Chapter 14: The Secrets of Family and Friends!
Part One
THE CITY OF… (Shh)… oops sorry… The City of New Townsville and it's a calm peaceful quite night. Meanwhile in the home of our little red and orange Power-Puffs, Dexter was visiting while Blossom in her pink pajamas stood home babysitting her little sister Kasey in her light orange pajamas and her living squirrel doll Bullet. The four as sat down to watch a movie as it was getting late, Kasey grew tired and rested her head on Dexter's legs like a pillow.
"ZZZ" Kasey snored "ZZZ"
"ZZZ" Bullet followed as she rested on top of Kasey "ZZZ"
"Hey, she's finally asleep!" Dexter wearing only a black t-shirt and jeans whispered as he smiled and looked at Blossom
"Thanks Dexter." Blossom said lovingly to her boyfriend "You're the best."
Dexter blushed as Blossom moved in closer to him. Blossom puckered up as she moved in Dexter placed his hand on her cheek as they both closed their eyes and moved in closer as their heart rate rose… when suddenly.
"Ooh… tee hee!" A small laugh interrupted the teens as they separated from each other
"Uh… Blossom?" Dexter embarrassingly asked "D-Did you just laugh?"
"N-no I was just…" Blossom spoke then paused "Wait a sec… Kasey, are you asleep?"
"Yes…" Kasey playfully slipped "I mean ZZZ… ZZZ."
"Chee hee hee." Bullet laughed at the joke
"KASEY!" Blossom yelled
"Calm down Blossom." Dexter cautiously explained "You know how Kasey is, she's just kidding around."
"Humph."
"And we both know how to get back at her, right heh heh heh."
"Uh Dexter?" Kasey nervously asked "Why are you looking at me like that? Wait no, you wouldn't… No… no… NOO… Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
"Bwa ha ha give up Kasey?" Blossom asked as she tickled her sister's sides while Dexter held her still
"Revenge is sweet." Dexter taunted
"AH HA HA HA HA OKAY OKAY YOU WIN HA HA HA!" Kasey called out as Dexter put her down back on the couch
"All right, it's almost time to go to bed."
"Aww."
"Don't aww me young lady… we'll play when you come to the lab okay?"
"Okay… Dexter?"
"Yes Kasey?"
"Will you carry me?"
"Wha… I… d'oh all right."
"YAY!" Kasey cheered as she jumped into Dexter's arms "Come on Bullet"
"Cheep!" Bullet cheered as she jumped on Kasey's shoulders
"Tee hee." Blossom laughed as she got up "I'll help you Dex."
"Thanks Blossom." Dexter said as they walked up the stairs
"I have to ask Dexter, how did you learn how to be such a loving big brother?"
"Oh simple, I learned from DeeDee."
"DEEDEE?" Blossom said in shock
"DEEDEE?" Kasey Followed
"CHICHI!" Bullet mimicked
"How in the world did you learn to be such a loving big brother from DeeDee of all people?" Blossom asked
"Simple." Dexter answered "She showed me exactly what NOT to do."
"Pfft… AH HA HA HA HA!" Blossom and Kasey laughed as they entered the room and placed Kasey down
"All right you too, that's enough." Dexter said as she tucked the tired little girl in "I better get going, I'll see you two tomorrow okay?"
"Okay big brother Dexter." Kasey said as she covered herself, but before she fell asleep she turned to Dexter "Dexter?"
"Yes Kasey?"
"You're going to stay with us forever right?"
"… Of course Kasey… I love you and your sister too much to ever leave you."
"Thank you big brother Dexter!" Kasey said as she got up and gave him a hug
"No problem little sister Kasey." Dexter said then gave her a peck on her forehead "Good night."
"(Yawn) Good night."
And with that Kasey went right to bed and fell asleep (for real this time), the teens slowly closed the door and went back down stairs
"I gotta say…" Blossom began "You've changed Dexter."
"Huh… I've changed?" Dexter asked with surprise "Really?"
"Yeah, I remember when you used to be all alone all the time, always tinkering and building and ignoring everyone around you."
"Wow uh… I uh… I guess I have you to thank… but have I really changed that much?"
"Yeah and you've done so much for us."
"I uh… I have?"
"Yeah… tee hee in fact I remember when you taught Kasey how to swim the other day."
*Flash Back*
"All right Kasey, are you ready to learn how to swim?" Dexter asked in his purple swim trunks
"Um… maybe later Dexter." Kasey nervously explained looking at the water from the edge in her orange two piece which looks like Blossom's pink two piece
"Kasey, you're going to have to learn how to swim sometime." Blossom explained
"I will sis… just not today."
"CHEEP!" Bullet scolded
"Not you too Bullet!"
Blossom and Dexter stood there pondering what to do
"(sigh) What do we do Dexter?" Blossom asked
"Well… I could always do what my father did to teach me how to swim." Dexter explained
"Really, how did he do it?"
Dexter just sighed as he walked over to Kasey and gently… kicked her in the water
*SPLASH*
"DEXTER!" Blossom screamed "What are you doing?"
"Don't worry." Dexter explained with a smug look on his face "I got this."
"AHH SIS, DEXTER HELP!" Kasey said as she splashed for dear life in the water "I… I CANT SWIM!"
"Kasey, it's all right!" Dexter calmly stated next to her in the water "Just relax."
"BUT DEXTER… I CAN'T SWIM!" Kasey panicked aggravating Dexter "HELP."
