Chapter 8: Divorces and Proposals
Author's Note: Sorry for the very long delay. I stepped out of the writing circle all together for a long time after going through some stuff in real life. But I am slowly resurrecting old stories, both fanfiction and original, so I hope that some of you are still watching this story. There are probably only going to be this and one more chapter for this story. Enjoy!
-Three Days Later- Cupid-Halliwell Condo
Coop looked around at his home as his soon to be ex-wife sat on the sofa watching him pack some of his belongings.
"Phoebe, I never meant to mislead you. I had no idea when the Elder's first sent me to you that it was in hopes that I would fall in love with you. I wish you would reconsider this," He began trying to plead again with his wife. She shook her head but was lost in her own thoughts. Their three daughters were in the care of their Aunt Piper and Uncle Leo. She was staring at the male ring that sat atop the coffee table as light reflected from the deep crimson stone set in its band.
"I can't. Change my mind I mean," Phoebe began trying to find her words "I believe you Coop. I really do and I love you. But,"
"That doesn't matter. As long as he's alive and you know the truth now you're going back to him," Coop finished grimly. She nodded slowly and kept her face guarded trying to hide the tears. Phoebe Halliwell felt awful that it had to end this way but she and Coop had gone to talk to Venus herself about the situation that they had found themselves in recently.
Coop's boss had reported while it was against the rules she had intended for Cole Turner and Phoebe Halliwell to be the perfect soul mates. It was the only way to save the human spirit of the half-breed. But his love for the witch grew on its own and she had no involvement in their relationship after setting the arrow on them, figuratively Phoebe assumed, and opening their hearts to each other. Phoebe had learned two very important things that evening during their conversation, One was that her and Cole made it work on their own with no cosmic help after the initial meeting, and Two, Coop was just a loop hole when her and her sisters had vanquished Cole all those years ago.
Venus even told the middle Charmed one that Coop was meant to be her cupid from the Elders and was her way of helping the witch find love after Cole. The two had similar traits in their personality and it was the best that the Matron of romance could find for her.
"You know that you made it worse right? By never sticking around and talking to me," Phoebe said to Coop pulling herself out of her reflections "I still feel guarded with you despite having been married for three years. That isn't right and you know it."
"I know but in my defense I really did try Pheebs. But you would block me out every chance you got. Until I finally realized what it was, by then we were married and Patricia was on her way. I had to make this work," Coop responded before letting out a sigh and walking over to her. He placed a hand on her face "But I have been called back. I have not acted as a mortal husband should and in Venus' book that is pretty much a deal breaker. I won't fight with you anymore about this"
"There is not much more to fight about, honestly. We have been going in the same circles for days now Coop. What else is there to say? You've watched Cole with the girls and the family. You know he is human, you sensed it with your own ring for crying out loud!" She answered with exasperation now "I truly am sorry and hope that you can forgive me one day."

Halliwell Manor
Cole traced his index finger over the worn out back of the old full size bed while staring up at the wooden trim of the attic ceiling. Leo and him had made a temporary alcove in the attic for him to stay in until everything was settled. He played out the past few days in his head and knew that it was all coming to an end. A smile spread across his lips as he thought about what Piper and Leo had both told him. Piper had told him about what Coop's own boss had told the Cupid about Cole being the true soul mate for Phoebe, and that now that he was human there were no more obstacles in their way.
"Well this should be interesting," He whispered in to the calm, quiet room around him. He was alone as it was midday and the kids were at Magic School with Leo. Cole's eyes then danced over to the other side of the bed as he remembered all of the nights he spent in this very bed with Phoebe Halliwell. Cole had not felt this relaxed since before he was possessed by the Source and Prue's death.
Before Cole realized it he fell in to a light slumber while thinking about the butterfly kisses that turned in to passionate nights, the long conversations about a future both knew was uncertain, and movie nights where they watched black and white classics on her little television in her room. He dreamed of the first time he proposed to her in the green goo.
Cole then felt a shift on the bed and flinched in to a defensive stance before feeling the soft hair falling across his face. He felt the all to familiar presence as he laid back and opened his arms to her.
"Penny for your thoughts?" a soft whisper in his ear sent a jolt of electricity up his spine as he looked deep in to her brown eyes and shrugged
The two decided to lay there awhile basking in the silence and enjoying the mid-afternoon sun that came in colored waves through the stained glass windows of the attic. Cole pulled Phoebe in closer with his left arm while stroking her hair with his right and held on to her as if he was afraid this moment would shatter in to a million pieces and he'd wake up back in Limbo. After some time he felt the soft kisses at the base of his neck. He moved his hand down to pull Phoebe's face to his and placed a kiss on her soft pink lips.
She closed her eyes and let out a soft moan in to the kiss before wrapping her arms around him awkwardly while trying to pull him even closer. She could smell his all to familiar cologne and grinned breaking the kiss when she felt the fabric of his shirt
"You had to borrow one of Leo's flannel shirts after all huh?" She said with a small melodious giggle
"I hardly think now is the time to tease me, in more ways than one!" Cole said in a deep gravelly voice before sitting up and pulling her in to his lap while sitting on the bed "How did it go?"
"It's over. Coop and I will file the official papers first thing Monday morning. I think he got just as tired as I did of fighting all the time. He knows he's welcome to come see the girls whenever he'd like," she said as a tear slipped out at the mention of their daughters. Cole raised his hand to her face once again drying her tears away then stroked her cheek with his thumb "I know that this is the right thing though. I feel it with every fiber of my being!"
Cole grinned at that and placed a kiss on her forehead "Marry Me... again. I thought about it and instead of reversing our papers I think we should do a proper wedding. The one you had originally planned for us all those years ago, perhaps?"
Phoebe shook her head no "It has to be small and intimate this time. Just our family and a few friends. We will do it here at the house. But Cole, I want to wait awhile maybe a year before..." She paused and he smiled down at her
"Of course. We will take all the time you need and what's better; We actually have the freedom of time now my love," Cole answered and returned to lounging on the bed. She crawled on top of him to kiss his face and rest her head where she could hear his heartbeat. It was completely human and she traced the neckline of his shirt before letting out a deep breath and grinned up at him
"What do you say we get you out of the flannel Mr. Turner? It suits Leo just fine but so isn't you" Her eyes lit up with the double meaning and Cole responded with a devilish grin of his own
"I couldn't agree more Ms. Halliwell!"
