Chapter 15: The Rise of Lala Vava!
Part 1
The City of New Townsville, but enough about that! Lets go back in time in a new location… WELCOME to Anytown, USA five years ago in at the local ballet studio.
"All right girls, that's enough for today." The instructor commanded "DeeDee, Lala, could you two come here for a minute?"
"Coming Ms. Pierre!" A twelve year old DeeDee cheered as she did as was instructed
"Yes, Ms. Pierre?" A nine year old Lala Vava asked as she appeared in front of the instructor
"You girls have done an excellent job and I believe you should be in the final act."
"REALLY?" both girls asked
"Yes, of course!"
"Thank you Ms. Pierre!" DeeDee sang and danced "Thank you Thank you Thank you!"
"We'll do our best ma'am." Lala stated
"I know you will, now go home and get a good rest." Ms. Pierre explained "The next recital is one month from now, remember to practice and be prepared."
"Okay!" both girls stated
"Oh Lala, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Okay." Lala lowly spoke as DeeDee danced away
"I've noticed that you haven't been getting along with any of the girls other than DeeDee."
"… Well… I've never been very good at making friends Ms. Pierre."
"Lala… Olga, just try, you'll be surprised at who you'll get to know."
"…"
"Just try, okay?"
"Okay Ms. Pierre."
"That good, now go home and her some rest. I'm sure your parents are outside."
"Doubt it… they probably forgot about me again."
"I'll give them a call, just in case."
"Okay… bye Ms. Pierre."
"So long dear."
And with that Olga aka Lala Vava walked towards her locker to change her clothes
"Look, it's Olga." Said one of the pretty girls "How is she the best dancer?"
"I know." Said another girl "I can't believe Ms. Pierre thinks she's as good as DeeDee and the worst part is… they're friends."
"Not to mention, she's going to be in the lead." The last girl explained "Unless she's unable to dance due to an accident."
"I know what to do." The first girl explained "Meet me by the stairs."
"Yeah heh heh heh." The other two girls laughed at went by the doors
Olga and DeeDee went out the doors to look around for their families who all came to pick them up before the big rain storm came
"Oh, look there's my Mom and Dad." DeeDee cheered "Dexter's here too!… but I don't see your parents Lala!"
"I'm calling them right now." Olga stated on her cell phone "Hello? Mom?… It's me Olga… OLGA… Lala Vava… Yes, mom…. I'm calling because dance practice is over and you said you or dad would be here to pick me up… What?… That couldn't wait… fine I'll walk home… in the rain… with the broken umbrella that I told you about… What do you mean you're busy cooking… and dad's doing what?… Mom don't hang up Mom MOM!… ugn not again."
"What happened Lala?"
"They forgot… again… plus my mom's cooking and my dad is trying to change the tank in the car to use vegetable oil instead of gas…"
"Oh right! You're parents are tree kissers right?"
"You mean tree huggers and yes."
"DeeDee!" a ten year old Dexter called out as he began climbing up the stairs "Are you coming? This storm will be here any minute."
"Coming!" DeeDee called but then turned back to Lala "Hey, I know! We can drop you off by your house if you want Lala."
"Hmm?" Lala questioned as the three girls walked by "AHH!"
"Oops, my bad." One of the girls spoke as she pretended to accidentally bump into Lala causing her to fall down the stairs
"AHH!"
"GOTCHA!" Dexter said as he managed to catch and halt Lala's fall, Dexter managed to keep his balance but due to the impact it causes his glasses too fall off his face "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine you…you…" Olga was halted by Dexter's glasses free face "um… thanks… um."
"Here are your glasses Dexter." DeeDee said as Dexter helped Lala stand up
"Thank you DeeDee." Dexter said as he placed his glasses back on then looked back at Lala "Are you okay?"
"Um… yeah… but…" Olga stuttered "There's a smudge on your glasses."
"Really?" Dexter asked as he pulled out a handkerchief "Let me get it off."
'HOLY CRUD!' Lala's brains exploded
"There we go." Dexter said as he put his glasses back on
"Good thing that nerd caught you Lala." One of the girls teases
"Yeah, it'd be too bad if you couldn't dance at the recital." another girl followed
"Yeah, then Ms. Pierre would have to find a better dancer for the lead." The last girl finished as they laughed
"Well, it's a good thing you three suck then right?" DeeDee spoke up making the three angrily leave
"Ignore them." Dexter suggested "So who's your friend DeeDee?"
"Dexter this is my friend Lala Vava!" DeeDee introduced "AKA Olga Astronominov."
"Astonominov? Where have I heard that name before?"
"And Lala this is my dorky brother Dexter."
"Um Hello." Lala said as they shook hands "So DeeDee… about that ride?"
"Okay!" DeeDee stated as the rain began pouring "Let's get in the car, quick!"
*BOOM*
Thunder clapped as the kids all ran into the car and began driving, as the friends stood quiet. DeeDee hummed to herself, Dexter simply looked out the window and Lala couldn't help but look at Dexter.
"Uh oh." The father spoke up getting the kids attention "Your house is this way right Olga?"
"That's right." Olga explained
"Well there's been an accident on the road, I won't be able to get you home in time for dinner."
"That's okay, I wouldn't be surprised if Mom forgot to cook for me again anyway."
The family drove to their house with their guest and ran inside to avoid getting soaked in the rain. Mr. McPherson opened the door and everyone walked inside
"Okay dear the phone is over there on the wall." The mother explained "You can use it to call your parents."
"Thank you Mrs. McPherson." said Olga as she walked over and dialed the phone
"I'm going to my room." Dexter moaned as he went up stairs
"Okay dear." Mrs. McPherson called out "Dinner will be ready soon."
"Okay mom!"
