Kampf lurched forward in a craven attack, his movements wild and flailing as he charged, bringing the massive horns that crested his head down like a charging bull. His body rippled as he came, flapping his wings to give him a boost of speed. Shyvana did the same, spreading her wings and billowing them once down and forwards, throwing herself up into the air and backwards, out of the path of Kampf's horns, diving as passed, his eye snaking upwards as he realized he had been baited into attacking. Shyvana roared as she forced her body into the shape of an arrow, sleek and sharp, crashing straight into Kampf's neck, right above the shoulder. She dug her teeth into his flesh, trying to rip a great chunk out as Kampf crashed down to the ground, bellowing in a mix of rage and anguish.
He squirmed as he tried to gain some leverage, but Shyvana used her rear legs to slam the larger dragon's head into the ground again and kept it there, as she clawed at his neck, trying to maintain her grip. She slashed his skin, but her claws couldn't pierce the armored hide on the back of his neck. Long, shallow marks appeared with every blow, but no damage was being done. Shyvana tried to get her teeth under one of the scales to rip it away, but Kampf roared and tossed her with a great buck of his shoulders, ripping Shyvana's hold on his head and neck away, and sending her arcing backwards onto the ground. She hit hard on her back and rolled several times, immediately tucking her wings against her body to keep them from snapping. As she felt her back press against the ground, Shyvana extended one wing, propelling herself into the air. She scrambled as she careened towards the stone wall, finally managing to right herself just in time to rebound off a massive boulder. She clawed at the rocks, her tail starting to fall, struggling for a hand hold as she raced along the wall, her claws finding purchase, but her hind legs not able to find anything.
Shyvana finally crashed into a rocky outcropping, the plinth of stone jutting out at a sharp angle. Shyvana scampered as she tried to stop her fall, the momentum she had barely managed to maintain and redirect slamming her into the wall with such force that it caused her head to ring. She dug one claw into the rock wall, finally slowing her tumble, the dragoness gasping for breath.
"SHOW YOURSELF!" Kampf roared from the middle of the clearing, his voice echoing in the eerie silence that had filled the void. Shyvana sat as silent as she could in the veil of mist as Kampf sucked in a breath and began to spray flames about wildly. His image was blurry through the steam cover, but she could see the glowing orange pillars of flame every time her roared in indignation, reaching out and scorching the earth, blackening great sections of stone and setting the forest beyond alight.
Burning through my cover... Shyvana hissed to herself, still breathing heavy. She looked about, the rock wall stretching a great distance in either direction. She turned back and watched as Kampf twisted about to aim at the far rock wall, across the narrow canyon.
Now! Shyvana lunged, kicking off the rock wall with her powerful hind legs, propelling herself into the air, gliding on her back. She tucked one wing in and rolled, extending it back out when she rolled, leveling out just enough before she dived. Shyvana swooped in, attacking from above, letting her talons strike first like an eagle. The force of her strike slammed him into the ground and dragged him along the dirt as she kept herself upright with her wings spread. A great furrow formed in the stone and ground as she sucked in a deep breath and sprayed a concentrated pillar of flame at the armor on his neck, just below his head. He choked and yowled as Shyvana clawed at the red hot armor plates on his neck.
"GET OFF ME, YOU WENCH!" Kampf struggled, pushing himself up with his arms, tossing her off easily this time. Shyvana flapped her wings, hovering just out of reach of his strikes. He shook it off quickly, shaking his head and spluttering as he coughed, spitting out the mouth full of stone and gravel he had picked up when Shyvana had dragged his head against the ground. "I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU REGRET YOUR VERY BIRTH!" Kampf bellowed as he looked up at her, clawing at a piece of stone that had been lodged between his head and his horn. Shyvana sucked in a deep breath and roared at him, carrying a massive wave of flames on it that billowed towards Kampf. He snarled and swept his wings forth, the typhoon force winds brushing her flames aside like it was nothing.
"Impressive." Shyvana said with a grin, still hovering just above him. Kampf tried to put on a proud smirk, but Shyvana cut him off. "My surprise attack, not you. You were rubbish." She chuckled softly.
"DON'T JUST SIT THERE AND MOCK ME!" Kampf roared, smashing his tail onto the ground and roared in anguish again. "I ENDED YOUR FATHER AND I WILL END YOU!"
