Chapter 15

"I should have made her get checked out." Started Dom now pacing with his hands behind his head.

"No one could have known Dom. She was too worried about Leon." Said Letty trying to be comforting.

"I should have known. She's been rubbing her belly and wincing and she was pale…."

"Bro, this isn't your fault. She wasn't letting anyone near her. When she is focused on something she's set and she was focused on Leon. Dom don't blame yourself." Said Vince.

No one knew what to do. Everyone looked at Letty, expecting her to know but she just shrugged and looked as unsure as everyone else. Dom was the calm, controlled one and that left everyone uneasy.

"Dom," Mia said softly moving in front of her big brother to stop him from pacing. "She's going to be ok." Placing her hands on his biceps. "The baby will be ok. They are Torettos. Torettos are strong."

Dom seemed to respond to her. Mia was always the maternal one. Taking care of everyone. She pulled her brother into a hug and calmed him.

"We are all strong and resilient. Everyone will be ok." She repeated.

"What's going on? Where am I? Leon…" asked Haley groggily, bobbing her head back and forth.

"Ma'am." Said the nurse.

"What's happening?" asked Haley starting to freak out.

"Miss. Toretto, you need to calm down. You are going into premature labor." Explained the doctor.

"Oh my god. Is my baby ok?" asked Haley grabbing her belly.

"You need to calm down. You took quite a beating and it put a lot of stress on the baby. We are trying to stop the contractions." Continued the doctor.

Haley tried to calm down but it wasn't working. She couldn't stop crying.

"I want my brother." She requested.

"This guy is lucky to be alive." Said the surgeon closing up Leon's side. "That was a lot of blood loss."

Beep Beep Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep

"His heart rate is dropping." Rushed the nurse.

The doctor grabbed the defibrillator paddles and rubbed them together.

"Charge at 300 volts." Instructed the doctor placing the paddles on Leon's chest. "Clear."

Everyone stepped back and Leon jolted.

Beep Beep Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

"Charge at 500 volts…. Clear."

Beep Beep Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Flashback

Knock Knock

"What?" growled Haley.

"What's up baby girl." Asked Leon slowly entering Haley's bedroom.

"What do you want?" said Haley rolling on her side facing away from him.

"Why are you so mad at me?" Leon asked lying next to her and cuddling into her back, resting his chin on her arm. "Are you crying?"

"What do you want Leon?" she repeated.

"Are you mad because I went out with Christa instead? I mean, I'm sorry I bailed on us hanging out tonight but I mean… a guy needs to get it in sometimes." He chuckled.

"Seriously Leon?!" said Haley shooting up into a sitting position and turning toward Leon.

"What's going on with you lately? Talk to me."

"I don't understand you."

"What are you talking about?" asked Leon sitting up.

"You kissed me. You were drunk but you kissed ME. Do you not remember this because you've been acting so different ever since?"

"Oh I remember."

"How are you going to do that and then act like you are acting? If you regret doing it, say so so we can move on from it."

"That's not it." Mumbled Leon rubbing his face with his palms.

He knew exactly what he did and he didn't regret it one bit, it just took him getting drunk off his ass to give him the courage to do something about it, and even after he kissed her she took care of his drunk ass. He felt his feeling change for Haley a long time ago and they only got stronger every time she wrapped her arms around his waist for a hug or every little giggle she had because of him but the moment she jumped in the middle of a fight he was in to have his back, he knew she was who he wanted by his side and not just as the buddy…. As his girl.

"Then what is it?" she growled smacking him in the face with her pillow to break him from his thought.

"I just shouldn't have done it."

"Ugh!" growled Haley getting up and pacing her room. "Then why did you?"

Leon couldn't help but notice her snug torn blue jeans hugging every curvy she offered and her fitted V-neck white tee-shirt giving off just enough cleavage to tease a man but not take away from his imagination.

"Because I have feelings for you." Whispered Leon standing up and leaning against the wall.

