I looked around town. I'd only been there for a couple days before, and hadn't really gotten to see everything. I found the diner, and figured that was as good a place as any to find people. I entered, but the only people I could find were Granny and Red. I needed to find my father, and make him remember me. Then, I had to find a way to leave town so I could find Charlotte. I walked out, and I saw Snow White, Prince Charming, and Emma, who I had only briefly seen before the new curse. I wanted to say something, but was about to hold back until Emma spoke up.

"Who are you?"

I decided that if I told her my name, it could do no harm. "My name is Elizabeth."

"Why are you alone?", asked Snow.

"Because..."

"Where are your parents?"

Finally, I decided to spill the secret. But I wasn't just going to blurt it outright. "I don't know, you tell me."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you know my father, and I thought maybe you could tell me where he is."

"Who is your father?"

"Guess."

"I don't know - Hook?"

"Wow, first try. You really are smart, Emma."

"Wait, that was right?"

"Yes."

"And your mother is..."

"Milah."

"Milah?"

"Yes. Did my father not tell you who she was?"

"Um, just that he dated her... and then Rumpelstiltskin killed her."

"Yes, he did."

"Why did he do that?"

"Because she left him for a pirate she met in a bar."

"Left him... wait, so they were..."

"Married."

"Married? Does that mean she's..."

"Baelfire's mother. And Henry's grandmother."

"That does explain a lot..."

"Yeah... why didn't they tell you?"

"They?"

"Rumpelstiltskin, my father, my brother..."

"Well, I guess they didn't feel like it..." said Emma. "I'm going inside..."

After she shut the door behind her, Snow White said, "You look familiar."

"Yes, we've met."

"When? I don't remember that."

"No, you can thank Zelena for that."

"Wait, it was... during the missing year?"

"Yes. Even before she cursed you, she made you forget the two weeks we knew each other for."

"Why?"

"She said I was too big a threat for her."

"You? A teenage girl?"

"Yes. Me. I have magic. Powerful magic."

"So does she."

"What... what has she done so far?"

"She captured Rumpelstiltskin, she killed Neal..."

"Baelfire?"

"Yeah..."

Under normal circumstances, I would have been upset by that news, but with what I was planning to do, it didn't matter. At that moment, Emma decided to come back out.

"So, they're not in there, don't know where they are."

"Who?"

"Your father. And Henry. I can tell him you're here when I see him..."

"Wouldn't matter. He doesn't remember I exist."

"What?"

"Long story. And one I don't have time for. I gotta go", I said, walking away.

"Wait... where are you going?"

"To speak to the Dark One."

...

I found that magic was actually easier to use in Storybrooke, and I cast a spell to track Rumpelstiltskin. It led me to a farmhouse on the edge of town, and down into a storm cellar. I started to go down the stairs.

"What do you want now?", he asked, in an angry tone.

"I'm not Zelena", I replied, coming into view.

He looked me over, apparently trying to place why I looked familiar to him. Then he realized.

"You look just like Milah."

"Yes, I know."

"Why?"

"Figure it out."

He was one of the smartest people in town, and naturally it didn't take long for him to figure it out.

"She's your mother."

"Yes."

"And what might your name be, child?"

"Elizabeth."

"Well. Who is your father, Elizabeth?"

"Who do you think?"

"Hook."

"Yes. Although he doesn't remember who I am, thanks to you."

"Thanks to me?"

"When he found out he was dueling you, he sent me away. To the land without magic. And then he drank a potion to forget about me, so you could never find out about me and harm me."

"And how are you still alive?"

"How do you think?"

"You... you were in Neverland."

"Yes. In fact, I tried to tell Henry the truth about Pan long before you even found him."

"Why?"

"Well, he is my nephew."

"Your... yes, I suppose he is. Why are you here, Elizabeth?"

"Because I plan to do something that will align our interests."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes."

"And what is that?"

"I'm working on a spell that will allow me to break the laws of magic."

"Are you now?"

"I am."

"And where would you come across such a spell?"

"In the book of Analain."

"The book of Analain?"

"Yes. Have you never heard of it?"

"No, of course I've heard of it, but... you found it?"

"Indeed I did."

"Where?"

"In Analain."

"You found the kingdom of Analain."

"Yes."

"How?"

"I asked the Oracle of Seaia."

"She always has a price."

"Yes, much like you."

"What price did she make you pay?"

"She asked that I not reveal the location of Analain to anyone. But why does it matter? All that matters is that if the spell succeeds, I will be able to break the laws of magic."

"And yet, it would require powerful magic. And all magic comes with a price."

"So... you don't want me to cast this spell?"

"I do. But I wouldn't want you to do it without considering the price."

"I've considered it. But it won't matter unless I succeed. And for that, I need your help."

"For what?"

"I need to cross the town line."

"I can't help you with that."

"I just need you to distract Zelena long enough for me to get across, to get the final ingredient for the spell."

"How do you expect me to do that? She has the dagger."

"Find a way. Also, do you know where I could find Belle?"

"Belle? What do you want with her?"

"She and I met, during the time none of them remember."

"Really?"

"Yes. But even before Zelena cursed them, she wiped all their memories of me, because she said I was too big a threat to her."

"She thinks you are too big a threat to her?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because my magic is more powerful than hers."

"And why is that?"

"Because I'm the product of true love."

And with that, I walked away, hoping that he would do what I requested so I could get across the town line.