"All I hear is talk and no action." Shyvana snarled. "Besides, I love a challenge."
"Funny. Little girl..." Kampf said with a grin. "You want a challenge then... how about this..." Shyvana's smile slid off her face as Kampf spread his wings. Each wing was as long as Shyvana's entire wing span. He grinned imperiously, watching as Shyvana continued to hover, as if she was frozen in place. One of his wings was damaged, the smallest of the flaps of leathery material shredded, a single long cut having split the material.
Jarvan... Shyvana smiled sadly, watching as Kampf flapped his wings once, sending a torrent of winds in every direction, stirring the steam, heavy with extra moisture in the cold air, like a cauldron. Shyvana turned and flapped, fighting for altitude in the thin air. She crested the cliff and continued climbing, watching over her shoulder. Kampf surged over the edge of the cliff, fuming in more ways than one, his eye burning with fury, his chest still rising and falling, a bright orange color as fire welled in his chest.
"RUN, RUN, AS FAST AS YOU CAN!" Kampf roared ferociously, his massive wings quickly closing the distance. With every flap of his wings, the gap narrowed between them, his massive wings giving him speed. Shyvana dived into a cloud bank, clamping her eyes shut as the ice started to form in her mane. Her breathing was becoming strained, the weight upon her wings starting to grow as she flapped harder and harder. Time seemed to blur as she struggled onwards, the cloud around her seemingly endless. She finally burst forth from the bank of clouds, free of the freezing air that had been pelting her, the ice that had been forming on her body seeming to break away, leaving her to look out over the pure white field of emptiness.
Shyvana inhaled sharply as she looked out over the rolling clouds. The world was nothing but empty, flat, pure white cotton, like the softest bed that Shyvana could have ever imagined. She circled about, as she watched the sun pass directly overhead and begin its slow descent towards the horizon. Shyvana didn't have time to spend time sightseeing.
Kampf, his black skin and scales a harsh contrast against the fluffy white clouds, burst from them like a shark, his teeth gnashing as he hunted for his prey.
"WHO IS THE ONE RUNNING NOW?" Kampf bellowed smugly, as Shyvana came into view once again, shaking the ice from his head. He looked up towards Shyvana, her body now silhouetted by the sun. He snarled as he tried to find her on the wild blue yonder, but he couldn't see her. He slowed to a hover, looking about for his prey. "COME OUT, WITCH! WHERE ARE YOU HIDING, RUNNING LIKE A COWARD..."
"Who's running?" Shyvana screeched, tucking her wings and tumbling backwards. Her body twisted about, coming to bear on Kampf, her claws ready to strike at his neck when he tried to evade her. She smiled, ready to gut him from chin to tail as he twisted about to watch as she came careening out of the sun, ready to strike.
His chops pulled back in a smug grin.
Shyvana struck Kampf head to head, smashing her snout on his armor plated forehead as she realized he wasn't going to evade. He brought his forehead up sharp, smashing her head and neck.
What?
Shyvana started to tumble out of the sky, plummeting towards the ground. She plunged through the bank of clouds, the ice forming around her body as she plummeted, quickly gaining speed as she twisted end over end.
The ground roared past as she rolled, her mind foggy, the pain from Kampf's blow still coursing through her head like a bad hangover. The noise from the roar of the wind in her ears was deafening, the power of the currents of the wind continuing to slam into her body as twist her about. She broke through the bank of clouds, and then she laid eyes on the ground, her body starting to stabilize into a flat spin. Shyvana groaned, trying to shunt the fogginess out of her mind as the ground rushed to great her, but she wasn't able to in time, the mass of trees she was heading towards growing to consume the entirety of her vision.
She tried to spread her wings at the last second to slow her, but she was falling too fast, and had too little time. Shyvana smashed through the highest canopy in a matter of seconds, coming down through a trio of pine trees, ripping the limbs from the trees as she slowed. The trees shattered and the limbs were stripped away as she continued down through the rest of the canopy. She smashed into a massive branch that winded her and twisted her about, sending her crashing into one of the trees. She rolled as the tree splintered, bending before it bounced her back into the branches, the force of the massive deceleration weighing in her chest as her organs were slammed against the back of her body.