"Hello… Mom?" Olga said on the phone "It's Olga… OLGA… Listen, I'm at DeeDee's house. There was an accident on the road and we got caught in the rain so I'm staying here for the night okay?… (sigh) okay mom… good night."
Olga hung up the phone with frustration and walked towards DeeDee on the couch
"Mom said it's okay." Olga said with a disgruntled look on her face "Just like everything else I do, it doesn't matter."
"So… your parents act like you don't exist or something?" DeeDee asked
"Yeah… it's always your older brother this and your older bother that, he says he doesn't want to hurt Mom and Dad but… never mind… by the way where's your bother?"
"Oh he's upstairs in his secret laboratory."
"Oh… wait, your bother has a secret laboratory too?"
"YEAH, he has everything! Robots, lasers, and air planes, we solve some mysteries and rewrote history, but sometimes he can be a real duck blur."
(Please don't sue me Disney… oh wait, Teen Titans Go did it and you didn't sue them… never mind)
"Wait, what do you mean too?" DeeDee grew shocked
"Yeah, he's a real super nerd." Olga explained "I try not to bother him too much or his nerdy-ness might rub off on me."
"Oh I go in my brother's lab all the time, but he keeps yelling at me to get out cause he says I break or destroy everything."
"Really?"
"Yeah… but he's just exaggerating, I don't touch a thing."
"Some how, I find that hard to believe."
"Come on I'll show you."
The two girls snuck up stairs an into Dexter's room, they then snuck to the book case and once DeeDee moved a book the case rose up and revealed DEXTER'S LABORATORY!
"WHOA!" Olga stated as she stared in awe
"Well, what do you think?" DeeDee asked
"Well, it is cool and all but… My brother's lab is much bigger and a lot more… gothic."
"Well, Lala you've always been a little dark."
"True… so where's your brother?"
"Over there, watch this."
DeeDee quietly snuck behind Dexter as he worked on dangerous chemicals, she came closer to him and suddenly
"HI DEXTER!" DeeDee shouted in Dexter's ear
*KA-BOOOOOM*
The chemicals Dexter was mixing caused a huge explosion, right in Dexter's face… as the smoke cleared Dexter coughed, DeeDee laughed and Olga just stared
"DeeDee!" Olga called out "What were you thinking?"
"I'm thinking it would be funny." DeeDee answered "AND IT WAS AH HA HA HA HA HA!"
"Actually DeeDee doesn't think at all." Dexter explained
"She could've killed you!" Olga stated
"And how is that my problem?" DeeDee smugly asked forcing Olga to turn back to Dexter as DeeDee walked away "What ever."
"Is she really this stupid or is she just being mean?"
"Honestly… I can't tell the difference sometimes." Dexter answered
"Ooh… What does this button do?" DeeDee asked as she readied her finger to push a big red button labeled Danger
"DUCK AND COVER!" Dexter yelled as he grabbed Olga and hid behind a machine as a rocket rose up from the floor
*ROOOOOAR*
"Ooh Pretty!" DeeDee said as the rocket took off "Oh well… ha ha ha ha ha ee ha ha ha ha ha!"
"(Sigh) So much for my trip to Jupiter." Dexter moaned as DeeDee continued laughing and dancing destroying everything in sight
*BING BANG BOOM*
"UGH!" Dexter moaned some more
"Oh that's all?" DeeDee asked looking at all of her destruction "Coming Lala?"
"Um… I'll come later DeeDee." Olga stated
"Hmm…Okay… bye Dexter!"
As DeeDee left all Olga could do was shake her head,she then turned her head and saw Dexter working and fixing his machines
"Um… Dexter?" Olga asked
"What?" Dexter asked with frustration
"Just looking at the loser who has to deal with an idiot all the time…How do you put up with DeeDee?"
"I don't… so what do you want?"
"How about… a talk?
"A talk?"
"Um… Duh."
"Why not talk to DeeDee? She's your friend not me."
"So… do you have any friends Dexter?"
"I had one… his name was Doug, he moved away… what about you?"
"Just DeeDee."
"HUH? Just DeeDee?"
"Yeah…"
"I figured a girl like you would be popular."
"Well, I'm not… I'd rather be alone… unless I need my brother for something."
"So, who exactly is your brother anyway?"
"A super nerd like you."
"Oh… hmm… Even though you're friends with DeeDee, you sure don't act like any of her other friends."
"Huh… You actually think DeeDee only make friends with people who are just like her?"
"Have you met Mimi and LeeLee?"
"…Touché."
"… I would recommend that you desist helping me, this is very delicate yet dangerous laboratory equipment."
"Humph… if you wanted me to leave, you didn't have to be so rude."
"W-wait… sorry, I'm just so use to DeeDee not listening at all… ever…. There are times where I have to scream at the top of my lungs just for her to hear me."
"(sigh) fine…"
Olga watched Dexter as he worked his magic rebuilding some machines in mere minutes what took DeeDee seconds to destroy. Olga decided to look around the lab when she came to a strange machine and inside the middle was what looked like a glowing Green atom
"Whoa!" Olga said in awe "What is that?"
"Oh that?" Dexter said as he appeared "That's my Neurotomic Protocore, It's a new source of power I invented."
"How in the world did you make it?"
"It was an accident really, I don't think I could ever make another one."
"Oh… It sure is pretty."
"KIDS, DINNER TIME!" Mrs. McPherson called
"Last one there's a rotten egg!" DeeDee sang "Last one there's a rotten egg!"
"So… Ready to eat?" Dexter asked olga
"Yeah, I guess."
The two left the lab and out of Dexter's room
"Oh, one more thing." Dexter stated before going down stairs "Don't tell my parents about my lab."
