Chapter 17

Kix

Kix woke up in a huge unknown room. "Hello?" Kix said smelling the air it smelled… chemically. He couldn't put a finger on it. Then the door behind him opened.

"Kix, it is good to see you." A voice called and Kix narrowed his eyes.

"What have you done to the others?" Kix asked scowling.

"Who?"

"You know who." Kix said sourly

"Oh, never mind them."

"Actually, I do mind. What have you done, Vader?" Kix said and then a dark figure came out from the shadows of the room.

"They're in safe hands, so will you after we take a couple more tests."

"I don't trust you."

"You shouldn't." Vader said crossing his arms. "If you will excuse me, I have other things to do." Vader turned and the door shut behind him.

Then Kix heard a valve release and he smelled a stronger version of the chemical from earlier. "What is that name? Nex? No. Tine? No. Nitron!" Kix snapped his eyes open and gasped "No." he said 'Have to keep it under control.' He breathed lightly, but, it was no use, he started to see his memories go across his mind. 'No, no, not now.' Then, Order 66 came.

"Kix, I need you to come with me." Captain Rex said

"Yes, sir." Kix said and they started to walk into the woods when Rex pushed him to the side. "Oomph." Kix gasped out as he was slammed into something hard.

"You alright, Kix?" a voice asked from behind him.

"Yeah." Kix managed to say then he realized who the voice came from. "Fives?" and then saw a hand reach down which he accepted.

"Yeah." Fives said helping him up. "Did you find Echo?" he looked at Rex hopeful and he shook his head sadly.

"You don't think?" Jesse asked

"He wouldn't join them, it isn't like him. We have to keep looking." Fives said walking away,

They found a little shack nearby and Rex went up to it and knocked softly. Couple seconds later the door opened and a girl was hugging him. She finally pulled away and looked at Rex. "It has been a long time since I have last seen you, Rex." She smiled.

"It has, it is good to see you alive, Emily."

"Wait, the Emily from Mandalore?" Kix asked

"No, this Emily is not a civilian." Rex said

"Then what is she?" Jesse asked

Rex looked at Emily and she nodded "Emily, here, is a clone like us." Rex said and everyone around them had wide eyes.

"Whoa, whoa, you're saying she is a Jango Fett daughter?" Hardcase asked and Emily nodded

"A long lost sister?" Kix asked "Welcome to the family, officially." Everyone nodded but Emily

"You guys aren't disgusted that I am a defect?" Emily asked

"Of course not." Chopper said

"You might not be a brother, but you can fight as good as any other. Besides, that is what makes you unique." Rex said "We are down one crew member, his name is Echo, have you seen him?" Emily nodded

"I gave him one of my ships. He seemed in a hurry, didn't say where he was going." Emily said

"Alone?" Fives asked and she nodded and Fives relaxed a little.

"We need to go into hiding, that is probably what Echo is doing, all of us, separate from each other." Rex said "Once a couple months we can meet each other at," Rex thought "Naboo, far from any town."

Everyone said their farewells and left except Rex. "You want to go with us?"

"No, I will be fine." Emily said and Rex gave her a commlink

"If, you change your mind or just need someone to talk to."

"Thank you." Emily said and she gave Rex one last hug. "Until then, be safe." She smiled and watching Rex leave and she turned to go back into her house.

Kix was woken up from the slamming of fists to a table. "Wha?" Kix asked

"Good, you are up." A man said

"Yeah, I am now." Kix said while the man untied his wrists.

"Name's Spark, what's yours?"

"I don't know." Kix said confused "Do I even have a name?"

"I would hope so; I just heard rumors and all about you being Kix. You're the medic right?" Spark asked helping Kix up.

"I am a medic, the only thing I remember, but probably not the one you were thinking of." Kix said shaking his head

"Are you undercover? I promise, I won't tell anyone." Spark whispered smiling. "Hey aren't you a…" then the door opened

"Spark, what I specifically ask you to do?" a man spoke harshly

"I was to untie Kix and leave without another word." Spark spoke sadly "but, sir, why was Kix tied up in the first place?" Spark asked

"That is none of your business, trooper, now leave." He said with authority

"Yes, sir." Spark said giving him a salute and walked out of the room silently.

"Kix, come with me."

"So, you are saying I worked with the Empire? I was in battle, got in a huge accident, and lost a majority of my memory?" Kix asked

"Correct trooper, also, you are a sergeant in the Empire." He said

"Huh, I didn't know medics could be an officer?"

"That isn't true, only rumors. Obviously it is a false rumor I am speaking to one right now. Anyway, how about I take you down to the medbay and get you accustomed to it again?"

"Sure, if you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" Kix asked

"Marks." He said not looking at Kix

They walked in silence until they stopped in front of the room. "This is the medbay." They walked in and it was huge, like nothing Kix has ever seen. "I will let you get settled in." Marks said turning around when he did Kix noticed a scratch across one of his eyes and Marks left the room.