Shyvana hit the ground with a dull thud, her vision swimming, her mind blank. She coughed, splattering blood onto the ground before her, sending dirt and pine needles She tried to push herself up off the ground, onto her knees, but she fell forward onto the ground face first, the world swirling around her before it all went black.
Shyvana blinked as she woke up, looking around and slowly pushing herself up off the ground. Her head and body ached as she looked around, struggling against the pain. Tree limbs were littered upon the ground in every direction and trees rose up from all sides as she realized she was deep within the forest.
She sat up and groaned, pushing herself up onto her knees and then back, collapsing onto her butt, leaning against a tree. She squeezed the bridge of the nose, grunting softly as she watched the stars roll past her eyes, the dark green and brown colors mixing and swirling about in front of her.
"What happened..." Shyvana muttered as she held her hand in front of her face, the pale skin covered in black sap and blood. She groaned as she felt her stomach clench up. She leaned over and emptied her stomach, shuttering as she did. She wiped her mouth of the sick and spat it out, struggling to lift herself up, pulling herself up to her feet with help from the tree. Shyvana looked to the sky, shivering as a gust of wind blasted through the windswept forest, getting under her cloak and the rags and bits of armor she had pieced together. She shivered as she looked around, holding her stomach, the pain still coursing through her body. Tears welled in her eyes as she tried to move her body. The fall had taken more out of her than she had thought as she stumbled along the ground, her feet dragging as if they had great chunks of granite tied to them.
The roar of a Dragon echoing overhead echoed through the forest, off the mountains and through the trees, coming from every direction. It was distant now, but the roar came again, growing louder... closer.
Shyvana groaned as she pushed through the pain, stumbling along through the forest, moving from tree to tree, leaning on each as she did. She looked around, looking for a landmark, something from which she could get her bearing and find her way. Shyvana's breathing had grown heavy as she continued to struggle, tumbling to the ground. She bit back tears, clamping her eyes shut, banging her fist on the ground as she tried not to let her tears overwhelm her.
"Why!" She shouted, shaking her head. She smashed a fist into a tree root and immediately regretted it, red blood pouring from her hand. "Why am I not strong enough! Damnit!"
A roar echoed over head reminding her just how little she had been able to do. Another roar passed directly overhead and Shyvana ducked her head, scared that something would actually come from it. She held her head to the ground, covering it with her arms, still waiting. She looked up towards the sky as a massive shadow flashed past and she ducked down again.
"Stop toying with me!" She screamed, her fear turning to anger and fury. "If you want to you should just KILL ME!" She stared at the sky, tears pouring down her face, hoping it would end the torture.
At first she was only answered by a gust of wind, but something else was coming. A roar echoed from above as something descended though the forest racing towards her, sending trees crashing, racing towards her through the forest and trees, rather than between them or over them. The sound of shattering trees grew louder as he descended through the forest, crashing onwards like an oncoming typhoon. Shyvana began to run, stumbling from tree to tree, bumping off of trees as she tried to run, to simply move faster, putting some distance between her and the roar of an oncoming sound, like an approaching solid wall of sound.
The tree behind her crashed to the ground as Kampf's horned, black head lurched forth, his teeth bared as he snapped at Shyvana, a cruel but happy smile on his face as he clawed his way along, smashing into a massive tree and lurching to a halt gnashing and struggling against a pair of trees that had caught his shoulders. Kampf clawed at the ground, trying to get closer, his teeth still gnashing as he kicked himself further with his back legs. His arms were clawing at the tree and the ground, the tree creaking and groaning as Kampf tried to push himself closer to clamp his teeth around her pale, pink flesh and break her in half.
"Come here, girly..." He mused with a growl. Shyvana stumbled backwards as he pushed onwards again, the trees groaning against his advances.. She tripped on a root and crashed to the ground, his jaw snapping at her feet as she collapsed just out of range of his charge. "You want me to kill you?" He roared smugly, pausing his struggling to smash a small tree aside with the side of his horn and a flail of his head before he looked back to Shyvana with a smile. "Come a bit closer and I can make it all the much easier for you." Shyvana was pushing herself back further away from him, along the ground, her back now against a tree as she watched Kampf smash against the trees to try and gain a few feet.
"You want to try and end me?" Shyvana gasped, pushing herself up into a sitting position, a frown on her face.
