ASHLEY'S P.O.V

"This is new"

I don't think I've ever just hopped into bed with her.

We're usually fooling around and when our backs hit the mattress, we're naked or about to get naked.

"Spence I'm pretty sure this is a first"

When I say that she stops playing with her phone.

"You're in my bed wearing sweatpants and a shirt"

She's so sexy when she laughs.

"I know I'm a lot warmer than I usually am"

I quickly lock the door and walk over to where she's lying.

"We're changing already Spence..."

I move so I'm lying on my stomach next to her.

"It's not even one o'clock and we're already back from the pub, fully clothed and ready to go to bed"

I smile when she reaches out brushing her fingers through my hair.

"I know every day that passes we get that little bit more boring"

"I'm starting to like boring"

She's gorgeous.

"Ash are you alright?"

"Yer"

She has her serious face on.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Your mum showed up"

"Spence every so often she rocks up at my loft or we cross paths on the street..."

I force a smile.

"It's how we are"

I gave up on our mother daughter relationship a long time ago.

"I probably won't see her again for a few months"

"I'm sorry"

I lean across gently brushing my lips over hers.

"Don't be I'm used to it"

"Ash it's really not something you should have to get used to"

When she says that I know we're about to have one of our serious chats.

"Tell me about her"

"You want to know about my mum?"

My mother's rather boring.

"Ashley I want to know everything about you"

"Spence I wouldn't even know where to start..."

"Has she always been distant?"

Her eyes are locked on mine.

"Yer"

I guess we're having this chat.

"Growing up I never had to worry about what my parents were going to think or do"

They were never around.

"My dad was always on the road or at the studio and my mum never cared about what I was doing"

My mother's a gold digger.

There's no other way to describe her.

"It had it's perks sometimes..."

I'm grinning.

"If I got in trouble at school they used to just donate money so I wouldn't get suspended or expelled"

That was a definate perk.

"Anyway I had everything most teenagers dream about..."

I really don't want to get all depressing.

But she told me about her childhood so it's only fair I tell her about mine"

"My dad was a rockstar so I had an endless supply of money and mum was never home so I practically lived by myself in a flashy mansion in Beverly Hills"

Most teenagers can't wait to be left alone.

All I ever had was alone

"They never showed up to any of my parent teacher interviews and when I graduated they weren't there"

My life is what it is.

"When I was younger I used to always hope my dad would come home for my birthday but deep down I knew I was lucky if he even called"

He'd always call eventually.

"I actually had a nanny until I was sixteen..."

I wonder what she's up to now?

"But when I turned sixeen I got my license so my mum got rid of her"

"Do you still talk to her?"

"I have no idea if she's even living in LA anymore"

The more I talk the more I realise how messed up my family really was.

"Anyway there's really not much for me to tell..."

"Come here"

She wraps her arms around me pulling me into her side.

"I'm sorry Ash..."

What's she sorry for?

"I've been making such a big deal about my childhood and this whole time you've had your own shit going on"

Her situation's completely different from mine.

"Spencer what you went through is nothing like what I went through"

My parents have never changed.

They are who they are.

Spencer's mum turned her back on her like she meant nothing.

"Noone should ever have to go through what you've been through"

I move my head so it's resting on her chest.

"My mum's a bitch and she's never really made an effort but in her own fucked up way she's still there"

"When we were talking before she looked like she was about to cry"

I don't think I've ever seen her cry.

"Really?"

"Yer she was saying how she's been a horrible mother..."

That's different.

"And then she went all funny and changed the topic"

"Spencer don't even try and figure that women out"

I move so my face is only centremetres from hers.

"So are we really just going to go to bed?"

She's grinning.

"Or are we going to fool around?"

"We're definately fooling around"

I was hoping she'd say that.

"You're fucking sexy when you sing..."

Now I'm grinning.

"And that whole time you were on stage I wanted to drag you out the back and have my way with you"

I wouldn't have minded.

"So the whole music thing turns you on?"

"Ashley everything about you turns me on"

Tonight's going to be so much fun.
