"You met Caroline..?" Rebekah asked her eyes widen in surprise
"That's how you know about the kids..?" Elijah asked at the same time
Klaus nod his head at them answering both of the questions
"Tell us everything" Rebekah ordered, Klaus took a deep breath as he went near the end of the hall where they keep their drinks
"Well if I have to explain you guys what had happened, then we need something stronger for us to drink as I start my story" Klaus replied holding the drinks bottle in his hand
"Okay" Rebekah said making Klaus look at her. They all were setting in the hall as Klaus completed his story. Elijah stayed quite, thinking about everything Klaus said
"Okay..?" Klaus raised his eyebrow... "After listening to everything all you can say is okay..?" Klaus said making Rebekah scoff
"What do you want me to say..?" Rebekah said looking at Klaus "Ofcourse Caroline was going to react the way she did.. Do you really thought after everything she went through she was just going to hug you and take you back..?" Rebekah said rolling his eyes
"And after yesterday events, I don't think Caroline is ever going to hug you or take you back" Elijah said looking at Klaus, Rebekah nodded
"I know" Klaus snapped "I feel bad about it already, don't rub it more" Klaus snarled. Elijah shake his head at Klaus as he stood making his way towards
"If I ask you something, can I expect truth from you Niklaus..?" Elijah said making Klaus nod his head
"Depends on the question brother.." Klaus stated
"What do you feel about Rumi and Nick..?" Elijah asked making Rebekah look at him , Klaus narrow his eyes little at the question, Rebekah looked at Elijah and then looked at Klaus watching how confuse he looked but then she saw his eyes getting soften at the kids name
"I don't know" Klaus whispered "I mean after Henrick I was never attached to anyone to be honest apart from you guys" He added making Elijah and Rebekah held their breath at the mention of Henrick
"Every time when I used to see any child, all i could see was Henrick face smiling, crying, laughing, playing, It is still hard for me to connect with any child, it's difficult" He whispered, Rebekah tried to spoke but Elijah held his hand making her stop, he didn't wanted to interrupt Klaus because they knew Klaus was never the one to express his feeling and now that he is expressing Elijah didn't wanted to stop him
"I didn't knew Rumi and Nick were my children, When I saw them I thought Rebekah babysits them, because from where I remember Bekah loved babysitting" Klaus explained looking at Bekah as she gave him a small smile as a nod
"I was not comfortable with them being around here" he explained "But I didn't complain because I knew you guys weren't happy with me being around here, especially you Bekah" Klaus said "So I stayed quiet, least I could do was keep you happy especially after everything i have done"
Elijah nodded giving Klaus a small smile
"They were rather fond of you." Elijah stated making Klaus scoff
"Fond won't be the proper words Elijah" Klaus stated "They have Lets-be-friends kind of force attitude towards me" Klaus said rolling his eyes
"I mean I tried to snap at them, like i do with you guys but they still keep talking to me" Klaus said "But I can't say the same about the boy, I don't think he likes me" Klaus said making his sibling narrow his eyes
"Why do you think like that..?" Rebekah asked
"Well he doesn't like when Rumi is talking to me, Every time he see us together he has that Stay-away-from-my-sister kind of face" Klaus explained making Elijah letting out a chuckle
"Nick was grown up protecting his sister Klaus even if he was at the same age as her" Elijah said "Nick always look out for her when Caroline isn't around, and you wouldn't have noticed but Rumi is also very protective when it comes to Nick " Elijah said
"Yea. They may fight as hell, pull each other hairs, paint each other faces when one of them is sleeping, but at the end they always find their way back to each other by painting someone else face together" Rebekah chuckled making Elijah and Klaus smile
"Caroline did an excellent job with the kids" Klaus whispered making Elijah and Rebekah look at him "I mean they are friendly, well mannered" Klaus explained making the sibling smile
"yea she did" Rebekah replied "Nick and Rumi were grown up in the hands of great women Nik, Caroline always made sure that they knew how to behave, and what to expect and what not to expect, she gave them everything they asked for, but she also didn't let her children gets spoiled you know" Rebekah stated, Klaus nod his head
"Yes Niklaus, Caroline indeed did a great job with the kids, in fact they also very good at the studies, Like I have said before they are my students you know, I tutor them" Elijah explained "They both are very good at the studies, Rumi can be a bit handful, because she has a bubbly nature, she likes to talk a lot you know which always end up with her fighting with Nick, because he is very focus when he does something and Rumi talkative nature irritates him a lot " Elijah explained
"Yea I have seen how talkative she is " Klaus explained, Klaus knew how talkative Rumi was, he had already experienced it, the way she talk about stars, about her mother, about her brother, he also remember once he had mention to Rumi and Nick about their father, and he also very well remember how they talked about their father like they hated him
"Do they know about me..?" Klaus asked making the sibling look at him in confusion