"You asked for it, girly..." Kampf said with a grin. "All of your friends are dead now. Only you remain." He snorted and sent a wave of steam and hot air crashing over her. "So... what is it? You want me to end it for you now or do you want to continue fighting?" Shyvana gritted her teeth and got to her feet, shaking off a few stray tears.
"You mock me... you mock my friends... you mock my country..." Shyvana growled, watching him stare back at her as he hung to the trees, his teeth barred. "But now, you try and mock my will... my desire to kill you?" Kampf chucked again, watching her shake her head and wipe the tears from her face.
"YOU SAY THAT LIKE YOU STILL HAVE ANY WILL AT ALL!" Kampf roared with laughter, raising his body up off the ground, rearing back for one final charge.
"You underestimate me." Shyvana said, letting a cold smile slip onto her face. " ...but, you should know: By my will... this shall be finished... and by the blood of my father... I will end you."
Kampf looked admonished, his eye wide with anger as he roared, a wave of heat and damp air rushed over her.
"YOU THINK YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?" He let a cruel grin slide onto his face as he rolled his neck, the sound of cracking echoing all around her. "I HOPE YOU'RE READY!" He roared and lurched forward, smashing the trees on either side of his shoulders. The trees simply splintered with the force of the blow, bowing slightly with each strike.
Shyvana did not sink back though, watching calmly as he came. Fire exploded around her, swirling like an inferno, whipping her hair and her cloak into a fury as her brow furrowed and she raised her arm up. Shyvana leaped up and forward, lifting her body just above Kampf's snout as it passed under her feet, the feet of his breath billowing her higher. She stretched her neck, elongating it, the skin around her head turning a deep blue. Scales erupted from her skin and horns burst through her skull as her serpentine eyes gleamed in the reflection of Kampf's great gleaming eye. The black diamond pupil gleamed back at her as she slid over the crown of his head.
Shyvana breathed a ball of fire from the bottom of her gut, letting the flames pour from her mouth as she caught it in her hand, pouring energy into the ball of fire, letting it snap and snarl as she poured more energy into it. She slammed the ball of fire onto the top of Kampf's head, the dragon snarling and swinging his head about as Shyvana slammed her claws into a bit of Kampf's exposed flesh, deep gashes appearing as she slowed herself to a stop as she caught the top of a massive armored plate. He roared in pain as Shyvana jerked her arm forward and threw herself towards Kampf's head.
Fire swelled around her arm as she ripped her body up Kampf's body, throwing herself up over his head. The fire on her arm swelled to a crescendo, like a tornado of fire, it swirled around her fist. She smashed her fist down into his head, sending his face crashing into the ground. He roared in anguish as he hit the ground and caught trees and dirt, his face crashing straight through the tree.
Shyvana went shooting over the top, rolling as she hit the ground, bouncing off a tree as she skidded to a halt. Kampf did the same, though he did so by plowing up several trees and a few hundred tonnes of earth in the process. He ripped his face from the ground, blood pouring from the top of his head as Shyvana pulled herself to her feet, shaking the shock off and starting to run again as Kampf spat out all the dirt he had collected in his mouth, roaring in anger.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" He bellowed, his voice echoing through the forest around her as she sprinted, letting her legs carry her as fast as she could, fire swirling around her legs as she ran, panting as she did. She ducked in and out of the trees until she could no longer hear the sound of Kampf's bellowing, nor the thrashing that spawned of his destruction of the forest. She leaned against the tree, her body aching as she sucked the icy air in, her chest burning, her legs burning, her entire body aching.
"I can't keep this up..." She said, shaking her head as she gasped for breath. Her breather was cut short as a wall of fire descended upon the forest, off to her right, like a meteor descending from the sky. Shyvana, her heart still beating in her ears, her breathing still heavy, pushed herself up against the tree, watching in horror as the forest began to burn. Another wall of fire splashed down along the her left, trees going up in smoke and flames, the orange tongues of flame dancing as they quickly spread from tree to tree.
"YOU CAN'T HIDE FOREVER!" Kampf bellowed from above, his voice echoing through the forest, as he passed over head, his roar echoing off the mountainside and bouncing back and forth across the landscape. Kampf circled about, Shyvana watching from below on the forest floor as he looked for her, his head twisting about as he tried to spot her, content with burning her out of the forest. She gasped and dived aside as a wall of flames came rushing down as he swept down. A massive pillar of flames descended from the sky, setting fire to a massive strip of the forest.