"Yeah sure."
"HA HA HA HA HA You're a rotten egg!" DeeDee sang as the two kids walked in
"Well Olga, any word on your parents?" Mr. McPherson asked
"They didn't mind me staying." Olga gloomily stated
"Okay, eat up kids." Mrs. McPherson stated as she served their dinner
The family and their guest ate every bite, except for DeeDee who couldn't help but stare at her broccoli
"Dexter, could you help me get the drinks while I get desert." Mrs. McPherson asked
"(sigh) Fine." Dexter whines as he gets up
DeeDee looked around seeing her father reading his news paper and her friend finishing her dinner
"Hey Lala, watch this!" DeeDee said getting her friends attention and moving her broccoli over to Dexter's plate
"Okay kids time for dessert!" Mrs. McPherson spoke up as she set down a chocolate cake
"But Mom, Dexter didn't eat his broccoli." DeeDee stated pointing to her piece of broccoli that she put on Dexter's plate
"What are you talking about…" Dexter started then paused as he looked on his plate to see that DeeDee was right
"Dexter, you know better than that!" Mrs. McPherson scolded
"But Mom I…"
"No buts young man, since you didn't eat your veggies like you're supposed to you can go to your room… NOW!"
Dexter did as he was told as his Mom served her cake to everyone else, including DeeDee
"DeeDee, why did you do that?" Olga whispered
"Just having some fun." DeeDee teased
"That wasn't cool."
"Oh buck up Lala, we got cake!"
"By cheating you brother out of his piece."
"So what… go ahead tell on Mom, she's not going to do anything."
"Maybe I will."
Olga left the table without eating her piece of cake and walked over to the kitchen
"Mrs. McPherson?" Olga called out getting the mom's attention
"Yes sweetie?" Mrs. McPherson responded
"Dexter ate his broccoli, DeeDee put her's on his plate and lied to get cake."
"Oh it's nice of you to lie for Dexter, but he still has to learn."
"But I'm not lying ma'am."
"Now now dear, go eat your cake."
"… Can I take it upstairs to DeeDee's room?"
"Sure dear."
"Thank you."
And with that Olga left the kitchen grabbed her cake and went up stairs, but instead of going to DeeDee's room she went to Dexter's
*Knock Knock Knock*
"Go away." Dexter spoke through the door
"Hey dork it's me." Olga answered "Open the door."
Dexter did as he was told and opened the door to see Olga with a piece of cake
"Here…" Olga stated holding the cake in front of Dexter
"But isn't that your slice?" Dexter asked
"Just take it Dummy."
"Okay, okay sheesh… should I cut it in half?"
"Nah… I'm kind of on a diet."
"Okay… you don't look like you need it, but thanks."
Dexter received Olga's cake not noticing Olga blushing at Dexter's remark. The two entered the room and sat down on Dexter's Bed
"I still can't believe DeeDee did that to you." Olga spoke up
"Did what?" Dexter asked
"The broccoli on your plate was actually hers."
"(Moan) Why am I not surprised?"
"She's done that before?"
"All the time."
"Don't you tell on her?"
"Of course, but no matter what she wins. Everything that comes out of my mouth is a lie but everything that comes out of her mouth is true."
"Oh…"
"Bet it's nothing like that at your house."
"You'd be wrong."
"Huh?"
"Even though my brother and I have nothing in common with our parents or each other, it's like I don't exist."
"How so?"
"One time Dad was planning a family out doors trip, I was so excited to go camping in the woods with nothing to distract me… but then the day came and they left without me leaving me home alone for days."
"What? No way!"
"Good thing Mom left some money so I could buy take out. It was fun… but I was terrified. When they came home they told me that they simply forgot about me and laughed… I hate them… I hate people who are always happy because of them."
"I… I'm sorry to hear that."
"… What ever… So why don't you get back at DeeDee or something?"
"Because then she'll tell on me and I'll get punished… again."
"Let me guess, if she does something to you, you'll tell your parents and they won't believe you."
"Bingo."
'Hmm… Dexter's in the same predicament as me with my family… oh well, at least I'll get to have some fun.'
The Next day, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and all the neighbors walked out with coffee in their hands as they smiled and waved to each other
"Ugh, I think I'm going to be sick." Olga complained
*Knock Knock Knock*
"Olga, can you get that?" DeeDee asked as she did her hair
"Fine." Olga said as she got up to answer DeeDee's door "Yes? Oh!"
"Breakfast is ready." Dexter said as he turned away
"Okay, I'll be down in a few minutes." DeeDee called as she prepared her pig tails
"Give me a minute too." Olga explained as she went into the bathroom "Lets see… AH HA!"
Olga notices a bucket for leaks on the side and filled it with water, she then ran to DeeDee's door, seeing that the top was too high for her she stopped and thought when suddenly
"Olga?" Dexter said surprising her "Breakfast is getting cold what are you doing?"
"Pulling a prank DeeDee." Olga answered "Give me a lift will ya."
"No way, if you're doing what I think you're doing you can for get it."
"Oh come on it'll be fun, besides if DeeDee puts the blame on you I'll tell your parents it was me okay."
"But… why would you do that for me?"
"No reason, now are you gonna help or not?"
"Fine." Dexter whined as he lifted Olga up helping her balancing the bucket on the door
"Good lets hide!" Olga stated as she grabbed Dexter and ran towards the hall where they spied on DeeDee's door
"KIDS BREAKFAST!" The mom called
"Coming!" DeeDee called back as she opens the door
*KER-SPLASH*
"AHH!" DeeDee screamed as the bucket covered her head signaling Dexter and Olga to run while her vision was impaired
"That… was… AWESOME!" Dexter said with an ecstatic tone in his voice
"You think that was cool?" Olga said as they sat down "Watch this!"