"of course they know you Nik" Rebekah said narrowing her eyes at him
"No, I mean do they know that I'm their father.?" HE asked
"No. I don't think they knows Niklaus" Elijah stated "I mean Caroline never mentioned about you, or rather we never talked about you in front of the kids" Elijah explained, Klaus nodded in hurt, it was quite sad to see that no one ever mention him to the kids but it wasn't something he should blame them about especially when he deserved it
"Why did you asked..?" Rebekah asked curiously "did they say something to you..?" she added
"Yea, once or twice I might have mention their father" Klaus said making Elijah raised his eyebrow "And their response wasn't so appealing" he added making Rebekah scoff
"What do you expect..?" Rebekah asked raising her eyebrow "I mean they never knew what the role of a father is Nik, they are grown up with the help of their mother, uncle and aunty, they never knew what a father does, how to be honest what a father is..." Rebekah stated, Elijah chuckled making Klaus and Rebekah look at him
"I once remember Rumi asking me what father is" Elijah said " she asked me whether the father from the churches are the same father the kids have" Elijah added making Rebekah giggle "It was very difficult for me to make her understand that the church father are different, and when i thought she would understand she asked me next was that, "then why do the church father are called father when they are not father" Elijah said rubbing his temple with a finger , Rebekah chuckled at Elijah expression, seeing Elijah so distress she could have guess that it wasn't very easy to make Rumi understand, her thoughts were distracted when she heard Klaus chuckled, she turned her attention towards him, watching how different he looked with a small smile that she saw after so long, she knew that Klaus was happy to hear how his kids are and what they did, and by listening to the things his kids did throughout the years was making him a bit happy and relax, she wanted him to be happy now, wanted him to find his happiness, and do things that won't make him regret later on, she wanted him to realize on his own that what a great mistake he did by leaving Caroline all alone throughout the years
"She is quite a little thing" Klaus said interrupting Rebekah thoughts making Elijah smile
"She is" They both answered
"She is like Caroline" Klaus whispered earning a smile from his siblings "the way she talks, babble, she has this light that makes it difficult to ignore or hate her" Klaus added
"Don't forget stubborn" Rebekah added
"Confident" Elijah added too making Rebekah nod with a smile
"Forgiveness, she forgive people to easily, I mean she doesn't have hatred towards anyone" Klaus said " when I mentioned about their father, Rumi response was a normal, like she doesn't know him and all type, but when Nick response was rather different than hers, he was quite angry when his father topic was immerged, he snapped at me saying that he doesn't have a father" Klaus explained
"He snapped at you..?" Rebekah raised her eyebrow in surprise, she looked at Elijah who was also having the same expression as hers, and it was kind of difficult for her to believe Klaus when he said Nick snapped because she never saw him talking to anyone with disrespect
"Yea he did" Klaus stated but then his lips turned making him smirked "but as soon as he snapped, he apologized for snapping, manners " Klaus said rolling his eyes but never letting the smirk fall of his face
"Thank god, I thought I was going to have a heart attack" Elijah said keeping his one hand on his heart, Rebekah rolled her eyes at him, "I mean I did thought him manners you know, I thought for seconds that he might end up like you guys, spoiled" He added smirking as he taunt them, making Klaus and Rebekah growled in irritation
"Live a little Elijah, we all can't be so serious all the time" Klaus teased, he looked at Rebekah "I see some things never change" HE stated making Rebekah chuckled
"They do, but when it comes to Elijah they don't "Rebekah smirked winking at Klaus, making Elijah roll his eyes at them
"I hope you didn't teach my child to be all serious like you big brother, I would be hard for me to handle two Elijah" Klaus chuckled, his eyes widen when he realized what he said, he mention Nick as his child, he could see his sibling staring at him with surprised, but instead of questioning him they just ignored what he said for which Klaus appreciated them
"Ohh he did, I mean at least he tried" Rebekah stated making Klaus raised his eyebrow at her in questioning
"Elijah tried to make Nick wore suits for certain dinner occasion" "Rebekah stated making Klaus looked shock
"I wanted him to look more decent" Elijah tried to explained but was interrupted by Rebekah
"He was 3years old Elijah" Rebekah said, she looked at Klaus explaining to him "Elijah made him a suit for a thanksgiving, and trust me as much as you hate hearing that he made Nick wear it, you will be more happy to hear that Nick hated it " Rebekah chuckled making Klaus smirked at Elijah
"He liked it" Elijah stated sounding a bit offensive
"No he didn't " Rebekah replied "He kept trying to remove his suit, at the end of the dinner Nick had his shirts unbutton, shirt wasn't in properly " Rebekah giggle remember how funny he looked at the end of the night "at the end he told Elijah "I don't want to be suit-boy, uncle suit"" Rebekah said mocking Nick childish pouting voice making Klaus chuckled and Elijah smiled a little at the memory.
