This is in a world where Neji didn't die! Also Happy birthday Tenten!
It was March 9th, Tenten's birthday!
It has been almost a year since the war ended and Neji being brought back. Tenten shudders remembering his death. None of the less she happily walked through town.
She had changed her style sense then. She now wears a short sleeve dress that goes to her knees, fishnet leggings, and knee high ninja boots. She also has wrist scrolls and her normal buns have been braided, leaving a braid down to the top of her back.
"Hey Tenten!" Sakura greeted. Sakura kept her hair short and now has the mark like Lady Tsunade had on her forehead.
"Happy Birthday!" She hugs her. "So is a certain Hyuga getting you a present?" She asks, head tilted with a hand on her chin wiggling her eyebrows.
"I don't know if Hinata got me a gift."
"Not Hinata, Neji!"
"Oh. I don't know, usually he treats me to dinner and cuts training time." Tenten shrugs.
"Well maybe him dying revealed something to him." Sakura thought aloud.
"What do you mean?"
Sakura gave Tenten a sly, mischievous look. "You know what I'm talking about Tenten! You love Neji! Ever since your genin days and I think he loves you." Sakura smirked when she saw Tenten blush.
"Don't say silly things like that Sakura! Besides just because you think he loves me dosen't mean he does." Tenten states solemnly. "Well I got to go! Guy and Lee have a 'surprise party' planned for me. Later! Tenten ran off to her training grounds.
"Come on out Neji, I know you followed Tenten." Neji walks out in loose blue shirt and pants. He still no longer held the mark since he's been brought back, and with his byakugan still working, he was surprised they didn't reseal him.
"Hn." He grunted, eyes closed arms folded.
"I know just what you can get her for her birthday." Sakura stated slyly. Neji didn't like that tone of voice.
"Just tell her how you feel."
"Now what makes you think I could possibly be in love with her!" Neji exclaimed, a blush trying to take over his face. Sakura giggled.
"It's obvious don't deny!" Sakura exclaimed. Neji sighs. He then turns and walks away.
"Hn. My work here is done." Sakura states proudly.
Tenten, Lee and Guy were all at their training grounds giving Tenten her gifts. She opened Lee's gift wrapped in green wrapping paper, and behold! It was a key.
"Lee what is this key for?" She asked with a curious look.
"We always knew you would want your own weapons shop youthful flower! So Guy sensei and I had bought you a small shop for a cheap price!" Tenten didn't know what to say. She hugged Lee and proceeded to hug Guy in his wheelchair.
"Happy birthday, oh youthful blossom!" Guy said. This made Tenten smile. Even after his injury his personality never changed, and Tenten was grateful for it.
A little while later the rest of the Konoha 12 came, besides Neji. Tenten's chest sunk. 'Neji hasn't come?' She held back her sadness and still smiled.
"Am I too late?" A deep baritone voice asked. Tenten's head perked up and she turned around.
"Neji!" She ran up and hugged him.
"Happy birthday." He handed her a white box she quickly opened. She stopped and stared. She took our the silver necklace of a shuriken.
"I love it. Will you help me put it on?" Neji came around and put on the necklace and whispered in her ear.
"There's a bonus gift that came with this." Tenten turned around.
"What is-" She was cut off when Neji's lips met hers. She threw her arms around his neck and his around her waist. Everyone cheered and some mumbles 'about time.' The broke apart and Neji whispered in her ear-
"I love you." Tenten kissed him again and replied-
"I love you too."
Epilogue
"Mommy! Hiazashi told me he graduated top ninja in his class when he graduated." Said a little girl with her head in twin buns like her mother and pale eyes like her father.
"Yes, he did Hikari. I bet you will graduated top female of your class. This is your last year before you graduate." Tenten said.
"Really?! I have to ask daddy if he can train me some more in the gentle fist! My target practice is already perfect!" Hikari noted.
"Daddy has to teach you what now?"
"Daddy!" Hikari ran up to hug her father.
"Guess who's team made it back early from their mission?" Neji asked. At that moment a boy that had Tenten's hair color stepped in. His hair was in a low ponytail like his dads and he was a little scratched up. He also had the pale Hyuga eyes.
"Hizashi nii-san!" Hikari ran up and hugged her brother.
"Welcome back Hizashi-kun." Tenten kissed his forehead.
"Moom! I'm a shinobi now!" Hizashi whined. "I'm to old for kisses."
"You're never to old!" Tenten replied. She look to see her husband with a pout.
"Welcome back honey." She pecked Neji on the lips. They all sat down and proceeded to eat dinner.
'Yes, best decision Sakura ever had me make.' Neji thought.