DeeDee entered the kitchen where she was completely soaked
"DeeDee, what happened to you?" the Mom asked as she served her eggs
"Dexter put a bucket of water on my door." DeeDee explained
"I did not!" Dexter objected
"Well young man if that's the way you're going to play, you can pour yourself a bowl of cereal." Mrs. McPherson explained as she threw Dexter's bacon and eggs in the trash
"But Mrs. McPherson I was the one who but the bucket there." Olga confessed "DeeDee was taking forever so I played a prank."
"That's sweet that you would pretend to confess for my son, but he still has to learn."
"That's right." DeeDee smugly stated "Dexter needs to learn to be nice to me so he can… SPIDER AAAHH!"
DeeDee panicked as she fell to the floor now covered in eggs
"DeeDee are you okay?" Mrs. McPherson asked
"There was a huge spider on my plate mom!" DeeDee panicked
"I got it." Dexter said as he grabbed the "spider" and threw it out the window
"See DeeDee the spider's gone, now get back in your chair while I make you more eggs… Dexter, you still need to eat now make something."
"Yeah, yeah."
'Unbelievable!' Olga thought to herself 'Why does DeeDee get all this special treatment?'
Olga worried as everyone ate their bacon and eggs… except for Dexter, he just had a bowl of "O" shaped cereal. The family finished their meal and Dexter left to go outside with Olga, there Dexter went by the window where he threw away the spider.
"Here's your toy spider Olga." Dexter stated as he gave Olga back her prank toy
"Thanks Dexter." Olga said as she puts the toy away "I can't believe how your parents treat DeeDee."
"You'll get used to it."
"Get used to it my butt!"
"Listen, I want to be a great scientist when I grow up."
"So?"
"Unless I magically become a sports hero or a cook, mom and dad will not care."
"Wow…Dang… listen, why don't you pull the next prank?"
"What? No Way!"
"Come on Dexter, what ever you do won't make your parents change their minds about you right?"
"Well, okay… you know there is this one prank I saw that I always wanted to pull."
Later in DeeDee's room DeeDee changed into her ballerina clothes and dried off her hair
"I can't believe Dexter would pull a prank on me like that." DeeDee pouted "But why would Lala back him up like that… wait does she…? NAH it couldn't be… could it?"
DeeDee ran down the stairs where her mother washed the dishes
"Mom I'm going out." DeeDee called
"Okay dear!" Mrs. McPherson stated
*Ding Dong*
"DeeDee could you get that?" the Mom ordered
"Okay!" DeeDee answered as she opened the door "Hello?…huh no one here… huh?"
DeeDee looked down only to see what looked like a small fire ball right by her feet
"AHH FIRE!" DeeDee panicked as she stomped the fire out "Take that fire… huh (Sniff sniff) EEWW I GOT DOGGY POO ON MY SHOES… WAAAHHH!"
Suddenly Dexter and Olga appeared by the side of the house after seeing everything, where they rolled on the floor laughing out loud
"BWA HA HA DID YOU SEE THE WAY SHE JUMPED?" Dexter bawled
"AH HA HA THAT WAS SO FUNNY HA HA HA!" Olga followed
"(Catching his breath) oh man, that felt good."
"Yeah, it did."
"Well… you better get going."
"Huh… What do you mean?"
"Once DeeDee cleans her shoes she's walking you home right?"
"Yeah but."
"Be honest do you really want to hang out with a nerd like me?"
"Well I… I…"
Olga was confused, she didn't know what to say. She was with a boy she grew fond of and now she had to leave, not knowing when she was going to see him again.
"Umm… Dexter wait!" Olga spoke up
"Yeah?" Dexter responded
"Umm… Since you're so smart, I was wondering if you could tutor me in math and uh… maybe science… I would like to avoid summer school this year."
"Uh… sure why not that sounds adequate, but won't your parents oppose?"
"Nah… they won't mind."
"Okay then, just let me know in advanced okay."
"Great!"
"Looks like DeeDee's coming back down, take care Olga."
"Okay… oh and Dexter."
"Yes?"
"Call me Lala Vava."
"Huh… your stage name?"
"Um… yeah… um…"
"Okay, I will… I'll see you next time… Lala!"
Dexter walked away and Olga looked on with an unseen blush. As time passed DeeDee was still upset that she had to change her shoes so she can walk Olga home.
"Well we're here." DeeDee proclaimed
"Thanks DeeDee." Olga complied as she grabbed her keys "See you at school."
"Okay, bye Lala!" DeeDee said as she walked away
"Mom, Dad, Susan?" Olga called out "I'm home!"
"Lala, your home!" Olga's older brother Susan Astronominov AKA Mandark appeared as he walked down the stairs "So where were you?"
"At a friends house… so where are mom and dad?"
"Out again."
"(Sigh) I just hope they remember to bring dinner."
"Don't worry they will."
"I mean for me."
"Oh, don't worry I'll get something for you."
"Thanks… So… still thinking of ways to beat that other nerd friend of yours? You know, what's his name."
"He's not my friend and I will beat him, just watch."
"What ever, I'm going to my room."
"Alright see you later."
"Yeah, you too."
Olga walked up the stairs to her room where she sat on her bed and took out her phone to look at a secret picture of Dexter she took without notice. She blushed as thoughts of spending time with him filled her mind.
"See you soon." Olga cooed to herself "Dexter."
Time has passed
Olga managed to pay DeeDee and Dexter multiple visits. While she spent time with DeeDee doing girl thing she also spent time with Dexter pranking her and watching his inventions… that was until one Friday…
"You know, it's actually nice to have someone else in the lab with me." Dexter explained to Olga "Especially someone who doesn't go around destroying everything I make."