"What?" said Haley stopping her pacing, not knowing what to say.

"I have… feelings… for you." Sighed Leon crossing his arms over his chest and looking down unable to make eye contact with her.

"Since when?" asked Haley calmly now as she slowly stepped toward him.

Haley didn't know what to say. She always thought he saw her as a little sister, never in her widest dreams did she think he shared her feelings. Her heart fluttered every time he smiled, every time he placed his hand on the small of her back, every time he took her hand to lead her through the crowds of people at races.

"It's been awhile." He whispered.

Haley didn't say another word. She just closed the gap between them and kissed him, putting her body flesh against his. Leon was caught off guard by her move but it didn't take long for him to return the jester. He quickly pushed off the wall and put her against it. Haley held him tightly against her as Leon put his hand on her neck and rested his other on the bare skin of the small of her back.

Haley pushed against him, forcing him away from her, leaving them both breathless and wiping their mouths. They both stood there looking at each other for a moment, unsure of what to say. Haley stepped toward him again and wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her forehead on him shoulder, taking in his scent. Leon wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly, almost scared that she would pull away if he didn't hold on.

"What now?" he asked into her hair.

"I don't know." Said Haley looking up at him. "But I do know I have feelings for you too."

Leon kissed her sweetly and softly.

Flashback Ends

"Toretto?" announced the doctor as he entered the waiting room.

Everyone looked up and rushed toward him.

"Your sister is fine. We were able to stop the contractions. However, that doesn't mean she's out of the park. We have to keep a very close eye on her and the baby. She's also asking for her brother. Which one of you gentleman is her brother?"

"I am sir." Said Dom stepping forward.

"Ok, come with me." Said the doctor.

"Wait, what about our friend Leon? He was the other person involved." Asked Letty.

"I'm sorry. I can't give any information without family present." Informed the doctor.

"We're all the family he has." Started Dom. "He's the father of the baby my sister is having. He saved my sister's life."

The doctor looked at everyone's concerned faces and sighed.

"Ok." Started the doctor. "The surgery went well, however, when they were stitching him up they almost lost him from blood loss. They were able to get him stabilized but donors are needed."

"Why didn't they say anything?" growled Vince.

"Not family." Explained the doctor.

"We'd like to donate." Offered Mia as everyone nodded.

"It's not that simple. Blood types have to match. We'll test each of you for matches." Said the doctor. "Let's start with you Mr. Toretto, then we'll take you to your sister."

"Dom." Cried Haley as her brother walked in.

"Hails." Said Dom pulling his tired and scared sister into his embrace. "It's ok."

"I'm so scared. I don't want to lose the baby and they won't tell me anything about Leon."

Dom pulled away slightly and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I will tell you but you have to calm down and remain calm. I'm not suppose to say anything that will stress you out."

"Dom, please." Whispered Haley getting scared of what he was about to tell her.

"The surgery went well but they almost lost him. He had a lot of blood loss from the shot. He's stable but he needs donors." Explained Dom.

"I want to donate." She said immediately.

"You can't."

"This is all my fault. He's barely hanging in there because of me and they won't let me donate?"

"Because you're pregnant, you can't. Plus the baby is under a lot of stress." Explained Dom.

"But Dom…"

"Hails… No. Leon wouldn't want you to do anything that could put the baby in further danger."

With that said, Haley seemed to calm down. She knew he was right.

"Is he going to be ok?" asked Haley just above a whisper as tears slid down her cheeks.

"Mr. Toretto." Said the doctor as he entered the room.

"Yes."

"You and Mr. Shaltz are both matches so we'd like to call you both back and have you donate if you're willing." Explained the doctor.

"Absolutely." Said Dom looking back at his helpless sister. "Do you want me to get Mia?"

"Actually, she needs to get her rest." Interjects the doctor.

"But.." started Dom.

"Dom… It's ok. Just help Leon."