"Kasey… try standing up." Dexter calmly ordered
"Huh?" Kasey paused and did as Dexter said and realized that the water was only up to her belly "Uh… hee hee hee?"
"Uh hee hee hee." Dexter sarcastically mimicked "Look, swimming is actually quite easy."
"Um… really?"
"Yeah, I'll hold you up by your belly while you practice."
"Okay."
*End of Flash Back*
"Yeah I remember." Dexter blushed "The hard part was getting her out of the water once she learned."
"Ha ha yeah." Blossom laughed "Bet it wasn't as hard as tutoring Bubbles and Buttercup in history."
*Flash Back*
"The ancient Egyptians also believed in many Mythological Gods." Dexter explained in his lab coat in the lab's table room
"Man, why do have to learn history any way?" Buttercup complained in her seat
"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it Buttercup… besides learning about lives of the past can effect lives today."
"Whatever."
"Now, where was I… oh yeah, of these Gods two of the most popular were Raa the personification of the Sun…"
"Uh…" Bubbles said as she raised her hand
"Yes Bubbles?"
"I thought Apollo was the God of the Sun."
"No, that's Greek mythology Bubbles."
"Oh… okay."
"And the second was the God of Death, Anubis."
"OH MY…Uh…" Bubbles blushed raising her hand
"Yes, Bubbles?"
"Why would the God of Death walk around with no clothes on?"
"What are you talking about Bubb… NOT A NUDIST BUBBLES, ANUBIS!" Dexter franticly explained "THE EGYPTIAN GOD ANUBIS, He had a dog's head and IS ALWAYS DEPICTED WEARING A CLOAK AROUND HIS WAIST."
"Oh… sorry."
"HA HA HA YOU'RE BOTH BLUSHING!" Buttercup pointed out making the two blush more.
*End Flash Back*
"Ugh, don't remind me." Dexter sighed
"Oh come on Dexter it was funny." Blossom explained as she giggled
"Yeah… now!…(sigh)"
"Besides, when I first met you, you were the last person who I thought could take care of Kasey and Ken."
*Flash back*
"Wow, I never knew a science museum would be so much fun!" Kasey cheered
"Told ya!" Dexter now in his street clothes smiled "Quantum Physics Rock!"
"Thanks for taking us Dexter." Ken spoke up
"Alright we'll just cut through the park and we'll soon be home."
"Ooh look!" Kasey said pointing to the ice cream truck "ICE CREAM! Can we have some Dexter please?"
"Yeah please!" Ken followed
"No way." Dexter firmly stated "I already treated you kids to burgers and fries, your food consumption is already too high for this time of day, you can have snacks when you get home."
"Ooh" Ken and Kasey groaned
'That's right Dexter stay firm, you're in charge here.' Dexter thought to himself 'They had their fun, now it's time to take the kids home and finish your invention… otherwise you'll be tired on your feet.'
"Alright lets go!" Dexter said as he continued walking
"Ready Ken?" Kasey asked with malicious intent
"Yeah." Ken replied
"Dexter."
"Yeah?" Dexter asked as he turned around
"IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!" Both children screamed as they rolled on the floor "IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!"
As the two chanted passerby's couldn't help but look, old people smiled, young adults scoffed and Dexter grew nervous and panicky
"Gulp… I uh… I said no and that's final!" Dexter said as he stood firm and began walking making Ken and Kasey stop and get up after him 'That's right Dexter, you're the adult… well technically an adolescent but still.'
"But Dexter." Kasey called out as she and Ken came closer
"What?" Dexter asked as he looked back
"IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!" Both children screamed as they rolled on the floor again "IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!"
"NO!" Dexter said as he walked away again and the kids got up
"But Dexter." Ken called out this time
"What?" Dexter asked as he looked back
"IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!" Both children screamed as they rolled on the floor again "IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!"
"NO!" Dexter screamed louder
"But Dexter." Both kids called out this time
"WHAT?" Dexter asked as he looked back
"IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!" Both children screamed as they rolled on the floor again "IWANIT IWANIT IWANIT!"
"NO!" Dexter yelled even louder
Later back at the lab
"YAY ICE CREAM!" Ken and Kasey cheered as they sat licking their snack, courtesy of Dexter
"They got you good huh?" Poochi Ken's robot dog teased
"Chi!" Bullet followed
"Oh be quiet!" Dexter scolded while licking his cone
*End of Flash Back*
"Yeah I… I guess I have changed." Dexter said growing gloomy when suddenly Blossom gave him a hug
"And I love you even more because of it." Blossom said in a loving voice making Dexter calm down
"Thank you Blossom!… I love you too."
The two held hands as they stared deep into each others eyes
"You'd better go." Blossom spoke "Oh and don't forget, your sister's recital is in two days."
"Okay Blossom bye." Dexter said as he walked down the stairs then turned back to wave at his girlfriend as she blew one last kiss while he boarded his moped and drove off while she closed the door
Later Back at the lab
Dexter drove to the parking area and set his motor bike up to be teleported back into his watch. He then quietly entered the building and made sure not to wake the Utoniums. He then walked to the basement where he changed out of his street clothes and into his lab coat. He entered one last room and grabbed a torch and a wielding mask.
"Dexter?" Computress, Dexter's robotic assistant entered and saw the young man working "Dexter… what are you doing? It's late and you just got home… why are you working?"
"Because I have to, quick hand me the 7/8th wrench I have to depressurize the carbon intake!" Dexter franticly explained as Computresss complied "Thank you, now I have to switch the bi-polar connectors with tri-polars so the excess flow of energy can also fill the destabilizing ports."
