Hi guys! I know, it's been really long time since I updated, again.. And I'm sorry, I really am! So.. How are you? Has your year stared nicely?
I had really hard time writing this chapter, so prepare yourself – it's not as long as usually, I really didn't know what to write. So I hope so badly you'll be alright with it.
Disclaimer: I still don't own the Mortal Instruments, it all belongs to Cassandra Clare.
Chapter 14
I got out of the hospital after a full week in, Vivia was doing fine and they didn't see any reason to keep us there. Jace had been in a full overprotective-daddy-mode and it was sweet and everything but if you ask me it was starting to get very annoying. The older girls on the other hand were very helpful with the baby and were doing excellent job at being big sisters to her.
Vivia was a total daddy's girl, she had him wrapped tightly around her little fingers. Magnus and Alec were regular visitors in our house already, especially after Vivia got her name officially a few months ago. We had decided she's be Vivia Madeline Herondale. Isabelle and Magnus planned the christening and I have to admit – I couldn't have done anything better than the two of them.
My mother, Luke and Max had came to see our newest family member a few weeks after we had got out of the hospital. I had missed them very much and wanted to know what had happened in New York since I last saw them, so we went to my favourite restaurant, Taki's, for late breakfast and I left Vivia with Jace for a few hours. What could've happened during those few hours – nothing, right? Well I was very wrong. Vivia was sleeping when we left, so I assumed they'd be just fine. An hour later Jace called me in panic – he was fine with Vivi and everything but it was the older girls that caused him early grey hair.
The triplets were nowadays very much my girls, they came to me if something was on their minds or if they wanted to ask something. So it was only understandable that they'd use the opportunity of making Jace crazy. I knew they were very cabable of doing so, but usually I was there to cool them off. But that day they knew Jace would focus mostly on the baby.
In the end, after I managed to suppress my laughter we had finished our meals and went home. Jace was mad at me for laughing at him instead of helping somehow. I knew he'd be just fine a little longer and had enjoyed the company of my mother, stepfather and little brother. Max had grown a lot since the last time I saw him – school was apparently going well, as well was the football. He told me about his friends I knew and some girls, Jasmine, that he had a crush on. It was absolutely adorable seeing him sutter about her, my parents smiling widely. Max told me he still liked the manga book, and his favourite class in school still was biology. I was so relieved to notice that not everything had changed during last year. He was still my little brother, with the dorky glasses and Luke's brown curly hair that fell onto his forehead.
My mother was still working at same the studio, selling her paintings. And Luke still had the same old bookstore I had grew up in. Now instead of me, he had Max there to help him.
I promised we would visit them later that year, after Vivi would be old enough to travel for so long, but nothing was stopping them to come over more often. Although I knew it was easier said than done, since they all had responsibilities – mom and Luke had their jobs and Max was still stuck in school.
It had been really nice to meet all the relatives, to actually have time to catch up with them.
Vivia was now already six months old and was the sweetest child I've ever seen. She was very outgoing, wasn't shy at all and my favourite part – slept actually like a baby. Her blonde curly hair had grown very much, though it was already really long when she was born. Isabelle loved to do cute hairstyles on her hair and dress her with Magnus.
"Clary!" I heard Valerie yelling "Come on! Let's go swimming!" I got up and brushed the sand off and looked to my right. There was Jace and Vivia both sleeping under the beach umbrella. I smiled at the sight, took my phone from the beach bag and took a picture of them. Jace was lying on his side, face to me, and Vivi was placed under her daddy's strong arm. They were always so cute when they were sleeping.
"Coming!" I yelled and ran to the warm water. We had decided to go to the beach nearby and celebrate the girls' school years finishing. They were all very good at school and we were really proud of them. There was some kind of parents-and-teacher-meeting at the school a few weeks before the year ended and Jace had dragged me, and Vivia of course, to the meeting with him and the girls' teacher, Miss Penhallow, apparently thinks that I'm the girls' biological mother. I don't know how, but she does. She had gushed around Vivia, who of course had enjoyed the extra attention. Long story short – it was a really awkward meeting, since Jace and I exactly hadn't corrected her at any point, we just let her assume we were a biological family.
I played with the girls on the water for a long time, every now and then checking if Jace and Vivia still were sleeping. One time I glanced towards the two of them, I saw Jace bent over the sea, his ankles in the water and Vivia's toes were touching the warm water. Jace looked up at us and smiled. My heart melted at the sight – laughing Vivia with her a little too big sun hat on her head and baby pink ruffle swimsuit that Aunt-Izzy had bought her, and Jace bending over the water, his youngest daughter in his arms, toes touching the water, laughing as well at Vivi's laughter.
I walked over to them and reached for Vivi, so Jace could go swimming with the older girls. Jace gave her to me, kissed me sweetly on the lips and storked my cheek with his thumb before diving into the water and grabbing Jen's ankle under the water. Jennifer screamed and looked terrified before her father's face came up laughing. She tried to be mad at him but eventually cracked up and laughed along the others.
I took Vivia back to our blanket and sat down, reaching for the cooler and took her milk bottle. I usually breast-feeded her but since we were at the beach and although Jace or any of the girls didn't have any kind of promblem with me showing a little of my breast, there could be someone that would be offended by it. As if there was no breasts in adds or in movies.
I watched as my daughter greedily drank almost the whole bottle of milk and smiled at her. She really did have Jace's features – the cheeks, lips, and nose were all from Jace. Th only thing she got from me was her eyes, our eyes. She had the same emerald green big round eyes, surrounded by long blonde lashes. In one word she was stunning. The most beautiful child I've ever seen, despite the fact that she's mine.