"Oh come on!." Olga sarcastically teased "DeeDee's not that destructive…. well maybe a little destructive… well not all the time but… oh, who am I kidding?"
"Ha ha ha… (sigh) I gotta say, it's been fun having you visit Lala."
"You really think I'm fun?"
"Yeah, despite you being little Miss Queen of Darkness… Yeah."
"Oh ha ha ha, very funny.(Sarcasm)"
"But seriously, why would you want to hang out with someone like me?"
"Huh… well… I guess because we… connect."
"Come again?"
"I mean… I told you about my family and how they ignore me right?"
"Yeah… so… You need more tutoring?"
"Actually, I want to tell you something…"
"Yeah, what?"
"The truth is…"
"DEXTER!" Dexter's mother called
"Sorry Lala, let me see what mom wants first." Dexter explained as he and Olga walked out the lab and too his door to talk to his mother "Yes Mom?"
"Dexter, your sister is still not back from the store. So I need you to walk Olga home, got it young man?"
"Yeah, yeah I'll take her."
"Good boy."
Mrs. McPherson left and Dexter walked over to his new friend
"So, Lala?" Dexter spoke "Is there something you wanted to tell me first?"
"Um… later." Olga explained as she got ready
Sometime passed as Olga and Dexter walked together towards Olga's house. Olga wanted to tell Dexter her feelings but was too nervous due to there being people outside with them.
"Is something wrong Lala?" Dexter asked
"Huh, no nothing's wrong." Olga explained "So… be honest, do you mind me visiting you and your sister?"
"Not at all, in fact I think you should come more often. It's not like you really need any tutoring any way."
"You knew?"
"Not at first."
"Her we are!"
Olga and Dexter came by the door and rang the bell.
"My brother's home." Olga explained "Maybe you two can be friends."
"Yeah maybe." Dexter nervously said as the door opened
"Oh Olga, you're back." Mandark spoke as he opened the door "And you're with…"
"Susan, this is my friend Dexter." Olga introduced "Dexter, this is my brother Susan."
"DAAAHH!" Both boys screamed
"MANDARK, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Dexter asked in shock
"I LIVE HERE YOU IDIOT!" Mandark explained
"You two know each other?" Olga asked with surprise
"DO WE? This is the little dork I told you about."
"Well last I checked you started it Susan."
"Mandark's your brother?" Dexter said still not over the shock "Why didn't you tell me tha… wait… his real name is… Susan?"
"Yeah, it's a long story."
"Pu… B-but… SUSAN… Your name is Susan? AH HA HA HA HA"
"THAT'S IT!" Mandrake screamed as he pushed a button making an assault tank appear
*CRASH*
Mandark then rode in the tank after it crashed out of the garage and pointed its cannon right at Dexter
"DIE DEXTER!" Mandark said as he prepared to fire
"AAAAAHHH!" Dexter screamed as he ran for his life
"HA HAHA, HA HAHA HAHA!"
"Oh no!" Olga said as she looked on with worry and fear unsure of what to do
Later at Dexter's house
"It sure is late." Mrs. McPherson spoke "I wonder where's Dexter."
*Ring Ring… Ring Ring*
"Hello?" Dexter's Mom said as she picked up the phone
"Hi Mom." Dexter said on the other side
"Dexter?"
"Yeah, something came up, I'm going to be late."
"Young man, where are you?"
"Um… would you believe me if I told you I was in Topeka, Kansas."
"Well young man you're just going to have to take a bus."
"Okay Mom."
"Okay dear, bye!"
*CLICK*
"Oh that boy." Mrs. McPherson told herself until she realized "TOPEKA? What in the world is Dexter doing in Topeka?"
Next Monday after School
Olga had home work to do and she couldn't think of another perfect excuse to see Dexter again. Olga couldn't help but think about how Dexter might react when she tells him how she feels
"Lala, over here." DeeDee called getting her friend's attention
"Hi DeeDee, hi Dexter." Olga cheerfully called out
"Oh… hi Lala." Dexter said with gloom and doom
"What's wrong Dexter?"
"I'll leave you two alone for a minute." DeeDee said as she snuck away
"Huh?"
"Well… Happy Early Birthday Lala." Dexter said as he handed a small flat box wrapped in paper "I know it's a month away but I figured… well."
"Uh…" Olga was confused as she unwrapped her present "(GASP) The new Dethklok album, Dethalbum III! Thank you so much Dexter!… But why are you giving me this now?"
"Well Lala… It's because…"
"What?"
"Lala… we can't be friends anymore."
Time seems to have stopped for Olga as she looked on at horror at Dexter's sad yet serious face, she then felt a pain in her chest, it was as if Dexter himself reached in and pulled her heart out.
"Dexter… b-but why?" Olga said as her tears began to well up
"I'm pretty sure, your brother has told you." Dexter explained "We're enemies and will always be enemies and… the last thing either of us wants is for you to get hurt… I-I'm sorry Lala… good bye."
Lala was speechless as Dexter turned away and walked home, Olga was stunned at what just transpired until her brother walked up to her.
"Well Lala, look on the bright side." Mandark smugly said "You wont ever be connected to that loser again."
*BAM*
Olga now filled with anger looked down on her brother who she had just punched in the face
"I hate you." Olga said as her voice rose "I HATE YOU!"
Olga ran home with tears in her eyes, she ran up to her room where she buried her head in her pillows
"DEXTER, SUSAN (Sniff)" Olga cried as her tears and feelings flowed out her face "YOU'RE BOTH IDIOTS! WAAAHH!"
Part 2
Present Day at the Utonium's World Lab
"Are these the spices you need Mrs. McPherson?" Blossom asked in the kitchen
"That's right dear." Dexter's mom answered "You're not a bad cook."