"Ohh do you remember that day when Rumi made Kol wear her Barbie cap" Rebekah said making Elijah nod his head at her in laughter
"How could I forget..?" Elijah said "I never saw Kol looking so pretty" Elijah laughed making Rebekah laugh and Klaus smile at them, his sibling turned to him to explain the situation with Kol
"The thing happened was, Kol really love the kids a lot and he does everything in his power to make them happy" Rebekah stated
"Not to forget spoiled too" Elijah stated making Rebekah roll he eyes at him
"Yea whatever" Rebekah said ignoring Elijah comment as she looked at Klaus smiling "There was this time when we weren't home, and Rumi and Kol were the only one in the house and Rumi was bored and she started crying, so to make her happy Kol decided to be her personal Barbie doll" Rebekah explained making Klaus mouth drop in shock
"Are you-" Klaus was about to say but Elijah interrupted
"Yes she is pretty much serious" Elijah said smiling at Klaus expression "and when she said he was her personal Barbie it also meant that he sang Barbie song for her" Elijah added grinning more when he saw the look on Klaus face
"With Barbie voice" Rebekah added smirking
"Oh my god" Klaus laughed out loud "I wish i could have been there to click the picture" Klaus stated sounding sad
"Do you really think that I would let him live a day without taunting him..?" Rebekah raised her eyebrow "Of course I couldn't have missed the chance, I have picture of him" Rebekah said grinning evilly making Klaus smirk deep
"Show me" Klaus said making Elijah shake his head at their immaturity..
"Oh my god , I really can't believe Kol would do something like this" Klaus said as he let out laugh
"Like i said before, he really loves the kids alot" Rebekah stated smiling sweetly at Klaus , she looked at Elijah and shared a smile with him, Klaus looked at his siblings, he could see in this past four years they were quite fond of eachother , they had many memories to share with the kids, four years, so many memories , he could have been a part of this, a part of their life, part of this family, but he let his selfishness took over, Klaus shake his head a little to try to distract himself from the thoughts
"Trust me they are devils, and Katherine being with them doesn't help much" Rebekah stated making Klaus look at her , Klaus was about to say something but the way Elijah suddenly when silent made Klaus stop, he looked at his brother, and saw how Katherine name made the smile he had a moment ago vanished , Klaus wanted to know what happened with them,, what made them broke their engagement off, how Klaus knew before he left was that Katherine and Elijah loved each other, and maybe because of their Display with their love made Klaus somehow jealous, made him insecure and made him wonder that whether he was ever going to find the person who would love him exact the same way Katherine did to Elijah, he don't understand that what could have happened in this past years that now Elijah and Katherine won't even look at each other or for that matters Katherine couldn't stand Elijah anymore
"Elijah" Klaus said making Elijah turn his attention towards him "What happened between you and Katherine..?" Klaus asked making Rebekah and Elijah looked at him with sadness, Klaus could see that Rebekah looking at Elijah tears starting to form in her eyes
"There are a lot of things that happened Niklaus in this past years" Elijah said as he slowly stood as he rubbed his temple with a finger, he looked at Rebekah giving her a sad yet soften look and then turning to look at Klaus "Let's just say that you weren't the only one who hurt the girl you love because of your own selfishness and priorities" Elijah stated as he went directly to his room without saying another word or with stopping to listen to his sibling response.
Klaus stood their frozen at his brother response he didn't knew what to think anymore, or what to say, he looked at Rebekah who was watching the way Elijah went ,
"Rebekah " Klaus started saying but she interrupted him
"No Nik" She stated exactly knowing what he was about to ask "I can't tell you what happened, it's not my story to tell" Rebekah said
"and to be honest there nothing for me to say about it, because I don't know what happened exactly, especially not in detail, I don't think anyone else knows either" Rebekah said making Klaus look at her curiously "Elijah and Katherine doesn't talk about it, we tried to ask them but they always skip the question"
"What do you mean do you don't know" Klaus snapped "You should have asked him, what the hell were you doing for this past years, you should have helped him" Klaus yelled making her snarl
"You don't think I did, I tried okay, but he never said anything" Rebekah snarled she stood "And before making me feel guilty , you should have been here then taking care of us like you used too, and none of this would have happened " She snapped in anger as she stormed to her room
"Well the hate and love relationship is back again" Klaus murmured looking at the way Rebekah went.