Shyvana pulled herself to her feet, watching as the forest was quickly turning into a rolling inferno, not a serene landscape.
"This needs to end soon..." Shyvana said, shaking her head. She scanned the sky, looking for Kampf's silhouette against the clouds. Shyvana paused, furrowing her brow as she started to move through the forest. If she stayed in the same place for too long, she would get boxed in by Kampf's strafing of the forest, the rolling inferno now casting a menacing orange light upon the entirety of the forest. The pale light of the cloudy sky was now obscured by thick pillars of smoke that were rising up from the burning forest, the sap giving the smoke a deep black cast. She heard his roar off in the distance behind her as he sprayed flames down again, now sealing the box around her. "I either face him in the air... or I die on the ground, trapped like a rat..." Shyvana muttered as she continued moving through the forest. She coughed, not all of the smoke rising to the tops of the trees, her eyes burning as she stumbled over the roots, her vision blurry from the smoke and the tears that welled in her eyes. Shyvana pulled her scarf up over her face, trying to keep the smoke from her lungs, but it was only growing thicker. She tried to run now, but she could hardly breathe. Shyvana leaped up over a rise, a large root blocking her path, catching a glimpse of the cliff further onwards.
Shyvana tripped over something hard, her shin screaming in pain as she tumbled head over heels onto the floor, hitting the ground much harder than she had intended. Coughing and spluttering for breath, she found a few remnants of fresh air in the shallow depression she had stumbled into. She gasped for breath as she coughed, her eyes still stinging. As she rubbed her eyes, trying to rid the stinging sensation from her eyes, she froze, her breath catching in her throat as something gleaming in the bright orange fire light. It was the wrong color though, it wasn't the golden orange glow of flames, it was a silvery sheen. Shyvana righted herself, untangling herself from the undergrowth as she looked to where the long thin, shiny object was protruding from the base of a tree.
"Jarvan's lance!" She exclaimed, surprised by the weapon, its long, many bladed head stuck deep into a tree, the wood splintered and crushed by the impact of the blade. Shyvana took a deep breath and moved up towards the tree, stepping into the smoke and grabbing a hold of the lance. Shyvana hissed in pain as the lance burned her hands, steam rising as she gasped and cried out, the heat searing her hands. "It burns..." She gasped, tugging on the weapon, lodged deep in the trees trunk. She tugged on it till it broke free, sending Shyvana tumbling back, end over end down into the depression she had crashed into before. Shyvana held onto the weapon, despite the burns on her hands.
As Shyvana lay in the shallow grotto, staring up at the hazy outline of the clouds above she found herself over come with a fit of giggles, tears streaking down her face.
"It's funny..." She managed to say aloud, in between bouts of giggling. "But here I am... alone and afraid... and even then, you find some way to comfort me..." She looked at the lance, running her finger along its surface, along one of the gems that had been laid in its surface. "Jarvan..." She murmured his name softly, letting it ring in her own ears as she closed her eyes and lay her arm over her eyes, blacking out everything above. "...what am I doing?" Shyvana took a deep breath as the giggles died away and she felt the pain creep back in, the black hand of death slowly working its spindly fingers around her heart. Her heart was as sore as her body now, the icy wind slashing at her like hundreds of small blades.
Gone were the fantasies of a long and happy life in Demacia, of living out her days with Jarvan serving her new found purpose in life.
Gone were the ideals she had wished to live up to in service to a new lord, a man she had come to worship as the light of her life, the fire that burned in her soul.
"I shall never forgive you, Jarvan..." Shyvana said softly, staining her sleeve with her tears again. "This is twice now you've ripped my heart out..." She let out a sound that was lost somewhere between a choked sob and fit of laughter, the result both pained and garbled. "But you know what... I would give anything... anything... just to do it all again."Shyvana sighed deeply, as the sound of the burning forest started to grow closer around her, the heat of the fires now starting to warm her face, the icy winds that had kissed her skin with frigid lips now a dry heat fit only for the desert.
