"Have you figured it out yet Lucy!?" Father said as he directed our friends through the gate. As the last of our friends walked through the gate, Father smiled and walked through it as well but stopped part way through...
"Lucy!... Natsu!... Show us your resolve in your upcoming test... Show me your faith!... Show me your love!... Show me that the prophecy is true!" He smiled as he walked through the gate and it slowly disappeared. 'Miu and I will be waiting on the other side for you two and that traitor... Oh!... One last thing, you have to complete this trial without using your powers! The moment you use your powers you forfeit your trial and that traitors life!... Lucy, you and Natsu may use your hidden items if you need... Good luck!"
Chapter 5 - Prophecy...
Makarov's POV
So many things were running through my mind, that it was difficult to focus on my surroundings. Just a mere thought had my senses on overload, as my mind tried to understand it all... Demons, gates, Lucy, Natsu, Hell, Fairy Tail, all of it, nothing but a blur or rather a nightmare that I wanted so badly to wake from but I knew this was all too real. It was no nightmare... but our new reality!
Once I passed through the two large doors my mind instantly cleared as if a switch was flipped, I knew who I was and where I was and my first thought was, 'my children!'
I looked around the large room we were standing in and noticed it was an entryway. There were doors off to either side and a large staircase in front of us and judging by its size I could tell it was a massive estate. 'Someone of importance lived here!' I thought and that's when it dawned on me that this was Lucy's home... "Lucy! My child what have we done to you?" I sighed as a tear slowly fell. 'My children and I have done this!'
"You are correct old man... This is all your doing!" Said a tall black-haired man as he slowly descended the great staircase, arm in arm with the young girl we met at our guild. Behind them followed two tall human looking demons. "Do you take responsibility for you and your children's actions?" He said and I nodded 'Yes', "Very well!... Mia take this one to the study, I'll be there shortly!"
"Okay Kai!... Please follow me!" Said the small dark-haired girl, as she led me past my brats and into a side room. I could see where Lucy got her innocent charms from.
"Will they be alright?" I said as Satan touched each of my children and they fell to sleep.
"Do not concern yourself with them!... They will be fine as long as you do as Lord Satan requests!" Said one of the demons guarding the door to the study.
I followed the small girl into a large study and sat on one couch while she sat on the other facing me... She did not speak until the door opened and closed again revealing Satan, who she quickly ran too. I smiled as I thought she and Lucy seem to have very similar personalities.
"Yes they do... And you'll do well to remember that nothing in all of creation is more important to me than the two of them!" He growled as Miu swooned over him. He smirked as he reached behind her and...
"Ahhhh!... Kai not here!" She jumped and I couldn't help but laugh.
"This isn't a laughing matter Old Man!" The tall dark man said as he sat down opposite me and took a sip of wine.
"My a-apologies!" I nervously said as I remembered our first encounter. "M-May I ask what y-you are doing to my brats?"
"Your brats?... Ah! Yes the others!" He said as he laid his glass on the table. "I wiped their memories of everything that happened since the moment Lucy walked in to your guild that day and by now they are back at Fairy Tail, unaware of everything that has happened over the last little while!"
"T-Thank you!" I stuttered.
"What!... Thank you!... You're a fool!" Satan said as his demonic side showed through. "You think I did them a favor?" He roared.
"I'm sorry!... I'm confused!"
"That wasn't a favor... It was punishment for their actions!" He sighed as he shook his head. "They will never know of Lucy's true nature or power... They will only see her former self! Do you understand!"
"I believe I understand!" I hung my head at the thought that they will never know the real Lucy or off her true capabilities.
"Makarov, they will miss out on knowing a truly wonderful girl!" Miu smiled. "You have no idea how special she is!"
"You are right Miu and that brings me to why you are here Little Man!" He waved a hand and a half-serpent half-human appeared and refilled his glass and then disappeared. "We're here to discuss your punishment!"
"M-My pun-nishment!" I stammered.
"Yes your punishment!" He said as he leaned forward and smirked, "you didn't think you could walk out of Hell scott-free did you!" I sighed as I shook my head 'no'. "Good! I'm glad you understand!"
"May I Kai?" Miu looked to Satan and he gave a small nod. "Thank you!"
"As you wish Miu!" He said as she smiled and then faced me.
"Makarov!... Your world knows nothing of our kind, other than the so-called demons like Zeref in your world. They are not real demons, but magic induced beings who believe they are the real thing... The Pit is filled with their kind and they are treated as any other there and get no special treatment!" She said with a small smile. "Lucy on the other hand is the real thing... She's very special to us and even more special to all of creation. Sit back and relax and I'll tell you a little story!"