He stood there outside her door waiting for her to open up. He knew this was the only place where he will find peace
"Kol" she answered opening the door with surprise
"Bonnie" He replied closing the distance between them and hugging her tight, He could feel Bonnie still in his arms but soon she let herself relax in his arms enveloping him in her arms
"What happened..?" She asked softly as she backed away to look at him, he shook his head scoffing
"Nik happened" He replied making Bonnie raise her eyebrow, she held his hand and took him inside the house , both of them sat comfortably on the sofa
"What he did now..?" She asked letting her finger brush Kol hair softly, She knew how much Klaus behaviour had affect Kol , she still remember the day when he came at her house ,soaked in rain , crying his eyes out for Rebekah and Klaus, Bonnie knew she was the only person who has seen him crying like this after Klaus left because he didn't wanted his family to see him like this, especially when Rebekah was going through a lot
Kol started to relaxed a bit when he started feeling Bonnie finger on his hairs, massaging his scalp, Kol looked at her watching her looking at him with soften smile and love, He took a deep breath before he started explaining all the events that took place at his house
After Kol finished his story he looked at Bonnie who was looking at him with shock and surprise,
"I don't know what to say" She whispered "I'm happy you know, to see your family getting back together, trust me I'm" She replied giving Kol a small smile "but on the other end, I don't know why Klaus is here.. Why now, I mean after everything you said, it's feels like Klaus used to love Caroline too, but he let his selfishness get ahead of him" Bonnie stated making Kol nod his head in agreement "But now after everything that has happened I don't think Caroline or me or to be honest any of us would forgive him that easily" She added
"I can understand" Kol replied nodding his head, he knew Stefan, Katherine and Bonnie won't be able to forgive Klaus after everything, and he didn't blame them
"I don't know how Caroline is going to react when she sees Klaus" Bonnie said letting her head fall on Kol shoulder, she felt Kol wrapping his arms around her, rubbing her arms in comforting nature "She would lost it again Kol, it will break her heart once again" Bonnie started sobbing "I can't watch her suffer the way she did once yet again, I can't" Bonnie sobbed, Kol tightened his arms around her
"It won't happen again, this time we won't let Klaus break her" Kol promised her kissing forehead as assuring gesture
Caroline looked at her friends, when she came home right after grill , she saw Katherine and Stefan waiting for her in living room, she made sure that Rumi and Nick went to sleep before she started yelling at them both for hiding the fact that Klaus was here, she gave Katherine and Stefan time to explain themselves because no matter how angry she was with them, they both were still her family, and she knew their might be a real reason why she thought the Klaus returning was best to hide from her, They explained how it was just few days back Klaus returned, Katherine explained everything about Rumi and Klaus behaviour towards each other, and also stated Nick hatred towards him which left Caroline confuse, they explained how Rumi was fond of Klaus and even Klaus was a little fond of her too which was beyond surprising for everyone.
When they finished their story they asked Caroline about her conversation with Klaus, Caroline explained everything, telling them how Klaus yelled at her, how she cried losing herself once again which Katherine and Stefan huff in frustrated , but that didn't frustrate them, what made them mad was the fact that Caroline telling Klaus that he can talk to the kids if he wants
"ARE YOU FREAKING OUT OF YOUR MIND..?"
"ARE YOU CRAZY..?"
Both Stefan and Katherine yelled at her at the same time, when Caroline was about to say they both interrupted her
"Are you crazy..?"
"Are you drunk..?"
"Did you forget to bring your brain with you, when you return.?"
