A/N: Hey guys, sorry that I didn't post this sooner in the day. But it's here now! Even though it's 11:00 PM as I'm writing this Author's Note :\
The next day, Valka woke up early and made some of her mother's ginger tea. While she waited for the water to boil over the fire, she looked out the window and watched the people do their daily choirs. She even spotted her brother walking with Unn with a bag of fish hanging over his shoulder. Valka smiled seeing Spitelout being interested in someone rather than himself. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard her husband walking down the stairs. Valka turned her head and saw Stoick walking down the stairs sluggishly.
"Morning," Valka greeted seeing him take a seat at the dining table.
Stoick smiled and return her greeting. He pulled out a quill and a scroll and started to write down his list for the day. Valka went back to the pot over the fire and saw it boiling. When she started to make her tea, Valka heard her husband groaning in frustration. "What's wrong now?"
Stoick pinched the bridge of his nose before he answered her. "I forgot that I have another baby dedication because I've been focusing on a marriage dispute that I have to fix. Then I got a letter last week that Johann has delayed his visit, and I got another complaint from Mildew about boars ruining his field, and I got a chief meeting in a few months, then I-"
"Stoick, do you need my help? I'll be glad to help; you've been stressed for months and you look like you need extra hands."
"I appreciate it, but you need to focus on the baby." Stoick said receiving an eye roll from his wife. "I'm pregnant Stoick, not a fragile vase. I should be able to help you."
"Yes, but running the village is my responsibility, not yours."
Valka sighed; she knew she wasn't going to win an argument. "Fine….but I'm going to visit Mr. and Mrs. Nidar. I just want to give them my support from last night's disaster."
"That's fine; I'll see you later tonight. Maybe at bedtime knowing how my day is going to be." Valka breathed a laugh and kissed the top of his head.
"Then I'll see you late tonight," she said and walked out with her clay cup filled with tea.
~oOo~
Stoick walked into his home and collapsed in his chair. He didn't get a break all day. He put a block of ice on his head when he saw his wife walk in. "Tough day?" she asked seeing her husband sinking down into his chair.
"It's these types of days when all I want to do is sleep."
Valka let out a light chuckle and went to fill up a mug of mead for him. Once the mug was full, she sat the drink on the table. Stoick picked up the mug and placed it to his lips. "Thank you, maybe I'll forget about this horrible day."
"Well, don't drink too much. We need to be at The Great Hall in a few minutes, the Thorston girl just got engaged and the family wanted me to ask you if you'll make the announcement."
Stoick groaned and placed the ice on the table. "Oh alright, one little announcement won't hurt."
"Make that two; you never said anything about the baby yet." Valka said snootily while she put her hands on her hips. Stoick cringed a little and stood up to walk over to Valka.
"I'm sorry dear; I guess I've been distracted lately and I should have said something this morning to the people."
Valka pursed her lips and crossed her arms. She sighed before she responded. "Alright, I forgive you. I mean it's not like our first child isn't important or anything."
"I'm not going to win this, am I?" Valka gave him a smirk and walked out of the house to enter The Great Hall.
~oOo~
After everyone was settled in The Great Hall, Stoick stood up from his seat. Everyone turned their attention to their chief and waited for his speech. "I just like to say that something great will come to our tribe. Well actually two great things." Stoick saw his wife and the young engaged couple waiting for him to speak. However, once Stoick was ready to make the announcements he felt a sharp pain in his side. He heard people screaming in horror as he saw the source of the pain.
Stoick grabbed the arrow and pulled it out. He hissed threw his teeth seeing the blood dripping from his side. Valka ran up to him, and then saw someone running out of The Great Hall with a bow out of the corner of her eye. "Someone stop him!" she cried out and saw men running after him. Valka turned her attention back to her husband seeing him throw the bloody arrow to the ground.
"Come on, let's get you to Gothi." Valka said putting her hands on his shoulders, but was brushed away by her husband.
"No need, I'm fine." He said as he held on to his wound. Valka saw the blood sliding down his tunic as he tried to stop the bleeding. Gothi went to the couple and pulled Stoick's hand away from the wound. Stoick rolled his eyes at the woman, sure he was bleeding, but he wasn't dying. Gothi walked away from them and beckoned them to follow her.
~oOo~
Gothi got out her bag and started to examine her chief in her hut. "Did you get a good look?" Stoick asked his wife while Gothi was trying to put pressure on the bleeding. Once the bleeding started to clot, she started to wrap up the wound.
"No, I only saw the back of his head." Stoick sighed in defeat before making his statement. "Well, maybe the man got caught. I saw a lot of men chasing after him."
Suddenly they heard racing footsteps, then they saw Gobber running inside and fell on his knees in front of them from exhaustion. "Stoick, we caught the man….and it's not a surprise who tried to kill you," Gobber panted.
"Who was it?" Stoick asked his out of breath friend. "Alvin," Gobber answered then coughed. Valka saw her husband clinching his fist and flaring out his nostrils.
"Gather the people and bring Alvin in chains."
~oOo~
Later that day, Stoick and Valka stood in the back of The Great Hall. The people around them shouted and cursed at the chained up man who stood in front of their chief. Stoick raised his hand to quiet the crowd and spoke until only his voice could be heard. "Alvin the Devoted, you are here on the charge of attempting to kill me." He bellowed as he walked towards his former friend.
Alvin glared as he watched Stoick walk to him. Stoick put his face a few inches away from Alvin's and whispered "if someone told me years ago that you would try to assassinate me, I would have thought that they were crazy. I don't know who you are anymore Alvin, but you are no longer part of the Hooligan Tribe."
Alvin didn't say a word and kept his death glare on Stoick. The Chief walked away from Alvin and stood next to his wife. "Alvin, you are now here by renamed 'Alvin the Treacherous' and no longer a citizen a Berk or a member of the Hooligan Tribe. Your punishment is to be exiled and sent to Outcast Island." Stoick announced then heard the hall being filled with whispers and mumbles.
After a few hours, Alvin was on a boat (still in chains) waiting to be sailed away. Stoick and a few men walked on the boat. Stoick stood in front of Alvin as the men were setting the sail.
"Are there any last words you want to tell me Alvin?"
"Yeah…..you better watch your back, because this won't be the last time you'll see me. I will take Berk, and kill your bloodline without hesitation."
Stoick clinched his fist ready to hit him, but he gave him one last glare and walked off the boat. "You're weak Stoick! You have always been weak!"
"Send him away!" Stoick shouted and the men untied the boat from the mast and sailed to Outcast Island.
A/N: How was that? I know it's short, but I didn't have a lot of time to write it.
Also, before there is any confusion about the engage couple. The Thorston girl in this chapter are the twins' Aunt.
Don't forget to review and please no flames.