"P-Please do!" I smiled as I tried to comfortable, or as comfortable as I could get under these circumstances.
"I'm from a world similar to your's called Earth. We, well some of us, we believe in 'God' a being that created everything we see. You understand what I'm saying!" She waited for me to agree. "Good!... The story has it that God's 'most beloved' rose up against him and started a war in Heaven. So God being somewhat merciful cast his 'favorite' out, along with his followers into the darkness... Into the eternal flames of Hell. This is that Hell and Satan and those men you saw earlier are the ones that was cast out. Kai and his followers have been causing chaos throughout the Universe since the beginning of time. They are the darkness to God's light... A balance if you will!" She paused and took a deep breath.
"'He' said that Lucifer that would bring about the end of 'His' creation... But things changed...!" Satan Interrupted Miu.
"Miu came along and everything changed!" He smiled which surprised me. I could see it in his eyes, he truly loved this woman.
"That smile and that look in your eyes... I've seen it before in Lucy when she sneaks glances at Natsu!" I laughed.
"Really! Well that is good to hear!" She smiled and continued to speak. "Yes my Lucy is so much like her father!... Anyway back to my story... I found an old book one day and cast a spell to help me with my unrequited love and Satan appeared. We entered into a contract and over time we fell deeply in love, but some crazy warped Angel bitch killed me I woke up in Heaven. Satan and the Archangel Micheal fought over me and I stood by Satan's side and we won our freedom. I had entered Heaven an Angel and left Heaven a demon. We later married!"
"There is a reason we are telling you all of this and it has to do with your punishment!" Satan grinned.
"I understand, please continue!"
"Well there is a well-known prophecy that says, "Lucifer would rule the Earth for a thousand years and then be defeated by the Son of God and finally cast into an eternal pit of darkness"... About two-thousand years before I was born God had a son, Jesus, he preached of love and understanding... He was crucified and his followers created a new religion, but over time it became corrupt." She paused as she took a sip of wine and then continued. "Anyway it seemed that the original prophecy was coming true, that was until we met and everything changed and then a forgotten prophecy was revealed... It stated that, "In the final days the son of darkness would appear and bring an end to all creation."
"Most believed that the end was near when I became pregnant after Kai and I married and to be honest so did we. But we didn't care because no matter what, we would be together no matter where we went... Our only concern was for our child that was still unborn. We researched the prophecy and found a second, more obscure prophecy that said, "A daughter of darkness would herald a new dawn... Light and darkness in harmony!" So we had hopes that perhaps we could avoid our fate and create a new one... And then it happened I had our child... A-A Son!" She sighed, but Satan grinned.
"But!... Lucy's a girl!" I stared at her as I was very confused.
"Miu's being overly dramatic as usual!" He laughed as he pulled her into a tight hug as she giggled. "When my son was born, I was pleased as we had already accepted our fate. Miu was ecstatic as she waited to hold her son. Once he was cleaned up I held him high and smiled at his magnificence and kissed him before I handed him to his mother. As soon as Miu held him a bright white flash of light burst from his body and when the light disappeared we noticed our son was now a girl."
I was Shocked as I never heard of such a thing happening before... "How?"
"We don't know exactly why or how it happened, but we believe 'He' did it. I don't know what his end game is but we are grateful to have Lucy!"
"Lucyfer!" She laughed.
"No matter what happens in the future, we know that although our fates are sealed... Lucy's isn't! She has a chance to escape our fate and that is why you are here!" Satan said as he released Miu and leaned forward.
"What can I do?"
"You are to stay by her side while she is on your world. You will remain as you are now, memories intact as you live the rest of your life out!" Satan said as he leaned over and touched my head and I felt my body glow and I felt myself change.
"What did you do to me!" I said as I felt different somehow unsure of what the change was.
"I just cursed you... You will live and watch your precious children grow old and eventually die. When the last of your 'brats' dies you may follow them. While you are with them, teach them and their offspring to be loyal and just. You will be the only one who remembers any of this, so use that knowledge wisely and keep a close eye on our Lucy... She is your responsibility now!" He grinned.
"So your saying until the last of my brats at Fairy Tail right now dies, I cannot die?"
"Correct! Use that time wisely to teach your 'Brats' better and watch over Lucy as well. Be someone she can turn to when she needs advice or help... We'll be watching and may appear from time to time... Protect her!" He said as everything faded to white and a moment later I was back at Fairy Tail.
I smiled as I noticed everyone was back to their cheerful selves. Fighting and carrying on like nothing had happened.
