So I decided that I really want to call my readers something. It's not fun just calling you guys 'my readers'. What if I start calling you guys my little Veggies? My vegetable patch...I give up.
I also love the fact I have converted another person into supporting the Kid and Black-Star ship! Yeah! I win!
Request from Neko lady88, someone who I have hurt from my Burned story and she requested a chapter about Kid chopping up some onions and getting some tears from it and she then wants fluff. Everyone loves my fluff and I am perfectly okay with that...you guys are mean when I write serious things. ^-^''
57) Onion Tears
Kid tied the apron around his waist, deciding that he was going to cook since there weren't any good missions for him to do tonight. Liz and Patty took Tsubaki and Maka out on a shopping day. Kid had refused to go, not in the mood to deal with the girls trying to pick between two pairs of shoes that looked almost exactly alike. Sometimes he didn't understand girls. Soul had avoided going on the trip by lying and saying he wasn't feeling well. What the scythe didn't think of Maka having Blair prevent he boy from leaving the house they lived in until tomorrow. Black-Star told the truth and said he would rather work out than sit in a mall and be bored to death. That was over an hour ago. Kid hoped the star wasn't doing anything stupid and got himself hurt...not that he cared or anything.
Kid cleared his throat and rubbed off a small blush from his cheeks and pulled out several vegetable from the fridge. Black-Star didn't care about him, so why should he care about Black-Star? Kid set the vegetables on the counter and pulled out a cutting bored. Kid and Black-Star were friends, nothing more.
"Just friends." Kid said to himself. Why was he trying to convince himself of that, it was obvious. He and Black-Star fought more psychically than Soul and Maka did verbally. They were friends, a very odd kind of friends, but just friends.
Kid took a sharp knife out of a knife holder, a nice thick one that would slice through the vegetables easily. The shinigami grabbed a red pepper and began to easily slice the vegetable into thin strips then quickly turned the strips and diced them into small squares. He used the knife to scrap the pepper off of the board and into a large bowl. Kid was humming without noticing as he took a green pepper and did the same thing to it as he did to it's red sibling. The shinigami sliced and diced several mushrooms, enjoying the sound of the knife hitting the wooden board every time it went through the mushroom. He should cook more often, he actually loved doing so, but Liz wasn't the biggest fans of his meals so she would usually cook something simple for them to eat and Kid didn't want to take the effort to complain.
Kid looked into the bowl and grabbed the rim of it, shaking it so the peppers and mushrooms mixed them together. The shinigami was happy with his mixture, but decided that it needed one more thing before he tossed it into the pot and put the chicken with it. He went over to the fridge and grabbed an onion. Kid loved onions, he loved the way they taste when they were cooked and the many different ways that they could be used. The reaper started to remove the flakey layer off of the onion. Kid also was amused by how the vegetable had layers and how each layer was different than the last. Kind of like people.
"But not Black-Star." Kid muttered to himself. Black-Star seemed to always be the same, there was no other layers with Black-Star. The shinigami shook his head, why was that idiot on his mind again?
Kid finished peeling the onion and he grabbed his knife again. He chopped the onion in half and felt something burn his eyes. Kid remembered that cutting onions usually made you eyes water. He wasn't in the mood to find some gum or get some bread to chew so he figured he could just push through it and chop up the onion quickly. Kid gritted his teeth as his eyes watered horribly as he diced the onion, he sniffed and had to step back. Kid pinched his nose, trying to get the burning sensation to go away and it made his eyes water even more. He stumbled over a chair and stubbed his toe against the wall. Kid let out a curse and more tears came up in his eyes and it looked like as if he was actually crying.
"Hey Kiddo. Tsubaki told me she and the girls are out shopping and Soul's under house arrest, I was wondering if you wanted to...Kiddo?" Black-Star walked into the shinigami's kitchen and saw that Kid was wiping tears out of his eyes. Kid was crying? "Kiddo, are you okay?" Black-Star rushed over to the other boy, grabbing the shinigami's upper arms
"Black-Star, I'm fine, really."
"Then why are you crying?" Black-Star asked. "Do I need to beat someone up?" Kid stopped trying to rub the onion out of his eyes and looked at Black-Star and saw the seriousness in his face. "Tell me who the jackass is and I will make him regret every doing anything to my friend."
"Black-Star?" Kid said, not sure where he was going to say next.
"Just tell me what's wrong. I hate seeing my friends upset." Black-Star rubbed his hands on Kid's shoulder and the shinigami wasn't able to prevent a light blush from crawling up on his cheeks.
"I'm...fine."
"Are you positive?" Black-Star asked, using one hand to wipe away a tear Kid had missed. Kid was shocked, he's never seen this part to Black-Star before. The boy would usually tell the person to suck it up or just ignore it as if it never happened and come back later when he was sure it was over. Kid wasn't actually crying, but it was nice to know that Black-Star had a different layer. A different layer just for him.
"Yeah." Kid grabbed Black-Star's shoulders and pulled the star into a kiss and one single thought went on in both of their minds.
Just friends, my ass.
Admit it, that was cute.