"Uh… Dexter?"
"Now connect these cogs together and switch these wires, Ah ha it seems that I got the flows mixed up last time."
"Dexter?"
"And now to readjust the spectra output and readjust the galvanized pressure and…"
"Dexter?"
"AT LAST MY LATEST AND GREATEST CREATION IS COMPLETED MWA HA HA HA HA HA!… Okay time for sleep… but first I have to complete my new atomizer!"
"DEXTER!"
"WHAT?"
"Are you okay?"
"…What do you mean Computress?"
"You seem a little too wound up and confused about something. The electric output in your mind is going into overdrive, your heart rate and pressure is higher than usual and your breathing is overly erratic… there seems to be something bothering you Dexter, do you know what and why?"
"Computress… I'd never thought I'd say this in all my life but… I DON'T KNOW!"
"You… you don't know?"
"That's right, I haven't done science lately but I'm not upset, I'm more worried about Blossom getting sleep. I have so many new ideas but I want to put them on hold, I NEVER PUT IDEAS ON HOLD, now I'm too worried about Ken and Kasey's health, I barely spend time in my lab… DO I EVEN HAVE AN ACCENT ANYMORE… I-I need a distraction… I uh I… I KNOW…. Computers quick, make a holographic image of DeeDee!"
"Uh… okay…"
Computress complied and with a light projected from her chest a hologram of Dexter's older sister in her ballerina outfit appeared
"Hi Dexter!" The hologram cheered
"DEEDEE!" Dexter screamed "GET OUT OF MY LABORATORY!… DAH IT'S NOT THE SAME, something doesn't feel right… everything feels out of place!"
"Dexter…" Computress spoke putting the hologram away and placing her hand on the confused boy's shoulder "You're experiencing a big change in your life and you have yet to grasp that fact. You have friends now and you demand more freedom and time with others rather than solitude in your own world. This lab is your world, but now that you're experiencing more out side of this world you unknowingly experience more and make that part of your world. It's normal to always go back to the world you started with but you may have made the change too fast and that is why you are like this now."
"You… you really think so."
"Of course… tell me, who do you think you are."
"I am… I am… Dexter McPherson, Boy Genius!"
"Anything else?"
"Uh… scientist, chemist, astrologist, robotics expert, time traveler and… oh biologist!"
"Anything else?"
"What do you mean?"
"Dexter, everything you listed has to do with science… is there anything else?"
"Uh besides mathematics expert."
"No, I mean like… Friend, musician, companion, lover and big brother figure."
"(Gasp)"
"You have yet to fully grasp the fact that you have all these new items to add to your list and that change is what you're experiencing."
"Computress I…"
"I'm not saying you can't be just Dexter, Boy Genius, forever… I'm saying you can be… so much more…Dexter… I want you to do what makes you happy but now that your life is bigger, you have to learn to share it and still do what you love to do."
"I… I think I get it… More than anything I love doing science… but science isn't the only thing I should do!"
"Exactly!"
"I will always do science, but… now there's a lot more to my life and I can't give any of that up. Science… my music… my friends… and most importantly… Blossom… I just need to adjust… thank you Comptress."
"Any time Dexter."
The two hugged as Dexter's worries vanished and realization and closure settled in
"Now try to get some sleep." Coputress ordered
"Okay, okay." Dexter complied then turned around "But first, just one last adjustment."
"Dexter…. Bed… NOW!"
"Okay, okay!… Good night."
"Good night Dexter!… And don't forget about your sister's recital!"
"Yeah yeah."
And with that Computress went back to her station and rested up for the night as she recharged
Meanwhile in a small suburban town far away
"Honey, I'm home!" A tall blonde man with glasses came in and greeted his wife
"Hi Mom!" DeeDee came in afterward
"I got the mail dear, Dexter wrote to us again!"
"Oh really!" The mother a red-haired woman in an apron and latex gloves entered the living room "Let me see!"
The woman read the letter then gave a sigh of relief knowing her boy was okay
"What's the matter dear?" The father asked
"I'm sorry dear." The mother explained "I was watching my talk shows and they were all the same… teenagers… it really bothers me to know that their just babies thinking about the consequences of rushing into love."
"Don't worry dear, we have both taught our children and I'm sure they both know better."
"That's right Mom!" DeeDee cheered "I know better and I'm pretty sure Dexter and his girlfriend knows better too!"
"See dear DeeDee knows better and we know we can trust Dexter and his…"
"GIRLFRIEND!?" Both parents screamed in surprise
"Oops, I wasn't suppose to tell you."
"And why is that DeeDee?" Mom angrily asked
"Well I uh… you see…"
"Now now dear." The father said trying to stay calm "I'm sure Dexter and DeeDee have a good reason."
"Yeah mom… w-we do!"
"So DeeDee, what does this girl look like?"
"Well uh… oh, I have some pictures I have from my spring break when I was with Mimi and LeeLee *Read Chapters 9 and 10*.
DeeDee ran to her room and brought down her pictures, her parents sat on the couch as DeeDee showed them all the fun they had.
"This was all of us girls." DeeDee explained as she handed them the picture
"I still think that swimsuit was too skimpy for you DeeDee." the Mom explained
"So these four other girls are friends of yours." the father asked
"Yes, the recital we had was around the time of the S.O.T.I. meeting and they work for Professor Utonium in New Townsville."
"Oh that's the man who gave Dexter that new job." the mother realized "So Dexter made some friends, but which one is his so called girlfriend?"