The heat dried her tears as she rolled onto her stomach and pushed herself to her feet, letting her hair hang around her face as she leaned over the ground on all fours, letting a single tear fall from her face as she took one last moment of regret before she sealed it all away, steeling herself for the battle to come. Shyvana took a few deep breaths and pushed herself up, pulling the lance behind her as she moved to the top of the grotto, shaking her head as she paused against a tree. She looked at the lance in her hand and clenched a fist, taking a step back as she growled. She raised the lance up above her shoulder, pausing as she looked at the tree. She clamped her eyes shut and took a single deep breath, something ominous hanging in the air as she did. She gritted her teeth and let all of her emotion flow into her arms as she swung, smashing the blade of the lance into a tree, the sound of an explosion echoing through the forest. The lance struck with such force that it broke through a tree as thick as the length of Shyvana's arm, casting splinters all across the ground. Shyvana watched in awe as the tree start to topple, reconsidering the weapon she held in her hands, amazed at its power.
"I don't remember it ever doing that..." She murmured as she took a few steps back, watching as the tree crashed down.
Shyvana smiled as an idea came to mind and she immediately jumped into action. Shyvana raised the lance and toppled another tree of similar size to the one before, watching with satisfaction as if tumbled to the ground and she froze as if crashed down, listening intently, trying to hear over the sound of the flames.
She was rewarded with the roar of Kampf from on high. The roar was long and angry, the noise echoing through the forest, growing louder with every second.
"He's coming..." Shyvana grinned, barring her fangs as she took off at a sprint towards the cliff, his anger roars growing louder. She took off at a dead run, raising the lance across her shoulder and swinging it down and around, across her body into a tree as she ran past, splintering the base this time, but not breaking all the way through it. The tree creaked and groaned, descending towards the ground with a screech as the wood gave away and it hit the ground behind her, the reverberations carrying up her legs. She swung again and again, continuing to strike the trees down around her as she ran towards the cliff, hoping that her idea would work.
Kampf's angered roars told her that it was working. Shyvana skidded to a halt at the top of the cliff, the ground cracked and crumbling where shards had shot up from the ground, clear signs of Jarvan's Cataclysm.
"Jarvan..." She murmured, looking at his handiwork up close. She had seen the remnants from afar before, but never up close. She paused to touch the sharpened stone that jutted from the ground, amazed by the sheer amount of force that it required, but an angered roar from Kampf above her caused her to jerk her hand back and look to the sky. She looked over her shoulder and spotted Kampf swooping down towards her, expecting her to have descended the cliff, ready to attack her as he swooped over the edge of the cliff and catch her in the open.
Shyvana let her teeth show again as she watched him come, taking several large steps away from the edge of the cliff, still holding Jarvan lance in hand as Kampf grew larger, the great black beast descending like a bird of prey.
Shyvana watched from within the smoke as Kampf scanned the area, his head sweeping back and forth as he tried to view everything with his one eye.
Shyvana began to sprint towards the edge of the cliff, holding Jarvan's lance on her shoulder as she ran, the weapon bouncing about as she carried herself forward on a field of flames, sprinting towards the edge.
"Don't fail me now, lance..." She muttered as she leaped, using the stone from Jarvan's cataclysm to propel herself into the air, flames trailing from her limbs she threw herself into the air, Kampf rushing past her as he dived sharply over the edge of the cliff, skirting the ground closely. Shyvana passed over him as he dived, and Shyvana feared she had over shot her mark, but as he leveled out along the bottom of the canyon, Shyvana saw that she was dead on. Kampf was too busy scanning the shelf, trying to find her amid the rubble and the destruction where Jarvan had brought the entire mountainside down to notice what was above and behind him.
Shyvana raised the lance above her head and brought it down, hard into Kampf's shoulder, the Dragon screeching in pain. Shyvana clamped her eyes shut and gritted her teeth as the sound cut through her head like a dagger into each ear. She held onto the lance though, the weapon buried deep in his shoulder. He twisted and turned along the shelf, striking a boulder, his body starting to crumble as his head flailed, his mind now concentrated on ripping the lance form his shoulder and not where he was flying. Shyvana held onto the lance as Kampf continued to screech, crashing to the ground, the great beast rolling and colliding with a massive chunk of stone, coming to a stop, his entire body shuddering as he writhed and squirmed.
