Warning: Corny pick-up lines everywhere.

52) A Dull Class

Tsubaki sat up straight in her seat, a small smile on her face but the sheer boredom in her eyes were a dead give away to how she really felt. She listened to Stein drone on about something he had gone over only a few days ago and she was too nice to inform the scientist of that. The rest of the class didn't seem to notice and Maka was absent with Soul, they were on a mission and would not be back till tomorrow. Tsubaki looked over at her meister and saw that he was struggling to keep his eyes open. Black-Star pulled out a sheet of notebook paper and wrote on it.

'He taught this two days ago'

Tsubaki could never get over the fact that Black-Star always underlined everything he wrote, but she was too shocked too see that Black-Star knew about the repeated lesson plan. The girl looked at Stein and saw the man had his back turned toward them. Tsubaki grabbed her pencil and wrote on the paper as well.

'I know. I don't want to tell him, do you?'

Tsubaki watched as Black-Star read her normal handwriting and she got a response a moment later.

'I'm good, but I'm bored! ! !'

'Agreed.'

'I bet I can beat you in a horrible pick-up line off'

'Bring it.'

The teens froze when Tsubaki had been asked a question and she responded easily, recalling that he had asked the same question to Maka two days ago.

'If you were a steak, you'd be well done'

Tsubaki held back a small laugh and wrote down her own line.

'Do you have a Band-Aid? Cause I just scraped my knee falling for you'

Black-Star wasn't as good as hiding his laugh but Stein didn't notice. Apparently Kid heard them cause the shinigami took out a piece of paper, wrote on it and pretend to stretch as he handed it to the star behind him.

'What in the world are you doing now?'

Black-Star and Tsubaki read the note and Tsubaki allowed her meister to write a response.

'We're bored so we're having a horrible pick-up line off'

'You're so weird...can I join? This lesson had already been taught and even I'm bored.'

'No problem, go ahead and see if you can beat us'

'Are you a baker? Cause you've got a nice set of buns'

Tsubaki and Black-Star stared at the joke for a moment, not believing that Kid had written it.

'I'm not a photographer, but I can picture you and me together.'

Kid let out a snort, having to shove the paper under the desk when Stein looked at him.

'I seem to have lost my phone number...can I have yours?'

'Do you know what my shirt is made of? Boyfriend material.'

Kid rubbed his nose, showing that he and Tsubaki were winning, the weapon and meister high-fived softly under their desk while waiting for Kid's response.

'Are you made of copper and tellurium? Cause you are CuTe.'

'Shit, did you just get smart on us?'

'So what if I did?'

'I will stop loving you when an apple grows on a mango tree on the 30th of February.'

'Damn Tsubaki'

'I think I'm winning'

'Are those pants from outer space, cause your ass is out of this world'

Kid crumpled the paper and tossed it at Black-Star.

'You're just an asshole, no joke to it'

'Hey, don't frown, You never know who could be falling in love with your smile'

Kid rolled his eyes as he read the creased paper, but he couldn't hold back a smile.

'Forget about Spiderman, Superman and Batman, I'll be your man.'

Black-Star 's jaw dropped, surprised at the comic book hero reference. He was not going to let Kid win this, he didn't let Tsubaki see what he wrote and he started to hand the paper to Kid.

"What are you doing?" Stein's voice made Black-Star freeze, his hand still holding the notebook page between him and Kid. "I hope you were discussing my lesson." The professor took the paper and went back to the front of the room, the class letting out a group 'oh'.

"Sir, you might not want to-" Tsubaki stopped at Stein's stare.

"Let's see here." Stein cleared his throat and read out loud. " I can tell this is between Tsubaki and Black-Star, Black-Star starts off with, 'He taught this two days ago' and Tsubaki responds with 'I know. I don't want to tell him, do you? I'm good, but I'm bored' with three exclamation points, all of them spaced out." The class chuckled. "'Agreed. Bet I could beat you in a horrible pick-up line off' People do that?" Stein asked his students and got shrugs. "'Bring it. If you were a steak you'd be well done.'" Stein let out a sigh when his class laughed. "'Do you have a Band-Aid, cause I scraped my knee falling for you.'" The class 'aw'd. "Looks like Kid joined in by asking 'What in the world are you doing now?' In which Black-Star responds 'We're bored and having a horrible pick-up line off' and Kid states 'You're so weird...can I join? This lesson has already been taught and even I'm bored'." Kid lowered himself in his seat when Stein looked at him. "Black-Star challenges Kid by saying 'No problem, go ahead and see if you can beat us' And the three go back with horrible pick-up lines and the last thing written is..." Stein folded the paper in half. "I will stop loving you when an apple grows on a mango tree on the thirtieth of February." The group of three looked at each other, why did Stein lie? Stein walked up to Kid and handed him the paper. "Enjoy your Saturday." The man said before leaving and continuing his lesson, not caring that he now knew it was repeated. Kid raised an eyebrow and unfolded the paper.

'How about you, me, some chocolate and a Saturday evening all to ourselves?'

*Claps* Yes, just yes. Don't you guys just love me?