"Master!... When is Natsu, Lucy and Lisanna coming back from their mission?" Erza said as she took a plate of desert from a smiling Mira.
"They said they'd go with us on a mission!" Gray said with a grin.
"Clothes Gray!" Erza shook her head as Gray scurried off to find his missing clothes.
I smiled as I felt happy to see everyone back to normal. "Soon child!... Very soon!" 'Please come back to us soon my brats!' I thought as I noticed a pair of eyes in the shadows slowly disappear.
Back in Limbo...
Lucy's POV
"Luce!... Will they be alright!" Natsu looked around as he scratched his head. I could see him trying to figure out where he was and perhaps where we go from here.
"They should be fine as long as they are respectfully. If I had to take a guess, I'd say they were back in Fairy Tail by now, oblivious to everything that has happened... At least that's what I'd do with them, but Father can be unpredictable at times." I said as I took Natsu's hand in mine. "They'll be fine!"
"Thank's Luce... So where do we go from here?"
"I'm not really sure! Perhaps back the way I came in!" I said as I led Natsu towards the door that I remembered from earlier. As we got near the door Natsu stopped and looked at one of the spirits sitting near the door...
"I know him, he's..." I interrupted Natsu as I thought I need to explain something to him.
"Natsu on our journey we may encounter people we know... I'm afraid we can't save them, this is their fate. Especially those here in Limbo, they are "Off Limits", I can't help them!" I sighed.
"So we have to leave him!?"
"I'm afraid so, besides if I intervene we condemn Lisanna to her personal Hell and I forfeit this task. And as you know we can't do that!" Natsu sighed as he kneeled down in front of our fallen comrade, a tall man with an eyepatch and a metal chin plate.
"Simon!" I sighed as I felt my stomach turn. The look in Natsu's face said it all... We had to do something!
"I'm sorry Lucy, but we just can't leave him here like this... We owe him too much, He saved us... He saved Erza!" Natsu flashed me his saddest eyes.
"Natsu you know we can't!" I felt tears roll down my cheeks as I watched a dejected Natsu plead for Simon. "You know what this will cost us!"
"I know Luce but we have to!"
"Alright! I'll save him!" I sighed as I kneeled down by Natsu and placed my hand on Simon's head and was about to use my power to send Simon out of this place when Natsu reached into my coat and pulled out Beatrice's Cross.
"What's this Luce!" He said as he held it up and I fell back on my ass as I had almost made the biggest mistake of our lives.
"Dam it!" I yelled as I had forgotten about that. "Natsu!.. Hold it up and ask 'God' to forgive Simon!"
He held it high and turned to me and smiled, "Like this!?" I nodded and Natsu closed his eyes and spoke, "Please forgive Simon, he saved our lives... Please forgive him!" The cross started to glow and glow brightly until a beam of light shot out of it and enveloped Simon. He opened his eyes and smiled at us as he slowly floated up into the night sky and disappeared.
"You did it Natsu!... You saved him!" I cried as I wrapped my arms arround him.
"Really!... It worked!" He said as he turned his head and gave me his patented toothy grin as he handed back the cross to me but I stopped him.
"You keep it!... I think it's better if you use that!" I said as it dawned on me what Father said about the items I had... He knew this would happen, 'I'm such an idiot for forgetting about that!... Thanks Dad!'
Natsu stood up, took my hand and lead me out the door. What I saw confused me because it didn't look the same as when I entered. A few feet ahead of us was the edge of a cliff, beyond that a drop that seemed to have no bottom. My dark side kicked in as I smiled at Natsu...
"Do you trust me!"
"Of course!" He said, I smirked and pushed him off and followed him.
We fell for what seemed like forever until we landed with a thump on a cliff edge. I looked around and found Natsu standing on another cliff edge scanning the area, looking for me. I pulled out my whip and swung it till it wrapped around a rock above and swung myself over, landing near Natsu.
"That wasn't so bad was it!" I laughed.
"HAHAHA!... Warn me next time you do that!" Laughed Natsu.
"Sorry! Sorry!" I winked as I apologized. "Natsu!... Welcome to the second Circle of Hell - Lust!"
"Lust! I think I'll like this one!" I smacked him up the back of the head.
"Idiot! This place is dangerous and not to be made light off!" I growled.
"Sorry Luce!" Natsu said and then his eyes perked up as he saw a cloud of smoke floating our way. It howled and screeched as it approached. I could tell Natsu was slowly being enchanted by the eerie siren's song. I smiled and pinched Natsu causing him to jump as he snapped out of his trance.
"She's here!" I laughed.
Hmmmm! A few questions answered. LOL At least I hope they were!