"Thank you, I try."
"How's Dinner looking?" Dexter said as he entered the room "We're starving here!"
"Not now Dexter, you know better than to be impatient. Now be a good boy and let the women work."
"Alright, alright… But…"
"Um… Son?" Dexter's Father nervously called "Um… could you help me with something?"
"Let me guess, you were trying to clean the car again right Dad?"
"Uh… heh heh."
"(Sigh) Fine."
And with that Dexter left with his father to clean/fix the car
"It's nice to see Dexter get along with his parents." Bubbles stated
"Yeah and it's also nice to see Ms. Blossom and Mrs. McPherson get along too." Bunny explained
"At least its quiet around here." Buttercup spoke
"We've been fighting against so many monsters and villains, I think It's nice to have a break." Kasey said "Right Bullet?"
"Cheep!" Bullet, Kasey's squirrel doll agreed
*Knock Knock Knock*
"I'll get it!" Bubbles explained as she went to get the door
"Eek!" Kasey said as she hid out of sight
"You really need to get over your fear of DeeDee Kasey." Buttercup teased
"Come on Buttercup leave her alone." Bunny said trying not to laugh
"Hello." Bubbles spoke as she opened the door to reveal DeeDee with friends "Oh hi DeeDee, Lala and… Mandark?"
"Hi Bubbles!" DeeDee called out
"Hey Bubbles!" Lala followed
"Yeah… hi er whatever." Mandark stated lowly
"Come in." Bubbles greeted "Have a seat."
"Thanks!" DeeDee said as the three guest came in
"Mandark?" Buttercup growled "What are you doing here?"
"You ask like I have a choice." Mandark stated as Olga hit him in the stomach with her elbow "I mean… I just came to say hi to Olga's friends
"Um… okay, come in I'll get something to drink." Bunny said happy to oblige
"Thanks Bunny." Olga said as she looked around "So how is everything?"
"It's cool." Buttercup explained "Dexter's parents are here and he's outside helping his father fix the car… again."
"Oh… um… can I take a look around?"
"Sure, just don't get lost."
And with that Olga left the room to look around the lab
"What's with Her?" Buttercup asked
"She's been down ever since she found out she was coming to visit." Mandark explained
As Olga walked around the kids all sat down to talk
Meanwhile in Dr. X's air ship
Mojo Jojo and Dr. X were discussing plans for their next attack, but Mojo grew more and more antsy as he couldn't help but wonder about Dr. X's source of power, a block of ice with something frozen inside.
"So Mojo, tell me." Dr. X spoke "What's on your mind?"
"Hmm… your ice block or more precisely what's inside of it." Mojo began "How in the world did you obtain it?"
"Hmm… well you see Mojo, as a high ranking member of the Science of Tomorrow Institute I have access to many researches that not even our governments are aware of… You see I have a team that has been researching astronomical anomalies."
"Hmm?"
"You see according to our research the contents of the ice originated from Earth, it became trapped in the ice and launched into space. Fortunately its path was disrupted by another planets gravity and a slingshot effect took place bringing it in orbit by Mars, where my robot team collected it and I have been examining it ever since and developed the artificial Z-rays with it."
"I see… I think you're making a mistake."
"So… you did see what's inside of it."
"And let me just say that you're better off getting rid of it as soon as you're done."
"I'll consider your concern Mojo… unless you can't provide me with a more potent power source."
"Hmm… As a matter of fact, our young friend Dexter has with him a power source that will settle even your appetite for power."
"Tell me."
"Months ago my former partner and I tricked Dexter's sister into bringing an Atom with an immeasurable amount of power."
"You mean… The Neurotomic Protocore?"
"You know of it?"
"If I had know Dexter had the core with him sooner, I would have destroyed him as soon as I got here."
"Dr. X?" Bell appeared in her normal form
"Ah Bell, how's my daughter?" Dr. X cooed
"Humph."
"Listen, I want you and Mojo Jr. to steal something for me."
Dr. X explained the situation to Bell and Mojo just looked on with worry for the future.
Later back at the lab
Olga stumbled into a room where Dexter put all his secret experiment, she walked around the room looking at all the things he had accomplished while they were separated. Suddenly she saw it, a round container with the words Top Secret on it and that's when she remembered
"Is that the core thingy?" Olga asked herself "Dexter once said he loved this thing more than any thing… I guess that was before Blossom… that's why it's back here… I guess that's what the core and me have in common… when Dexter finds something or someone he loves more, he forgets it… it's not fair…"
"Olga?" Blossom said grabbing her attention
"OH B-Blossom!"
"What are you doing here? You were taking so long everyone became worried."
"Oh I was just looking around the lab and then I noticed Dexter's Core."
"Yeah he figured it would be safe in here, something about trees and a forest I think."
"Oh you mean hiding a tree in a forest."
"That's right… so Lala, do you want to talk?"
"No, that's okay… can I follow you back to the lab?"
"Okay."
As Olga closed the core's case and followed Blossom to the lab, she couldn't help but look on at Dexter's girlfriend.
'Look at her.' Olga thought with jealousy 'She's pretty, she's smart, she has friends and… Dexter likes her… Is it because she's a super hero? Maybe if I had powers then…'
*Boom*
"HUH, What was that?" Olga asked
"It sounded like it came from the storage room." Blossom noted "Come on!"
Blossom and Olga ran back to the room and saw two familiar figures
"AH HA Here it is!" Mojo Jr. said as he revealed the Neurotomic Protocore
"Good!" Bell in her White PowerPuff form stated "Now lets get out of here before…"
"BELL!" Blossom called out as she and Olga entered the room "What are you doing here?"