As I watched her play with my bottle filled with water, I saw a man with dark hair walking towards us. I looked quickly around to see if there was someone else he would know – we were alone at that part of the beach. Instinctively I scooted little closer to Vivia, who didn't seem to notice and continued sucking the bottle. As the dark man got closer I recognized him.
"WILL? Is that really you? Oh my god it's been so long!" I said loudly, getting up and jumping into his open arms.
"Hey Clare! Yeah, it has been a while." He laughed as he spun me around before setting me back down. He looked behind me and saw Vivia and looked at me with one eye brow lifted.
"If she didn't have the same eyes than you, I'd think she's someone else's but I can't deny the evidence I have right in front of my eyes – she's your daughter, isn't she? Man, has is been only a little over one year that we saw last time?" He laughed.
"Yeah, that's Vivia." I scratched my neck, not knowing how to say it. "She's actually mine and ummm.. Jace's. It just happened after we had moved here." I explained, biting my lip as I watched Will. He just bursted out laughing and kneeled down and took Vivi's small hand and shook it gently.
"Hi Vivia, my name's Will and I'm your mommy's friend from New York." He greeted her. Vivia smiled widely at him, enjoying once again the extra attention she got.
"So, where's that Jace guy? I haven't met him, have I?" Will asked as I sat back down on the blanket.
"He's playing with his older daughters over there." I said and pointed at Jace, who was looking at us quite sour expression on his face. Oh, right. I'm talking with another man. I rolled my eyes as I waved at him. He waved back but turned quickly around. A few soconds later he was walking towards us and not so slowly.
"He doesn't seem that happy with me sitting here." Will chuckled. Only Will wouldn't find it awkward – I did!
"Yeah, he can be quite jealous from time to time." I said rolling my eyes again as we watched him coming closer. Suddenly he stopped on his tracks and stared at Will eyes wide open.
"No, it can't be! Are you kidding me!" I heard Will whisper next to me. I looked at him confused. He got up and walked to Jace, I didn't hear what they were saying so I grabbed Vivi into my arms and walked to them, Vivia on my hip, as they hugged each other tightly.
"What is going on here? You guys know each other?" I asked as I reached them. Jace looked at me and took a step closer to me and put his arm to my waist.
"You could say that. You remember when I told you about the cousins I lived with before the Lightwoods adopted me? Well, Will's the cousin, actually one of them. Cecily and Ella were the other two." Jace said, and tightened his grib on me.
"You're Jonathan? The Jonathan?" I asked, remembering Will mentioning the name once or twice.
"That's my real first name, yes." He laughed. Of course I knew it, but I never really hadn't thought about it.
We walked back to our blanket and Jace and Will catched up with each other. Will had stared dating Tessa, the girl from the café Will and I went once back in NY. Tessa and Jem, the guy she had dated then, had broken up soon after we had moved. They were living now in Miami as well, on the other side of the city than us, but here as well. Tessa had her own café opened and Will was working for some kind of magazine. Will asked about the rings on our fingers, asked about the wedding.
"No, we're not married yet. The wedding's next summer, you and Tessa are of course invited now that we know you're living here!"
We talked with Will for a while before he had to go, but promised to come over some day.
"I can't believe this is the Jace you were talking about the whole time." He laughed before hugging both of us and stoking Vivia's cheeks and walked off.
Jace pulled me closer, to sit between his legs as we watched Vivia playing with her toys on the blanket and the older girls playing with the sand near us. He wrapped his arms around me and moved my hair from the other shoulder before planting a big wet kissed on my neck and shoulder. I had to suppress my ever so quiet moans and breaths.
"Jace..." I breathed and tilted my head to the left to give him more skin to kiss. "Please, not here. You... You can't d-do that here."
"And why's that?" He whispered, I felt his hot breath on my neck.
"People's watching." I tried.
"Let them watch. There's nothing wrong with a husband kissing his wife." He whispered into my ear.
"I'm.. I'm not your w-wife, not yet." I said and felt him laughing against my skin. "Please, Jace, stop teasing me. You know we can't do it here, so please. You can't do that here."
"Oh but I can. This is my revenge." Oh shit, of course he remembers the time at the fancy restaurant when we ate with his boss and some important clients. Vivia was only a month old and was sleeping in the baby's car seat next to me on the floor. I had been touching Jace's upper thigh the whole night and he did his best not to show his arousal. I on the other hand had been very proud of myself. His excitement was very clear to me, as I touched his hard manhood with my hand every now and then under the table. I could hear him chocking on his words at some points and felt his and on mine, he was gribbing my hand tightly in his in hope of me stopping. Not a chance. Fortunately the booth was really small and forced me and Jace sit very close to each other.
I had been wearing a dark purple satin dress, so it had been almost too easy for me to lift the hem up a bit under the white table clothing and slowly move Jace's other hand between my legs. I heard him take a sharp breath in as his fingers reached their goal, as I parted my legs a little and let him feel the moist. I quickly pulled his hand away and I saw him clenching his fists.
As I could predict, I had payed the price that evening at home.
"No, please, you can have me anyway you want as soon as the girls are sleeping. But please. Not here." I begged him. He clearly thought about it and eventually sighed and said:
"Alright, but prepare yourself – I'm not going to be gently." He murmured into my ear and gently turned my head a bit so he could kiss me on my lips. I kissed him back and leaned against his chest, his arms tightly around me as we watched our children playing.
So, there was that... I know nothing much happened but I really hope you still liked it. I think there'll be only two chapters left. Two or three.
But please tell me what you think!
Until next time,