"Look at this one." DeeDee said as she handed a picture of Dexter in the water while his hand was around Blossom's waist as they waved at the camera "See the red haired girl with the bow, that's her, her name is Blossom."
"SO!" the Mother began to fume "This is the hussy that's trying to take my little boy away from me huh!"
"Um Mom… don't you think you're over reacting a bit?"
"Dear it's decided! We're going to your recital in New Townsville!"
"Um… okay…" 'oh man what have I done? I promised Dexter I wouldn't tell.'
"You did send that E-mail about your dance right DeeDee?"
"Um… yeah."
"Good… Honey, pack your things we're going to check out this little tramp uh I mean DeeDee's dancing."
"But honey, you know we'll be there for at least two weeks right?" The Father explained
"How ever long it take, now… GET PACKING!"
"Yes ma'am!"
The Father obeyed and ran to the main bed room where the married couple began packing leaving DeeDee beside herself
"Oh… knowing Mom, she's going to break Blossom and Dexter up." DeeDee spoke to herself with worry "I want Dexter to be happy but… hmm… maybe I shouldn't think about it too much… on the bright side… MY LITTLE KASEY WILL BE THERE FOR ME TO GIVE A GREAT BIG HUG!"
Meanwhile in the same part of town
Mandark was pacing around his lab as he finished up his newest machine
"Yeeeees yeees, Now my that new atomizer is complete I can finally get back at Mojo Jojo *Read chapter 10*." Mandark explained to himself as he prepared for his visit back into New Townsville "Mojo Jojo will pay for this humiliation and I Mandark shall be victorious HA-HA-HA HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"
"SUUUUUSAN!" A voice called forcing Mandak to move to another part of his lab
"Y-yes Olga." Mandark stuttered at the sight of his little sister practicing on her gymnastics on her balancing board in a purple leotard
"You're not planning anything too evil again are you?" Olga aka LalaVava asked while hand standing with a disgruntled look
"N-no Olga, just getting back at a thief."
"Good (Sigh) I can't wait to show off at the recital."
"I'll bet… need help getting down?"
"No thanks." Olga said as she flipped over Mandark and landed on her mat "Besides I need to clear my head."
"So… can't wait to hand out with DeeDee again?"
"Yeah, she and the PowerPuff Girls can show us around New Townsville."
"You know Dexter will be there too right?"
"…"
"Olga?"
"I'm going to take a break."
"…"
Olga walked off leaving man dark dumbfounded as they prepared for the ballet recital.
Two days later outside The New Townsville Dance Theater
Dexter, Blossom, Kasey and Bullet all showed up looking at the crowds that showed up for the Ballet Recital
"Man, look at all of them." Dexter said in his street clothes as he stared in awe at all the people
"LOOK AT THAT SELECTION!" Blossom said as she and Kasey looked at the snacks in the snack bar "So many candies so little time."
"Oh… do we have enough money sis?" Kasey asked
"Eh-hem, we're suppose to be looking for DeeDee." Dexter said making the girls turn at him with pleading eyes "(sigh)… how much?"
"YAY!" The sisters cheered as Dexter paid for their snacks… ALL of their snacks
"Hey Blossom!" A voice called making Blossom and Kasey look
"LALA!" Blossom called back as the two came closer and joined hands "Long time no see."
"Yeah it has, hold on a sec… SUSAN, get your scrawny little butt over here and say hi to my friend!"
"Oh uh… hello… Blossom." Mandark spoke in fear of his sister's wrath
"To Dexter too!"
"Y-yes ma'am… hello Dexter."
"Uh… hello Mandark." Dexter said having no choice "And… hello Lala."
"Um… hi." Olga awkwardly turned away
"What's wrong Lala?" Blossom asked
"It's… nothing just… forget it."
"Hey sis!" Kasey said getting everyone's attention as she pointed to clouds in the distance "What's that?"
"It looks like some sort of Dust storm." Dexter explained
"In the middle of a large city like this with barely and winds,unlikely but not impossible."
"Maybe you nerds should take a closer look." Olga explained
"Let me see." Blossom looked with her hand covering the sun from her eyes as the clouds came closer, she then noticed someone in front of it "Wait… is that?"
"KASEY!" a voice called out as it ran full speed causing the clouds to rise up (Like a dust storm) as it headed towards the group "I'VE COME BACK FOR YOU MY ADORABLE LITTLE BUNDLE OF CUTENESS!"
"AHH IT'S DEEDEE!" Kasey panicked "Hide me!"
*SKIIIIIIIIIID*
"Where is she?" DeeDee asked as she franticly searched for Kasey who was actually hiding behind Dexter and Blossom "I wanna see my huggable wuggable Kasey Wasey, and give her a great big hug!"
"Nice to see you too DeeDee." Blossom sarcastically stated
"Still a lolicon I see." Dexter teased
"You're mean." DeeDee pouted as Kasey stuck her tongue out "KASEY!"
"AHH!" Kasey yelled as she jumped onto Dexter's chest forcing him to carry her
"Oh poopy."
"Well not that it wasn't fun or anything but…" Dexter said as he placed Kasey down although she held on to his hand for dear life "So DeeDee how are things back home?"
"Oh well uh… about that."
"Dexter!" A woman's voice called getting his attention
"Hiya son!" A man's voice followed "How you doing?"
"DAH UH MOM… DAD… H-How are you doing?" Dexter said growing more and more nervous "So uh… what a surprise! So uh… what brings you to New Townsville?"
