Okay, hey guys I'm back. It took me like forever but I'm back and here to stay. I WILL FINISH THIS STORY; I SWEAR IT ON THE RIVER STYX! * Thunder *
Alrighty then, on with the story. Is anyone actually reading this? And by the way this story was written before the Blood of Olympus came out. Well this chapter wasn't. But whatever…
Leo's POV
Eva disappears out of the door in a streak of color, the girl may faint easy but she sure can run. As soon as she is out the door I hold my hand out in front of me again, hoping that this time something will happen and last time was just a fluke.
Nothing happens. My fire is actually gone.
For moment I feel like throwing something across the room, why can't I have a break?
Less than six months ago I saved the world, two weeks ago I stumbled across a way to get back to Calypso. Yesterday, I was on my way to hook it up. And today I am lying on a hospital bed, unable to even crawl.
Being a demigod really sucks sometimes.
I take that back, it really sucks all the time.
Fifteen minutes later
When is Eva getting back? She left, what feels like, two hours ago. I find that my fingers have started to move of their own accord and are playing with scraps from my tool belt. At least that still works. I debate turning over and burying my face in the pillow, but I decide that situation probably would not go in my favor.
Finally, just before I'm about to get up and look for her myself, Annabeth runs in the door.
"Leo! What the heck is going on? Eva told me that something was wrong, but refused to tell me what was wrong."
"We have a major problem Annie" cue death glare, "my fire seems to have gone out."
She gets a perplexed look on her face, "What do you mean?"
"I mean that I can't throw fire anymore, I'm probably not fire resistant, and no matter how excited or angry I get I will not burn down the Big House."
As I'm speaking, Annabeth's frown gets deeper and deeper.
"That shouldn't be possible. It isn't possible. Are you sur-"
"Annabeth, I know it's weird but it has happened. My fire is gone, and as much as I hate to say it, I want it back. And I need your brain to figure out how."
I then realize something. "Where's Eva?"
Still thinking deeply Annabeth answers, "The smell of this place makes her sick."
"Okay, so got any ideas yet?"
"I'm just wondering… this happened just after you got stabbed right?"
"Yeah…"
"So the stab obviously had something to do with it. I'm going to go inspect where it happened, you stay here" I snort, "and try to figure out if the weapon could have done this to you." Then she takes out my prototype demigod laptop, that I gave her of course, and tosses it to me before running out the door. I sigh; well at least I have something to do…
Callie's POV
As soon as I shake myself from my shock I take off after the creature. Fortunately, it isn't very stealthy and I follow the path of trampled bushes easily enough. The thing, I'm going to call him Steve, seems to be heading nowhere. As if he was just trying to get away from me, like he was scared.
Sure enough ten…ish minutes later I manage to catch up and the first thing Steve does is throw himself to the ground and lie in fetal position. It's disgusting.
I can't quite understand what he is saying, but it sounds like, "Please please please please donnnnn'tttt huuuuurrrrttttttt meeeeeeeee!"
I can feel my lip curl, " Get up."
Steve doesn't get up.
"Get up."
He is still lying on the ground.
My thin patience snaps, "GET UP!"
Steve jumps to his feet, but he is still trembling like a baby and staring at his shoes.
"Look at me."
He slowly raises his head and the terrible beauty of his blood red eyes nearly knocks me down.
"What are you?"
"Don't you mean whom?" he mumbles.
"I mean what I said, answer the question."
"I don't have a name like you, but Father calls me Mormo sometimes."
I like Steve better.
"I said what. You obviously aren't human with those eyes, so what are you?"
"I don't know what you mean." Mormo says confused.
"Have you ever looked in a mirror before? Your eyes are red."
"Well yes, I know. But I am human, more human than you demigod!"
Since he knows that I won't hurt him he doesn't seem as afraid. Pity, he was sooo much less annoying when he was terrified of me.
"Fine, are you a demigod or a legacy?"
"I am not either. From what father has told me I am the son of him and a empousa named Allison."
Needless to say, my jaw hit the floor, "Monsters can have kids?"
"Did you think they couldn't?"
"Well… duh!" My voice comes out strangled and coarse.
"You were very wrong then." Mormo laughs.
"That's it! Come with me Mormo, I'm taking you to Chiron." I go to grab his wrist, but he pulls away.
"No, you can't make me!" He says suddenly panicked, his eyes begin to spaz like a wild horse's. Too be honest, it scared me a little bit. I pull my sword and tell him to calm down.
Surprise, surprise, he doesn't listen.
And then in a flash of red, Mormo/ Steve, is gone.
Annabeth's POV
I knew it! I knew something was about to begin and now I'm in the middle of it, again.
Can't I have a break? I mean really, we got out of the war with Gaea relatively unscathed (a little too unscathed if you ask me) and I just want to relax for once.
And I thought I would be able to for a little while, with prophecy down and whatnot. But no.
No rest for Annabeth Chase.
Was I a little resentful? Maybe, but could you blame me?
Thought not.
I hope you like this chapter; it's way overdue. I won't bore you with the details of my absence, but let's just say that problem has been taken care of. And that's all for now! See you around demigods.
Peace Out,
