"I can't believe we're in war." Brianna said. "Yes but haven't you noticed something's off?" I asked. Brianna thought for a moment before replying. "Yes but the people seem to be okay and talking." I shook my head in disagreement before going into my own thoughts. "Something's not right…" I murmured which Brianna heard and asked "What's not right?" I shook my head again and began to going into more reasoning and questions about this place their in.

Kimberly finally opened her eyes slowly and soon when she opened them completely, she had to shield her own eyes. The sunlight was too bright and until she finally got use to it, she put her arm down and looked at her surroundings. "Where… Am I?" She asked but of course, she got no reply since she's alone in the room. The room was filled with bookshelves, a large rectangular table, chairs, and such. She slowly got up to look at the books but winced at the sudden pain on her side and arm.
She looked at the wound but it was bandaged, and cleaned. She shrugged and slowly got up and her legs felt weird but it soon went away and she looked at the books. "There's scrolls here…" She said as she lightly touched some of the scrolls and other books in the room. What she didn't know was that the door was opening and someone was coming through. The person was very quiet and snuck up behind Kimberly jabbing her on her left side since that person knows she's injured. Kimberly obviously was shocked and screamed while turning around so fast, tripping herself while falling on the bookshelves. The shelves was slightly rocking back and forth before the things on top fell.
Kimberly couldn't understand what was going on as a few books hit her head. "Ow! Ow! OW!" She rubbed her head but soon felt sudden pain on her right side. She winced and heard doors flung open. "What's going on in here?!" The person laughed a bit. "Sorry… Kind of made Kim-Kim have a heart attack." That voice, laugh, and nickname… NO WAY!
"Valentina?!" Kimberly yelled as she looked up. There she was wearing her normal clothes and smiling. "Yup!" She said in a squeal-like voice. Kimberly just stared and stared before getting up. She got up a bit too quickly and felt more pain. She was about to fall back down but somebody caught her and lifted her up bridal-style. "Wha-?" Kimberly began but was cut off by the person who carried her.
"You truly are troublesome." He said as he carried Kimberly to that wooden sofa and set her down gently. (I call it wooden sofa!) She looked up and it was Zhao Yun! Kimberly blushed and looked away but he could see it though he didn't say a world. 'Thank gods.' What Kimberly is thinking in her mind. "Lie down. You need to rest." She nodded and slowly lied on the wooden sofa. "This isn't as comfortable as a bed." She said.
"Do you want a bed?" Zhao Yun asked. Kimberly nodded as Zhao Yun gently picked her up bridal-style again and went to a room. As they were walking down the hallway, Kimberly asked Valentina what she's doing here. "I was actually here for two weeks before you Kim-Kim." Kimberly stared in disbelief as she was gently set down on a bed. "This is my room. You can sleep here until you recover." He said.
"Where will you sleep then?" Kimberly asked. "On the floor." He replied. "What? Why don't you have a sleeping bag or something?" Kimberly asked obviously feeling a bit guilty for taking his bed. "I do not mind. There is no open rooms and it's better for me to keep watch. Even more, I'm not quite use to sleeping on a bed." Kimberly stared… "Well… Okay… If you insist." She turned back to Valentina. "Continue on with your story.
Valentina explained while Zhao Yun heard every single word since they are in his room. "So… Let me get this straight. You've been stuck here for nearly a month and can't find a way out?" Kimberly asked curiously. Valentina nodded. "I heard from a lot of people in school saying that you just took home-schooled or on vacation." She laughed and shook her head at the same time. "Not even. No one knows where I am besides this entire place and you now." Kimberly just looked up and can't really believe the story but Valentina's sudden disappearance does make up for it. No later as she was going on with her questioning thoughts, it felt like something just pierced right through Kimberly and she got up so quickly that her right side began to throb in pain again.
"Are you alright?!" Zhao Yun and Valentina asked in unison. "Yeah I'm fine… Just let me ask you a question Val." Valentina nodded for Kimberly to go on. "Was it you that told Simi Yi about my presence here?" Valentina slightly frowned for a bit before shaking her head. "Why do you ask that? Because just so you know, I was picked up by Shu." Kimberly looked down a bit than turned to Zhao Yun. "Do you know anything about this Zhao Yun?" He shook his head. "As far as I know, he's very dangerous. He has many different plots and no one knows what they are."
