Idk if you knew this, but in Latin amanda is the feminine singular future passive participle of amo, so it means "woman about to be loved" or "must be loved" or "needs to be loved" and it fits perfectly for a girl desperately in love with someone who loves someone else!

Alice and Jasper walked me to my first class, geometry. I hate math, you know. I mean whoever thought we needed this torture should be sentenced to life in prison or something. Once I open the door all heads turn to me and I blush. this is why I hate being late to class, and it doesn't help that i'm the new girl. "Starting off with a bad first impression are we? Rule number one in my class Ms. Taylor, no tardies or you'll be sitting outside of the class. Now hand me your slip and you may take a seat beside Mike Newton. Oh no, please not Mike.
I mean he sounded cute in the books, but also kind of clingy. Then again that scene in the movie when he was shaking his but was kind of cute. A hand raises into the air and when I meet the eyes of the blue eyed stranger my eyes widen. Oh my gosh. I didn't realize Newton was supposed to be so hot. In the movie the guy was cute but this Mike...Wow. Blushing, I walk toward him and take my seat. "Hey,' He says with a smile as soon as I'm beside him. "Hi." "What's your name new girl?" I can see why before the Cullen's came he was the most attractive guy in school. "I'm-" "Amanda Marie Taylor," the teacher yells causing me to jump. No one has called me by my full name in years.
"Please stop interrupting my class. Better yet, please go outside. You can try this again tomorrow." What? Standing up I sling my bag over my shoulder and walk out with my head held high. No way was I going to let her think she had embarrassed me even though she had. Once outside I see Edward and smile. What's he doing out of class? Walking toward him I take a seat beside him on the cement floor. "Ditching?" He smirked as he turned to me, "No, I just have first period free." Oh, I had never heard of this in the books. "Really?" He nodded, "Yeah, I thought you'd know." I shook my head laughing, "Apparently Stephenie Meyer didn't think this news Twilight book worthy."
"What are you doing out of class Ms. Amanda Marie Taylor?" I laugh, "Sounds like you already know the answer to that Volvo owner." He laughed, "True. I was just checking on you to see how first period was going. Don't take it to hard, Mrs. Krabber is always like this on Mondays." Oh that's wonderful. I get to experience her PMS'ing every Monday. Edward laughed, "Maybe it's her old age." 'Or that her husband was to tired to put out last night." "Or she found out her husband isn't all that great with math." We laughed together at our stupidity. "Hey Edward I thought you signed into every class Bella has after you got together." He frowned slightly, "I did?"
"Yeah, something about you not wanting to leave her side for even an instant." He shrugged, "Guess I'll do that tomorrow morning. Amanda..." I smiled at the sound of my name leaving his lips. Life couldn't get better than that. "Yes, Edward?" "Do I really get Bella pregnant?" I blush, "During your honeymoon yes. You didn't want the baby at first." He nodded, "Understandable. That thing could of killed her." I flinch, "Don't call her an it. She has a name, and Bella's brown eyes." He frowned, "How did Bella convince me to let her keep I-her?" I smiled sadly, "You love her to much to tell her no." He sighed, "Thanks, now I feel like a love slave." Laughing without thinking I throw my arms around him and hug him.
"You're not a love slave. Just a lovable vampire who sparkles like a diamond." "Shhhh, not so loud." I laugh again and sigh. It feels good to have him in my arms like this. Wait a second... Jumping away in horror I release him. "I'm sorry Edward I wasn't thinking." He laughed, "Don't worry about it. It was cute." The bell rings and Edward helps me up, offers a smile and walks away in search of Bella. With a sigh I take my schedule out and walk into someone. "Hey there new girl." I look up into Mike's blue eyes and blush, "Hi." I can't believe I'm blushing! Maybe mom was right, maybe I do need to move on from Edward. Edward seems happy with Bella anyways. What would he need me for? "Would you like help to your next class?"
If I say yes that means it's time to let Edward go Amanda I think to myself. If I say no, I'm still going to pinning after Edward. I open my mouth to reply.