"Well dear it's been so long since we've seen each other." The mother explained "and so we decided to visit and…"
The parent paused to stare at the little girl holding tightly to Dexter's arm
"…Honey." The Mom spoke to the Dad "Call the police."
"Now now." The father pleaded
"MOM, WHAT THE HECK?" Dexter screamed in surprise "This is Kasey, she's a friend… and apparently… I'm her human shield."
"Human shield?" Dad asked "For what?"
"DeeDee of course."
"EEP!" Kasey said hiding again
"Must… hug… so… badly!" DeeDee growled
"So Dexter, tell me how you've been." The mom spoke up
"I'm good… um actually… there's someone who I want you to meet." Dexter said as he made a gesture to call his girlfriend over to greet his parents "Mom, Dad I'd like you to meet Blossom."
"Hello there, Mr. and Mrs. McPherson." Blossom politely greeted "My name is Blossom."
"Hello there Blossom." The mother said one thing but thought another 'So this is the hussy that's trying to take my son.'
"Nice to meet you, are you taking good care of my boy?" The father did the same 'To think my son could get such a cute and polite little lady.'
"So… exactly how long have you been seeing each other."
"Um… a couple of months." Dexter nervously spoke up
"Really… so what do you do together?"
"Oh uh… not much…uh."
"We've dated." Blossom blurted out
"YOU TWO HAVE BEEN DATING!" The mom lost it
"BLOSSOM!" Dexter panicked
"Well you might as well tell them." Blossom explained "My parents already know."
"Everyone calm down." The father spoke up "So how is my son exactly?"
"Well at first he would either be quiet or go too much into science, but as time went on he's really opened up."
"All right all right that's enough!" Dexter said as he began pushing Blossom towards the stage "The show will start soon, we really should hurry okay!"
"DEXTER GENNDY MCPHERSON!" The mom called out freezing her son in place "We are not done with this conversation."
"But I uh… sorry mom."
"You're acting weird Dexter." Blossom pointed out
"Well he has been keeping secrets from us and I don't like secrets." The mother explained
"I don't see any thing wrong with secrets… well, as long as it doesn't cause too much harm anyway… speaking of which, why didn't you tell me your middle name was Genndy Dexter?"
"Well I uh…" Dexter's face turned red
"There's no reason to be embarrassed, I think Genndy sounds cute."
"Ugh…"
"Speaking of which." The father spoke "So why didn't you tell us you have a girlfriend Dexter?"
"Huh… well I uh…"
"Yes Dexter…" Blossom began to fume "Why didn't you tell them about me?"
"Well because I…" Dexter began to fidget "I wanted to keep it a surprise until I knew you would show up… a-and I didn't know how to tell you, that's all."
"Hmm… alright I'll take that." The father explained
"Well I won't!" The mother followed "Young man you know how I feel about secrets! It was bad enough when we discovered your lab in our house, we accepted that you loved science… BUT A THIS… A GIRLFRIEND? You need to learn some manners young man!"
"Now Mrs. McPherson, I'm very sure that there is a reasonable explanation for all this." Blossom cautiously pleaded "I'm sure if we talk about this we could…"
"This is a family matter young lady and it does not involve a little hussy like you!"
"Hussy?… HUSSY?… Now wait just a minute, you don't even know me!"

The girls were all taken back as they stared at the strange tall figure, he wore a lab coat, pants and boots but no undershirt leaving his rippling muscular red body exposed, the girls looked on in horror as they saw his red face with no eyes, no mouth, no nose and no hair, only four yellow eyes and most of all…
"H-his head in on fire." Bubbles quietly spoke in shock
"No way!" Blossom spoke up "You're Dr. X?"
"That is correct my dear." Dr. X explained
"His head is on fire." Bubbles began to speak up
"What do you want with New Townsville?" Buttercup growled
"My plans are for me to know and you to find out." Dr. X answered
"His head is on Fire!" Bubbles grew louder
"I'm sorry sir, but we can't have that here." Bunny spoke
"My apologizes dear, but I have a schedule to keep." Dr. X teased
"His head is on FIRE!" Bubbles yelled
"Well we're here to stop you and you won't hurt anyone!" Bloom said trying to stay brave
"Chi Chee!" Bullet readied herself
"My, aren't you brave." Dr. X applauded
"HIS HEAD IS ON F…"
"WE GET IT BUBBLES, HIS HEAD IS ON FIRE!" The other girls explained
"Ha ha ha, You girls are more entertaining than I realized." Dr. X Mocked
"Alright you, what do you want?" Blossom asked as she and the girls readied their weapons
"What do I want?" Dr. X asked back "Mwa ha ha ha ha ha, My dear with the power I possess I can have any thing I want… and what I want is… The World!"
"But… but why?" Bubbles asked with a stutter
"And why cause all of this destruction?" Buttercup followed
"What was the point of destroying Citiesberg?" Bunny finished
"Those were merely test to show my power." Dr. X explained "I'm sure you are well aware of the Artificial Z-Rays I have created, well… using their power to their full potential I have created weapons even I can barely control."
"So where does Mojo Jojo fit into all of this?" Bloom asked
"Cheep chi!" Bullet chirped
"His skill in robotics can serve me in building an army capable of destroying anyone in my path." Dr. X explained "Even you and those foolish heroes of the A.W.S.M."
"Sorry Doc!" Buttercup growled "But we won't let that happen!"
"YEAH!" the other girls rallied
"PowerPuff Girls Z!" Blossom commanded "ATTACK!"
