She's what nineteen? She's not ready to be claim in full. He's staying like a father step till he is needed as her mate which better be soon or so help me I'm going to skin Bobby alive.
I groan covering my head up and glare up at the headboard when someone walked in to my room. "Ya know being in bed all day is bad for ya." I growl at the fetal not caring what he says or do. "Up." He said flipping my mattress making me fall off my bed. I bare my teeth and I can feel anger boiling in me that I didn't know I could have. "Calm down." He growl at me. I force myself up and walk to the bathroom and saw my eyes were pure black and I have fangs like vampires. My face seems spotless and paler. As I calm down I watch as my body turn back to normal. I wash my face and walk back out slightly scared of myself right now. "Ya powers are growing." Logan told me crossing his arms over his chest. I nod my head, agreeing.
3rd POV ~ Unknown
A man over six feet tall walk down the road his blond hair in messy curls going out like an animal's main. He growl out black eyes as he watch the people back up. "Answer me." He roar out. They were all scared and not knowing what to do or say. He's looking for someone that they all thought to be dead. The missing orphan that left at the dark of the night. They believed she was eaten by an alligator or something.
"No, child here." A man said shaking his head. His dark locks cover his dirty face and the bigger man growl and roar in to the air running off on all fours like an animal of nightmares, like a giant cat. He doesn't know why but he does know he needs to find her. This girl that haunts his dreams is in danger. She's only a child and he knows that being around his mate for as long as he has that he will have to take care of this child. This little girl was so scared in his dreams she was screaming. He recognized her surroundings to a bayou in Louisiana that he went to once. It was a long time ago but he remembers it like it was yesterday.
He roar out again pissed that he couldn't even follow her scent. It's long lost. She was a brunette originally and her hair was bleached. She remind him of his mate and he need to find this child before something bad happens. He knows that she is still alive. He doesn't know how but his instincts are never wrong about these things.
Harper's POV
(October 2005)
I am sitting with Amber in my class watching the kids do their work. Ray is off doing who knows what. Victor hasn't been back yet but I did hear from him. He called a few days ago and my powers are still going crazy along with my 'mate instinct' or whatever it's called. It hurts that he's not here and I need him to be here.
"You okay?" Amber ask turning to me knowingly. I nod my head and she rest her's against mine. "A few more weeks he told you earlier." She remind me of his call and I nod my head in a better mood now.
We work through the class, her with the younger kids and I with the older. They got done their work so we let them go outside to read. We are reading right now Adventure with Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. They are loving it through and through.
After that we ate lunch and Amber decided she was going to distract me with music. Smart girl. She start a radio and put it on a country station then ran over to me pulling me up and made me dance with her. Some of the kids join us and all of us at the end was laughing and enjoying ourselves. Amber pull me in to a hug, her hair flying around me as she did. I hug her back, I'm happy I have such a caring sister like her.
3rd POV ~ Maine
The monster of their nightmares is upon them and they don't understand why he's not attacking them. Then the girl that was with them, the only somewhat human of them, walk forward. "You are here for me?" She ask, her Cajun accent seeping through the forced City one.
Her hair is shorter and her brown is start to come back. The monster grunt and the girl ran forward, she just turn ten and happy that finally something good happen. "Sabertooth, you betray us and now you want to take her?" Nasty toad like croak out at the bigger man. He just growl and bare his teeth. "You can take her." The toad said jumping back behind the two taller boys that was protecting her for so long now.
"Hey, 'Tooth, take care of our shadow will ya?" One call out his brown hair long and shaggy but well kept. He smirk knowing his friend will take care of the girl who has been tormented here, not torture just tormented. The only ones on the girl's side was them two.
The other also brown hair that's shaggy but short look to them and then wink at the girl. "You be safe, tell the old man in wheelchair that we are all fine here." he said flicking his lighter and making flames to form around his hand. The girl nod her head and walk off with the giant cat like man. He's not a monster to her but they are all fear of him.
Harper's POV
(November 2005)
"HARPER!" I jolt up from my bed hearing Amber scream on top of her lungs. I ran downstairs not caring that I'm still in my sleep clothes and stop at the top of the stairs and gasp. The man that I love was coming in with a girl in his arms. She has shoulder length brown hair and she's asleep leaning against him. "So you found the girl?" I heard the professor said rolling over to where Victor stood. "Seira?" He said softly reaching for the sleeping girl. He touch her and she awoke and her eyes they were the same color as mine. I went down and was looking at her and softly gasp.
"Harp, why does she look like a mini you?" Ray ask shock as hell.
"I don't know." I answer truthfully.
The girl look at me and her eyes widen. "You look like my mommy but younger." She said with tears forming and falling down her face. "Mommy died when I was little." She then added. Victor put her down carefully and I got down to her level wiping away her tears.
"What is your name?" I ask her softly though I am sure I heard Professor said it to wake her up.
She softly played with my hair then touch my face. "It's Seira Gardner." She told me as she stopped. "Are you um." She stop and thought about it for a moment. "DeBlack?" She then open her eyes.
"DeBlaca?" I corrected her in a question surprise she could have known my family's name, not mine but my family's.
"That's it!" She smile then lost the smile. "Are you her?"
"I was raised by them. Ray and Amber both took their last name, they both took on that name, but I never did." I told her. She then look to my sisters then back to me. "How do you know of it?" I ask shock.
"Momma told me that one day my big sister will come for me." She answer then look to the Professor. "Momma also told me that when time is right that a scary man would be there to guide me to her. I thought that the man Magneto was him but he wasn't. When everyone was scared of Tooth I figure that was who momma was talking about." She kept on.
"Was your mother a physic?" Ray ask curious as I am.
"She could tell the future." the girl said looking to Ray. "She could also do what the nice man can do. Oh and big brother Pyro told me to tell you that everyone there is okay." She added turning to Xavier.
He nod his head and then look to me. "Looks like your family is just growing isn't it?" He ask with a knowing smile.
I gasp at him and then look to the little girl who's looking up at me. "You knew why Victor left and you didn't tell me?" I ask with accusing look.
"No. I knew another physic I couldn't find was contacting him through his subconscious." He correct me wheeling himself away. "If she is long dead that's why I couldn't find her."
"If she's dead how could she be contacting him?" Amber ask confuse as the rest of us.
"She sent them to him before she died but his subconscious didn't connect them till he had his mate." Hank answer after he figure it out. The professor being secretive again just roll himself away. I glared at him.