"Did you fall on your head or something"
"Stefan, can you actually hear her saying this thing that Klaus is allowed to talk to her kids" Katherine asked Stefan who just replied by pointing his finger in his ears
"I think there is something wrong with my ears" Stefan said
Katherine looked under the table, then ran near the couch looking under it, then again she ran near the windows moving away the curtains, Stefan and Caroline looked at her confuse
"What are you doing..?" They asked , making Katherine stop moving curtains and turning to look at them
"Ohh, I'm trying to find Caroline brain, maybe she drop it here somewhere" Katherine stated making Stefan choked in laughter, his laughter died when he saw Caroline shooting him a glare, Caroline huffed in frustration
"Stop this guys, stop acting like immature kids please" Caroline said, making Katherine scoff
"We are not acting immature" Katherine and Stefan said making Caroline looked at them with raised eyebrow
"Okay, maybe we are acting immature, but it's because you're acting stupid" Katherine reasoned
"I'm not acting Stupid" Caroline hissed pointing her finger at Katherine, Stefan step between them giving both of them a glare saying don't-start
"What Katherine wants to say is, how you can say you're allowing Klaus to talk to the kids" Stefan looked at her in confusion "I mean did you forget the fact what Klaus did?" HE asked
She rolled her eyes crossing her arms around her chest "I would have explained it to you guys, if you would have LET ME EXPLAIN" Caroline hissed at them stomping her foot in frustrated, Katherine rolled her eyes, as she sat on the couch
"Stop stomping your foot, be mature Caroline" Katherine scoff, Caroline narrow her eyes at her in shock
"You're telling me to be mature..?" Caroline said "After doing the all the immature things you just did now" Caroline added which only made Katherine roll her eyes
"We are distracting ourselves from the actual conversation Caroline" Stefan stated trying to find a reason make both of them to stop arguing for childish reasons, Caroline looked at Stefan and then at Katherine
"This conversation isn't over" Caroline order pointing her finger at Katherine who just raised her eyebrow at her.
Caroline stood looking at them
"See I know that you guys care for me and for my kids a lot, we are a family, and it's okay you being so concern , Trust me I understand" Caroline whispered, Katherine opened her mouth to say something but Caroline raised her hand stopping her "Stop, let me finish , Yes I did allowed Klaus to talk to Rumi, and if I didn't then I think I would be doing same thing Klaus did, I don't want to kill my Daughter happiness just because I don't like what she is doing, I saw her you know" Caroline whispered making them look at her with questioning "I saw her talking to Klaus, I saw the way she was talking, In fact I saw the way he was talking to her, he was so soft, humble, caring with her, I had never seen him caring for a kid before" She whispered tear dropping down her face " When I saw him with Rumi , All i wanted was to tell him to stay away, or at least to make Rumi understand that Klaus isn't the person she should talk too" she explained
"But when I saw them talking to each other, watching how nice he was with Rumi, or how Rumi was with him, smiling, Laughing, her being happy" Caroline said slowing smile appearing on her lips, as she remember Rumi smiling smile "At that moment I felt like NO I can't make her stay away from Klaus just because I don't like it, I mean I knew it would affect her afterwards, and it would be difficult to make her understand why we want Klaus way from her, She is just a Kid guys, I don't want my kids to get involve in the things that happened years ago, they don't deserve to get stuck in this THING THAT HAPPEN BETWEEN THEIR PARENTS, they deserve to stay happy and clueless until they are mature enough to handle it, I let the memories go, so should you guys" She stated looking at them, she pleased them with her expression trying her best to make them understand, Stefan and Katherine looked at Caroline, after everything she said, they realized that maybe it wasn't a bad decision as they thought it was, they both realized that now it wasn't their days of life, It was the kids, they should live and be happy for the kids, Stefan moved forward placing his hand on Caroline shoulder giving her a squeeze in approval at her decision, Caroline gave him a bright smile before turning her head to look at Katherine, waiting for her approval, Katherine looked at her for a minute before rolling her eyes and moving forward to envelope her in a hug
"Come on you Barbie" Katherine giggle squeezing Caroline in her arms "Of course I'll support you in everything" she said backing away and giving Caroline a smile which she returned "But IF Klaus does anything that will make the Kids upset, or started talking about her being the father, then swear to god, I'll cut his balls out and fed them to him for dinner" Katherine added her eyes getting widen in anger at each and every word.. Caroline nodded
"I'll Help you out, If something like this happens" Caroline added making Katherine let out a laugh , their moment was interrupted by Stefan
"Remind me to never get on your bad side" Stefan stated making the girls laugh "I'll like to keep my balls where they are" he added making Caroline and Katherine gag
"ewww" they said punching Stefan arms
"Come on, now let's forget about this conversation and let us all about trip" Stefan said to Caroline, Caroline eyes got widen and smile started forming on her lips
"Ohh MY goddd, you won't believe how much fun I had" She said making Katherine and Stefan smile at her happiness. They watched her talking or rather rambling about her trips, how the company liked her designs, Stefan and Katherine looked at her smiling so brightly and at that moment they realize that maybe Klaus coming back wouldn't affect her the way they thought it would, or maybe she is strong enough to hide it.