Shyvana was thrown free of her hold on the lance, but she recovered quickly, rolling to her feet and taking off again as Kampf continued to writhe in pain upon the ground. His eye was flung open wide, darting about as he searched the sky for his prey, the anger he felt causing his entire body to shudder with anger, his chest heaving as he snarled, clawing at the lance stuck in his shoulder.
"NO MORE FUN AND GAMES!" He roared as he finally managed to get a hold of Jarvan's lance in his teeth, ripping it free and then spitting the lance out towards the cliff side, roaring in agony as blood now poured from his shoulder and the injury where Shyvana had smashed his head into the ground.
Shyvana watched in horror as he spread his wings and took back to the sky, the deep wound to his shoulder and then the wound where he had ripped it out, barely enough to slow him down for even a few moments.
"I... I..." Shyvana stammered as she watched Kampf circle once over head before he spotted her with his good eye and he roared his charge, tucking his wings into the side of his body, diving with terrifying speed. Shyvana turned and sprinted, letting her flames billow around her as the heat of the flames carried her faster. She sprinted to the edge of the cliff and dove, her transformation coursing through her veins as she spread her wings, ducking just below the beam of fire that scythed across the cliff right above her. Shyvana struggled to pull out of her dive, evening out over the surface of the river, now tumbling down over the rocks that had crashed into it and damned it up when the mountainside had come down. She skidded along the surface of the water, the claws of her hind legs just cresting the surface of the muddy water. Kampf made the turn safely this time, not diving blindly after, choosing to gain some altitude and bear down on her from above instead of following her into the narrow confines of the canyon where her smaller size and maneuverability would give her a bigger advantage. Shyvana raced down the canyon, juking in and out of the rocks as pillars of fire descended down from above her, each coming closer and closer with each attempt.
I can't stay down here... he's gaining on me. Shyvana turned a sharp corner and had to tuck her wings in as she drove through a hole bored in the rocks, a natural bridge formed by the river.
THAT'S IT! Shyvana gained a bit of altitude as she waited for Kampf to make the turn and start firing upon her from afar again, but she felt her stomach drop out as the canyon widened out. Without the narrow confines to keep her safe, Shyvana was going to be in trouble. She couldn't dodge forever and as she felt the heat of one of Kampf's fire breath pass directly over her tail, she knew it was time to act.
Shyvana descended even lower into the canyon, the tips of her wings striking the surface of the river with every flap of her wings, her claws just barely scraping the surface as she skimmed the top of the water. She weaved in and out of the sharp rocks, and she could hear the frustration starting to building in Kampf's roars as he continued spraying his flames down around her, great gouts of steam rising up every time he missed. Shyvana ducked around a corner and made a sharp turn, barely managing to make the turn as she went perfectly sideways, kicking off the canyon wall as she did, using her hind legs to propel herself upwards out of the canyon like a rocket, aimed directly at Kampf.
Kampf had closed the distance with her, trying to roast her with his inferno, but with every attack he had missed, he had pushed himself faster and lower, trying to make the distance short so he could strike her. It had closed to barely anything and when Shyvana had turned that last corner, Kampf had been ready to swoop overhead and roast her in the narrow walls of the canyon like an oven, but her attack completely blindsided him.
Kampf had his chest swelled with a belly of flames, ready to spew them down into the canyon, the orange glow of his chest so intense that it was hard to look at, but those flames were his downfall. He had been so sure of his next attack that as Shyvana shot instantly upwards at him, he couldn't quench the flames he held swirling in his chest.
Shyvana's claws caught his leathery skin between the armored plates of his chest, scraping his chest like a zipper, his chest bursting outwards, the fuel he had built up exploding all at once like a bomb greater than anything anyone had ever seen.
Fire spread across the sky, arcing through the air as the fuel exploded outwards, rocking the world like the end of the world was approaching and the gods had deemed that the heavens shall rain fire down from the sky. Shyvana, her skin covered in flames, was cast into the river, a great pillar of water erupting as she cannon balled in, propelled on by the force of the explosion, steam rising up as the flames were extinguished.
Kampf struck the wall of the canyon, bringing down the cliff side on top of him in a fury of flames as he crashed into the river, tonnes and tonnes of stone coming down on top of him as he disappeared in a cloud of steam.
