A/N: What's up guys? I'm sorry if this chapter is a bit boring, so please don't hurt me by wasting your time.

It's been a few months since Alvin was banished. Stoick finally announced Valka is pregnant and the young couple's engagement. During the past few months, Valka has been preparing for the baby and made a few clothes and blankets. Stoick helped by searching their storage to find the family cradle. Over the past few months, Valka kept having mixed feelings about the pregnancy.

She wouldn't regret having the child, but she hated what comes with the pregnancy. Yes, she did know that her stomach would get bigger, but that seemed to be the only thing she liked compared to everything else. She couldn't put her boots on anymore, so she had to get new ones, it seemed like she always had a craving for something to eat. She had to relive herself more than usual, and she had some of the strangest dreams.

When Valka hit her fifth month, her mother and Gothi tried to determine what the gender of the baby would be. Her mother said it would be a girl, but Gothi said that it would be a boy. Valka wasn't so sure what her child would be, and she didn't care. All she cared about was its health and she was eager to see what her child would be like.

One night when she was lying in bed, she felt her child move. She cried out for her husband to come making him panic. After she pulled his hand to place it on her stomach, Stoick felt little movements under his hand. They both would agree that was a goose bump moment. At that moment, she knew how much she was excited to see her child's face in four months.

A few days after feeling the child's first movements, Stoick saw that Trader Johann was sailing to the docks. Stoick walked over the docks as the people crowded the ship waiting for Johann to let them on. "Ah Berk! My favorite island among the islands." Johann greeted as he let the people get on the ship. Stoick followed and looked around the ship to find something useful. "Ah Stoick, how's my favorite chief?"

"I'm pretty sure you say that to all the chiefs, Johann." Stoick said as he greeted the trader. Johann chuckled before making a statement. "Oh, I heard about the child, congratulations. How do you feel knowing that the child will have your temper?"

"What makes you think I have a temper?"

"I know you Stoick, but hopefully the child will have more of your wife's personality than yours."

"I'll let that one slide because you are an old friend." Stoick said "but, I am looking for something useful."

"Ah, you know I think I might have something for the child." Johann said and searched in a barrel and pulled out something brown. Johann handed a cradleboard to Stoick. "It's made from bear fur, the owner made it for his children and the man didn't know what to do with it once the youngest one grew, so he gave it to me." Johann said as Stoick examined the cradleboard.

"Why didn't he keep it? I mean, couldn't he have saved it for children he might have later?"

"Oh no, he was an elderly man and his wife is getting to the age where she can no longer have children."

"What do you want me to trade it for?"

"Oh you don't need to give me anything Stoick, call it a gift."

"Well thank you, but I do want to find something for Valka. I'll give you three pearls in trade for her gift. Our fourth anniversary is in a few days."

"I think I know what will do the trick." Johann said and he walked away to another barrel and pulled out a bag. "A gardener gave me these seeds; she said they are yellow roses. I think Valka will enjoy these flowers." Stoick nodded in agreement and gave Johann the pearls as he took the bag of seeds.

Stoick thanked Johann and walked off to the woods to plant the roses. He asked his mother-in-law for help since he knew nothing about planting flowers. After they found a good spot and planted the rose seeds, Stoick kept one for himself and went back to do his chiefly duties.

Valka was lying down in bed resting when Johann came. She wanted to see him, but she was too tried to get out of bed. Valka placed her hand on her bump and looked down at it. "Why do you want me to sleep so much? You're making me miss the day." She felt the baby kick her like it was responding to her comment. "Okay I get it; you want me to be as lazy as you." The baby kicked again making Valka laugh as she tried to sit up.

"You up dear?" she heard her husband yell from their room when he walked in the house. The couple moved into Stoick's father's old room so the baby could have the upstairs bedroom once it was born. "Yeah, I just woke up." She said watching him walk into the room. "You just woke up? What is our baby doing to you? You never slept this late."

"Yeah, but I have a good reason. The baby kept me up all night. This one is going to be a pain to put to sleep." She said watching him kneel by the bed and placing his palm on her bump. "So, what are your plans today?"

Stoick shrugged as he stood up. "Oh, nothing is really planed today. I'm just waiting to see if someone needs my help." He answered while he grabbed Valka's hands and helped her get out of bed.

"Well, while you're here. Do you want to talk about our anniversary? Do you want to do anything?" she asked walking out of the room to get a drink. Stoick let out a sigh and followed her.

"I would love to do something, but there isn't much we can do. With me being chief, and you taking care of yourself for the baby, the chances of us being together on our anniversary are slim." Valka sighed and nodded at his statement. It was true; the only time they really got to be together was late at night. Once in a blue moon, Stoick would have little to do and stay at home.

However, when he's at home, he would write down his to-do list and records. It seemed that the only time she got be with him was when they were in bed asleep. She knew that he was worn-out from chiefing, so she couldn't blame him when he wanted a drink of mead then go to sleep once his head hit the pillow.

"Well, we don't have to do anything for our anniversary. We can just stay here and just relax all night." Valka suggested making her husband smile.

"I know it's strange, but that actually sounds nice." He answered with a weak smile. Valka let out a light chuckle and kissed the top of his head.

"Well, you need the rest." She said then walked to the front door. "I'm going to see my mom; she says she has some old baby toys that I can keep."

"Alright, walk safe." Valka cocked a brow at him then walked out shutting the door behind her. When Stoick could no longer hear her footsteps, he went to the back of the house and searched the storage.

Valka woke up and realized that it was her anniversary. She turned her head expecting her husband to be there, but the other side of the bed was empty. Valka knew that he must be doing his chiefly duties. She hated how she had been waking up alone for months, but she knew that he was The Chief.

Valka got out of bed and walked to the front room. She saw her husband sitting at the dining table with a scroll in front of him. "I thought you would be out." She said taking a seat at the table.

"I woke up early and I thought I'd get a head start on the records." He said keeping his eyes on the scroll as he wrote. Then he bent down from the side and pulled out a chest. Valka watched as he put the chest in front of her.

"What's this for?"

"Open it up and I'll tell you," he answered. Valka pulled the chest closer to her and noticed that it had the Berk Crest on it. She opened the chest and saw a red belt with the Berk Crest, a brown fur cradleboard, and a flower pot filled with dirt. Valka pulled them out one by one and Stoick explained each gift.

"All of that is yours, even the chest. That belt belonged to my mother, that cradleboard was given by Johann, and that flower pot already has a seed in it. I know they're not the best gifts, but it was all I could do on short notice."

Valka put a hand on his arm and smiled. "This is perfect, I love it." She said then kissed his cheek and got up to put the flower pot by a window. Stoick went back to his records and pulled out his father's old record scrolls. He never got the chance to read the engagement and marriage records, and that was his plan today. He opened up the scroll and read each date of engagements and marriages one by one.

He felt bad that he never got the chance to see who was related to whom, and he planned to end that now. Once he got to the year when he got married, he noticed something odd. He reread it to make sure. Something didn't add up.

A/N: How was that for a cliffhanger? I'm so excited to write the next chapter! It's going to be fun to write!

FYI: when I was watching HTTYD2, I noticed that the little brown fur wrap that Hiccup was in as a baby, had something behind his head supporting it. What he was wrapped in is similar to the Native American cradleboard.

Of course the Native American cradleboard is more decorative than the one Hiccup was in, (since it was only made of fur)but I didn't know what else to call it. So if I'm calling it the wrong thing, please correct me so I can fix it.

So I'll see you guys next week with the chapter that I've waiting to write since I started this story!