The girls all charged ready to attack the mad man all at once, suddenly Dr. X raised his hand and…
*FLASH*
The girls stopped moving, frozen in midair
"Wh-what's going on?" Blossom asked as she struggled
"I-I can't move!" Bubbles panicked
"H-how is he doing this?" Buttercup angrily complained
"I-is this his power?" Bunny analyzed
"H-how powerful is he?" Bloom finished
"Cheep!" Bullet chirped
"The Black Z-Rays give my mental powers unlimited capabilities." Dr. X mocked "While powerful you little girls are still lower life forms compared to me… now begone!"
With a wave of his hand Dr. X sent the girls flying into nearby buildings only to crash into the ground below
*BAM BAM…. BAMBAMBAM… CRASH*
'Man that hurt.' Blossom thought to herself 'Maybe if we rush him from all sides.'
"Is that all girls?" Dr. X continued mocking "Maybe the people in the buildings would like to join?"
*Zap zap ZAP*
Dr. X raised his hand and began blasting buildings causing panic inside and out
"STOP IT!" Blossom yelled "These people have nothing to do with this fight!"
"But they are in the way and it's no fun if they don't join ha ha ha!"
"Grr…Girls! Protect as many people as you can!"
"Right!" Bubbles, Bunny and Bloom obliged
"But what about you Blossom?" Buttercup asked
"I'll keep him distracted!" Blossom asked
"Got it! Be careful Blossom!"
The girls did as their leader asked getting people to safety, moving or destroying anything harmful and protecting them as they ran, meanwhile Blossom flew headfirst into Dr. X only to be stopped with his free hand and thrown to the side
"Nice try Blossom, but it won't save you." Dr. X Scolded "Or them."
Dr. X raised his hand towards a certain married couple, Dexter's parents. As the husband held his wife close Dr. X used his mental powers and lifted a van and hovered it over the two
"You were wonderful test subjects." Dr. X teases "But now it's time to DIE!"
"AAAAAHHH!" The spouses screamed as the van began to fall
"NOOOOO!" Blossom flew as fast as she can to the couple when suddenly
*CRASH*
Blossom managed to catch the van and prevent it from crushing the parents. She then turned to Dr. X unable to move incase he attacked again
"Very good, but now what will you do?" Dr. X said as he raised his hand towards Blossom "Will you dodge and let them get hurt or will you take the attack and die… lets find out shall we?"
Dr. X's hand began to glow ready to attack, Blossom gritted her teeth ready for the attack and the girls looked on as they could do nothing. Dr. X's hand glowed more and more forcing Blossom to brace herself, she closed her eyes tight ready for the attack… but nothing came… she slowly opened her eyes and instead of seeing an attack she saw a familiar figure in front of her…
"B… Bell?" Blossom asked in shock seeing the evil white PowerPuff in front of her.
"Doctor." Bell spoke "I believe you've had your fun, we should be going and prepare for the next attack."
"Very well." Dr. X spoke as he lowered his hand and walked away and then began to fly away with Bell right behind her "Well this have been fun Girls but I have plans, we shall finish this another time good bye."
"Dr. X wait!" Blossom called out as she threw the van out of harms way "Why are you doing this?"
"This was just a test little girl, the real battle has yet to come." Dr.X explained as Bell grabbed on to him "Until then my dears, I bid you adiu!"
And with that…
*FLASH*
Dr. X, Bell and The robot disappeared leaving the girls to land back on the ground and sigh
"Are you okay?" Blossom asked the McPherson's
"We're fine thank you." Mrs. McPherson spoke "It's nice to meet such brave and courageous young people as yourselves."
"Yes it is." Mr. McPherson finished "Dear we should be going."
"Okay dear." Mrs. McPherson answered and turned back to the PowerPuff "You are a brave young girl, I'll bet there's someone special out there just for you."
"Um… Thank you." Blossom said as she grew sad to the unsuspecting couple as they walked off
"Blossom?" Bloom asked "Are you okay?"
"Yeah… lets go home."
and with that the sisters flew off back to their beds for some well deserved sleep
"Poor Blossom." Bubbles spoke up
"I wish there was something we could do for her." Bunny explained "and Dexter."
"Don't worry, I'm not giving up on them." Buttercup perked up "and neither should you two."
"Right!" Bubbles and Bunny said now happy
"For now lets just get some rest."
"Okay, good night!" said Bubbles
"Good night." said Bunny
And with that the girls all went their separate ways and flew home.
Later that night back at the Utonium's lab
"(Sigh)"
"What's wrong Dexter?" DeeDee asked in her pajamas
"Nothing just… thinking about Blossom and how I'll miss her."
"DEXTER, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? You're suppose to be a genius, how can you not figure out what to do?"
"I know that! It's just… this is mom we're talking about."
"I know but… so why don't you just tell Mom Blossom's secret?"
"Are you crazy? I can't do that to Blossom!"
"It's the only way, besides if you don't… mom will make sure you never see her again."
"…"
"Dexter… just how much do you love Blossom?"
"Well I… I can't explain it DeeDee, part of me is willing to give up science for her."
"Wow!"
"But…"
*RING RING RING*
Suddenly the phone rang and Dexter got up out of his seat and picked it up
"Hello?" Dexter asked
"Hello Dexter." Blossom said on the other line
"Blossom? How are you?"
"I can't sleep."
"Why?"
"Because… I want you to know… (Sniff, Hic) I LOVE YOU DEXTER!"
"Blossom I…"
"And I don't want you to go, but… I promise… I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU! WAAAAAH!"
"… HUMPH… Blossom listen to me!"
