It was hard for NCIS to believe Jethro Gibbs' infectious good mood! He hummed lightheartedly, even smiled! Suzanne's pregnancy was a very surprising change of events for Team Gibbs. The team scoured documents for a recent case. He distributed more packages to team members. Instead of the subordinates, the boss had a fulfilling life outside the workplace, even suggested his single colleagues to 'find someone; it's never too late.'
"I said never again after the last one." Jethro sipped on the coffee, glanced over a file, tossing it with others. "I fell for Susie…you know the rest."
The main line chimed. It was Suzanne, speaking of which, on the other end. He smiled and kept the answers short.
"Really!?" Jethro beamed. "Everything's okay?"
"Everything's fine. We're okay. Dr. Pauley's concerned about my blood pressure. It's just a little bit high. Nothing out of the ordinary." Suzanne explained. "I'll talk about it when you get home tonight."
"I love you too." He replied.
"She okay, Boss?" Tony asked.
"Just jet-lagged and very tired from the pregnancy…anyway, that's her last trip until she gives birth."
Jethro reached in the desk and distributed packages among the coworkers. "For us?" Tim asked.
"It's from Suz. She came back from Tokyo Wednesday afternoon." Gibbs shared.
"Feels good, doesn't it, Jethro?" Ducky commented.
"Oh, yeah." Jethro picked up the honeymoon picture, chuckled. "I won't need to worry about her half-way around the world."
"Do you know the sex of the baby?" Abby asked.
"Babies." Gibbs shared. "First sonogram didn't detect it; this one did. Suzanne is pregnant with twins and one won't turn around. One is a boy."
"That is Shannon's handiwork." Ducky chuckled.
"I'd like to think so."
"How is Suzanne? Is she okay?" Tim asked.
"She's pissed, but…she'll get over being benched."
Suzanne managed to physically and professionally continue at the fast-paced quickness of her job title before the pregnancy. In fact, she performed above previous expectations. The President's popularity gained momentum in response to the hard work.
Suzanne was in her second trimester, meaning several options could no longer be avoided. Air travel would become restricted, even with the federal government's entourage. Air pressure, turbulence could distress the pregnancy. The baby would limit her visa status in foreign nations, a precautionary method for both herself and the unborn.