"Well if you must know, Mojo explained to Dr. X about Dexter's little core thingy."
"We were having a hard time pinpointing it when some idiot opened the case allowing my Neuro locator to find it. But now it's time to test our newest invention."
Mojo Jr pulled out what seemed to be a laser gun and pointed it at what looked like a old fashioned clock
"Now to test out my new Black Z-Ray Laser." Mojo Jr. sneered
"The what?" Blossom and Olga asked
"This baby fires artificial Black Z-Rays at anything I want Turning it into a Monster… LIKE THIS FOR EXAMPLE!"
*ZAP*
Mojo Jr. fired the weapon and the Clock transformed into a Monster Clock with a… very bad French accent
"Oh ho ho ho Bonjour Madame!" The clock monster spoke twirling his mustache that was once his hands with his new hands
"Alright you." Mojo Jr. ordered "Destroy those two!"
"I refuse!"
"What? But I created you and you will obey me!"
"Now you listen here my simian friend. I am Monsieur TickTock and I must ask why should I destroy such lovey young ladies?"
"Ugh, so much for that invention." Bell complained
"Olga lets make a break for it while they're distracted." Blossom explained
"Wait, lets take the core." Olga suggested "It's what they're after right?"
Olga grabbed the core out of it's casing and began running with Blossom
"Uh excuse me." Bell said getting their attention
"What?" Mojo yelled
"Oui Madame?" Monsieur TickTock politely asked
"What time is it?" Bell asked
"It's 10:42 am why?"
"Actually, I think it's time to do your job because THEY'RE GETTING AWAY!"
The villains gave chase to the girls as they ran through the lab
"Blossom, they're gaining!" Olga pointed out
"I know, I'm calling my friends now!" Blossom said as she grabbed her compact and called the others
"STOP THEM!" Mojo Jr. ordered
"Very vell, TIME FREEZE!" Monsieur TickTock spoke as the girls suddenly froze in place
*FLASH*
"Whoa!" Mojo Jr and Bell said in shock
"Good job!" Mojo jr. said "I guess you're not so useless after all."
"Whatever, just grab the core and lets go." Bell explained
"And why should I do what you say?" Monsieur TickTock complained
"Don't get snippy with us."
"That's right, you listen to us you overgrown pocket watch." Mojo Jr. teased
"THAT'S IT, HAVE AT YOU!" Monsieur Ticktock yelled as he, Bell and Mojo Jr. struggled in a cartoony cloud
As the villains fought each other Mojo Jr's gun flew out and landed and FIRED
*ZAP*
Hitting Olga in the back as she held onto the core in her frozen state
"ENOUGH, TIME FREEZE!" Monsieur TickTock yelled freezing Bell and Mojo Jr. in place "AH HA HA HA HA I have the power over time itself and soon I shall tale over… ZA WORUDO AH HA HA HA HA!"
"Wanna bet!" Powered Buttercup said as she readied her hammer "Sonic Swing!"
"Bursting Bubbles!" Rolling Bubbles called out afterward
"Kendama Cannon!" Starry Bunny followed
"Bullet Ball: Soccer Goal Kick!" Burning Bloom finished
*Bing Bang Boom*
"Ugh… Sock le blu!" Monsieur TickTock said as he fell to the floor unconscious
"Good job girls." Professor Utonium said as he shined his lights on the clock turning it back to normal
"Blossom, Lala… are you okay?" Bubbles said as she looked on at her frozen friends "Guys, they're not moving."
"Is everyone okay?" Dexter said as he came in after hearing the commotion
"Ms. Blossom and Lala are frozen in place." Bunny explained causing Dexter to scan them
"Look who else is frozen." Buttercup said pointing at Bell and Mojo Jr.
"What do we do?" Bloom asked with worry
"Cheep." Bullet followed
"Don't worry." Dexter said with reassurance "According to my calculations the effects should wear off them right about…"
*Crash*
"Now…" Dexter finished with Blossom and Dexter on top of him
"Huh, what happened?" Blossom asked as she and Olga got up "Lala are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Olga stated until she looked at her hands "Huh that's weird, where's the core?"
"The core?" Dexter asked until her realized "MY NEUROTOMIC PROTOCORE?"
"Yeah, these two were after it so I took it and ran."
"It's true." Blossom reassured "We were running then the next thing we knew you all appeared."
"(Sigh) At least you two are safe." Dexter spoke up
"You're not upset about your core?" Olga asked
"Of course I am, I've lost it before and I can get it back."
"OLGA!" Mandark yelled as he ran to the group "What happened? Did Dork-ster do something?"
"No, he didn't." Olga explained
"Come on, we're leaving!"
"BUT!" Olga objected as Mandark pulled Olga away and out of the building
"Man, Mandark can be such a jerk." Buttercup stated and everyone agreed
"So what about these two?" Bunny asked pointing to Bell and Mojo Jr. who were still frozen
"Hold on." Dexter said as he grabbed the strange looking gun from the floor "Okay, 3…2…1…"
*CRASH*
Dexter managed to get out of the way as the two villains crashed into each other
"OW." Bell said as she looked up to see the PowerPuff Girls and Dexter
"W-what the?" Mojo Jr. asked as he looked on at the situation "I think we better run."
"But… what about the core?"
"We'll get it another time, LETS GO!"
And with that Bell caused the room to *Flash* and the two disappeared
"Should we go after them?" Bubbles asked
"Nah, let them go." Buttercup answered
"Sorry about your core Dexter." Bunny apologized
"Don't worry about it, I came prepared." Dexter explained "I already built a special tracker for just such an emergency, I don't want what happened last time to happen again."