"Y-Yes?"
"I… I want you to show off your secret tomorrow."
"WHAT?… But why?"
"Because… I want Mom and Dad to see the angel you really are."
"DeeDee too?"
"DeeDee too."
"(Sniff) Okay Dexter… if you say so… do you think it will work?"
"If it doesn't I want you to know that… I love you too, from the bottom of my heart."
"Okay Dexter, I'll trust you…"
"Good… get some rest angel… please."
"I will Dexter, good night."
"Good night Blossom… bye."
*Click*
Dexter hung up the phone and turned back too his sister with a strange smile on his face
"DeeDee…" Said Dexter "You're in for one heck of a surprise tomorrow!"
Meanwhile back at Dr. X's lab
Mojo and Mojo Jr. awaited Dr. X return while they waited in their quarters on their computers
"Are the Spy cams set Jr?" Mojo Jojo asked his son
"All set dad." Mojo Jr. complied "There's the ice block like you said."
"Dr. X said this is the source of all his weapons powers. Now lets see what this block of ice really holds."
Mojo and Jr. typed every combination they could think of to see what was in the strange block of ice that powered Dr. X's plans
"All right, I think I got it." Mojo said as he typed in one last combination "Lets see, a little more light, some contrast and… there… WHAT?"
"Dad?" Mojo Jr. shivered "Do you see what I see?"
"I… I hope not… inconceivable to think that Dr. X's source of Power is… is … IS…"
"A++en+10n M0j0 J0j0 N M0j0 jr." XYZ Called on the loud speaker "U Pr1m38s R n33d3d 0n +#3 6r1dg3 1mm3d1a+31y"
"Do you understand what that stupid robot is saying?" Mojo asked
"No, but I think he wants us on the bridge." Jr. explained "Dr. X might be back."
"Okay lets go… but remember, what we saw is between us."
"Got it."
The two monkey men closed down their systems and walked to the bridge to meet the good doctor and his daughter
"Ah you have returned Dr. X." Mojo greeted "So… what do you think of New Townsville's heroes?"
"They were… interesting." Dr.X explained "But I don't know if they've reached their full potential yet."
"But you can still beat them right?"
"In due time Mojo… come let us feast… for we still have time on our hands."
"Very well Dr. X." Bell lowly said as she followed the group to the dinning hall "I'll do as you say… for now.
The next morning on the roof of the Utonium's lab
Dexter waited looking over the horizon when his parents and sister appeared, ready to talk about… secrets
"All right Dexter we got your call." The father spoke "So what's new?"
"I hope you're all packed young man." The mom stood firm
"Mom, Dad…" DeeDee spoke up "Maybe we should just listen."
"Thank you DeeDee…" Dexter said as he cleared his throat "Mom… Dad… I know how you feel about secrets… but I believe that we have no right to expose secrets as long as they don't cause pain."
"Dexter." The Mom interrupted "Secrets tear people and families apart, I told you that before and I'm telling you that now."
"Let me ask you… did we tear apart before you found out about my lab or after?"
"It doesn't matter."
"It does matter."
"Dexter, I am your mother and you are my little boy."
"I AM NOT your little boy anymore Mom… I'm growing up, I have my own life now!"
"I know that, I just want to be part of it."
"So you can ruin it?"
"Dexter as your mother you should know, I AM ALWAYS RIGHT!"
"… Mom… No, you're not… and that's why I want to show you why some secrets should be kept… okay, you can come out now!"
Dexter called out as the family stood silent, when suddenly…
"(Gasp) LOOK!" DeeDee called out as she pointed to the red and pink PowerPuff as she flew in the air and landed next to Dexter
"Look dear." The father spoke up "It's the red PowerPuff that saved us last night."
"I see that but…" The mom asked "What's she doing here?"
"I'm here to tell you a secret." The red PowerPuff explained "You see I'm not just a PowerPuff girl, I'm just an ordinary teenager with family and friends. The powers and weapons are just a disguise, but not just for me… you see I protect this city with my gifts and life so that people can be happy and I've made a lot of enemies. If my real identity was revealed then not only will I be in more danger but my family and friends will be in danger too. If the bad guys can't get to me then they could go after whoever I'm connected to… you see…"
The red PowerPuff grabbed her compact and a flash of light appeared, with the light gone the family stood in shock too see Blossom instead of the red PowerPuff girl
"I'm really Blossom." Blossom explained
"Y-you're t-that girl!" The mom said in shock as Blossom nodded "Dexter, you knew about this?"
"That's right Mom." Dexter explained "I knew all along, that's why I couldn't tell you."
"Dexter… your girlfriend is a PowerPuff Girl?" The father asked
"If Blossom's a PowerPuff Girl… then that means." DeeDee realized
"That's right." Dexter explained "All the other girls in the lab are PowerPuffs too."
The family was stunned by the revelation as a new outlook began to seep in
"Now then… Mrs. McPherson." Blossom said grabbing the Mother's attention "Let me ask you something… now that you know who I really am, what's to stop you from telling someone else until it reaches one of the monsters I fight?"
"Well I…" the Mom stood stunned
"According to you all secrets tear families apart but my secret protects my family. So tell me… what should I do keep my secret and keep my family safe of tell my secret and put them in danger."
"Mom… I'm sorry I kept my lab a secret from you when I was little, but now it's time to move on because no matter what, having secrets is part of life and it's no secret that… (Grabs Blossom's hand)… I AM IN LOVE WITH BLOSSOM… and you won't give her a chance like a real mother should, so what's it going to be?"