Kix walked through the medbay and it was busy with injured everywhere and medics running everywhere to get supplies. Then one medic came up to Kix. "Do you know how to do surgery?" he asked and Kix saw signs of fatigue.

"Sure." Kix said and he pulled Kix over to a medical bed, with a trooper in very bad condition. "What happened to him?"

"Broken bones, broken limbs, inside bleeding, he is lucky he survived." The medic said and they both set to work.

After they stabilized the trooper they went on to another injured. "Don't think I caught your name?" Kix asked

"Friends call me Coric." He said and tilted his head "I could have sworn I have seen you before. What is your name?"

"I am not sure, although, they are saying I am Kix, but I don't remember."

"Kix." Coric murmured "That can't be." He shook his head. Coric grabbed Kix's head and looked into the honey brown eyes of someone who went through pain, loss, anger, compassion, exhaustion, and most of all brotherhood. "It is you." Coric hugged Kix; he hesitated, confused, then gave in and hugged him back. "So how were you all those years?"

"I… I don't remember. They told me I liked being in the Empire." Kix said shrugging

"The Empire?" Coric murmured, he was thinking of all the cases he helped and then one case in particular popped in his mind. "Nitron." Coric said disgusted

"What is Nitron?" Kix asked

"Doesn't matter, I need to help you remember, anything, but later. Meet me in the medbay after it closes for the night." Coric said turning around and walked away.

After hours of the medbay closing for visiting hours he stopped at the door, surprisingly it opened easily. Kix walked in quietly not to disturb any sleeping injured, but there was none. Then all of a sudden someone came from the dark and slammed him into the wall. Then one light flickered on from across the room and the person who slammed him against the wall pointed to the light. Kix started to walk with caution then when he walked in he saw a holo playing of troopers going into battle but they were different than the stormtroopers, these troops had color on their armour. "What does this have to do with me?" Kix asked then his surroundings started to melt.

"Sir, as the team medic, when it comes to the health of the men, including you, I outrank everyone." Kix looked to the side and saw himself and recognized something.

"Saleucami?" Kix asked

"We gotta get these guys out of here."

"Forget it. We have to leave them."

"We can't just leave them, sir!"

"We don't have a choice. That's an order."

"You sound like General Krell."

"Look, Kix, it is more important to save yourself now. If we survive you can patch up the wounded later."

Kix grew dark "Umbara." He growled

"Nitron."

"Attack."

"It is all coming back to me now." He said to himself then the light flickered on. "Coric, is that you?"

"In the flesh." Coric smiled and Kix hugged him

"It is good to see you again, vod." Kix said

"Look who's talking. You lose a majority of your memory, let the Empire take you-"

"The Empire?" Kix looked around "Eh, I give them credit for neatness."

"Yes." Coric said

"Coric, you aren't really in the Empire, right? Just a cover to keep the Empire off your shebs?" Kix asked

"No, Kix, I am really in the Empire. They gassed you keep it that way, just for now, like the good old days with the Republic?" Coric asked smiling

"Fine." Kix said smiling back "It would be nice to catch up again."

"Though, word of caution, don't say any war tactics only be in medic mode they will still think you are gassed." Coric said and Kix nodded.

Couple days later after exhausting workouts, the Empire was planning something.

"Kix, may I have a word…" Marks said looking at Coric "In private?"

"Yes sir." Kix said getting out of his chair and walked over; Kix gave one last glance at Coric

'Watch yourself.' Coric mouthed, Kix nodded and walked off with Marks.

"Sir, you wanted to talk?" Kix asked

"Yes, you know the harsh trainings we put on you?" Marks asked and Kix nodded "Well, the hard work has paid off."

"Sir?"

"You are going into battle." Marks said

"What about Coric? Isn't he more experienced than me?"

"He is going, and so are you."

Kix got onto a gunship and felt at peace again with the reassurance of going back into battle after a couple years of silence. Though, he will miss the quietness of a civilian in a way. Kix walked up to Coric and stood by his side. "What is this battle for?" Kix whispered

"Rebels." Coric said and Kix felt a clench in his stomach

"Droids?" Kix whispered even quieter that only the sensitive hearing of a clone could hear. Coric shook his head and Kix's stomach clenched up even more that he felt like he was about to explode. The gunship doors shut and accelerated into the planet's atmosphere.

"Where are we fighting anyway?" Kix asked

"Ryloth."

Kix rushed into battle trying not to look into the eyes of the men, but then Kix looked into the eyes of one he shot. 'What am I doing? Killing someone innocent who had families he was protecting now he died families mournful. I am going to miss each target for the rest of battle that is what Rex would have done.' Kix thought and ran further into battle.

Author's Note: Finally done with this chapter. I really enjoyed writing this chapter. Emily, ok, I have upcoming stories about her past. I was going to pass writing that book, but I gave in and will come out in early December maybe late December, depends on how quick I can write 2 fics.
