I was lost. I had exited Storybrooke and walked for a few hours, and now I was utterly lost. I thought I was still in Maine, but I couldn't be sure. I couldn't even use a tracking spell to find Charlotte, because there was no magic here. The thought should have occurred to me earlier, but I was preoccupied. I had found the last item for the spell - a ticket stub for a movie theater - and was now trying, and failing, to find the way back to Storybrooke. I had no idea how, and I realized that if I couldn't get back soon Zelena would probably succeed. I was her biggest threat. Emma was too, but she didn't have full control over magic yet. I needed to help them defeat Zelena, but I couldn't do that if I was stuck out in the world. The things in this world were very confusing. I couldn't figure out how to work a telephone, and driving a car seemed harder than just traveling via magic. How had this world ever survived without magic? I really would like to know. I also needed to find Charlotte, and I had no idea where she might be. The only thing that had occurred to me was to look in the place where we first met, New York City. But I had no idea how to get there. Perhaps I could find a train station, or ask someone for directions? Just as I was about to give up, I saw a small cluster of buildings that looked very out of place. I wandered around, trying to find someone who could tell me where to go. Eventually, I saw a woman running to one of the buildings. I ran over to her.

"Excuse me, mam?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"Can you tell me how to get to New York City?"

She gave me a strange look. "Uh... you could try hitchhiking."

"What's that?"

"Really? How old are you?"

"14."

"Wow. Hitchhiking is when you stand at the side of the road and try to get someone to give you a ride."

"Is that legal?"

"Sort of."

"Huh?"

"Look, that's all I can tell you. Now, I gotta go. Bye." She left, shaking her head as she went. I walked out to the road and stuck my arm out instinctively. After about 10 minutes, someone slowed down. A man stuck his head out of the car. "Need a ride?", he asked.

"Uh, yeah."

"Where to?"

"New York City"

"Ok, hop in."

"Thanks."

"What's your name, kid?"

"Elizabeth. What's yours?"

"Walsh."

"Cool. So, are you really going to New York, or did you go out of your way just for me?"

"Well, it's not too far out of my drive."

"Oh. Ok. Thanks."

We sat in silence for a few hours, after which he dropped me off in Manhattan. Now I just had to find Charlotte, assuming she was actually here. The city was very different than I remembered it, full of cars and tall buildings. I was utterly lost. I just hoped I could find the exact spot where we met. I really wished I had my magic. Before I could try to see if it worked, someone called my name.

"Elizabeth?!"

I whipped around. "Charlotte!"

"How did you find me? There's no magic here!"

"I just... went to where we met. How did you find me?"

"Well, when I went through the portal, I told it to take me to the exact spot where we met. It took me to here. I've been waiting for you to show up, but... I'd almost lost hope."

"Well, no need to do that, Charlotte. Now I just need to find Storybrooke again."

"How?"

"No idea."

"Don't you have magic?"

"Yes, but I don't think it will work here."

"Just try it. I know you can do it."

I focused as hard as I could, on the source of my magic - true love. It took a while, but I felt a small surge of magical energy. Unfortunately, it quickly died down.

"I lost it."

"Try harder, Elizabeth. I believe in you."

I focused harder, and another surge came. Quickly, I used it to transport myself and Charlotte to Storybrooke. Using such magic in a Land Without Magic shouldn't be possible. That magic had come from me. I hadn't known I could create something so powerful. But it didn't matter. We were in Storybrooke now. And I had a witch to defeat.