"Why do you ask me that Kimberly?" Valentina asked once again. "When Simi Yi took me to the palace, he said: 'They' did say you were going to be interesting." This time it was Zhao Yun's turn to talk. "No wonder Wu is attacking Wei. They came by to ask us to assist them. We agreed but only some of us stayed back just in case there was an attack within this kingdom." Kimberly looked completely shocked. "You didn't know this Kimberly?" Valentina asked. "I didn't think it was an ALL out war. Just a few week battle. No wonder there were less guards around…" She replied honestly. "Weren't you playing the game?"
"Game?" Zhao Yun asked. Valentina and Kimberly exchanged nervous looks. "Is it alright if you can leave Zhao Yun sir?" Kimberly asked but her face was getting pale. "Why?" He asked. "It's… An important matter that no one else knows. Also, Kimberly, are you okay? You're really pale." Valentina asked. "Really now?" Kimberly gave a half-hearted laugh but winced again. "Let me look at your wound." Zhao Yun said as he got up to see Kimberly's cut again. "I'm… Fine really." Valentina puffed. "Not even. You're really pale. Just let him see the wound Kim."
Kimberly slightly blushed since Zhao Yun is a guy but decided to listen. She lifted her shirt a bit but not all the way. Just enough to show the cut. Zhao Yun examined it for a bit before yelled which startled both the girls in the room. Kimberly freaked and wacked herself on the cut and groaned in pain again. "You're bleeding more. Don't hit yourself." He scolded. "Not my fault you scared the blues out of me." Kimberly said. He sighed and soon a few more people came in and Zhao Yun and Valentina got out of sight.
"Doctors huh…" She murmured. They told her to drink something that didn't even look right. She still drank it anyway and started feeling sleepy. Her eyelids were getting heavier and heavier before she fell into a deep sleep since the drink was actually for making someone to go to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~To Valentina and Zhao Yun~~~~~~~~~~~
"So… How long have you known Kimberly?" Zhao Yun asked. Valentina raised an eye brow obviously wondering why he's asking but just decided to reply. "Since we were 12-13 years old. It was pretty long ago but we still talk and such." She replied. Zhao Yun nodded before leaning against wall waiting for the medics to come out. 'Maybe he likes her?' Valentina thought to herself but shrugged the thought off as the medics came out.
"How is she?" Valentina asked as she went up to them. "The girl is fine but make sure she doesn't strain herself too much. The wound nearly reopened but luckily it wasn't too bad. As long as she gets her rest and drink the medicine herbs, she'll heal up in no time." One of the medics said which is mostly the one who is a doctor. "Alright. Thank you." Valentina bowed and Zhao Yun thanked them as well and bowed. They left while Valentina and Zhao went in to see how Kimberly is.
She was lying down and looked very peaceful since she's sleeping. Zhao Yun went over and touched her forehead to check her temperature. 'No sign of being sick…' He said in his mind. "Does she have a fever?" Valentina asked. He shook his head but looked at the looking sleeping peacefully while a small smile rose to his lips. "Well… Okay then. It's getting late. I'll be going back to my room. See ya later!" Valentina waved while Zhao Yun said goodbye and closed the door.
He looked out the window and the sun was setting. 'What a beautiful sight to see here…' He thought to himself as he sat down next to Kimberly. When he first met her, he didn't know what to think of the child. It was difficult but right now seeing as she is, she's seems like an innocent girl who suffered greatly. He closed his eyes for a bit to process the thoughts going through his mind. 'Should I tell Lord Liu Bei that the girl is here safe and sound? Or bring her to Wu myself?' He had a bunch of questions in his head but soon snapped out of it as he heard a small voice. It was nearly quiet but he managed to catch it.
"No… Don't leave me here… Don't leave me here alone…" Kimberly was murmuring in her sleep as some tears began to fall from her face. Zhao Yun stared speechless before wiping some of her tears away while taking her hand and holding it in his. "Don't leave me…" She said in her sleep once again. "I'll never leave you." He said and soon Kimberly stopped crying while a small smile rose on her lips. Zhao Yun smiled at this and still held her hand. 'I don't want to let go…' He said in his mind before putting his head down on the bed and fell into a peaceful quiet sleep.