"No wonder you're so calm Dexter." Blossom pointed out
"Are you kidding? I'm barely holding it together… I WANT MY CORE BACK WAAAAAH!"
"Oh Dexter tee hee!"
Later at the Hotel room that Olga and Mandark were staying in
"I can't believe Dexter put you in danger." Mandark explained
"Dexter didn't put me in danger you dolt!" Olga complained
"I'm going to work, you stay here."
"Susan wait!"
Mandark left and locked the door, with no way to leave Olga banged on the door and yelled at her brother. Time went by and Olga was beside herself with frustration
"My brother… it's my brother's fault." Olga growled to herself "I can't be next to Dexter because of him… and now… Blossom, she's my friend but… what does she have that I don't?… I guess she's prettier… nicer… and… argh!"
Suddenly Olga's head began aching and she felt drained
"Oh my head… ooh… my-my… MY HAND!" Olga looked on in horror as it seemed that her hand began to crack and break as green light began pouring out "AHH!"
Olga ran into the bathroom as she looked in the mirror to see that her skin was cracking and reveling green light all over her body
"What's happening to me?… S-Somebody… HELP ME!" Olga screamed as a gigantic flash of light engulfed the whole apartment "AAAAAHHH!"
*FLASH*
"Ooh… what happened… huh?" Olga picked herself up from the floor and looked at the mirror again "AAAAAHHHHH!"
Later back at the Lab
"Good night Dexter." Ken said as he left in his pajamas "I hope you find your core."
"Thanks Ken." Dexter said as he pat the boy on his head "Get some rest okay."
"Okay."
And with that Ken left leaving Dexter to his work.
"Need any help Dexter?" Computress Dexter's robot assistant asked
"Nah, I'm good." Dexter smiled "Maybe a drink of hot chocolate to calm my nerves though."
"As you wish." Computress was about to leave the room when suddenly her systems picked up an anomaly "Dexter, my scanners are picking up your neurotomic protocore."
"WHAT? WHERE?"
"It's… right outside."
Dexter and Computress looked out their window and saw the core seemingly flying in the air
"Computress, quick outside!" Dexter commanded
The Genius and robot ran outside as quickly as they could to get a closer look at the core as it floated in the air
"What a strange phenomenon?" Dexter stated in awe
"How so Dexter?" Computress asked
"If I didn't know better, I'd say that my core has become… sentient."
"DEXTER!" A voice called out from the core
"AHH W-WHAT THE?" Dexter said as he fell on to his backside
the core suddenly floated down towards Dexter and stood in front of him and Computress
"Dexter… I believe that your core is… Bigger." Computress analyzed
"Yeah, but…" Dexter began to speak as he got up
"Dexter… Help me!" The voice came again as the core's light began to fade
"W-who are you?" Dexter asked as the core began to change
The core began to uncurl in front of Dexter's eyes and Computress' Scanners, it was now in the shape of a glowing green human with blank eyes, long black hair and a small feminine frame, in the middle of her chest was a large lone white dot and constantly circling around her in a perpetual motion were two almost basket ball sized electrons
"Dexter… it's me…" The scared figure explained in a familiar voice "What's happened to me?"
"I… I don't believe it, but…" Dexter spoke in shock "Lala… you've become my Neurotomic Protocore!
"W-what?"
"Lala… You're pure energy!"
The group all stood silent as Olga looked to her new glowing green form
"Dexter… am I… A MONSTER?"

Author's Notes: I'm done apologizing, I'm just going to say it… I want to finish this story but… life is getting to me and with no drive or motivation left in me, I just can't seem to finish what I want to finish. Well, that's enough of my problems on with the story's notes. This is my take on Lala meeting Dexter before meeting Blossom. It's funny how a character who only appeared in one episode can leave such an impact on the fandom. Let's face it, the staff of the original cartoon may have forgotten about Mandark's estranged sister but we haven't. So I decided to make it so that WindBear and OceanBird (Olga and Susan's parents) just seem to forget about her like she doesn't exist and it drove her to be all dark and broody. I can't help but wonder what Olga would be like if she kept appearing in the show, would she have fallen in love with Dexter like so many people suspected? Who knows? Anyway this chapter was turning out to be WAAAAAY too long so I decided to make it into a two parter. Olga's new form is based on a picture I put on Deviant art entitled "The Wrath Of Lala-Vava" I decided to use that as a chapter focusing on Lala. You'll see what happens next time… hopefully I won't go "Oh the heck with it" and quit. I don't want to really… I hope to see you soon… maybe… By the way, did you catch my Jojo's Bizarre Adventure reference.
News: Is it just me or is Cartoon Network becoming awesome again? First we hear about the original PPG's reboot (while this may kill PPGZ's chances of coming to America, you never know they may put it on Boomerang while the new PPG plays on CN) then we hear about the Ben 10 Reboot. Granted that Ben 10's story was getting way out of hand, convoluted and inconsistent with all it's different iterations, maybe a reboot was in order. BUT NOW… apparently Adult Swim has rehired Genndy Tartakovski and is bringing back… SAMURAI JACK! I'M NOT JOKING A WHOLE NEW SEASON OF POSSIBLY ONE OF THE BEST CARTOON NETWORK ORIGINALS WITH THE ORIGINAL CREATOR/PRODUCER ON BOARD. Okay okay Calm down… I hope it's as epic as I remember it… and who knows if SJ becomes awesome maybe… JUST maybe we can also get our wish of Mr. Tartakovski (Deep Breath) finishing Symbionic TITAN. (Mind… BLOWN) Okay maybe I'm being too optimistic but… LET ME DREAM DANG IT! Any who I'm still waiting for that daytime Anime Block Cartoon Network! What are you looking forward to? Me, I just want CN to be awesome again. Thank you Ms. Miller!