Dexter's family stood stunned as they looked on at their fifteen year old and surprisingly mature son
"Dexter…" The mother spoke up "I am your mother, it's my job to protect you, to guide you and to mold you… into a good man. You are a child, my child, and despite all of that… (Sniff) You're right!"
Blossom and Dexter were stunned by the mothers response
"Mom?" DeeDee asked
"Honey?" The Father followed
"I… I have to accept it." Dexter's mom began "My little boy is growing up and instead of guiding him into being a good man, we were forcing him to be what we were. Dexter, making you shut down the lab was out of concern for your safety but then we tried to force you into different habits. You weren't hurting anyone and you told me when you were younger that when you grew up you either wanted to be a super hero… or a scientist so that you can help people with your gift. Keeping your lab a secret from us was a huge shock and I thought, what if was hurt and we didn't know? It tore me apart and I was afraid it would tear our family apart because I was worried about what kind of man would you be if you kept keeping secrets like this… and you were in there all the time… alone and I guess that thought just haunted me for years. I didn't want to stop you when you said you wanted to stay with my father and every time you made him proud he would tell me and I was happy. I guess I let my fear of secrets cloud my judgement and blind me to your happiness… Dexter, I truly believe you, My little man, can change the world."
"Mom I…" Dexter said with a tear in his eye
"And Blossom… I owe you an apology too."
"It's alright Mrs. McPherson." Blossom spoke up "Actually when I first met Dexter he was quiet and always alone. I know what it's like to be alone because of your thoughts and gifts, I do have friends but something about Dexter told me to open him up and well… I fell in love with him. I know he's a nerd and a bit of a showoff, but he's also kind, caring and friendly, that's why I want to see how far this will go."
"That's… very generous of you dear, maybe I should get to know you better before I make more assumptions… and don't worry, I know how to keep secrets too."
"Mom I…" Dexter spoke up "Thank you so much!"
The parent and child embraced each other in a big hug as tears ran through everyones eyes, even the other girls who were listening from the doorway from the lab to the roof
"(Sniff) I'm so happy for Dexter's family and Blossom." Bubbles said wiping her tears away
"Yeah, we all are too." Bunny stated "Right Buttercup?"
"Huh uh I'm not crying!" Buttercup objected rubbing her eyes "I just got something in my eye that's all."
"Ha ha ha, well I'm just glad everyone's happy." Kasey stated
"Cheep chi!" Bullet chirped in Kasey's arms
The group laughed when suddenly DeeDee appeared and gave them all stern looks
"So you're all PowerPuffs right?" DeeDee asked
"Uh yeah." They explained
"Even Kasey?"
"Um yeah, that's right." Kasey added
"Hmm… THAT JUST MAKES YOU SO MUCH CUTER!"
"AAAAAHHH!"
Kasey ran for dear life as DeeDee tried to hug her again and gave chase
"Wait for me Kasey!" DeeDee cheerfully called out "I'm coming for you!"
The two girls (And the squirrel doll) gave Ran off leaving the older girls to watch
"Dexter was right!" Bubbles stated making the other two look at her "That does sound wrong."
"UGH" both girls groaned but then bursted out in laughter "Ha ha ha!"
And so everything went fine and everyone was happy and dandy… except for Kasey who's still running for her life

Author's Notes: Like I said before I'm losing interest in PPGZ and This story but I do want to finish it. So I'm sorry I really wish I didn't have so many distractions in my life and now I'm even more stressed now that I have lost my job thanks to a new manager and her new rules (sigh) asking her for help with anything you don't understand is like asking a blind person for directions… and I asked for help over and over again only to get little to no help leading to my termination. Anyway I want to apologize for the wait (and for DeeDee's innuendos, hey Steven Spielberg did it all the time in his cartoons "Good Night Everybody") Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy the story even after several hiatuses. Anyway Dexter's middle name Genndy is a homage to his creator Genndy Tartakovski and the McPherson name is something fans have made up and been using for years.
News: I'm pretty sure by now you all heard of the New PowerPuff Girls Reboot. I just hope it's good and doesn't suffer from season rot like the original PowerPuff Girls. Yes, I am upset that the original voice actors are not coming back but you never know since some people who worked on Adventure Time worked on this too (Rebecca Sugar worked on Adventure Time and now look at Steven Universe). Anyway it seems that PPGZ's hopes for an American release is looking dim, unless when the new PPG releases on Cartoon Network, Boomerang will play a marathon of the old show and bring in PPGZ (No chance for a redub though). I just hope that now that we have a female president in Cartoon Network we get more variety. First off the PPGs are girls, last I checked CN doesn't want girls. I guess they learned from Disney thanks to the success of Star Vs. The Forces of Evil (Love that show) and Nickelodeon is getting The Miraculous LadyBug (The CG show not the Anime, the shorts will be in english online, look it up). Hopefully they wont neglect the fairer sex (It's a little known fact that Girl toys out sell Boy toys 3 to 1after all). Now all they just need daytime anime I mean NickToons has Digimon and LBX and Disney XD has is Doraemon (FREAKIN' DORAEMON) and I'm crossing my fingers for Marvel's Disk Wars Avengers (I know it basically turns the Avengers into Pokemon but it's still better than Avengers Assemble, but they actually keep the same voice actors in the english dub that's in Asia and best of all DEADPOOL appears in more than one episode) all CN has is Pokemon… CN NEEDS ANIME! (Trust me) Any who lets hope for a brighter future and a sooner than later next chapter
