With every beat of her wings Camilla felt blood seep from her wounds. With every beat she came closer to the portal, she shot up over the ledge of the rooftop where she found Natasha spear in hand. She paused in mid air. the sun at her back her wings splayed out, her shadow cast over Natasha and Doctor Selvig. Natasha turned her eyes widening as she took in Camilla, who landed and let her wings fold behind her.
"Cameron—"
"Honestly when will you 'Avengers' get the name change correct?" Camilla's eyes flashed dangerously. Natasha felt a chill run up her spine recalling the last time she had gotten onto Cameron's bad side. Her arm flared in the remembered pain. But there was something else, this was a side of Cameron, Natasha was positive she would never have to see again, yet here it was watching her like a predator watched its prey.
"You sound tired." Natasha countered her hand tightening on the scepter.
"Hope you aren't wanting to fight me for this." She held up the spear, and watched as Camilla's gaze diverted for a second too long. Natasha moved then dropping the spear she grabbed the gun holstered at her hip and fired. But Camilla was smart her wing shielded her and as she defended, she countered leaping forward her other wing extended and whacked Natasha hard in the abdomen. Gun forced from her hand to clatter along the roof and over the ledge. Camilla smirked walking over to her downed mentor, she stepped on her shoulder Natasha gave a grunt of pain glaring up at her.
"Natasha I know you think that I'm as gullible as my other but you would be very wrong in that train of thought." Natasha glared and acted her own leg lashing up and colliding with Camilla's already very damaged back. Camilla cried out, falling back as Natasha gained some ground on her, she jumped back to her feet and began her new attack. Her punches were quick and precise but Camilla was ready for most a few slipped past but they were glancing blows that the power charged girl was able to shake off. Natasha growled and began attempting to figure out what she could do to get Camilla down...Without hurting her too much, her back seemed most vulnerable so that's where she started to focus her hits. Her theory proved true as she managed to trip Camilla and force her to the ground. Her body arched in pain, breath leaving her. Natasha was quick to act, a kick to her ribs sent Camilla writhing. Another stomp to her abdomen Camilla knew she had to get out of the way, even though her body was in unbearable agony she rolled. But little did she know she had fallen into Natasha's trap. In the few seconds her back became exposed Natasha leapt grabbing onto Camilla's wings. Camilla in a blind panic flapped her wings like a trapped bird but the force didn't remove Natasha who held on with a white knuckled grip. She
twisted the wings and to her silent horror she heard a crack. Camilla's mouth opened in almost slow motion, the scream which followed would haunt Natasha. "Ahhhhhhhhh!" The wings disappeared but Natasha saw it, the skin around the golden panel on her back had darkened with a bruise that only came from when a bone broke. In her pain filled rage Camilla bucked Natasha off and clawed herself on top of the assassin. Who looked up in pure terror at her old student, Camilla's hand held her throat in a painful death grip, which Natasha struggled against but to no avail. Camilla stood and with her strength lifted Natasha with her whose eyes had begun to redden as air and blood flow halted. She made short ragged gasping noises as she gripped uselessly at Camilla's hand. Camilla's gaze was the most terrifying part because her face was, Cameron's the girl who was faster with a sass filled remark then a cruel retort. Camilla walked slowly to the ledge holding the choking Natasha over the edge. Even though holding her up caused her injured back to scream in pain Camilla ignored it. Natasha looked between her and the ground so very far below.
"So Nat~" She spoke the nickname with a disgusted tone her green eyes taking in the dying assassin.
"Would you prefer I finish choking the life out of you?" For emphasis she squeezed harder, Natasha gagged softly as her brain screamed for her to act to do something. "Or should I drop you and let gravity do it's job?" She didn't get a chance to pick because a blast rang out, but rather than causing them to fall it made Camilla shriek in rage and throw Natasha at the source of the blast. It had been Selvig who had somehow gotten a hold of the scepter and had fired at them. Natasha slammed into the older man the scepter flying from his grasp. Natasha coughed wetly as she took a few grateful gulps of air. But it was almost short lived, as her gaze turned seeing the enraged siren stalking toward them her eyes seemed to burn brighter. But she stopped and Natasha watched in a mixture of relief and confusion as Camilla turned not once looking back at her or Selvig. She leapt from the ledge, Natasha scrambled forward fear filling her only to see Camilla land on the balcony below, and rush inside. Natasha sat dumbfounded for a few moments, she had come so close to dying...Yet now here she sat alive and with the one thing that could end this for good.
When she felt Loki's pull in her mind Camilla followed without a second thought. Her rage toward Natasha all but forgotten, the need to spill her blood and that of the scientist who had so callously tried to destroy her gone. All that filled her
mind was getting to Loki, she felt his pain. and her own was nothing compared to it. She found him amongst the rubble, his eyes staring at the ceiling, he doesn't acknowledge her till, she kneels by his side, her hand delicately reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair from his face. His hand lashes out grabbing her own and he watches her with his deep green eyes.
"She is still there, is she not?" Camilla blinks but lowers her gaze giving a pitiful nod. "I thought bringing you to the surface would bring her some form of comfort..." "She doesn't think so—"
"She certainly fought your control enough." He blinks slowly his hand still clutching her wrist.
"I felt her sorrow that's why I wished to bring her to my side, she understood my pain...my suffering." His grip tightened and she winced, but Camilla is silent watching and waiting.
"I guess we should see who is stronger...the Yin or the Yang." He mutters and turns to her.
"My Lord what—" He releases her hand and reaches up touching her forehead, her eyes roll back into her head and she falls back. Loki wearily sits himself up, and stares down at the girl. She looks like she could just be asleep, but he knows deep in her mind she will fight...fight for whichever side she believes to be the strongest.
